Broke my Zen Nano P

my zen nano plus is not working. It stopped working when i upgraded its firmware. the frimware installation wasn't complete. After that my Zen stoped working. It wont turn on. And its not detecting on my computer..not even on recevory mode...could u please help?

I am not a Creative employee so that is all you're getting from me on this one. If the player won't start and you cannot connect it to the PC then you cannot reload the firmware which is what would normally sort out this sort of problem. It could just be beyond repair.

I have read through countless threads here looking for the answer on what to do when...

Before I tried upgrading the firmware it would detect it as what it was -- a Zen Nano Plus. Now, however, I plug it in and I don't even get a notification that Windows detects it even so much as a generic device.
Everyone says: Revert back to an older version of firmware.
Question: HOW DO I ACCOMPLISH THIS WHEN ) I CAN'T TURN MY PLAYER ON AND 2) IT IS NOT BEING READ WHEN I PLUG IT IN?
Sorry about the caps, but I feel Creative is about to let me down after all these years. Did I waste money on this thing or is there an actual solution that works?
My friend's dad had this exact same problem. He took it back and exchanged it for another Zen Nano Plus and it did the same thing agan.

All this is Creative's doing, though, for their lackluster support for their own product. In one thread they specifically say Zen Nano Plus has no recovery mode. Why does it take non-Creative staff such as yourself to call them out and help with these issues? My friend's dad had to take time out of his day to dri've back to Best Buy to exchange it (TWICE). If only Creative would administer care in their own product support then threads centered around Creative's MP3 players being beat down by their own firmware wouldn't have over a thousand thread views each by people looking for retribution for a piece of junk they think they wasted their money on.

I've lost the battery lid of my ZEN NANO PLUS (black). There's a way to have it's I li've in Pisa (ITALY) and the shop where i bought the MP3Player (MEDIA WORLD) said me that thay have no a direct contact with you.
I very care about it cause it was a present.

Yes I am using players very often. I am listening daily?radio shows for a few hours and then I?am writing analysis and reviews of those shows.
If careful, they don't break. We have six of them here at my house?with no cover?breakage. The only one I gave as a gift, now has a broken tab. That owner just jamed the cover in place, so it was no surprise when it broke.
I think I am using the player normal and in daily situation - walking, in the bus etc... I have been able to find many examples of broken lid for Nano Plus that are available here:

Well I didn't mean in the sense of re-design but in a sense of a new model that will upgrade Nano Plus. If new model will have better battery lid I would immediately transfer to another new and fresh model.
What is the current status of Nano Plus anyway? Has that model been replaced by any other new-upgraded model in the mean time?

My Creative Zen Nano Plus bro

my Creative Zen Nano Plus mp3 player stopped working after i dropped the mechanical part. When I checked it, I didn't see any chip marks or anything, but still it won't work. Can anyone help me? I'll post up pictures if u need me too, and I'll show how it broke.

Zen Nano Plus Battery co

I've just broken the battery cover on my Zen Nano Plus and customer support say they haven't got any replacements available. They suggested I did a web search to try and find one!?Does anyone know of an source for the battery covers? I also wondered if contacting support in another region (I'm in the UK and receivedthe reply from European support)? might be worthwhile - or possible. Thanks?Ian

Don't believe the last post about getting a replacement battery door. I bought three?Nano Plus's?about 6 months ago and the tab on one of the battery doors bent and finally broke off. Zen Nano PLus song list probl

I had transferred about 00 songs into my zen nano plus but when I played it, I realised that I had lost alot of songs. Check the system info and it states that I have only 34 songs in the player. When i check back on my pc, it indicates that i have 00 songs in my player.
I owned the gb version and have only transferred less than half of its capacity.
I have the updated firmware and driver installed and my songs are all mp3 format. Therefore there shouldn't be a reason the player can't play my songs.

So after I posted my initial qns, I went through the forums and found out that flash based players couldn't handle too many folders. I had transferred my songs using wmp sync and by doing so, the player created folders for each individual artist and broke down further into albums. This would have been great for hdd players but not for flash based ones.
What I did was to just transfer the songs individually using the explorer. It's a tad hassling but it doesn't create all those folders.
Hope that this help for any other new users of zen nano plus or flash based player. Feel a bit idiotic answering my own question though.

Battery Lid for Creative Zen Nano Pl

I have bought two Zen Nano Plus (gb) mp3 players two months ago.
Unfortunately the battery lid broke on both of them. I was able to find that

Besides this problem, the player itself is fantastic.
I have tried to find the lid at the local dealer but they to not have them.
Is it possible to order the battery lid somehow - I am in Croatia, Europe?
Also another question - will there be in the near future be another upgrade of the Zen model (like that was Zen for Muvo) - if that one will have better battery lid I am interested thent o buy that one in the future too?
I hope that lid will be redisigned.

Zen Nano Plus par

I have a Zen Nano Plus, and apparently my battery lid cover broke. I dropped it by accident and the lid just cracked. It won't attach to the mp3 player anymore. The stupid thing was, I only dropped it at a height of 5cm and it broke. The mp3 is still fine and all, it's just that the cover won't attach, and it looks ugly without it. Plus, I now have to use some sort of material to stick it to the battery. It's disgusting. Does Creative sell spare parts for this? Zen Nano broken

I've had my zen nano for about 8 months I think, I got it for Christmas. Anyways it's been working fine and still works, but a few weeks ago it just broke out of nowhere. I've never dropped it and I generally take really good care of it.
Anyway, it still plays the songs but you know the wheel thing that changes the song forward or back? My forward doesn't work anymore. If I'm listening to a song and I try and go forward to the next, my player just shuts off completely. It also does that if I am listening to a song and the song ends. Instead of going to the next song it will shut itself off. I can go backwards and listen to songs, that's how I'm listening to it now, but the forward doesn't work. Although, if I will go into the menu screen (where you can change folders and stuff like that) it will allow me to go both forwards and backwards without shutting off.
Does anyone know if it's worth fixing or should I just buy a new one? I don't know if my warranty is over, probably right? I've had it for 8 months. Would it be alot to send it in to be fixed or should I not bother? thank you!
EDIT: Oh, and let me add that I haven't tried anything to fix it, like reset it or do rescue mode or any of that.. I didn't know you could do any of that before I came to this site. Should I try that first?Message Edited by holahanson on 08-9-2006 05:23 PM

Hi. I lost...or should I say I dropped the battery casing for my White Zen Nano Plus into the drain..*ouch* Does anyone know how I can get a replacement cover. I am living in Singapore..thanks.

Why have you bumped this - the answer given above is a good one?
Contact Support via email, tell them the clip at the end broke and they will send you out a new one. It is a known problem that these clips are weak so they don't seem to quibble about replacing them.

Problem with transfer and ordering of tracks on new Zen Nano P

I recieved my Gb Zen Nano Plus player on wednesday and transferred quite a few tracks to the player that night. They transferred fine, I was able to customize the playing order and all the songs play fine.
But since then, I have been unable to transfer tracks to the player or change the order of the tracks. The player is recognised when I plug it in, but I am just unable to do anything with the tracks!! I have plenty of memory left and it isn't anything to do with the USB.
I really need to know what's going on and how to fix it :-(

What error message do you get when you try to transfer the extra files?
Are all files in the root folder? If so see the FAQ.

Have tried to download drivers and software for Zen Micro. When I try to run it though, it does not install because it says that I do not have device connected. Have erased everything off of Zen Micro, but have not reformatted. When I attach Zen Micro to PC, Zen Micro displays "booted" & PC displays "Zen Micro" for a second or two, then switches to "MTP Device"?. Do I need to erase everything from the Zen Nano Plus first?2. What do you think my next step should be?Thx???

If you are referring to adding a secondary account, to a single device, then you can do this at system preferences >mail, contacts & calendars.

I am having a problem with my Zen Nano P

When I first got the player for my birthday it was great. I transferred a lot of music onto it and would take it to work out or just to listen to it. But like all people I got bored with the list so I deleted all the music and made another one. Well after three lists I can no longer sync it with my computer. I have tried everything. The USB ports are working, I can sync other devices up with my computer, but for some reason I can no longer transfer songs. Its not like other problems I have read about like man I can't transfer all the songs I want no I can't transfer any songs, and the player has been emptied.
So lets recap, no songs on the player, have tried Mediasource and Windows Media Player, and still can not transfer any songs at all. And I think my warranty has run out so I can't get my money back or get a new player.
Please help if someone can.

You are welcome. I am happy that the redownloading of the firmware helped you and fixed your problem. It is the first thing I try whenever my players don't do what they are supposed to do. I use my Zen Nano Plus mainly for audiobooks. It is a great little player.

How can I get my itunes library on my Zen Nano Pl

I have a large selection of music in my itunes library and would like to get them into my Creative Zen Nano. I also have alot of music on my hard dri've and am having a hard time getting it to load. Help!? Sloan493

Hi Sloan,
What format is your music in? If the music is in MP3 format then it should be fairly straightforward, you can transfer them across to the player and they should work. Where do you run into issues, and what happens exactly?
If the music is in AAC format it will not work, that format is not supported by the player. Provided the tracks aren't protected, you can convert them to MP3 first, and then transfer to the player.
