Bought the new iPad and it's up and running, itunes and the app store are working well but when I try to open up either FaceTime or messages they won't open and a message appears cannot open try your connection. Help what is not right.
Have just bought the new iPad, everything working fine including iTunes, the app store and iCloud but when I try to log in to both FaceTime and imessage an error message comes up saying it cannot connect and to check my connections. What am I doing wrong.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Have you already activated the iPad? That is what the screen is telling you to do - connect to the computer with the supplied cable and run iTunes while connected - and iTunes should guide you through the set up process. If you have already set up the iPad and you are still getting thos screen message - restore your iPad. You must be running iTunes 10.5 on your computer as well.

If you can't restore this way, you will need recovery mode.

I want to copy email from my mac to my pc. Forwarding one at a time via email works well, but when I try to forward several of them at a time I receive one large email. I want to receive the emails individually on my pc. Any suggestions?
Don't know any 'automatic' way - but, i have "Fetch Headers only" set on each of my 'secondary accounts'.
With varying internet service, manual "Get Messages" is probably the "Best Practice" because you will know how good your service is before you even try.
maybe set "Check for new messages every 'n' minutes" to different times
(3 minutes, 6 minutes, etc.) on each 'secondary' account. -
I bought £15 app store token, redeemed it, but when I bought a new app it still charged my visa count and not the £15 I redeemed.

My wife has an NOKIA E71 and she syncs with iSync. Everything works well, but when she adds a meeting on her phone, it does appear on the computer after syncing. Anyone?

After a re-install of OS X 10.5.8 uninstalled the E71 in iSync and moved it out of the bluetooth-device list first and completely re-installed it using the bluetooth manager (SystemPreferences/Hardware).
No extra thirdparty-software involved and ever since no problems.

My App Store shows 3 updates but when I go to it the screen is blank. It will not give me the option to update all or one at a time, it doesn't show the apps at all.
Many people are having this problem for the last couple of days. This is a problem that Apple has to fix. If you look around the forum, you will see many, many discusssions about this and they have been going on for a few days.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this is a workaround - for the time being.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
1. Go to App Store
2. Select Purchased
3. Select All
4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store. -

On the new Ipad 4G (Verizon) - I am unable to Hotspot it with the USB Cable. I can do it with Wi-Fi and Blue Tooth just fine - but not directly connected from the iPad3 to a Windows 7 PC. It detects, it even opens up the Folder os that I can see the DCIM but no internet on the PC (but works fine using Wi-Fi or Blue Tooth hotspot). Any ideas ?
Attach the cable to your iPad and then to the USB, than go to settings chose the third option "personal hot spot" turn it on, a notification will pop up asking you if you want to use wifi or Bluetooth just select no and automatically work.

Does anyone know if the new ipad sir, not yet available will have a usb port? This is the only thing that is prevented me from purchasing so far. Doesn't make sense when you can connect to tv.

Your music will only be where you put it.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Did you fail to do this?
The ipad is not a replacement for a computer. It is simply a large ipod touch.

What to do if the screen is stuck on the draft screen? I was writing a mail, saved it as draft, then later, was able to send it. However, the screen did not revert to the inbox page. The draft page seems to be hung or stucked. Safari and all others are working ok though.
I sent the draft to myself several times. That did not seem to be working, but when I opened Mail this morning, it has been sent all of the times and the Mail screen is no longer frozen.
