Breaking long movies into more than one DVD

Help! I've created a movie with a bunch of chapters of a training that we did and now I need to burn it on a DVD but its way too big...how can I break it up into two or three dvds with idvd?

What is "...way too big..."? How long is the movie? I assume you're using iMovie HD (6). You should make movies that will then fit iDVD. Do you have a double-layer burner in the iMac?

HT1473 Often times when I copy a CD into my library it breaks the CD into more than one Album, all with the same name but with only a few of the songs on each. This happens whenever the CD has music with more than one artists...like maybe duets.

Burning more than one dvd

Anyone know of a way to burn more than one DVD at a time with DVD studio Pro if you have two burners in your machine?

It's not as easy as Toast, but works pretty well. There are a few extra steps to creating the disc image to burn from , but not too bad.

I am trying to organize my music and would like to put a song into more than one genre. So if I put a song into the categories "acoustic" and "blues" I would like for that song to come up with I search acoustic songs as well as when I search Blues songs. How can I do this?

Dividing a long movie into a 2 part dvd

Learning DVD Studio Pro I am having trouble figuring out how to divide a long movie into a 2 disc dvd. The movie is 1 hour and 40 minutes. Is it as simple as dividing the movie into 2 separate DVD Studio Pro projects, each with its own separate menus and menu buttons for chapter markers?
I want to avoid the dual layer disc method, as it causes too many problems for burning.

On a standard DVD 5 disc (single layer), you actually only have about 4.3gb of space to work with even though they're sold as 4.7gb discs.
The size of the encoded .m2v file is dependent on two factors; the length of the program and the bit rate used during the encoding process. The lower the bit rate, the smaller the file. Of course, lower bit rates sacrifice quality. But if your program has little motion (a seminar or talking head type of program for example), you can use a relatively small bit rate without losing much quality since there is little change from frame to frame. Conversely, a program with a lot of movement will require a relatively high bit rate to maintain good quality since so much information changes from frame to frame.
Normally I use Compressor to handle the encoding so I have full control over the various parameters of both the video and audio encoding ... I don't really trust DVD-SP to get it right.

I have entirely too many pictures in one PSE6 catalog. Can I split this current catalog into more than one catalog? If so, what is the easiest way to do so? Thank you.

How many photos do you have? PSE can handle a very large number, if you have then well organised.

Encore can't burn more than one DVD at a time: Sense Code 56400

For a long time now I've been unable to burn multiple DVD's at a time. I burn more than one and I get an error and have to make a coaster out of yet another DVD
I just upgraded to 24 gb of DDR3 PC 1600 RAM, I have an 6 Core Processor, I have 7.8 on everything accept my hard drive which is 7.0 out of 7.9 according to my Windows 7 Pro. 64 bit system.
I have 2 different DVD burners, one is a blu-ray burner too. I have the same issues, only different error readings it seems, on both drives. The first drive didn't burn even one for some reason so I tried the second. The second drive would burned 3 and on the fourth I got the errors' which I've included screen shots of below. I was surprised I got through three before I got to this error. By the end of the week I have a large project I need to make 30 DVD's of. HELP!!!!!
A long time ago on my older machine I had similar problems and I went through different drives and discs until I seemed to come up with the magic combination which seemed to be a Plextor burner and Verbatim. But, then i got a bad batch of verbatim and tried Maxell and used those successfully for a while. Right now I'm using what a friend gave me, TDK's. I'm wondering if that's what the problem is... HELP!!!!

I have managed to get it to work consistently now. I just burned 20 DVD's without a problem.
I tried everything you suggested except the imageburn software. I didn't like that site, I was too anxious to try and figure out where to download that software in the midst of all the advertisements on that site.
After clearing out everything in startup and services except what I needed I still wasn't able to burn successfully. Finally I went and purchased some Verbatim DVD-R discs and wahlah! Actually, after the first try with the verbatim I had an error code when trying to burn with Encore. So, I created and image file as you suggested and then I used Cyberlink's Power2Go to burn the image file and from there on it seems everything is solid.
I think the biggest problem was using TDK discs. I came to the realization a few years ago that certain disks are not as predictable as others and that verbatim and maxell seem to be the best. I did get one bad batch of verbatim though one time and that's when I switched to Maxell. My friend gave me 200 of the TDK's and I've been having problems ever since. But, I wasn't sure what it was exactly because he gave me those around the same time I rebuilt my system.
I had also found the Plextor seems to be the best bet for burners. But, I had been using an HP one lately and thought maybe that was the problem. However, now it seems to be fine.
I really don't know what fixed it. I mean, nothing definitely worked until I started using the Verbatim today. But, that first verbatim erroring perplexed me. I had done some other things too, like removed some programs, like a bunch of HP printer crap. I even removed my virus software, Window Security Essentials. I just reinstalled it so now I'm wondering if I can burn as consistently. I had seen somewhere where someone said they removed Windows' Defender to get theirs working.
Anyways, I guess what I need to do is format my main hard drive, only put adobe stuff on it, and then take my old computer set it up for everything else. That'll probably be the best thing to do... If I have anymore problems like this I'm doing that right away!

PC will no longer boot with more than one stick of ram.

My wife and I both own HPE 371f. We've had them about 8 months and neither one of us has had a single problem with it.
Yesterday though, I got a BSOD. I try to reboot, it goes in to recovery mode and freezes. I try to reboot again, same thing. It freezes up as the windows logo is on the screen. I start scouring the web to find out what could be the problem. All the fans are running, mobo looks to be okay, HDD is fine. I finally see the suggestion to update the BIOS. I can't even update now because I'm getting a blank screen. I turn the PC on and it just looks like nothing is getting to the monitor.
So I try a CMOS reset. I'm able to get the PC to the boot menu at least, but now it freezes up in the boot menu.
At my wits end, I finally see a something about RAM timing being off or something (I'm not very experienced with this) and they suggest taking out all but one stick of ram. I do this, and lo and behold I boot up fine. Every configuration of more than one stick of ram I try does not work. Any more than 2 gigs... and all I get is a black screen.
It's not a major deal being down to 2 from 8, but I would like to use the RAM is possible. Is this a hardware issue or something I can fix through software?
Some notes: No major changes over the last few days. I installed Skyrim, but I wasn't playing when I got the initial BSOD. I've had 4 sticks of 2 gigs since I bought the PC and I've never had an issued till now. All the sticks are identical. My wife's PC (same model) is working just fine.

I've been searching the internet and people are talking about updating BIOS to play Skyrim. It's worth a try. Please go to this site to (a) Select your machine (b) Pick the right Operating system. Download BIOS and apply to your machine. Hope this helps, otherwise please contact HP for help (is machine still under warranty ?).

In the past, I could log in to hotmail.com and open and view more than one email account in firefox. I must have closed something, so now I can't do that?

ofcourse it's possible to control more than one instrument at a time.
You should use the VISA routines to access all your devices. Every device get it's 'address' as 'VISA resource name'. This resource name contains information on the used bussystem and the (internal) device address (i.e. GPIB devices have an address number).
So I suggest to read the manual and to look at the examples that come with LabView!
And (from your question) it seems you should take the 3 or 6 hour seminar as well! (Look at www.ni.com -> academics.)

Can I move/rescale more than one still image all together, when they will all use the same parameter

Okay, basically, I like to make small, simple movies for my DVD menus. I make these with premiere CS5.5. They are just a series of stills as a slide show, with appropriate music. What makes these so time consuming is this: I have maybe twenty pics, which I take from MovieMaker as this is quick, simple, and they are not too large (and I dont know how to take pics in premiere, but you can tell me if you like!). However, they are placed by default in the centre, and I need them a bit to one side to make space for the DVD buttons. Also, still a bit big so maybe reduce to 90 percent. I presume they are basically JPEGS even though moviemaker calls them something else. So, I have to highlight each pic individually, open the motion thingy, rescale, and enter new figures in the position fields. Not a big issue as such, but I have to do it for each one and put my self at risk of repetitive strain injury! Can I do them all at once? Is there a way? Bearing in mind I want them all same size and position, so exactly the same parameters. First time, I thought EASY!! I will just group them all together and do it in one! Guess what? Grouping disables the scale/reposition facility. Grouping seems to be merely an aid for dragging things together on the timeline. Just a simple linking process. Photoshop lets me link layers in this kind of way, but also has the group facility that is more serious, and lets you do transforming and all sorts, treating it as one object. Is there a premiere equivalent of 'group into smart object'? I suppose what I am asking is relevent to clips as well as pics, and other facilities apart from scaling and moving. So, if you want to do the SAME process with the SAME parameters to SEVERAL parts of the project, is there a way? Or does it have to be one by one? I cant find a way apart from rendering and reimporting which wouldn't save a lot of time anyway. Thanks. HOWARD
PS if there is a 'snapshot' facility in premiere, please tell me how, and is it necessary to copy the footage and take the pics from the copy? I have always done this with moviemaker as I discovered that once snapshots were taken, it did (sometimes) damage the frame of the footage, Hence I make a copy to use for pic-picking!

I completey agree with Jim Simon's suggestion regarding a Premiere Pro solution. I think however I would choose to do it in Photoshop with a script - Record the following actions and then you can apply that action to selected images or even more handy, all photos in a folder:
Image / Size (to start exactly the pixel H x W you want for the image)
Image / Canvas size (for example anchor right or left, adjust width larger than current image, canvas extension color = black, etc.)

Can I download a movie on more than one computer?

I don't really know if I asked my question right, so I'm just going to ask it in here.
My computer recently broke down and I am now using the computer of my sister until mine is fixed. I wanted to download some movies on her computer so I can put them on my own computer when I get back. Is that possible? Or do I have to purchase it again? What I want to know in a nut shell is if it is possible to buy movies/tv shows on the computer of my sister (with my own iTunes account) and be able to download them again when I have my own computer back.ng

Because my sister's computer can't download HD movies from the store and I wanted to download it on my iPhone 4, but was wondering if I would be able to put it on my iPad, which I will get in about two months.

You buy one and only one download. It is your responsibility to move/copy/backup your purchases.
You cannot download it again, but you can copy it and put it wherever you like.

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.
