BPEL Console error
Hi,
I am getting the below error in BPEL console:
Cannot fetch a datasource connection.
The process domain was unable to establish a connection with the datasource with the connection URL "jdbc/BPELServerDataSourceWorkflow". The exception reported is: Listener refused the connection with the following error:
ORA-12516, TNS:listener could not find available handler with matching protocol stack
The Connection descriptor used by the client was:
(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(LOAD_BALANCE=on)(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=localhost)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=XE)))
Please check that the machine hosting the datasource is physically connected to the network. Otherwise, check that the datasource connection parameters (user/password) is currently valid.
I checked the BPELServerDataSourceWorkflow source in server control and working fine but when I am running application and open BPEL consol, it is giving me an error.
Please let me know if I can get any solution for it.
regards,
Sreejit
Hi sreejit,
Restart your database. Probably there is some problem with the database.
or
Check your datasource connection details in EM-> JDBC connections.
Cheers,

The steps I followed for the MLR#3 patch on Windows 32 bit were:
1) Use opatch utility for patch 7586063 - No errors displayed and lsinventory output looks fine
2) Ran the upgrade_10134_10134mlr_olite.sql & upgrade_10134_10134MLR_olite.sql scripts for BPEL and ESB (Oracle Lite used for this development install)
Any ideas how to resolve the BPEL Console error?After performing an opatch rollback I realised that I should have run the BPEL database upgrade script "upgrade_10134_10134mlr_above_mlr11_olite.sql" rather than the one listed in my previous post above.
So after reapplying the patch and running the correct script all is now working -

SOA Suite 10.1.3.4 BPEL Console not working after install the mlr#4 patch
http://blogaodosoa.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html -
I am getting following error on checking the flow of a running/completed BPEL process in BPEL Console
Error: Internal Bug (#188)
Element has no child: creation-date
I am running SOA Suite 10.1.3.3 on Microsoft Vista.
I already resolved a number of issues to make SOA Suite running on Vista.
Please help.I found the error was caused by %ORACLE_HOME%\bpel\system\appserver\oc4j\j2ee\home\applications\orabpel_ear\console_war\xmlGetInstanceTrace.jsp, the jsp is as below:
{color:#0000ff}<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<%@page contentType="text/xml; charset=UTF-8" %>
<%@page import="com.oracle.bpel.client.Locator" %>
<%@page import="com.oracle.bpel.client.IInstanceHandle" %>
<%@page import="com.collaxa.cube.fe.util.ServletUtils" %>
<%
String referenceId = request.getParameter( "referenceId" );
try
// get locator object from the session
Locator l = ServletUtils.getLocatorWithoutUrlRewrite(request, response);
{color}
{color:#0000ff}
IInstanceHandle instanceHandle = l.lookupInstance( referenceId );
out.println( instanceHandle.getInstanceTrace() );
catch( Throwable e )
%>
<exception><% out.println( e.getMessage() ); %></exception>
<%
%>{color}
I found {color:#0000ff}out.println( instanceHandle.getInstanceTrace() );{color:#000000} will generate a sippet of xml to describle a instance of a process, the correct format is as below:{color}
{color:#ff0000}<work-items>
<work-item xmlns:ns10="http://www.w3.org/1999/XMLSchema-instance" is-complete="false" has-exception="false" xmlns:ns11="http://www.collaxa.com/bpel/schemas" ns10:type="ns11:WorkItem">
<key ns10:type="ns11:WorkItemKey">
<instance-id>1</instance-id><node-id>BpAss1</node-id><scope-id>BpSeq2.5</scope-id>
<count-id>1</count-id></key><domain-id>default</domain-id><creation-date>1220071304046</creation-date><creator /><modify-date>1220071304140</modify-date>
<modifier /><state>closed.finalized</state><expiration-date /><priority>3</priority><label>assign (78)</label><custom-id /><comments /><reference-id />
</work-item>
</work-items>
{color}But after applying the 10.1.3.3.0 patchset , the generated xml is as below:
{color:#ff0000}<work-item ns1:type="ns2:WorkItem">
<key ns1:type="ns2:WorkItemKey">
<instance-id>20001</instance-id>
<node-id>BpRpl1</node-id>
<scope-id>BpSeq2.5</scope-id>
<count-id>2</count-id>
</key>
<state>关闭.结束</state>
</work-item>{color}
And in work-item element there was no create-date child element, so that the error occurred. So I think {color:#ff0000}the error was caused by InstanceHandle's getInstanceTrace() method{color}, maybe after upgrade serveral .jars was not updated? Could you give some suggestions?

NO domains accessible to the user error while opening bpel console
Hi all,
I have applied SOA patchset 10.1.3.5 on SOA 10.1.3.1 .After that when I am trying to access bpel console is givving the error like
'No Domains accessable to the user logged in'. I am able to connect to the database using jdeveloper.
I am missing any post instalation steps ?.Can anybody help me please.
Thanks and Regards,
Durgareddy Katta.Hi
It means that your bpel services have failed to start up. perhaps a failure with patching it.
Did you also patched the orabpel schema? Did you follow the post install tasks?
Look into $ORACLE_HOME/bpel/domains/domain_name/logs/domain.log and ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs, oc4j_soa logs what kind of errors there are related to bpel startup

Error when opening BPEL Console:No domains accessible to the user logged in
Hi,
I have upgraded the SOA SUITE from 10.1.3.1 to 10.1.3.4 by applying the patch. Before applying the patch, I run the scripts to upgrade the database for both ESB and BPEL. After applying the patch I made the change in <ORACLE_HOME>\j2ee\oc4j_soa\configdata-sources.xml file for the BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL parameter. But when I am opening BPEL Console it is showing the error like “No domains accessible to the user logged in". And in the log file I am getting the error like
ORABPEL-03003
Incorrect db schema version.
The database schema version "2.0.4" from the database does not match the version "10.1.3.4.0" expected by the server.
The database schema currently in place has probably been configured for a previous release; please re-install the database schema and try to start the server again.
Does anybody knows how to fix this problem?
Thanks,
AnjuHello,
I had the same problem and reconfiguring the datasources.xml was the solution. Because the installer replace its values with all wrong values. For example: using polite driver instead OracleDriver, 1522 instead 1521, user and password.
That solved my problem, maybe you must check all parameters of the datasources.xml and restart the server. -
Error message in BPEL console when purging instances
Hi
I get an error message in the BPEL console when I Purge All Instances. The problem arised when i patched SOA suite to version 10.1.3.3. (On 10.1.3.1 i beleive this worked.)
======================================
Exception
Operation failed because:
Cannot delete instances.
The process domain was unable to purge the instances from the datastore. The exception reported is: [POL-5130] table or view SYSTEM.WI_FAULT not found
Please check that the machine hosting the datasource is physically connected to the network. Otherwise, check that the datasource connection parameters (user/password) is currently valid.
sql statement: DELETE FROM wi_fault WHERE domain_ref = ?
======================================
I also get a similar error message when i use the search activity function in the BPEL console, and when I use the java-api:s to search among activities.
Does anyone know anything about this error?
Thankyou
//KalleI got the same error, but long after I upgraded to 10.1.3.3.
As this was on Windows with Oracle Lite, I did like below to fix the issue. Unfortunately I seem to have more issues with the BPEL database so I'm going to try to find a way to reinitialize it from scratch.

Error in Bpel console of oracle application server 10.1.3
Hi everyone,
I am using oracle application server 10.1.3.
I am having an issue in BPEL console of server.the issue is...
After few instances the BPEL process state is going to OFF mode even though I m trying to change its state it is not changing.
How to resolve this issue?
what is the reason behind this issue?
Thanks in advance!!!
SaralaHi,
If your bpel process is changing to an OFF state, it means that there is an error.
For example, if you poll a file from a directory, and the file has a bad format, it might change to OFF.
Look at the log files and find out what is the error.

Error logging in using BPEL Console
Hi
When I try to login using BPEL Console, I get following error:
"No domains accessible to the user logged in"
I tried link "Goto BPEL Admin". I found no domains there. I am unable to add new domain also.
Can anyone let me know if I need to change any configuration to make this work?
ThanksHi Badri,
Check 1:
First checkpoint where we can identify the detail of error description is checking the following log files;
Domain Log: $SOA_Home\bpel\domains\default\logs\domain.log ('default' is the default domain name)
- This log file will be created everytime the SOA service is started and will log any domain level startup issues
OPMN Log: $SOA_Home\opmn\logs\OC4J~oc4j_soa~default_group~1.log
- This log file will log all the BPEL process specific logs (creation/termination)
System Log: $SOA_Home\bpel\system\logs\orabpel.log
- System level logging is provided for infrastructure, AXIS, and WSIF issues
All these log files should give a clear picture about the error which might be causing this issue, based on which you can take necessary actions.
Check 2:
Check whether the database on top of which Oracle SOA suite was installed is up & running. If not, ensure the RDBMS listener is running & restart SOA service.
Check 3:
The Oracle SOA suite will be installed on top of a database (Oracle Lite/external Oracle DB), where three schemas would have been created during installation namely Orabpel, Oraesb, Orawsm. These schemas might have got corrupted (or) their passwords might have got changed which throws "No domains accessible to the user logged in." error in Oracle BPEL console. Ensure all 3 schemas are present in the database and their passwords are intact as specified in the datasources.xml/during installation and restart SOA service after corrections.
Check 4:
If any class files have been added in the SOA suite, ensure they are properly compiled and deployed @ $SOA_Home\bpel\system\classes.
Check 5:
If you have added any custom xpath functions for use in the BPEL process, you might have added entries in the $SOA_Home/bpel/system/config/xpath-functions.xml. Ensure that this file is well formed.
Check 6:
If you have deployed any BPEL process recently after which the Oracle BPEL console throws this error, there might be high chance for issues in the deployed BPEL process.
All deployed BPEL processes will be picked up from the following location. Take backup of the existing processes, delete all entries and then restart SOA service.
$SOA_Home\bpel\domains\default\tmp ('default' is the default domain name)
Refer : http://sathyam-soa.blogspot.com/2009/01/oracle-bpel-console-throws-no-domains.html
Hope this helps!
Cheers
Anirudh Pucha -
Error coming while opening BPEL console.
Hi'
I am getting the below error if I am trying to go on the BPEL console, I am able to open rule author in the SOA suite.
I have to confess that I ended one opmn.exe process in the task manager, as the system was getting hanged. After ending the opmn process hanging was gone and SOA suite also started sucessfully but this error started coming.
please advice what to do.
thanks
Yatan

Oracle(R) BPEL Process Manager - Version: 10.1.3.3
This problem can occur on any platform.
Symptoms
-- Problem Statement:
After upgrading 10.1.3.1.0 SOA to 10.1.3.3 you're unable to access BPEL Console, and get the following exception :
Exception Message: [java.lang.NoSuchMethodException] com.collaxa.cube.ejb.impl.FinderBean.tryLookupInstanceByReferenceId(java.lang.String,com.oracle.bpel.client.auth.DomainAuth)
-- Steps To Reproduce:
1. Upgrade 10.1.3.1.0 to 10.1.3.3
Cause
There has been a problem with the orabpel.ear file in some environments. The issue
can be vefified by checking the size of the orabpel.ear files in the the following locations
SOA_HOME\bpel\system\services\lib
and
SOA_HOME\j2ee\home\applications
If only one of them is of size 2530260, then you have hit upon the cause for this issue in your environment.
Solution
-- To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
Copy the orabpel.ear from SOA_HOME\bpel\system\services\lib (the one that is of size 2530260) to the location
SOA_HOME\j2ee\home\applications (to replace the one that is not 2530260) and restart.

any pointers in how to resolve the issue or what is causing it ?
thanksone way of overcoming the error is to include the below entry in server.xml

I just encountered an error using the BPEL console in one of our test environments. I got the error when I clicked 'Manage BPEL Domain' and then clicked the 'Threads' tab. I also get the error when I click the 'Statistics' tab. Other tabs are OK, 'Configuration', 'Logging', 'Adapter Stats'.
Note that this is happening on one test server, other dev/test servers are OK.
