Bridge says image bit depth is 16 but PS and Camera Raw says 8!
When I view my raw files in Bridge the file properties says 16-bit image file as expected. However when I open it then Camera Raw says 8 bit. When I click OK to open it in PS it's still classified as an 8 bit image file. When I go to --> Image-->> Mode it says 8 bit and the top of the image document also says 8 bit. This happens to all of my raw files. What's going on?
I'm running PS CS4 from a CS4 Master Collection, so Bridge is the same package.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up Trevor. But why in heavens name is 8 bit default in a raw converter when that format is always in 16?! That's rather weird. When I opened the next ones they were all suddenly 16 bit by default in Camera Raw too, does this mean that the latter choise is always sticky in terms of that exact image format? Would be logic.
In terms of your XP question I've actually never needed any OS support from MS, so for me it doesn't make any difference. I'm sticking with it Sure beats W8 that I had the messy pleasure of dealing with at work.

I am used to that when I open an image in Bridge it will be opened in PS, with all preferenses I have done to the image. Now it opens in PS but without any changes i have don e in Bridge. Also when I open a new image I want it to be opened in Camera Raw automatically, both if a Jpeg or Raw picture.

DNGs produced from Hasselblad .fff files display a different image in Bridge and Camera Raw
Lately, not sure when this started exactly, Bridge CC (and Camera RAW 8.7) are displaying incorrect DNG images! Instead of showing the image I expect to see, I'll see an old image from days ago. This seems to carry on from Bridge through to Camera RAW. But then if I continue on to Photoshop with the image, it'll finally show the correct image.
I'm assuming this has something to do with DNG, because if I load another raw file type (like .fff or .NEF), it seems ok. Also it seems to be ok with DNGs produced from other cameras like Nikon D90.
My set up:
- Mac OS X 10.9.5 (Mavericks)
- Bridge CC
- Camera Raw 8.7
- Photoshop CC 2014
- Hasselblad H4D-50HI, I managed to fix the trouble by reinsatalling once again and running updates BEFORE opening bridge. It seemed that if I ran the update AFTER opening bridge I would get either an up to date status when checking for updates or I would get an install failure notice on all 4 updates that were trying to install. The updates were for camera raw, bridge and PS. I can't explain why but that helped a little. I also changed permissions on my whole user accnt to include read/write for all users. I can't say if this helped or not. I also had to go into my camera B/U files on a sepate HD and replace some of the CR folders I was using o nthe desktop. Still the CR files would not show a thumb nor a preview till I then went to each individual file inside that folder and purged the cashe for that file so it could repopulate the cashe yet again. This has been the strangest few days in PSCS6 history! Well my personal history. I will report back here if more quirks emerge. I would prefer quarks though....aloha, U

I redownloaded my Photoshop CS5 and Camera Raw will not accept my RAW files nor will the Adobe Bridge display the picture view of these files. A message displays saying it doesn't support this camera. I have a Nikon 5100 DSLR Camera. It always displayed them in the past. How can I get it to display these photos in Bridge and open them in RAW?

Help!??? I am having trouble with PS CS-6 displaying/ producing/ saving grainy pictures when import NEF files!!!

When I import all NEF or RAW files into CS6 from Bridge and Camera Raw from the Nikon D200 and D5000, they become grainy/ pixelated. However, RAW files from the D800 did not have problem. I set the Color Space in my Nikons to AdobeRGB, in PS Camera Raw 8.5 to AdobeRGB, in PS CS-6 ColorSpace to AdobeRGB, and Save As Jpeg with Max quality (12). When comparing between CS-6 produced file and the original, I can see a big drop in quality and the picture become grainy and pixelated. What can I do to make this right? Any help/ suggestion is appreciated.

HNCan you show us a screen-shot of the raw in Camera Raw that shows this noise, or if you only see it in the saved JPG, then show us a side-by-side of the raw in Camera Raw and the JPG? Show the same area of the photo and zoom to 100%.
It is normal for raw photos to have grain but you can mostly remove it with the Luminance Noise-Reduction sliders in the Detail tab of Camera Raw.
The amount of grain depends on the ISO sensitivity setting on the camera. -

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Installing the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo reinstalls the App Store for you. It's ok to do this even though you are already running v10.6.8
Restart your Mac after the combo is installed. Then try the App Store.
If that didn't help, if you have anti virus software installed, you need to disable that. And third party apps such as Little Snitch can prevent access to the App Store as well. -
iTunes says I have over 9GB free but when I sync it says I can't as i don't have enough storage and need another 1.3GB! it's driving me mad!! help!!
Check carefully. Perhaps you are trying to copy 9 GB plus 1.3 GB for a total of 10.3 GB. That would give you the message you see.

When you re-installed Photoshop, you also re-installed the version of Camera Raw which shipped with Photoshop - in other words you reverted to an older version of Camera Raw which does not support the D5100.

The D5100 was first supported in Camera Raw version 6.4.
In Photoshop, click Help > Updates to update Camera Raw. -

Camera Raw is not a separate application that can be identified and used separately from Photosho. It is a plug-in that is accessed from Photoshop or Bridge or Photoshop Elements. When you attempt to open a raw image the plug-in is activated if it is able to recognize the files created by the camera you used. However, support must be provided for every individual camera model. Updates must be provided with this new support. The latest version of Camera Raw that can be used with Photoshop CS5 is Camera Raw 6.7. You can find out what version of Camera Raw is installed by going to the help menu in Photoshop and then clicking on plug-ins->Camera Raw. If the version that is reported is older than 6.7 then you can click on help->updates and obtain an installation of the last version of Camera Raw you can use. If your camera is newer than what was supported in Camera Raw 6.7 then you will have to use the DNG converter or purchase Photoshop CS6, or subscribe to the creative cloud photography plan ($9.99/month).

I have got a problem with bridge cs6. RAW pictures from canon EOS 6 wil not shown. I only see the sign CR" and the name of the file. But i can open the pictures in camera raw. I am working with windows 7, 64 bit, photoshop is updated (13.0.1), camera raw version is 7.3

Camera Raw version is 7.3, when i open the raw-files by double-click.
It is curious, when i try to find out the bridge version by ckicking about bridge i get the information, " the operation could not be completed. And in german : das system kann die angegebene datei nicht finden ( means: the system can not find the special file)
If i click on the desktop-symbol bridge i get the information : Vesion 5.0.1.23 Adobe Bridge CS6, Date 9.20.2012, language:english USA.
When i trie updating Bridge by clicking Help-Update ,i get the information: Bridge is unable to check for updates.
The most likely causes for this failure are an inabitity to connectz to the internet or beeing logged in as a non- administrative user. ( but i tryd it asadministrativ user).
photoshsop CS6 is able to update, i get the information. All applications are ap to date.
Do you think, I should install photoshop again.

I have started Minibridge and i saw my raw files as pictures not as signs, than i changed to Bridge, where i saw my pictures too. Now Bridge is able to update and i see the menues of bridge in german language, (before in english)

Lightroom doesn't show a thumbnail image and when trying to import it says the camera format isn't supported. But normaly Camera raw 6.6 should cover the Canon eos 6D

ThanksNo, the older versions are not free. If you upgrade you will have to get Lr5 unless you can still find Lr4 for sale somewhere as it has been discontinued by Adobe. You can also use the FREE DNG converter to convert the 6d files for use in Lr3.6.

I will be using creative techniques to process and manipulate a large number (hundreds) of very large (80 megapixel) images captured using a medium format digital back (Phase One IQ180).
Final output will be digital fine art imagery printed using an Epson 11880 at large sizes (up to 60 inches x ?), retaining the highest possible quality and resolution. I will be using Adobe CC PhotoShop and Camera RAW as well as Capture One software. PhotoShop filters will be used extensively.
The Mac Pro needs to be optimized for the above purpose and be useful for at least five years. I plan to max out all the other options (RAM, graphics cards, storage). Performance is more important than cost.
The few discussions I have found that mention optimum core configurations seem to lean toward 6 or 8 (but likely are not taking into consideration my need for manipulating a large number of very large files), so I am looking to this foum for opinions.
