Bridge color tif thumbnails appear as partial B&W

Recently Bridge has taken my scanned color files, to which I made minor adjustment and save in PScs6 as a tif., and has given the saturation value as -100 for "reds", -100 for the "oranges" and -98 for the "yellows" in camera raw 8.3 HSL/Grayscale/Saturations. This shows up in the Bridge thumbnails. When I choose the image to open directly in photoshop CS6 no problem with the color. When I choose open in camera raw. The first thing I have to do is correct the saturation.. Is there a fix for this annoyance?

Curt Y
You know that using a MAC I select a tif image to open in ACR by using the command > r keys. When I do this the image that shows grey in the Bridge thumbnails opens in camera raw as the grey thumbnails I see in bridge which when I go to HSL/Grayscale/Saturations.  show the values as I have described. However when I select the grey thumbnail in bridge and double click it the image opens in PS CS6 as the full color image I am expecting to see from the bridge thumbnail through to the open image. So to be clear. In Bridge the problem images show themselves as partially grey until corrected in ACR. Saving them in PSC6 does nothing as far as their appearance in Bridge. It is a bit maddening. Check this out in your ACR. Take the values I have described and you will see what I see. Thanks for your attention. Hope this helps.

  • Bridge Thumbnails Appear Without Their Names

I am wondering why my thumbnails in bridge appear without any file name below them. I've tried everything I can in the preferences to show the thumbnail names but I cannot figure it out. When one of the thumbnails is selected, the larger preview is shown with it's file name, just not any of the thumbnails. This is effecting my workflow please help!!
How can I make the thumbnails appear with their file names listed???

    What OS? What
    exact
version of Bridge? Have you already purged the cache for each offending folder trough the Tools Menu in Bridge? (
    DO NOT
use the purge cache command in Bridge preferences!)

  • Is Bridge color managed?

My monitor is correctly profiled and the colors in Photoshop CS5 are correct and they print correctly. When I view the same image in Bridge, however, the colors are slightly more saturated and seem incorrect. They appear as they do when I view them in non color managed applications. Is Bridge color managed as is CS5?

do you mean the small thumbnails (no) or the Preview (yes)
if the Preview doesn't "match" Photoshop, then the image is likely untagged (or Ps is applying a different source profile)
i am pretty sure Bridge applies sRGB to untagged images for the Preview, and Ps applies its working RGB profile for all practical purposes (if we don't color manage it)
try downloading the IPHOTO TEST FILES and taking them into Bridge (and other file managers)
    PS
the iphoto tutorial images contain a low resolution 72ppi collection of 10 files of one image in five different colorspaces in tagged/untagged pairs

  • Date of creation problem after making Bridge create TIFs with PS Image Processor.

I went through about 100 files and did what I wanted in Camera RAW (started out with NEFs). Thereafter I had Bridge make TIFs of all the files in the folder using the PS Image Processor.
Now, looking at the TIF folder in Bridge, I find that about 80 of them has a wrong creation date (I checked the Preferences and I have asked for the date of creation - and not the date of modification). As I watch (several minutes) Bridge changes some of the dates to the ones known to me to be correct - but not all. If I close Bridge, restart Bridge and open the folder again the same happens, i.e. it starts all over. Even stranger is that the Windows Pathfinder have problems with the same files - i.e. does not show the date of creation at all.
The date of these 80 files are all the same - and they have been edited over several days!
I have done a lot of work on those files and would hate to start all over. I checked and of course the dates are the original in the RAW folder that I started out with.
I am sure that I do not have any bugs in my PC.
Can I remedy this i any way? I hate to have wrong dates on my files.
What can I have done to cause this? Can anyone help me? Thanking You in advance.

    Thank You again.
Yes, I have also purged the cache. More than once and again this morning. It does not change the result. Bridge still goes from the date January 13th 2013 to the correct date of creation when I look at the separate thumbnails - and back again when I scroll down the page and subsequently scroll up again!
Thus it seems that Bridge knows the date that the camera set but somehow this foolish January date keeps coming back.
All the folders with NEFs have correct dates - also the ones where I have imported the files from camera to pc in 2013! Only my TIFFs have this problem.
Rigth now I am having Norton 360 run a complete system scan. When that is done I will inactivate Norton (I know that I cannot have 2 antivirus softwares and firewalls run simultaneously on the PC) and instead run a complete scan with Lavasoft Adaware Pro. I have also used Norton Utilities and found no problems. Plus Malwarebytes Antimalware and Superantispyware. No problems.
If "date file created" is the date that the file was modified, it would not help me much. I often go back to a file and play with it again and if I have understood correctly, then this date would change again. I want to see the date of capture ("date created"). Also, by now the problem afflicts at least 1000 files. It would be impossible to do single file manual corrections of dates on so many files.
Update: While I have been writing this, an opened folder with only 36 files has changed the dates to the correct date of capture. I could also scroll up and down without the dates changíng in this small folder. But when I closed Bridge, restarted it and looked at the folder again Bridge again did need minutes to get all the dates rigth. Maybe I have a pc capacity problem instead of a software problem? But why on earth would this specific wrong date result from a too weak pc.?
Maybe I should just give up and reinstall PS?
Sorry if I trouble You with a ridiculous problem.

  • TIF thumbnail incorrect in Windows Explorer (PSE 7 and 8)

Sometimes when I save a TIF file (with “Discard Layers and Save a Copy” selected) the thumbnail shown in Windows Explorer is incorrect.
The thumbnail appears to show only one layer from the PSD I have been working on, even if that layer no longer exists because it has been deleted or the image has been flattened.
I have experienced this problem in Elements 7 and 8, and on a machine with a fresh install of Windows XP and Elements 8.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Lol.  Adobe has known about this stupid problem for about 4 years.  Since Vista x64 started gaining popularity.  Acrobat 8.x was the first version where people really started scratching their heads wondering why & when the problem would be fixed.  Then came Acrobat 9.   And now "X".  Still not fixed, well, I'm sure next year we'll have Acrobat 11, so keep holding your breath.

How can I get Bridge to display all my tif thumbnails?  Some display; others don't.  I've tried refreshing the view and purging the cache.

Can you be a bit more specific about OS and Bridge version you are using. Also can you state what the sizes of your Tiff files are (by default Bridge does not show previews and good thumbs for files larger then 1GB) . Maybe even provide a screenshot of your Bridge window with the problem tiffs?

  • Cs6 bridge not showing thumbnails for raw file

    Just upgraded to CS6
cs6 bridge not showing thumbnails for raw files.
Can see thumbnails in CS5.1 bridge  and LR 4.2 which fortunately i did not uninstall.
Bummer since I am up against a hard deadline.
    Really Sucks

We can't know. You are not offering any system information or e.g. info about what image files you are working with. Since they do show up in your otehr programs, my assumption would be that you need to switch the Camera Raw engine back to the 2009/2010 version in Photoshop and not use the default new 2012 one. Perhaps your thumbnails will appear then....

  • Bridge CS5 - creating thumbnails takes forever

I aleady read about Bridge CS5 being extremely slow. Yes, on my system it sometimes is slow, too. Sometimes it takes AGES to start up (not always), and the most annoying part is, it also takes AGES to create thumbnail previews even of a handful of JPEGs. (about 20 Seconds for 5 JPGs at about 2700x2200 size, 1MB each). Not to mention that CS4 Bridge was much, much faster (speed wasn't an issue at all).
The interesting part: There is neither much disk activity nor CPU activity. So WHAT is Bridge waiting for?! It's just sitting there doing nothing and the little wheel on the lower left corner keeps on spinning.
    This is mind boggling.
So there isn't any process "stealing" all the time, it's seems like Bridge is waiting for some kind of event or something.
When I click forth and back through the folders, sometimes the thumbnails appear faster (seems like re-selecting the folder triggers something)
Is there anything that can be done about that? I mean, I have TONS of images to browse through, but "browsing" is almost impossible this way.

Bridge isn't THAT slow. There's something wrong with your PC.
First, some basic questions: what generation processor has it got, and how much RAM is installed? How much free disk space do you have on each volume? Have you got up-to-date drivers and Windows updates? What do you use for anti-virus, and is it current?
If it's just sitting there with no disk activity, how do you know there's no CPU activity? How technical are you? If you're a bit techy, you could check resources with Task Manager, and try watching Bridge with Sysinternals' Process Monitor.
When you revisit folders in Bridge, it will use its own image cache, so it should be faster.

  • My thumbnails appear as negatives in Portfolio

    Hi,
I have about 15 images whose thumbnails appear as image negatives when I create a PDF Portfolio (see image below). They are either very blue looking or inverted...the colors are all wrong. They are saved as RGB color, though I didn't imagine that would matter since pdfs are good for both print and monitor. I searched through the Preferences, but found nothing other than Working Color Spaces, which I set to sRGB.
Can anyone tell me what's going on?
    Thank you!

Head to Settings -> General -> Accessibility and make sure the White on Black option is set to Off.

  • CS4 bridge displays jpegs thumbnails only

CS4 bridge displays jpegs thumbnails only
Can someone who may have seen this problem or experienced a silimilar issue explain what is happening to CS4 bridge. I just installed PC version of CS4 photophop. It appears that in bridge, only jpegs thumnails will display. Tiffs and PSD files only show up as icons. Also the file association menu seems to have disappeared. Now if I log in as administrator , everything works properly. All thumbnails display correctly, assoication menu appears and bridge will update fine. Does anyone have an idea of what is happening here??
    Joel F

Did this happen recently, or has it always worked this way?  If this is a new occurance some file may be corrupted and your best bet would be to reset Bridge.  You can do that by holding down Crtl and starting Bridge.  A reset window will appear, choose all 3 options.
One other point.  If you are using Vista and an external drive there can be persissoning problems, but this does not seem like it should be one.

  • Thumbnails Appearing Differently

    Hi,
Opened up Bridge this evening and the thumbnails seem to be appearing differently. Usually the writing of what the folders are appears underneath the icons, not over the top. I'm guessing I've accidently changed something but feel that is unlikely. Very difficult working like this so would appreciate any help from others.
    Best wishes, Kriss.

You probably have used the key combination cmd + T by accident and now have chosen the setting to view thumbnails only.
If you hit cmd + T again the normal view will be restored.
You can also go to the menu view and click on the the item Show thumbnails only that is now selected. If you click on it it deselects and you are also back to normal.
In Bridge preferences under thumbnails/details you can specify up to 4 lines with what information you want to be showing under the thumbs

  • Launching Bridge CC from thumbnails

Ever since installing Bridge CC I can no longer launch Bridge from a thumbnail.  Yes, I have done all the obvious file associations in Windows 7 and in Bridge Preferances. And i have clearned out all old preferance files and reinstalled CC twice.  Can launch Bridge fine and go to pictures but cannot launch by double-clicking on jpeg.  Open With gives me Bridge option but nothing happens--Bridge will not launch.  Help.  Thanks.

Sorry for confusion.  I was using “thumbnails” too broadly. L  Replace thumbnail with file, that is a jpeg file in a folder.
Even with PS and Bridge open if I click on a jpeg file I cannot get Bridge to launch while I can get PS to launch.
To be more specific, let’s assume we right click on xyz.jpg and select “Open With”.   I am given options of course and if I choose PS it will launch PS.  Same with Windows Photo Viewer. And others.
But if I try Bridge nothing happens.  Nothing.
Fyi, I have reinstalled Bridge CC three times and am running Windows 7.  This all used to work fine before I switched from CS6 to CC.
    Thank you.

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbnails. It can take 3 or 4 goes for this to work

  • Indesign problem : background color don't appears in the pdf...

    Hello,
When I export the document to PDF, the background color doesn't appears in the pdf.
I'm a new Indesign user. Ihave searched every where, but i have not found  tutorial about this problem...
    EM2C

How did you implement this "background color"?
If, as I suspect, you changed the [Paper] swatch, then you aren't seeing a malfunction. That swatch is non-printing, and will not show up anywhere but in the InDesign editing environment. To add a color in the background, you must actually fill an object with the color and position it behind the rest of the elements in your layout.

  • Deleted photo's thumbnails appear in N97's capture...

    Hi guys.
As the title said, deleted photo's thumbnails appear in my N97's capture gallery. I capture an image or two and when I go to my Photos > Captured I see tumbnails of images I deleted a long time ago. When I open a file I still see an image that was deleted ower a year ago.
Only when I click "edit" do I see the recently captured image that I should have seen in the first place.
I tried everything. Restore factory settings, delete everything the phone lets me in explorer... still the problem persists. Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Hi dtbsz,
We're sorry to hear you have been having trouble with this, but here are a few ways to thoroughly get to the bottom of your issue. I'm assuming you're using the defult photo app.
Firstly, connect your N97 using Mass Storage mode.  If you have Windows, open up the drive associated with the N97 under My Computer.  Before going anywhere, make sure you have your Windows Explorer set to show hidden files as well.  Go to Tools > Folder Options > View.  Somewhere in there you'll see a branch called "Hidden files and folders".  Select "Show hidden files and folders".  Hit Apply and Ok.
Now, you'll see in your mass storage drive a folder called "Private".  Open Private > 101ffc31.  Then delete glxmdstn.  Unplug your phone, and re-open your Photos app.
If this does not solve the issue, try the following too:
    1) Do a full backup, with user data.
    2) Do another full backup, but without user data.
    3) Reformat the phone.
    4) Restore the data from the full backup with user data.
    5) If the problem persists, reformat the phone again.
    6) This time, restore the data without user data.
Ensure you have the critical data backed up separately too, instead of relying on NBU.
Report back and let us know about your progress.
