Bought games, no GCU added.. problems all around.
I bought Bravely Default (37.99, 3DS) and Lego Movie Video Game (14.99, PS4) today, and when I checked out, I had to ask them to check the price, since they charged me 39.99 when the BestBuy.com said 37.99 -- They did this ok. But after I scanned my membership and checked out, I realized that GCU 20% never applied for either games.
So I went back into CS, however, I'm not sure what they did, but they said they couldn't process the return due to them scanning my membership card first and it kicked them out of the system. After 15 minutes or so the system kept on giving them errors, I just told them to forget it. So I am wondering, is there anything you guys can do for me here to apply 20% discount to my purchase?

Bluetooth problems all around - Modem in the first row.

I've got a really annoying problem with the Bluetooth Setup of my Mac. Like you can see in my system description, I use Mac OS X 10.5.6. For a long time I used my old mobile via Bluetooth and GPRS as a Modem. Now it was time for a change. I bought a new mobile which supports 3G (Nokia 5800 Xpress Music).
I used the Bluetooth Wizard and told him to use all possible bluetooth functions of my device. I looked in the internet for the right configuration (APN, CID,...) and choosed to use the Nokia GPRS/3G Modem script which is preinstalled in Mac OS X (I also tried another one from www.taniwha.org.uk, it didn't work either).
The very strange thing is, the first connection worked without any problem, but after disconnecting and reconnecting it didn't work anymore. Instead I've got a message that the RFCOMM-Channel can't be opened.
I tried to fix the problem myself by searching wrong settings in some plists, but although I restored the original settings after recognizing that my changes didn't work, I've got a new problem.
Now the status symbol of the bluetooth modem always shows up that no modem configuration could be found, although I can still try to connect via Network -> Bluetooth. Of course it doesn't work this way too.
Sometimes the bluetooth modem works once after a reboot ( not after every reboot ). But only once!
File Transfer always works! The Nokia Multimedia Transfer also always works.
I definitely need advice of some of you, experts.

sorry, but the problem isn't solved yet. I tried different things but nothing helped:
I backuped and deleted the following Files:
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/Preferences.plist
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
/Users/benutzername/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.BluetoothHASH.plist
But it didn't help. In fact it made things worse. Therefore I restored the backuped files.
I deleted all bluetooth devices and installed just my new phone a bunch of times. - No change at all.
I used FSEventer to control the Filesystem Access. That leaded me only to the files mentioned above.
In the log-file:
/private/var/log/ppp.log
is the following error message logged:
Failed to open /dev/cu.Bluetooth-Modem: Resource busy
Up until now, I don't understand why this resource is busy.
I figured out, that the modem works using a USB-connection. That isn't a satisfying solution but it works for now.
Nevertheless I am still really interested in resolving the Bluetooth problem. -
K8N Neo2-F Problems all around
I currently run a MSI K8N Neo2-F Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce3 Ultra ATX AMD 64 with an AMD 64 3200+ processor, and lately I have been getting random power issues.
When I use a high-end gaming application, which is my primary function on the computer, I get random BSODs after a very short time. The only one that continues to work is World of Warcraft - weird eh? Every other game I play is having BSODs. Also, my keyboard PS/2 port as well as my USB ports are randomly dying - I have to unplug and replug my mouse and/or keyboard to get it to work again.
Bought a brand new power supply this week, and it didn't change a thing. Gave me a couple more FPS in WoW, so I know the PSU was a good choice.
Is this an RMA issue? And if so, is it possible to obtain a new motherboard without sending this one back? It'd be a major pain to be without a main board for that much time.Welcome to the forum. Ensure you list make/model of old/new psu inc max amps on +12v rail.
Run memtest - link in my signature.
Download cpu-z to check memory timings. Could try increasing vdimm a notch.
Could be other factors of course but unless we know what you have ....................... -
bought games and music on my ipod touch and then bought a new mac, but i updated my ipod on the new mac and lost all of my games and music and they arent on my computer or my ipod touch:( The apps i bought are not on my old computer either!! please help!!! I don't want to buy them all again!!

after updating to iOS 6.0 everything is a mess. i cant get in my CO app game, imessages undelivered, worst of all i cant connect to Apps store. If u were able to solve this pls let me know. or if possible to return to old OS 5.1 that is much better. HELP!
I had the same experience with a new iPhone 5 that I bought last week. Did not have a chance to measure battery life before the 6.0.2 upgrade installed but I set up my phone exactly like my 4S and immediately started running out of power after short periods. Went to Xmas get together with fully charged 5 and 4S. Heading home the iPhone 5 shut down for low battery and the 4S had 65% power. Both phones had two half phone calls on then and no data usage.
That night I fully charged the iPhone 5 and, without lighting it up, put it on my night table. Next morning I picked it up and looked at battery indicator and I had 42% charge with NO activity!
Tried it again next night and wound up with 37% charge. (Slept longer).
Today I called the carrier and reactivated the 4S. Took the 5 to Apple Store and they kindly gave me choice of new replacement phone or refund. I took the refund. Uniquely, the Apple Store said it was Verizon CDMA phones that were coming back.
The are other strings on this with temporary solutions, but from my experience with 7 firmware changes on an HTC 4G phone the problem will continue because the solution will be hardware caused. We are in the days where RTM means Rush to Market - not Release To Manufacturing.
I fear the only solution is to either wait for the next model (I did not notice a really major change in performance over the 4S in LTE heavy Seattle area) - or switch to another manufacturer.
It might be useful for these forums to indicate if you have a GSM or CDMA phone to see which have more problems.

Description unwittingly added to all photos in an event
There appears to be a bug in iPhoto version 9.3 when using the "Show Captions" with "Descriptions".
The faciltiy seems to work OK for the most part and can give a useful descriptive text over photos during a slide show.
But, I found that on some occasions, when amending a single description, that the text was added to ALL the photos in the event. (Where a description was already present the new text was appended to it.) This is extremely annoying because it is time-consuming to then have to go through all your photos in the event and remove the unwanted text.
Although it happened to me on two occassions, I have not been able to determine the exact sequence of operations that causes it.
I guess it might be there as a "feature", but if so it should surely be associated with a warning.
If you have experienced the same problem and know how it occurs, it would be worth reporting to Apple.
In the meantime, people who use this feature should be wary. I feel I don't want to use it again until the bug is fixed.You may have inadvertantly selected all of the photos in the event and made the change to the description. Or possibly by clicking on the event itself and using the Batch Change menu.
Create a test event with some test photos and see if you can reproduce the problem. I don't think it's a bug as you're the first to report it as I can recall.

Video looks all "squished" and 16:9 creates boarder all around

Thought I had this problem fixed. I am trying to export a clip I captured in FCP 5.1. I shot this footage in 24p Advanced with the DVX100. Well it looks squished and it creates a boarder all around instead of creating black bars at the top and bottom.
In my video settings 16:9 anamorphic is checked. I had this problem fixed originally but it now has returned. Does anyone have any ideas?

Getting this problem in the canvas. The video looks widescreen there (the window to the right) and when I try to export via "Export with Quicktime Conversion" it exports it the way I described. Squished to 4:3 and creates a window boarder all around.
My settings has Anamorphic checked so it should look 16:9. When I export it it looks all screwed up. Someone once told me a couple of days ago I needed to have it checked which I now do and everything worked great, now it doesn't. What gives?
What else would I need to do?

I just bought an Ipod classic and noticed that there is a tiny gap all around the side of ipod between front aluminium panel and stainless back.
Is it normal?
I am just concerned because when I was given the box at the Futureshop, the box had a big dent on the side.
(as if the box was dropped from 2-3 feet high atleast)
I was wondering the dent would've done something to make that gap on my ipod.
I am thinking to return it if it is defective
Any advice?

Adobe FireFox n Downloading Problems all comming on at once
So i have firefox on windows 8.1
year and a half no problem
( only thing i added recently was ad-aware and spybot )
anyhow that was 2+ weeks ago
Watching hulu n youtube no problem
all of a sudden i start having problems today.
Reinstalled firefox
uninstalled all adobe addons
heres where im at
Every Ad (not the acual video but the ads that play before )
either it turns all green with purple and white noise
or page goes all slow and has errors
on hulu if i refresh 3 times it will skip the ads and Play my movie
But NONE OF THE Ads will play
but video will play
have tried all other posts

remove addons

every time i now try to download
either i wont finish the last 1% or is corrupt

In order to fix the problem, try disabling the scanning as follows:
# In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear.
# Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page. A list of settings should appear
# Filter the list by typing in the search bar at the top. Type in scanWhenDone. You should now find the browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone preference.
# Double-click on that preference to set the value to false.
# Next, try to download something and see if it still hangs.

How can I get an album to play in order on Itunes? The songs keep skipping all around to other albums that I did not want to listen to at that time?
It sounds like you might have the shuffle button at the bottom left of the iTunes (the button with the squiggly lines).
If that's not the case, then maybe you just need to sort your library by album by clicking the album tab at the top.
Is your music in a playlist, or are you trying to play it from the entire library? -
I'm having some trouble transferring audio books to my iPhone. It usually takes 3 or 4 tries to get all the parts transferred. I didn't use to have this problem - all parts would transfer in one try.

I've run out of room on my hard drive. I bought an external drive and exported all my albums to the external drive then deleted the albums from iPhoto. Don't do that.
Copy /Photos/Photo library/ to the external.
Hold Option and launch iPhoto.
Select Choose library and select the Photo library you copied to the external. -
