Bridge Cannot Find Photoshop

I'm running CS6.  When I'm in Bridge and double click a photo, I get the following error message:
"Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."
I don't know why it's looking for CS4, given that I upgraded to CS5.5 over a year ago and then to CS6 about a year ago.

Did you delete CS4?  If so some users experience file association problems.
First try edit/preferences/file type association.  CHange the extension to CS6.  If that does not work see this link for a registry fix.
I installed Photoshop CS6, then found CS5 was still there. I thought, hey, I don't need CS5 anymore, so I uninstalled CS5. then I found out that Photoshop was no longer available in 'Open with' when right-clicking an image...
So I went into the Registry, HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Photoshop.exe\shell\open\command, and changed the (Default) from "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1" to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1" (so changed CS5 to CS6) - and now I see 'Adobe Photoshop CS6' in my 'Open with' list when right-clicking an image...

Cannot find Photoshop CS6 even though updater informs me it is up-to-date.  OX S 10.9.1.
I go to updater and it says that it is up-to-date, even though I have uninstalled it.  When I try to reinstall, the download button is available, I click it, which takes me to the updater screen, and informs me that it is up to date, even though it is not in my application folder.  I have ben able to download Lightroom with success, but not Photoshop and other previously downloaded apps.

Chin Chin please see CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html for information on how to resolve your current difficulties.

  • Cannot find Photoshop Elements 11.0,exe

I made a mistake by deleting Photoshop Elements 11. I did it not the proper way. Then I tried to instal Photoshop Element over and over again but after installing I cannot open the Welcome screen because a pop up screen appears: I cannot find Photoshop Elements 11.0.exe.
However I can start the program by using 'Photoshop Elements Editor' but when started the program I cannot use 'Organizer'!

    Today I solved the problem.
    1. Every time I removed Photoshop Elements 11.0. I used Revo Uninstaller. After cleaning with Ccleaner and restart the pc I installed Photoshop Elements again. And the samen procedure again (4 times).
    2. This time I used Windows 7 software to remove Photoshop Elements 11.0. And Premiere Elements 11.0 as well. (I use Premiere Elements 12.0).
    3. Cleaning with Ccleaner, restart pc and reinstal Photoshop Elements 11.0.
    4. All necessary files are installed now and PE11.0 works!
Thanks for trying helping me out.
    Best wishes, Cees

my serial says it does;t work with Version 9… so it must be for version 8, which I cannot locate to download.
what do I do now ????

You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

As far as version 9 goes, if you never purchased it you shouldn't expect to be able to use it.  If you check your Adobe account online you might be able to find whatever version you purchased identified there.

  • When I try to open a .jpeg in Bridge CC2014, I get the error message cannot find Photoshop CS6.

I have associated my .jpegs with Photoshop CC2014. I had to do this manually. Now, every other program opens them in Photoshop, except Adobe Bridge CC 2014.
If I try to Open a .jpeg (or any other file associated with Photoshop) Photoshop from bridge, it says It cannot find the photoshop cs6.exe file. Of course not! I uninstalled it before I installed CC. Maybe two years ago. And now Bridge CC2014 goes looking for that as the CS6 default Photoshop.exe?

I finally got it to work by going into Bridge->Edit>Preferences>Default settings. After choosing a file that is supposed to open in Photoshop, I chose to change it and browsed to Program Files>Adobe>Adobe Photoshop CC2014 and manually linking each filetype to the photoshop.exe.
I have spent the better part of a week getting Adobe software to work again after the Adobe CC2014 install. I will never trust Adobe CC updates again. They failed to warn me that CC2014 installs as a completely different copy rather than an update of CC. As a result, I ended up uninstalling CC apps after installing 2014. A mess that has cost me more than *30 hours* of chasing around forums, manually re-associating files. Even a registry hack! Found by a user, not by adobe.
Ordinary users shouldn't have to do this sort of thing after a normal install from the Creative Cloud panel.   The genius software engineers at Adobe are being totally undercut by the keystone cops in the cc updates and install department.

  • Windows cannot find Photoshop CS5 Error in Bridge

This is really about Photoshop CS6 Beta but this error is generated whenever I tried to open a file from Bridge, either Bridge [12.1 or 13.0].  It was frustrating at first.
I tried to figure out why I was receiving this message.  Originally, I had Photoshop CS5 on my system.  Then, I upgraded to Photoshop CS5 Extended.  Finally, I installed Photoshop CS6 Beta.  After the last install, I decided to uninstall Photoshop CS5 which I no longer used.  These are 64-bit programs but I doubt that makes a difference.  Whenever I opened Bridge for Photoshop CS5 Extended or Photoshop CS6 Beta, the shown error would generate.  After reviewing the error closely, I decided to try and look at file associations but not in Windows as I had no problems elsewhere.  It must be in Bridge.
I went to Edit -> Preferences and found a File Type Associations section with every file type it uses.  Sure enough, by clicking on the triangle to the right of the file type, it showed only Photoshop.  By clicking on Browse and going to the Photoshop CS6 Beta folder, I was able to change a couple of the ones I use exclusively and clicked OK.  Afterwards, no problems.  To change each and every one of those is going to require some time on my part.
This brings up an important question regarding upgrades.  I think most of us upgrade before uninstalling the old version.  Here are my questions:
    1. Why did not the Bridge associated with the extended version change the file associations to the appropriate version of CS5 when it was installed?
    2. Why did not the Bridge associated with Photoshop CS6 Beta change the file associations to this version when installed?
At the very least, it should be an option but I think it should actually point to the new version.  Is this a bug in the Bridge software?  I know Bridge is used for other Adobe applications but this definitely seems to be a bug when the only application iis Photoshop.  I have Lightroom 4 also installed but this application does not use Bridge.  Can this be corrected?

Looks like bridge is still trying to run the old version.  Did you uninstall Photoshop CC after installing Photoshop CC 2014?
Have you made sure and fully closed Bridge and reopened it?  Logging off and back on would ensure that.

  • Cannot find Photoshop CC after download

Have used Adobe Application Manager to download Photoshop CC. It now says it is up to date but I cannot find it on my Mac. Where is it? Can I start all over again?
Double clicking on the icon within Adobe Application Manager does nothing.

Many thanks in anticipation for any help.

  • Photoshop 7.0.1 updater cannot find Photoshop file

If you run the Photoshop 7.0.1 updater and it says it cannot find the Photoshop file(s):
    1) Do a full uninstall and reinstall of Photoshop to fix any necessary components that may have been moved or deleted.
    2) If that doesn't work, please call Adobe Customer Support at 1-800-492-3623 within the United States, or your local Adobe Customer Support office outside the United States. Please have your Photoshop 7 serial number and valid proof of purchase available when you call. Most likely your serial number has been used by a pirate and disabled.
For other installation problems, please try the instructions included in the updater README document.

If something funny happens when you run the updater (like a DIFFERENT installer runs), try this:
    1. Delete all the files in your user / system temp folder, at this location. (USERID is your user login name, Administrator, guest, etc... )
    C:\Documents and Settings\USERID\Local Settings\Temp
Local Settings is normally hidden, so make sure to show your hidden folders.
    2. Run the Photoshop updater again, and you should be good to go!

  • Cannot find photoshop icon

I downloaded the trial version of photoshop cs6. It told me that installation was complete but now I cannot find where photoshop is on my computer so I cannot open it. Please help!

On Windows all installs produce an entry in the start menu, on Macs the program ends up in your Applications folder. If that's not the case, you need to provide more info and we can try to figure out what's going on...

  • Lightroom cannot find Photoshop as primary external editor

I have loaded photoshop and lightroom on my computer but, in the preferences dialogue window, lightroom says "photoshop not found" under the primary image editing option. I can find photoshop and set it as my alternate external editor but I can find no way to find and set photoshop as my primary. I would like to do that and then set Capture Nx as my alternate. Any suggestions? or do I have to re-install Lightroom?

Have look at this Adobe tech note:

(Try solution 2 first if it is Windows Xp instead of reinstalling Photoshop as suggested by solution 1.)

  • Bridge to PS CC 2014:  Error "Windows Cannot Find Photoshop CC" for PSD & TIFF files

Since installing PS CC 2014, I have been unable to open PSD & TIFF files from within Bridge.  If I do- I get the error above.   Once Photoshop CC 2014 was installed, I removed the older version of PS CC.
Sounds like a registry issue created when PS CC 2014 installed alongside PS CC; confusing Bridge of where to send Photoshop files.

Looks like bridge is still trying to run the old version.  Did you uninstall Photoshop CC after installing Photoshop CC 2014?

  • Cannot find Photoshop Album in My Pictures

I have been looking all over my C:drive for the Photoshop Album Starter and have located the program but still cannot access the pictures. The digital camera photos folder is empty, however when I open the actual program, the pictures appear. How can I remove the pictures from the Photoshop Album and put them back in My Pictures or on a CD?

I am trying to recall what I did Bob. I only know that PASE loads as soon as I plug the memory card in, and presents my photos on my screen. I have selected that it save them in folders according to date. Finally came the day when I wanted to organize all the pic folders, so in one afternoon, I created a few "collections". the consequences of what I did were immediate, so there was no opportunity for something to have happened from some other source or user. I remember being hesitant when I first saw "import" as an option, but I chose to try it for getting images stored in My Pictures into my PASE collection - from where I selected import, I now can not say, as I can not even find "import" anywhere except when I load my memory card, and I DON'T want to load any more of my photos now until I figure out what's happened to my old ones.
The really odd thing is, some of the originals ARE still there in My Pics, yet many others are reported as "missing". I don't know what the criteria was for removing the originals.
Bottom line... PASE does have all the pics in one place. How can I get them all back? It won't let me burn to CD, and even at that, I'm not sure if anyone would be able to open the CD without fist installing the Adobe programs. Can any other program access the pics once they are burned? How can I burn them?
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Cannot find photoshop.exe for my previous cs6 after installing CC

I owned CS6 before I subscribed to CC. I cannot run my 64 bit cs6 non cc version as the exe file is no longer there.  The 32 bit version has the photoshop.exe file, but  not the file for the 64 bit version. Yes, I am looking in the right places.
    Cc runs fine.
Apparently Cc overwrote something or?  How do I run my non cc cs6 without the photoshop exe.?  I have looked everywhere in the folders. There is a cs6 folder  I have treid the search function and there is no 64 bit cs6.
Also, since I cannot get into it, and I did nothing, I cannot deactive it in order to reinstall it.  Or can I not reinstall it without damagng cc?    How can I run both?

    check it on application folder

  • Cannot find Photoshop in my files!

I bought Creative Cloud a couple of weeks ago; when I opened the CC App installer it said I had already installed Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash (along with a few others). I remember I had installed their trial version, which had expired, so I bought the CC package. Now when I try opening the files they do not come up-they don't show anywhere on my laptop either! My applications however still show up as being downloaded. I can't access the three most important ones-Muse, Photoshop and Flash (I'll need them for schoolwork). This is hassling me a lot as I need to submit an assignment which I had started using Flash.
I am using a MacBook Pro. (If that added information is helpful).
    Please can someone help me?

Run teh Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool and try again.

  • For JCO , rfc gate way ,bridge, cannot find need help

    Hi!
I am not sure about sneak preview but who are you logged in as when you say "can't find sld"?
What happens when you try to go to "http://localhost:500XX/sld" ? Any message?
    Thanks

Have you check a common, trivial, issue with the connection? Connectors and cables that worked fine for ages start creating such issues.
    Some tips:
    * Try with another cable.
    * Connectors contacts get dirty, especially those that are often connected and disconnected. Not long ago a USB key and a USB drive were getting randomly suddenly disconnected. It even made my Mac OS crash sometimes. One the household must-haves, IMHO, is a contact cleaner spray. It does miracle on the connectors of your sound-system, your batteries, your computer, etc. I sprayed all the ports and cables, just in case. It solved the problem. Clean both sides, male and female. Do it as a regular maintenance.
    Hope it helps.
BTW. I used to have my RAW format pics (CR2) converted to DNG while being downloaded. Then Photo Downloader started messing them up, so I stopped and I now use the native RAW format.
