Bought an iphone 6 for a gift, but can't figure out how to activate it.
Help! I bought my daughter a new iphone for Christmas to replace her 4s. The 4S is still connected to our carrier (AT&T.)
They told me at Best Buy, I would be able to activate the phone from home, but I can't find any information on how to do it.
AT&T's website only seems to help if you ordered the phone from them. I paid in full for the phone in order to surprise her for a gift, because I knew if they activated it there, her old phone would stop working. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Well, you do have a little bit of an issue - to activate the phone you need a carrier and a number for it to work as a phone else it is an iPod
Ergo - you have to transfer the number of your child's phone to the new phone
With AT&T you should be able to just get the SIM card out - cut it to the size of Nano SIM and pop it into the new phone and the connection will work
Now of course if your child has pictures, music and contacts - they will need to be transferred over.

(Activating the phone is merely a question of plugging it into iTunes and walking through the process as long as you have a viable internet connection that should be no problem)

I made my own Apple ID because when I was logged into my dad's my family was receiving my texts from other people. I want to add my device to my dad's "find my iphone" app but without signing into his Apple ID on my phone because that was causing them to get my texts. I was told by Apple I could add my device to his by signing into icloud.com but there is no option that I can find to add my device. And I don't want to log back in to his.. Any ideas???
Also when I apply the safety copy it only imports the app the phones have had in common, so none of the apps that only the iPhone 4 had doesn't come in, only the ones I and the iPhone 4 has had in common. So you say the only way I can use the Apple ID to download on the old iPhone 4 is if I delete the apps that are in the phone and then download them again? How will that change the ID to download/update from. Won't it still have mine to update/download from?

Just bought Photoshop Elements 13...I'm trying to make a slideshow but can't figure out how to alter duration time that the slide is on the screen. They presently move from one to another way too quickly...also need a different pan and zoom option. Where are all the options I had in PS10? Also...Can I burn this to a DVD?
The changes have brought improvements but also drawbacks compared with the old slideshow editor.
The templates are now fairly fixed but I find the “Classic Dark” gives reasonable results with some panning and you can click the audio button and browse you PC for any track. Unfortunately there are only three speed choices linked to the music track. The improvement for most people is that you can now export to your hard drive at 720p or 1080p and upload to sites like YouTube and Vimeo. -
I created a photo album on my iPhone 4s - edited photos etc. but I cannot figure out how to transfer it to my pc (using Windows 8). The only folder in the iphone drive is the one which has the Camera roll photos Help please - I really need the photos!
The camera roll is not part of the sync process at all.
You should be importing these photos to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera. Youc an organize them on your computer and sync the to the iphone if you wish.
The photos sync from the computer to the iphone is one way.
The iphone mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced. -

Still Here is what it takes you to get what you want .
Firstly , your iPhone by default comes with preset of 16-18 Apps in your Homescreen (including Dock)
Make sure your apps are installed either directly from the app store in your phone or through iTunes in your Mac or PC
once they are installed you can notice them by swiping the homescreens.
Long press the app icon , you can notice they all would be in "jiggle" mode
Drag them and place them in your home screen -
How do I send a group text message, I have groups set up in my gmail account but can't figure out how to send a group text without adding them all individually ?
You can use iCloud:
Step 1. Log into www.icloud.com using your Apple ID.
Step 2. Click on Contacts and then click the groups ribbon (the red icon with two people) which is on the left-hand page when viewing All Contacts.
Step 3. The left page changes to a list of Groups (only those groups stored in iCloud are shown). Click the + button at the bottom to add a new group.
Step 4. Type a name for the new group and press Enter to save it. To change it after this, double-click its entry in the groups list.
Step 5. To add contacts to the new group, click on the All Contacts group and locate the first person to be added (you can use the search bar to find them quickly).
Step 6. Drag their name on top of the new group and drop it to add it to that group.
Step 7. To add more contacts, repeat steps 5 and 6, but you can add multiple contacts at once by pressing Ctrl (on a PC) or Command (on a Mac) and clicking on each contact in the list that you wish to select. Then, drag one of the highlighted names to the new group and they will all be added.
It's possible to add names to more than one group, and you can create as many groups as you like.
Step 8. Launch the Contacts app on your device (iPhone, iPod touch or iPad) and you should see the new group appear almost immediately - as long as you have an internet connection.
Until Apple builds in a function to create groups directly within the Contacts app, this is the best way to do it. -
How do i synch my pdf/books to my Itunes library. I was able to synch my ipod touch app purchases by transferring them but can't figure out how to do my pdfs. Also why is my ipod picture greyed out-the one that lets my move the icons around.
I am afraid if i don't get the pdfs into my book library, i will lose them when i update to IOS 5-is that true?thank you-i have to check into the authorization and the account-i gave my husband my old ipod when i updated last year so both at one time have been on this computer but as it stands, it only comes up with my device when i plug into Itunes.
i don't think i have any restrictions for installing apps although my normal way of doing it is to download from the ipod touch. i did find that all i had to do was right click on my device name and got the message to transfer my apps and then they showed up in my library. Also when i clicked the synch checkbox i was able to view the ipod touch picture without it being greyed out. after all that i was able toupdate to IOS 5 successfully except my videos and podcast, and pdfs did not come over. This confuses me since i had dragged them over to my library to make sure that i had everything in my library and on my device. Not a big problem, since i just dragged them in itunes from my library to my device but sometimes i wonder if i understand the big picture:) -
How to remove stocks, weather,clock, notes, reminders, youtube, game center calc, voice memos,calendar, maps, and stocks? As a person who blew 300 bucks I think I should have a choice if I want to remove this crap but can't figure out how.
any help would make me happy. As it stands now from looking on the web it can't be deleted but making sure before i return this ipod touch. I wan't a clean item the way I wan't it and not how they want it. I have a brand new macbook with microsoft office loaded. I set outlook as the default mail. i would rather go back to mac mail but can't figure out how to do it. any ideas?

LouI have a similar problem: I switched from mac mail to Outlook 2011 as the default client, and want to switch back. Mailto links (eg from browser etc) default to Mail. However, when I try to email a Word document as an attachment, it continues to open Outlook. Outlook has a button in its prefs for making it the default client, but I don't see a way to turn this pref off in either Outlook or in Word.

How do I move a movie I have synced from iTunes into the "Movies" tab of the Video App? I need to access a slideshow I made in IMovies and may not have WiFi. I did it once, but can't figure out how to do it again! The file is an m4v. Thank you!
Im just guessing but it seems like you would have to get your movie into the correct folder on a computer then use iTunes to sync it to your iPad. If you've synced to a computer and have movies then on your computer should be a folder with the movie in it. You could export your iMovie to something like Dropbox then download from Dropbox to the folder you think it needs to be in the sync your iPad again. Again this is just a guess. Others may have a better answer.
