BPEL Component not spawning SOA processes

I am trying to get a workflow running that passes a payload consisting of several ucm document metadata elements, a few custom elements, and the DocURL and idcReference to a SOA Composite with a BPEL Process on it.
I have created the Composite in JDeveloper with the SOA plugin, and I have added <binding.adf registryName="" serviceName="soa"> to the service entry in the composite.xml just as the BPEL Component guide tell you to do.
The BPEL Process wizard creates by default a <process_name>.xsd which is used as the payload for the process. It has 1 input field of type string. I replace that 1 field with dID, dDocName, dDocType, xFormType, xNotificationType, xPackageId, xSubmissionId, xBatchId, xBatchDate, docURL, and idcRef, all of type string.
I have deployed it to soa-infra and created a Connection Configuration (tested, works) and Process Configuration with a Configuration ID of "soa" and an action pointing to my BPEL composite and process. I have created Mappings to the BPEL payload tying all of the pertinent UCM fields to their appropriate BPEL payload fields.
I have created a criteria workflow with a step named SendToSOA which has scripts in it exactly like the example given in the BPEL Component Guide, except with "soa" where the Configuration ID should go instead of "process_3". I add another step afterward with review for the "weblogic" user so that I can look at the workflow before it finishes.
I check in content of the appropriate type , and the workflow is engaged, and says that it passes the SendToSOA step, but when I go to soa-infra in EM and look to see if any new processes are spawned, I see no change. No errors or log messages are produced in any of the logs on the UCM or SOA Managed servers.
I have rebuilt this process from the ground up about a hundred times. Once in a while, a deployment will start kicking off processes, with no consistent rhyme or reason. Sometimes, (maybe 1 time in 10) when I have built the BPEL component without changing the payload (meaning I can only pass one piece of data to my BPEL process....), the workflow will start spawning processes.
Once, it started working randomly with a full payload, and it worked fine as a vehicle for 3 separate workflows for an entire day, spawning processes on SOA like a champ, but then because of a design change, I had to change the payload, and add 2 new fields. I deployed the changed BPEL process to SOA with the new payload, and when I went to the update the mappings on the Process Configuration, the Process configuration page made no effort to notice the new payload settings, and the Component Provides no way to tell the Process Configuration to update itself. At first I tried to update the payload in the <processconfiguration>.hda file under <domain>/ucm/cs/data/orabpel/process/, but when I did, the workflow stopped creating bpel processes on the SOA server. Then I tried deleting the configuration and rebuilding it, which did allow me to add the new payload fields in, but still, the workflow would not spawn SOA processes ever again.
I have tried rebooting the UCM and/or SOA managed servers, I have tried rebooting them both, even between each configuration step. I have rebuilt everything from the ground up literally over a hundred times. I have tried it with changing the names of each of the components, from the composite to the bpel process to the adf binding service name to workflow. I have tried disabling and enabling the workflows, I have tries making the adf binding service name entirely unique, or matching the bpel wsdl client name, or matching the bpel process name, or matching the ucm process configuration id. I have tried many different ucm process configuration ids. I have tried simplifying the workflow script down to just <$obInvokeProcess("soa")$> or <$obConfigID="soa"$><$obInvokeProcess(obConfigID)$>. I have tried this whole process both on my development system and on a VM running UCM and SOA, both in linux and windows installations, the behavior is the same on both systems. I have tried it with Asynchronous, Synchronous and One-way BPEL processes.
So far, there has been 5 instances of the workflow suddenly working without any explanation. twice with just the default single input payload created by the BPEL wizard in JDeveloper. Once when I had added one extra input field named input2 (string), but this was on the VM on my laptop, so not useful to my developement effert. I tried re-creating the exact same deployment on dev with the EXACT SAME steps, but on dev the workflow would not spawn SOA processes. Once, the process started working with only the script <$obConfigID="soa"$><$obInvokeProcess(obConfigID)$> in the Entry Eventof the workflow, and once with just <$obInvokeProcess("soa")$>, but trying to re-create this with full payloads failed.
I am at wits end. there is little information on the internet or on otn or on Oracle Support or on intradoc_users yahoo group about the BPEL Component.
Please help?

Sorry for the confusion Vlad.
With "And instance state is being shown as Running" i meant to say was : The instance state that we see in EM whenever we open our composite along with all other details like InstanceID,Name,ConversationIS etc.
"BPEL component instance is not generated.": i meant to say was that whenevr we click on particular instanceid flow trace window pops up where we see the complete trace. I am here not able to see BPEL process .It didnt get invoke overall.
Flow of BPEL as mentioned in my first post:
1. DB is polled using DB adapter(logical delete)
2. response from DB is passed to BPEL process for furthur processing.
3. BPEL after some transformation publishes message in jms queue using JMS adapter.
Hope it helps.

Karan

  • Windows 8.1 having same issue: Windows could not parse or process unattend answer file (C:\Windows\Panther\unattend.xml) for pass [specialize]. A component or setting specified in the answer file does not exist.

I know there are similar other issues with IE 10 and Windows 7.  This is WINDOWS 8.1, and the IE Welcome message is totally absent from the default unattend.xml in the c:\windows\panther directory.  In fact, I did a sysprep without using any injected
unattend.xml - this is the Microsoft Default!
So I suspect this will start appearing all over again soon.  Anyone figure out what was causing it?
Here is the new Specialize section from the xml:

I'm thinking of dumping the entire IE section and see what happens.

I too received this error as I tried to run my first Windows 8.1 deployment. Per another post I commented out this line
    <IEWelcomeMsg>false</IEWelcomeMsg>
from the IE section of the unattend.xml. I was then able to run my deployment. I do not see this line in your posting though.
I referenced this link even though it was for Windows 7.

    Hope this helps someone.

To clarify, I edited the unattend.xml file from from Deployment Share, not C:\Windows\Panther.

  • How to export deployed SOA process from 10.1.3.4 and to use in JDeveloper

I have a situation where I need to export deployed SOA process from 10.1.3.4 in order to make some changes since the source code is not available. If I export process from BPEL console in 10.1.3.4, I cannot use that in JDeveloper. Will anyone suggest me how to export the deployed process from 10.1.3.4 and then to import in JDeveloper 10.1.3.4. thanks!
    Regards,
    Suneel Jakka

As far as i remember, i think you have option to export the deployed project as .zip file.
When you deploy using jdev / ant script, the compiled code will be exported as .jar file into the server and in the server context path, the .jar file will be extracted.
When you export from the server, it will zip the extracted content from the context path.
So you need to create a empty project with that name and manually copy paste the project folders into your jdeveloper work space, then compile.
    Hope this helps !!

  • Issues during Component Batch Determination for Process Orders

    Hi,
I am encountering a strange issue during component batch determination of process order.
    1. During creation of process order, when I execute batch determination, systems does determination based on strategies we have set and when I click on Copy it gives an error
"Log cannot be saved: Object/subobject not specified"
    Message no. BL201
    *Diagnosis
Log save cancelled because at least one log contains no object or subobject.
Object and subobject are needed to classify application logs because there are several log types. Only a few logs are managed in main memory at runtime, so this classification is not needed.
If the logs are to be saved in the database, object/subobject must be specified for later retrieval.
    Procedure for System Administration
Object/sub object can be passed when a log is created (function module BAL_LOG_CREATE) and changed with BAL_LOG_CHANGE.
The possible values for object and sub object must be configured in transaction SLG0.*
If I save the order with CRTD status and come back again in change mode and do determination, It works fine.
Again when the order is in REL status and do the determination, It gives the same error.
This happens only for a specific plant, In other plants batch determination works in all scenarios.
I checked for all plant related Config for batch determination and coudn't find any discrepancies.
Please advise how to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance for your help
    Regards,
    Aheesh

There Is no direct solution for your requirement just try this work around.
While defining the batch determination search strategy for process order in COB1, there is one column Quantity proposal where you can attach the Routines (This is written in ABAB code )  make use of this, define New Routines with ABAB help to fulfill your requirement. Try this if found useful award full points.

  • BPEL Console not showing instance.

I have written an Empty BPEL (not sync/async) process. Internally it calls three synchronous Web Services(partner links). The process starts with a DB poller. When I run the process the three partnerlink process instances are shown but the main BPEL does not appear in the instances list in the BPEL Console. (This is occuring whenever there is a fault in the BP, when the BP executes successfully it is shown in the BPEL Console.) How can I get to know the error in such a case?
Adding a Java Embedding did not work because when the Java Embedding is after the step where the fault is occuring then the instance is not getting reflected.
Any idea where BPEL process logs are written and how can I write custom logs in the log file?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Check the log file at
    $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs/default*.log

  • Batch not updated in process order

    hi all,
When i am doing batch determination and goods issue through coik pick list batch not update in process order. presently we are not doing batch determination in process order.after goods issue component batch fields are grey out in the process order

    HY,
Batch field are filled only if you do Batch determiantion of components whether it is by auto or manual. And it is logical also becasue if you split the material qty. in more than one batches during goods issue( whether it is in COIK or in COR6N)then think what should be the case in Component screen in process order?
As soon as you complete the Goods Issue This field becomes gray but the filled of Quanity withdrawn is update with qty you have withdraw.

  • Cannot create SAPUI5 UI Component from a BPM Process

    Dear friends,
For a very strange reason I am not able to create a SAPUI5 UI Component from a BPM Process. I am trying to create SAPUI5 UI's for an Human task as part of my BPM process. I am using NWDS 7.3 EHP1 SP15 PAT0000.
We are using NWDI development configuration.
The error log shows the following error:
    BC-BMT-BPM-CMP#      [Error: com.sap.glx.ide.flow.util.logger.IDEAbstractDynamicParticipant$TRACEENTRIES  Thread[main,6,main]]
If I try to do the same under my LocalDevelopment I'm able to create a SAPUI5 component.
Any ideas what could be causing this issue or where to look for more information about the error?
    Thank you in advance,

Does anyone has any idea? This is rather urgent...
    Thank you,

    Using: Release *10.1.3.3.1*
    Hello All,
Bpel deployment fails for all processes that have revision other than *1.0*.
We have been attempting to deploy several BPEL projects via ANT script to a target environment and are encountering failures to deploy for every project which isn’t a (revision 1.0). We are getting the following error whenever we try to deploy a process with a revision other than 1.0:

The structure of our automated deployment script is as follows:
First, a batch script calls (Jdeveloper_BPEL_Prompt.bat) in order to set all necessary environment variables i.e. ORACLE_HOME, BPEL_HOME, ANT_HOME, etc for ant.
Next, the script lists every .jar file within the directory to an .ini file called BPEL_List.ini. Furthermore, BPEL_DIR, ADMIN_USER and ADMIN_PSWD variables are set and initialized respectively to:
    -     “.” – point to directory where script is running from because all the BPEL processes are located here
    -     “oc4jadmin”
    -     “*********” (whatever the password for out environment is)
We’ve developed a method to have the script prompt the user to select the target environment to deploy to. Once the user selects the appropriate environment, the script goes through the BPEL_List.ini files and a loop tells it that for every BPEL process listed:
    DO ant
    -Dprocess.name=%%b
    -Drev= !Rev!
    -Dpath=%BPEL_DIR%
    -Ddomain=default
    -Dadmin.user=%ADMIN_USER%
    -Dadmin.password=%ADMIN_PWD%
    -Dhttp.hostname=%HOST%
    -Dhttp.port=%PORT%
    -Dverbose=true
(What’s happening is that the variables in the batch file are being passed on to the ANT script where *%%b* is the process name, !rev! is revision #, and so on…)
The loop goes through each line in the BPEL_List.ini and tokenizes the BPEL process into 3 parts *(%%a, %%b, and %%c)* but we only extract 2 parts: *%%b* (process name) and *%%c* which becomes !Rev! (revision number).
    Example:
    Sample BPEL process:
    bpel_ThisIsProcess1_1.0.jar
    bpel_ThisIsProcess2_SOAv2.19.0.001B.jar
    After tokenizing:
    %%a     %%b     %%c
    bpel     ThisIsProcess1     1.0.jar
    bpel     ThisIsProcess2     SOAv2.19.0.001B.jar
*!Rev!* and not *%%c* because *%%c* will return whatever the revision number is + the “.jar” file extension as illustrated above. So to circumvent this, we parse *%%c* so that the last 4 characters are stripped. Such is done like this:
    set RevN=%%c
    set RevN=!RevN:~0,-4!
    Hence, the usage of !Rev!.

    SUMMARY OF ISSUE AT HAND:
~ Every bpel process w/ 1.0 revision deploys with no problems
~ At first I would get an invalid character error most likely due to the “!” preceding “Rev”, but then I decided to set rev=”false” in the build.xml file. That didn’t work quite well. In another attempt, I decided to leave the –Drev= attribute within the batch script blank. That still led to 1.0s going through. My next thought was deploying something other than a 1.0, such as 1.2 or 2.0 and that’s when I realized that if it wasn’t a 1.0, it refused to go through.
    QUESTIONS:
    1.     IS THERE A WAY TO HAVE ANT LOOK INTO THE BPEL PROCESS AND PULL THE REVISION ID?
    2.     WHAT ARE WE DOING WRONG? ARE WE MISSING ANYTHING?
    3.     DID WE GO TOO FAR? MEANING, IS THERE A MUCH EASIER WAY WE OVERLOOKED/FORGOT/OR DON’T KNOW ABOUT THAT EXISTS?

Only thing i can think of is instead of using a MAC ACL , u cud jus use the default class
    Policy Map Test
    class class-default
    police 56000 8000 exceed-action drop
    Class Map match-any class-default (id 0)
    Match any
    You would be saving a MAC-ACL ;-).

  • How to update payload/data within an in-flight SOA process

    Hi,
I have a SOA process (Process A) deployed to my server and for instances of that process I need to change/update the value of instance variables within the payload of the process instance.
I want to do this through Process B which will contain a step to go and update the value of an instance variable within Process A's in-flight instances. E.g. Process A has a variable called 'Status'
and the process is in-flight and running. I then require Process B to go in and update this variable with a new value.
Can someone please confirm whether this is possible, and if so, how this could be achieved and which API's to use etc? I was wondering whether the SOA-Infra schema or dehydration store could be used to do this?
I am working in a SOA/BPM 11g environment with Weblogic Server 11g. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi
You can try something along these lines given in this post of mine: Assign role, group to Human Task when initiated
BUT the thing is, the above notes works fine for any HumanTasks within the same Process. But you have like 2 different processes. If they are like Sub-Process, inside one big single Process, still it should work. But the above CallBackHandler class is usually attached to a HumanTask in events section.

  • BPEL-B2B patch for SOA 10.1.3.4

    Hi all,
Can anyone tell me which patch should be applied to enable BPEL-B2B integration in SOA suite 10.1.3.4(latest)
And also can anyone tell me how to apply the patch

    Hello,
You can integrate BPEL (10.1.3.x) with B2B (10.1.2.0.2 - any patch) by using the AQ adapter in BPEL. You can create a BPEL process that uses two AQ adapters (one for dequeuing the message from B2B, one for enqueing the message into B2B). If a message has been received by B2B, use the AQ adapter dequeue operation from BPEL to pull the message out and do whatever you need to do with it. When you need to submit that message back into B2B for out processing you create an AQ adapter enqueue operation in BPEL.
More detailed instructions on the integration of BPEL and B2B are located here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/b2b/pdf/B2B_TN_022_Enabling_B2B_BPEL_Interop.pdf

  • 11g B2B Error, BPEL is not getting triggered

    Hi,
We have installed 11g B2B, where we are facing few errors :-
    1. We have created one protocol and multiple document definitions under it for different trading partners.
But within all these document definitions only one is working fine, for others we are facing issue. After getting successfully processed by B2B, BPEL is not getting
    triggered.
Do we need to apply any patch to make it work?
    2. Is there any naming convention to create protocols and document definitions?
We created protocols like "<Trading partner name>_<versionNo>_<Transaction_type>" , but we were geting agreement identification error, when we created protocol name with only version no(4010) and document definition name with transaction_type (850), that issue got resolved. We haven't encountered any issue like this in 10g B2B.
Any pointer with respect to fix this issue would be a great help. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Saravana

    Hi Saravana,
After getting successfully processed by B2B, BPEL is not getting triggered.Do you see application message getting created? Are you using B2B adapter in composite to receive transactions from B2B and if yes then which mode of integration (AQ/JMS/Fabric) are you using? Are you using Document Routing ID in Document definition?
Do we need to apply any patch to make it work? No. No patches are required.
    2. Is there any naming convention to create protocols and document definitions?Yes, in case of EDI. Version should be the EDI version (for e.g - 4010) and Document Type name should be EDI document name (for e.g. 850). No restriction on Document Definition name.
    Regards,
    Anuj

  • Data not reaching SOA from B2B

    Hi All,
i have configured a generic file listening channel. B2B is picking up the file succesfully and it is also getting processed succesfully without any error
But data is not getting read by the B2b adapter(configured in default mode) which i have configured in SOA layer neither i can see in the queue(IP_IN_Queue). if i undeploy the soa process then i am able to see the data in IP_IN_Queue.
Strangely, if instead of generic file channel, if i configure my trading partner to listen the data using MLLP over TCP. then data is getting read by SOA layer.
Now i have a couple of questions:
    1. In B2b 11g, we have 4 queues, IP_IN_Queue, IP_OUT_Queue , B2B_IN_Queue, B2B_OUT_Queue. Now which of these are used by B2b to pass data to soa in default configuration.
    2. Why in case of generic file listeing channel my SOA composite is not receiving the data from B2B.
    Regards,
    Saurav Singla

    Hi Anuj,
I have checked the application message. Application message does not have any detail about the composite instance or any location where its dumping the data.
In diagnostic logs i can find the following error.

It looks like dat errro is coming while delivering message to fabric.
But i have no idea why this error is coming because with the same configuration and ecs files, when i am sending the data through MLLP, its working perfectly fine.

OWSM: Gateway is not ready to process requests
After I registered a service in a gateway with OWSM and when I intialize a client call using gateway virtualized URL fro BPEL, the first time call I always get the following fault. It is like a "wake-up" call. I had to initialize second call imediately following the first call get through gateway.
Can anyone help me to figure out how to keep the OWSM Gateway "awake" all the time and avoid first call gateway failure?

  • BPEL in PeopleSoft Data Conversion Process

I am new to BPEL and my requirement is to use BPEL to extract data from PeopleSoft to flat files and load to a 3rd party external system. The same requirement used to be accomplished by SQR...
Can someone advise how BPEL fits in this convesion process? I am reading documents but still not very clear. If there are any online resource, that would help too.

    1. what are the basic steps i need to manually configure in new box before i do LSMW --- depends on how system is setup - normally you define number ranges manually
    2. what i need to do with number ranges so that assets will have the same asset numbers. --- Define you number ranges to generate numbers externally (not internally) and you can load the "old" SAP asset number in new box as it is.
3.what are the steps to bring asset balances --- read LSMW and/or search on this forum. You will find lots of threads discussing the same.
    4. what are the steps to continue do depriciation in the new system from the remaining useful life ( Ex. Lets say i have asset worth 1000 dollers and use ful life is 5 yrs. lets say 2.5 yrs is depriciated and the current balance is 500. But now iam moving that asset to new instance so that it should continue from 2.6 month and continusly run depriciation.
Once you load APC, Accum Depr and the original useful life of the old asset SAP will automatically start depreciating from the current month onwards based on the remaining useful life/months.
Please always search on this forum before you ask.
