  • How can I create a working link from the home page to other pages?

Using iWeb, I created links on the Home page directed to other pages within my web site. The links are located in the main body of the Home page (on the right side) and are not included in the Navigation Menu. The links function correctly when I test them in iWeb, however, the links do not function at all after publishing to the internet.
Within the inspector, I have chosen, Link To: "One of my pages" and the appropriate page is selected.
The links within the gray rectangles do not function. The same links below the gray rectangle links go to a "Page Not Found" page.
See the home page at http://www.daleenstrom.com
How can I make these links function correctly?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I've found that using the "One of my pages" often doesn't work. Since you've published the site go to each page, copy its URL and use it for the hyperlink. I've found that to me more reliable.
Are those two links inside the shapes or just on top? Both of those items are one large image file. If you inserted the link in the shape be sure you've selected the text (might take a few clicks to get inside and select it) to use for the hyperlink. Also make sure there are no other objects overlapping each of the shaped with the hyperlinked text.
Also it appears that the entire text box is an image. Turn on iWeb's preferences to display the text image indicator:
and then you'll see the following on any object that will be converted to text once published:
The two links below work for me. Be sure to clear your browsers cache (CommandOptionE for Safari) and reload the page.

  • How do I start a second page that will be linked to my Home Page?

I am new to webdesign. I followed the tutorials and have my home page (index.html) all set up; now I want to add some pages that will be linked to my home page, but I can't find a tutorial that addresses this. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thank you, Mr. Monroe

Thank you Cowboy in Arizona, Nancy O., and Bregent for your responses:
I’m using Dreamweaver CS4, by the way. If my second page, as well as subsequent pages, will not look like my index page, especially if I want to use a different template, should I not start a new page, with File > New> Blank Page > HTML > Template of Choice > , etc. ?
If I do this, the next step is to choose a Doc Type. Which should I choose? I would guess that I should choose an HTML type, since this is the code that I have selected. Should I choose the HTML 4.01 transitional or the HTML 4.01 strict?
Then, in the drop-down window, under CSS Layout, which of the three selections do I choose: Add to Head, Create New File, or Link to existing File?
When I selected (by guessing) “HTML 4.01 transitional”, and then “Link to existing File” and then clicked on “Create”, the following message came up:
“You must specify the external style sheet that contains the CSS for this layout.”
This leads me to think that I have to create an external style sheet (CSS) for this page that would possibly also be used for subsequent pages. This begs the following question: Is the creation of an external style sheet (CSS) the first step in designing a new web page (if one doesn’t use the “save as” technique)?
I can appreciate why all three responders have suggested that I use “save as” to start a new page since using the File > New method appears to be quite complicated. However, the use of possibly various templates seems to require that I use the File > New method. Is this a correct conclusion?
Thank you all for your help,
    Mr. Monroe

  • How to create a link to a home page?

    Hi,
I would like to create a link to a home page, some thing similar to what APEX logon screen has at the bottom. Could some one please help me with this? I do not find any item to do this. Do I have to make a separate HTML region and put my HTML code into "source"?
    TIA.
    Regards,
    Tamas

Have you tried to do that? Create a html region and simply put you code in it:
    <a href="http://www.google.com">Google</a>
If you want more, you need to study the template layout of ApEx and eventually create your own templates.

  • Create Links on your Home page

    Hi,
When you create an new application its possible to create links on your home page.
Via this link you navigate directly to a page in your application.
And via the Page area you can continue adding pages to your initial application.
Is it also possible to create links (add pages) like this for an application created via APEX version 2.1?
    Regards, Robbert

    Hi Robert,
Yes absolutely, you can always edit your application and add things that you forgot to add at the time of creation (like extra pages, links, regions, items etc).
I suggest reading through the 2 Day Developer Guide if you haven't already -
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/appdev.310/e10498/toc.htm#
specifically a couple of sections about working with links to other pages -
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/appdev.310/e10498/build_app.htm#BCEDHHID
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10513_01/doc/appdev.310/e10498/build_app.htm#BCECEDHD
    Hope this helps,

  • Broken links on CCNA Discovery page

    Hi there,
I just wanted to bring attention to the broken links on the CCNA Discovery page. I am currently studying for my CCNA and was informed that there was a CCNA exam discount program offered by Cisco for completion of these learning modules. Not all of the links to the learning modules are missing, just a majority of them.
    http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/netacad/course_catalog/Certification_Exam_Discount_Program.html
Is this something that Cisco still offers or would the broken links imply this is an expired offer?
Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
     - Jonathan

    Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for bringing to our attention that the link is broken.  Will work to get that fixed.
CCNA  Discovery is a four course curriculum  offered within the Cisco Networking Academy Program.  Students who participate in Networking Academy, have access to a discount voucher upon completing the final assessment with a specific score or higher.
If you are currently a Networking Academy student, your instructor should be able to activate the exam and then you can try to qualify.  If you are not a NetAcad student, you are not eligible for a voucher.
    Does that help?

  • PWA 2010 - unsubmitted timesheets link on PWA Home Page

Not sure if this is a bug, or if there is some thought to the design that I'm not seeing: The "unsubmitted timesheet" link on the PWA Home Page (You are the timesheet manager for resources with XX unsubmitted timesheets in periods ending prior to MM/DD/YYYY)
take you to the Approvals page.. I would expect it to take you to the Timesheet Adjustment page instead.
Is there a reason for this that I'm not seeing? Or is this a mistake/bug?
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the reply, Paul!
I don't get the design. What's the thinking here? If you're clicking on a link that says "unsubmitted timesheets", why would you expect to be taken anywhere but to see the unsubmitted timesheets? It seems like the Approvals page, where you're going to see
timesheets which HAVE been submitted, is pretty much the last place you'd want to go.
    Am I missing something?

  • CNET links work on home page but sub pages require a refresh

Ever since the last update, when I'm reading the main page on CNET news site everything works fine. When I click on a link to an article a sub page comes up but none of the comment links on that page will work (for example the comment links and "like" links at the bottom of the page). The normal links to other articles seem to work.
If you want to comment or click a "like" link you have to refresh the page. This is FF 3.6.11 on Windows XP 32 bit.
This was not an issue until FF was last updated.

Although you are correct in that booting the browser in safe mode did correct the issue, I had no desire to start troubleshooting what addon or plugin was responsible for the issue. I did update Java.
Today there was another update for FF, and when this update was done the issue was corrected. Because of this, and since I really don't have time to be troubleshooting browser issues, I have disabled all the automatic updates in all the FF browsers in our shop, and at home. I am only going to update them if there is a significant change. I realize this may be a security issue, however I just cannot spend the time required to correct issues caused by browser updates. Again, I realize issues can be caused by the plugins not "following the rules" and not being updated but even so I cannot justify spending huge amounts of time correcting issues that would not happen if I did not update the browser.
Thanks for your time helping me with this problem. I will not be updating any more unless I read about a serious problem that has to be corrected.
