Browser auto fit screen size

Hi. I want my browser window to fill the screen when someone enters my site. I have no idea how to do this, any tutorials anywhere. thanks guys.

Do you mean you want your design to fill the browser window, or are you wanting to force the browser window to take up the whole screen? If the latter, please don't - most people absolutely hate having control of their browser window taken away,  even if their browser will allow it.

    Usually websites fit my screen size but after I uninstalled my ATI mobility M6 driver, and then they didn't anymore and now I have a horizontal scrollbar . I tried reinstalling the driver but that didn't solve the problem.

    What size and type of monitor?
    What screen resolution setting are you using?
    Have you tried selecting a larger resolution setting?
    All web pages, or just certain web sites?

    Do you see a Scaled option next to Resolution: ...?

  • How do I fit my browser to my screen size

    Hi everyone,
    So I'm wondering how I can open safari and have the entire page cover my screen. Also, I'm using MS word, and it only takes up half my screen in full screen mode. It's my second day on a mac ever and I'm loving it just not used to it.

    Apple should have included a optional "hold option and click the green button" for full screen override mode a long time ago.
    Some programs will interpret the green button click as to fill the screen and others not.

  • Word Processing document to fit screen size.

    Hello.
    I have opened Appleworks and then opened a new WP document to start work on. The problem is it is only filling a third of the available screen. It appears to be a real waste. I want to work on the document while it is displayed using every available inch of the screen. So it is in what I call 'real-time size' on a 12 inch notebook. I am fairly used to using Microsoft Office, but as you can tell from this post have had very little time with Appleworks or Mac's. I'm sure there is a very simple solution, and if somebody could help me using very simple language I would most grateful.
    Thank you in advance.
    iBook G4 12 inch   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    Appleworks does not have an automatic zoom feature that will enlarge the text so that it spans the width of the window. However, you can manually increase the zoom level so that the text appears larger in order to fill up more of your screen. Changing the zoom level only changes how large things appear on screen, not how large the text is on the page (like in Word).
    To increase the zoom level, you use the buttons found at the bottom left corner of the window. You'll see a small rectangle that displays the zoom level. At first, it will read '100'. If you click on this, it will give you a pop up menu with percentages ranging from 25% ro 800% and a choice for other. When you first click you may only see numbers smaller than 100%, but if you point the mouse at the triangle at the end of the list, it will scroll down the list so you can see the rest of the choices.
    Directly to the right of this '100' you will see two small buttons with what looks like a filled line chart. The first has small "peaks" and the second shows higher "peaks". As you might expect, the first is to decrease zoom level, the other to increase zoom level.
    You can use these controls to change the zoom level so that you fill the whole screen to your liking.
    BTW, the next button after the zoom controls is the on which hides and shows the tools (same as "Show Tools" under the Window menu). You can also double click on the 'Page 1' to bring up a dialog that lets you enter a number to jump to another page.

  • Fit screen size on Photoshop CS4

    I know there is a similar post related to this but my laptop resolution is 1366 x 768 (highest possible) and my OS is window 7 home premium.  When I use the liquify function on CS4, the liquify screen will not fit to my laptop screen.  I cannot access to the scrollbar at the bottom when I zoom in to the image.  Is there a way to fix this thing?

    Two ways right off hand:
    1. Set your taskbar to Autohide.
                    or
    2. Use the Fullscreen mode in photoshop.
      (press the F key once to get fullscreen)
      (press the F key twice to get back to the regular screen)

  • Desktop size no longer fits screen size after restart

    Since restarting my iMac today, I cannot get to a full image of everything on the desktop anymore at the resolution setting I used before (second highest, 1344x840); and when I choose full resolution (1680x1050) the desktop only covers 2/3 of the screen. In the closest setting to filling the 20" screen (1344x840) the desktop is slightly larger than the screen (bottom or top cutoff)
    The letter and picture image also seems slightly more blurry in 1388x840 than before, probably because everything is blown up a bit beyond what it should be.
    Regardless of what resolution I choose, every time I move the mouse in one direction, the desktop moves slightly in the opposite direction, stopping only when it reaches the border of the screen (like when you use really magnified settings.)
    I did not change a thing since shutdown last night, nor have I ever experienced anything like this before.
    Any remedies? (I did disk utilities/repair but nothing changed)
    Thanks,
    PP

    Hi PP: Try this: System Preferences > Universal Access, and turn Zoom off. Or, hold the Control key and scroll downwards.
    Hope this helps

  • How to make pages fit to any screen size

    Is there a way to make the pages stretch or condense so that it fits any size screen? I've found where I can adjust the px size of the individual pages but I get white borders at the left/right and bottom edges of the screen that vary depending on the monitor size that I am viewing the page on. Is there a fix for this? Thanks.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. By screen size do you mean browser window size? If so you can get rid of the white around the body of the page by using a solid color or tiled image for the browser background which is set in the Inspector/Page/Layout pane.
    Or, if you want the page background to be the same as the browser background do the following;
    1 - set the browser background to what you have the page set to.
    2 - set the page content background to transparent.
    Now the page background will fill the browser's window no matter what size it is. That's how I have my tutorial site setup: http://toadstutorials.info.

  • Need background to fit on all screen sizes

    Hi
    I have got one of websites live digital-colours.co.uk but the background looks different on different screen sizes, I am just looking to see if any of you have an idea how I can make it fit on all screens.
    Thanks

    Hi Faye,
    you could have a look here: http://johnpatrickgiven.com/jquery/background-resize/ (You have to wait a little bit until the image is completely built.) On the other hand you should have a view to your site in a global way with critical eyes with "Google labs - Browser Size":

  • Cannot adjust page width to fit to screen size on some PCs with IE

    Hello friends, I am using APEX 4.0 and IE9 on different Windows 7 PCs . The page will go way off the screen to the right on one PC, and fits nicely inside the screen on another PC. This problem does not occur in Firefox on any PC. I have used Firebug to try to isolate the template or css settings. Using Theme_4, I have a breadcrumb region and 4 reports regions. One of the reports regions is in column 1 and 3 regions are in column 2. Display point is Page Template Body (3. Items above region content) for all the reports regions. The CSS is #themes/theme_4/css/theme_4_0.css. The template is One Level Tabs (Right Sidebar/Table Based). I tried various width="" using px and % under Edit Page Template-Definition-Body (see below). I tried style="width:800px" within the <div> tags. I have tried various other changes to theme_4_0.css and apex_4_0.css with no visible change to the page width on the obstinate PCs. I reset IE setting and deleted all personal settings on both PCs with no changes to either one, one fits on the screen and the other does not. The issue is that most of our users use IE so most of them will have to live with using the horizontal scroll bar to see the regions in column 2, unless we switch them all to Firefox (not a bad option, except that option works for our users only, we have no control over external browsers). I have tried suggestions from many discussion threads, as this problem has bothered us for quite some time. I know this is an IE problem, but any help is appreciated. Thank you.
    "|" represents screen size and "-" is the regions/content for the "bad" PCs.
    |----------|----------
    The "good" PCs look like this:
    |----------|
    Peter
    <div id="body">
    <table class="tbl-body" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" summary="">
    <tbody>
    <tr>
    <td class="tbl-main" width="100%">#REGION_POSITION_02##BOX_BODY#</td>
    <td class="tbl-sidebar">#REGION_POSITION_03#</td>
    </tr>
    </tbody>
    </table>
    </div>

    BD...
    I think your concerns are very reasonable. But I want to sort of refocus things a little bit for you here... it's not really a PC vs Mac issue... Rather, it's specifically an Internet Explorer issue. And you might say that this is synonymous...still 98% of the world uses IE, and you would be correct. Hopefully when the final version of IE7 comes out, it will finally embrace some of the modern day OPEN web standards without trying to make too many standards of its own (this is Microsoft, though).
    Anyways, in the meantime, I guess we all try to make the best of it. It's very easy to conclude that iWeb is not a viable tool for you, as long as you have something else to "fall back" on. With my limited knowledge of all things HTML, I have no such luxury. Instead, I have put up a notice on my site for IE users only that the site might not look its best on IE....this notice also encourages IE users to use FireFox, which is very much like Safari and will in 99% of cases display your iWeb pages just like you expect. You can see how I've done this here (but you have to surf from IE)... http://blog.dirtdoog.com
    I think many people in the PC world understand the limitations of IE. Certainly many don't, but you have to consider your likely audience, I guess. I believe that your website content is king. If your content is compelling enough to your intended audience, they will jump through hoops to see it in its full glory....but you have to make them aware of the problem. That's why I have chosen to take the path that I have taken.
    Let me know what you think.

  • How to adjust the AICC compliant CBT's to fit all screen sizes across browsers in Captivate 4

    Hi,
    I have made changed my Adobe Captivate 4 files to be AICC compliant by changing the Settings in Preferences.
    When I publish the files, the standard.js file no longer adjusts the CBT's to fit all screen sizes across browsers, as it was doing before by adding the below code -
    <style type="text/css"> html, body, #CaptivateContent { height:100%; }
    body { text-align:center; margin:0; padding:0; overflow:hidden; }
    </style>
    Is there a way to scale Adobe Captivate AICC compliant files across different browsers?
    Thanks!

    That code doesn't go in the standard.js file but goes in the head of the HTM template used for AICC output.
    Look in your Captivate install directory for the Templates > Publish > AICC > Default.HTM file and add the code there.
    If you want 300 more troubleshooting tips for Cp, you'll need to read the book:

  • How to make website fit any screen size?

    Hello all!
    I am trying to make my website fits any screen size (desktop, tablet, mobile)
    In Dreamweaver cs6, I go to file -multiscreen preview – Media Queries- make a CSS file for (site-wide) and click on the Default Presets and then find my CSS files for phone, tablet and desktop. But it does not work for my website, my site does not respond to the size of desktop, tablet or mobile. Can someone please help? Thank you.

    The main rule to follow for a responsive design is be flexible.
    That means no rigid dimensions, no absolute positioning and images that respond to the width of their containers.
    The following typically breaks the rule of flexibility
    #apDiv35 {
        position: absolute;
        width: 200px;
        height: 115px;
        z-index: 1;
    That is but one example from your document out of more than 40.
    If you want a leg up regarding responsive design, have a look at http://www.dmxzone.com/go/21759/dmxzone-bootstrap/

  • Screen Size not fitting in the Window

    For some odd reason, yesterday my MBP display started acting up. Regardless of the dimensions selected, the screen size will not fully fit in my display. As I move the mourse around the screen, the display area shimmers. At times the top menubar is not visible.
    It's like it only displays about 1420 x 880 of a 1440x900 resolution at one time. Ditto for other screen resolutions.
    All is up to date. I do have Parallels on this computer, but I don't think this is causing the problem. (It also ccurs when Parallels is not launched)
    It might have occured when I tried to sync into an LCD Projector and had mirroring turned on ???
    Anyone else experience this bizarre behaviour?
    larry

    Excellent Larry... as always, a pleasure
    It's a very useful feature to know. It enables the user to zoom right in for a close-up and right out again. After it's enabled via the key combo in my previous reply you simply press Command(Apple) + Option(alt) + = to zoom in and Command(Apple) + Option(alt) + - to zoom out. When you move the cursor the screen moves also. As you've discovered pressing Command(Apple) + Option(alt) + 8 disables/enables the feature.
