Bridge Exe. preventing loading of Premiere_Elements_10 Programme

I  am trying to load Adobe Premiere Elements 10, Disc No:2 on my PC operating on "Windows 7 - 64 bit system" and keep getting this message:
"The set up has detected that Adobe bridge CS5 5.1 (Bridge exe) is currently in use. Please close all running exe(s)".
I don't have any CS5 or Bridge extentions open, so am unsure why I am getting this message, or why it is unable to load?
Hoping you can help!
Cheers
Miss Nipinski

Welcome to the forum.
Do you have any Adobe suite installed?
In Windows' Task Manager, do you see Adobe Bridge running?
With the various Adobe suites, that contain Adobe Bridge, the default is to load/run that at boot-up.
Good luck,
Hunt

    Hi again,
Helps if I give the correct link ! <br/>The press shift button appears to still work, but the option to start in safe mode from the programs listing of a standard install I do not think exists anymore.
Safe mode will start from a command line, (or a shortcut) and in some circumstances you may need to enter the full path name on a command or shortcut detailed instructions are at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
Remember (at least at this stage) do not make changes when you get the options list, just click on the continue button.
If you think that RealPlayer is causing the problem you could uninstall that for now.
Firefox recent versions are 3.6 4.0 (and 5.0 in beta). There is some debate as to whether creating new profiles or re-installing Firefox is the simplest method of troubleshooting and solving some of these problems, personally I use multiple profiles and multiple versions of Firefox, and tend to forget the required procedures are less than straightforward. For now at least try [[safe mode]] again.

  • FF15 hangs whenever plugin-container.exe is loaded in memory

I need help. Since at least in v14 and now v15, FF hangs becoming unresponsive whenever plugin-container.exe is loaded in memory, as monitored with Process Explorer of SysInternals. This happens in FF with all plugins manually disabled and with no extensions, loaded in either "normal" or safe mode, even after having reset it to default state in about:support. (The unresponsiveness is not absolute, since every some 90 seconds there is a brief refresh of the screen as indicated by an acknowledging screen change due to a prior click or mouse motion. (In this quasi-frozen condition, FF slowly ramps up its memory usage while plugin-container keeps alternating between two smaller vales in Process Explorer.) After some 15-20+ minutes, plugin-container unloads itself and FF starts responding again. If I then visit a page that triggers the loading of plugin-container, the described problem develops once more. Blocking the loading of plugin-container (e.g.,renaming or moving it out or blocking it with the firewall) hangs FF. The solution for FF 3.6.6 for dom.ipc in about:config does not work in these versions.
Ironically, the Mozilla support page about "Firefox crashes when loading certain pages" (http://goo.gl/i02Xz) is a page that loads automatically plugin-container and hangs my machine, so I had to enter the forums by selecting a different problem.
This occurs in a Windows-7 machine with sufficient memory (1025 MB physical, 1025 MB virtual) and a lean configuration (monitored and enforced with Autoruns and Process Explorer), which runs very well other browsers such as Chrome, Opera o IE9. I have been using FF since its v2 and would hate to switch permanently to a different browser. Any informed advice on how to fix the problem (or disable the plugin- container in a working manner) would be much appreciated. TIA.

<b>Solved by blocking the loading of Plugin Container . . .</b>
Searching in the bugzilla.mozilla.org site for text or attachments on bugs related to <i>dom.ipc.plugins....</i>, I encountered several references to a Windows environment variable <span style="font-variant: small-caps;">MOZ_DISABLE_OOP_PLUGINS</span>, for example in the patch at http://goo.gl/jYJKL. I then added this variable to the Windows 7 system environment of my machine setting it to 1. It works : FF15 no longer loads plugin container (and therefore does not hang) when visiting web pages that before froze the browser.<p>NB : As I discovered shortly thereafter in googling this environment variable, this method of blocking the loading of plugin container was already reported 3 weeks ago by <b>big_v</b> in the Mozilla support forum, http://goo.gl/v7prA. Chapeau.

  • Adobe Bridge CS5 Update 4.03 thinks bridge.exe is active

Was alerted to the latest update for Photoshop CS5. When I try to run the updater it comes back asking to 'Please close the following applications to continue: Adobe CS5 Bridge (Bridge.exe).
I checked task manager and there is no process active for Bridge.exe, or application.
I have restarted Bridge and closed it, as well as Photoshop in case something didn't close properly, and I still receive the same message. There are no hidden icons open.
I have restarted the PC, no change.
I am running what I think is the latest patch:
    Adobe Photoshop Version: 12.0.1 (12.0.1x20100625 [20100625.r.1146 2010/06/25:17:40:00 cutoff; r branch]) x32
Any ideas on how to get around this?

Thanks for the reply, if you read my posting carefully. You'll see there's nothing showing active, was the first place I looked. Sorry still having the same issue, as far as Task Manager, and hidden Icons are concerned, Bridge is not active, but the updater thinks it is. A reboot didn't fix the issue either.

  • Bridge Fails to Load Thumbnails

Bridge can not load a folder with 200 images in CR2 and jpg format. Getting answers from Adobe is worse than trying to penetrate the NSA. Anyone out there have any suggestions. I've purged cache, set the to the middle of the slider, clicked compact cache and Bridge still doesn't load the images. Color me frustrated.

Had the same problem recently when moving Bridge CS3 (and Photoshop CS3) from the old to the new notebook PC (Windows XP). The freshly installed Bridge refused to load and to digest the thumbnails of all the image files in a folder; instead it would create thumbnails only for those images currently visible in the Content pane---and slowly so. When scrolling the pane, it would start caching a few more thumbnails but still not all of them. When scrolling back to where I was before, it would start caching the previously cached thumbnails
    i again!
I tried resetting the preferences, purging the cache, exiting and re-launching Bridge, all to no avail. Eventually, the culprit turned out to be the .workspace file I created after installing Bridge 2.0 but before updating to Bridge 2.1.1. Deleting the .workspace file and re-adjusting the GUI's layout to my likings from scratch did the trick for me.

  • Difference between AcroPDF.dll and Acrobat.exe while loading standard and  custom plug_ins

    Hi,
I want to know the difference of behavior when AcroPDF.dll loading the PDF file in the internet explorer and Acrobat.exe application loading PDF in context of plug_ins developed by Adobe or Custom plug_ins using SDK.
When I am loading PDF within Acrobat.exe all the plug_ins (Standard as well as Custom) loaded successfully and working fine but at the same time if I am loading a document within Internet Explorer, behind the scene internet explorer using AcroPDF.dll which is ActiveX for IE to load PDF and it is trying to load plug_ins (standard and custom) but some how my custom plug_in is destroyed or currpted and it is not working any more.
I want to know how AcroPDF and Acrobat.exe using AcroExch.App class or using any other thing to load plug_ins?
    Thanks,
    Twinkle

  • How do i close CS5 Bridge.exe when Bridge is not open?

I can't download updates because Bridge CS5 application manager says "close bridge.exe" when Bridge is not open.

You have Bridge set to "open on startup" so it is running in the background.  To disable this feature it is in advanced preferences.
To solve your imediate problem, open task manager (ctrl+alt+delete) and click on processes tab.  Go down the list and look for any instance of Bridge.exe and close it.
