Break out iPad iworks apps?

Is it possible for the hosts to break out the iPad iworks programs like the desktop iWork is? Many of us are experts in one area, not so much in others and I cannot seem to get a link to just the one area I typically help in. I have to manually refine the group down each and every time I visit the pages. I forgot recently and was answering a question that was worded in a ay it could have been for any of the three apps.
I would have gone back and edited my response, but was forced to post another response to my own post due to the fact that I am on an iPad. Go figure iPad supporters working from iPads.but we can't edit posts.. Go figure. I know beating a dead horse. :)

How often do people use the tags though? I don't because I don't know what the available tas are. Do you just make them up? The few times I posted, there was no selection drop down or check boxes.
Tags are a nice way of filtering subjects. They will eventually become a great, and also a primary, way of searching for subjects and related subjects.
Yes, you do just make them up (if, when you're posting, you don't see a related tag, or you want to add further context to your post after selecting available tags). If you are going to creat a tag with multiple words, use an underscore between the words to keep them grouped together, i.e., tags_question.
When you start a topic, choose from available tags at the bottom of the text field, just above the Post Message button:
You can edit, change or add tags during the fifteen minute editing period following your original post.

Why does my iPad iWork apps not recognize some of the clip art I created in pages/ keynote on my Mac?

That is so odd, you too?
I managed to do it the first time I tried, I simply went into GoodReader, synced with my iDisk (I suppose that part is not essential, but that's where my files are), and then clicked "Manage Files" on the right hand side options, and within the menu, I select the grey Manage Files option (it's a bit greyed out, but selectable), then I select a .doc file on the rleft hand menu (i.e., list of files under "My Documents"). Finally, I select the bottom option in the right hand (Manage Files) menu, named Open In..., then select Pages.

  • How do I get a previous version of Apple software? specifically ios, iworks apps

    Hi all,
I have an iPad 1 that still has the original ios loaded. I don't want to load ios5 or greater due to excessive processor demand on iPad 1, slowing it significantly. However Apple genius bar tells me that the only upgrade available is the current version of the ios. Is there a way to get a previous version, like 4.3?
Also, on the iPad iWorks apps - Pages, Numbers, and Keynote - the current offerings in the App store require ios5. Is there a way to get previous versions that will run on 4.3?
thanks in advance for any guidance!

If you do a web search for "iOS direct download", you'll find sites that have links to a direct download from Apple's servers. Make sure of two things:
    1) The URL for the download begins with "appldnld.apple.com". If you see any other server listed, that would be some unauthorized site and downloading from that site will be extremely risky;
    2) You get the correct installer file for your model of device. If you get the wrong installer, you risk permanently disabling your device.
Once downloaded, install it by Option-clicking the Update button (Shift-click in Windows) in iTunes and choosing the downloaded file.
As to earlier versions of the iWork apps, no, if you didn't get the older versions from the iTunes Store before the upgrade required iOS 5, then there's no way to get them now.
    Regards.

  • No help in iWork apps on iPad behind a proxy

My MacBook Pro is connected to internet by Ethernet behind an autoproxy.
It shares its connection with my iPad through Airport.
This autoproxy is set on my iPad as Auto HTTP proxy.
In any iWork app on my iPad, when I ask Help, I got a message like: "The access to the Help needs an internet connection".
This is obviously a serious bug in Numbers, Pages, or Keynote which do not properly recognize an internet access through a shared connection behind a proxy.
    Any help welcome.
Message written on my iPas set as described above.

After activating your iPad, go to the App Store and search for your free apps:
    1. Pages
    2. Numbers
    3. Keynote
    4. iPhoto
    5. iMovie
    6. GarageBand
If apps are still showing the price: sign out>reboot>and sign in again
    Settings>iTunes and App Store>Apple ID

  • How To Get iWork Apps Free on iPad 4 Purchased in June 2013?

Since I've got my new 13" MBPr in June 2014, the iWork apps are apparently preinstalled, my question is, can I get the iWork apps free on my iPad 4 purchased in June 2013? On Apple Store on my iPad 4, the iWork apps show a price tag of $9.99 each. Any idea how to get those iWork apps free on my iPad 4 using same Apple ID?

iWorks apps for Mac and iWorks apps for iOS are different products, the apps only work on the appropriate operating system. They are therefore priced and sold separately.

  • HT4137 I recently bought an ipad off someone with her apps. i want to add apps from my account with out lossing the apps she has. please help

i recently bought a used ipad with apps from someone.  I want to down load my apps on to it with out lossing her apps. how can this be done?

You can download whatever you want by signing into your own account, but what ever was previously installed with the other account will be forever associated with that account. This will work until the apps that aren't yours need updating and the only way to update them will be to sign in with other I'd.

  • My iPad keeps kicking out of an app. How do I stop this?

How do I stop my iPad from kicking out of an app while I'm using it. Like while I'm playing Angry Birds it will kick back to my main screen.

I have the original iPad & have been having the same issue for weeks nowb I am really getting frustrated.
At first I thought maybe it was just the app & I needed to update it.
-- Nope. Not it. Not only did it not show up as 1 of the apps that needed an update, but it started happening to alot of my apps. Nothing worse than finally beating a level of your game & having it suddenly quit & lose everything.
Then I thought maybe I didn't have the right IOS.
-- Nope. Not it. I've checked in my settings & it says I have the latest (5.1.1).  Still not convinced, I plugged into my laptop to sync & hope there was an update. Nope. Says I have the latest version.
Then I think it's a memory thing. So I start going thru & deleting apps I don't really use anymore.
-- Nope. No help. Turns out I'm not even using half my available memory.
So I start researching what the Internet says latest IOS is. I find out it says the latest iPad operating version is IOS 6.
-- I get excited because I think I found the reason. Nope! Turns out that the original iPads can't update to the IOS 6. :(  They can't go higher than the 5.1.1 that I already have. Now I'm really not happy.
I decide to google my problem & see if I'm the only one this is happening to.
-- Nope! I find this is happening to a lot of people. I see all the different advice: clear the app tray, restart your iPad, check your memory... Though I'm grateful for people trying to help, none of it works. :(
I am really getting frustrated!!!! It's taken everything I have to not throw the dang thing off a balcony. I can't really enjoy doing anything on it anymore. Almost every game I get into, it randomly quits. Especially aggravating when it's a game that has limited play.
I really hope Apple fixes this!!!! I love Apple & all my gear is Apple products. But I don't really have the funds to just drop money on a newer one that does actually work. My iPad is still in perfect shape in every other way. I really can't afford to just go out & buy one because they don't want to give us a functioning updated operating system.
APPLE, please help!!!! I beg you!!!

  • Bought new iPad mini retina but cant find install free iWork apps like Keynote. Where can I find/install Them?

When configuring my new iPad mini retina last weekend I first ignored the questions on the installation of the free iWork apps.
Now I would like to install them but I only find the paid version in the App Store. What am I donning wrong. Or was it a missed opportunity and bad luck for me.

I had exactly the same problem but my son told me I had to update to the most up to date ios first.  Currently it's only got version 6.1 on it, and it didn't say there was an update available but when I click "check for updates" it started to install version 7.  I believe you need version 7 installed first, then if you go to the Store, it will say the software is free to download.   I'll check back once it's finished installing the update and let you know.

  • IWork apps is not free on my iPad

The apple website says that all iwork apps are free for all iOS 7 devices, but why it's not free on my iPad?

Settings > General > Restrictions. You have changes to accounts restricted.

  • I just purchased an ipad air and can't get the iwork apps for free as advertised.

    Just purchased ipad air.
iwork apps are still showing up as 10 bucks.
How do I get them for free like you are supposed to??

Go here to verify your device registration (you'll need to login using your Apple ID credentials):
    https://supportprofile.apple.com/
You can view your registered device(s) here and if there are any you've missed registering, you can do so that as well. You can also register new devices here.
Afterwards, visit the App Store and your free apps should be available to you.

  • My iPad keeps shutting down out of all apps.

My iPad keeps shutting down out of all apps.  If on FB, camera, messages, etc.  It will just go to a black screen and then back to desk top.  Could it have a virus, what should I do?

    Hi iPaduser58,
If you haven't already done so, you may want to restart or reset the iPad:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
    Restarting your iOS device
    1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
    2. After the device has turned off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
    Resetting your device
If your device stops responding, you can reset it by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If the above does not resolve your issue, the next best step will be to restore your iPad using a computer with iTunes. Please be sure to backup your iPad first.

  • I upgraded my ipad and it wiped out all my apps, music, photos, everything.  It won't sync with my computer either.  No content transfers. What to do?

After upgrading my iPad 1 to 5.0 OS it seemed to reboot and set my system back to the factory default.  I lost all my music, photos, and apps.  What the heck did I do wrong?  How do I get them back?  Nothing transfers when I sync.

Just experienced the same problem. If there was fine print saying "by the way we'll wipe out all our apps and content in your tools" I must have missed it.

  • Just configured my first iPad. Was sure I said no to iCloud , but now having tried out a few apps and then deleted them they seem to exist in iCloud. Why would this be ?.

Just configured my first iPad. Was sure I said no to iCloud , but now having tried out a few apps and then deleted them they seem to exist in iCloud. Why would this be ?

    They don't exist in iCloud.
iCloud is Apple's service for backups and App data storage / syncing.
Purchased Apps, when removed from the iPad will still appear in your Purchased history, and you can still download them from "the" cloud which is just a generic term for Apple's App servers.
Purchased Apps can de re-downloaded for free from the "cloud".  To allow you to do this Apple keeps a historic list of all your purchases so you can download them again should you ever need to without charging you again for them.
This has nothing to do with the iCloud service you can choose not to use. For Calendars, Notes etc...
    It is independent un unrelated.

  • I can't delete apps on my iPad does anybody knows how to fix it. Also I can't open any iWork apps ,they open but won't show anything.

I can't delete apps on my iPad does anybody knows how to fix it. Also I can't open any iWork apps ,they open but won't show anything.

If the whole iPad freezes then something else is going on. Try this next. Close all apps in the recents tray and restart your iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • IPad Air 2 : Issue with re-installing iWork Apps

    Hello All,
During my recent vacation, I bought an iPad Air 2 (64 GB). Since this was my first iOS device, I used my wife's Apple ID to quickly setup and use.
On reaching home, I created an Apple ID and made relevant changes on my iPad to reflect my ID.
But by mistake I deleted/uninstalled one of the iWork Apps, now when I goto App Store, it requests for a purchase. Why? Since iWork Apps are pre-installed on iPad Air 2, shouldn't it allow me to re-install these apps?
Could you pl help me solve this issue.
    Regards,
    Srinath

If you originally used your wife's account to activate the iPad then they will be tied to her account, only her account will be able to redownload them for free - though they were preinstalled on the iPad (as it's capacity was 32+ gig), they would have been linked to your wife's account when you activated it.
