BSI Message and Status

When I simulate a payroll for an employee and review the processing for taxes; there is a BSI message: The system calculated tax results for the Bridgeville Local Services has been adjusted due to a substituted tax amount/rate.  When I look at the information under the BSI Interface node in the processing; I see an entry VDC AT: 9.  So I assume SAP's programming logic is passing this to the BSI Interface.
As a result of the message the Local Service Tax(work tax area) for this employee is not pulling in the prorated amount. It is coming in as a lump sum($52.00 as opposed to $2 per pay period amount).
Has anyone else experienced this BSI message and situation? What is the best way to resolve this?
Thanks,

Hello Vineeth,
For information refer to BSI webpage under Product Documentation -> User Documentation -> BSI TaxFactory Client/Server User Documentation 8.0 -> Messages.

  • SAP GUI 7.20 and Animated Messages in Status Bar

    Hello Experts,
    Is there a way to disable "animated" display of messages in status bar when Signature Design is active? Currently messages are scrolled from left to right and then fade in. (Please note that this is a different from "Animated Focus" or "Animation" feature and only unique to Signature Design Theme). It would be nice to disable the animation so messages are immediately displayed without disabling Signature Design. I have asked this question in the past and there was basically no way to accomplish this. Is there any hope that this would be included in future patches for SAP GUI 7.20?
    Thank you!
    Abdul

    Daniel,
    Have you had any luck with this issue?  We recently installed SAP GUI 7.20 patch 2 and are having similar issues.  While working in t-code SWDD, "Workflow Builder", I am automatically logged out of SAP and the LOGON pad also closes out and I forced to sign back in.  This is happening when I drag and drop an event into a step and enter in information that should normally prompt a warning/error message after hitting the "Enter" key.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Automatically highlight the next message and remove the "unread" status

    In my inbox on Ipad, when I  swipe and delete a  message or highlight the message and hit the delete icon in the upper right corner, it will automatically highlight the next message and remove the "unread" bullet next to the message. This is version 7.1. Is there a way tnot to have your messages marked as unread when you haven't read them yet?

    You can hit the small flag icon and mark it as unread yourself.

  • ALV Report - Field Overflow message in status Bar

    Hi
    I am trying to display ALV report , ALV report is displaying fine but on execution of report , an message in status bar is coming as "Field copy Number can not be totalled because of field overflow."
    Can anyone tell why such messgae is comming?
    Thanks,
    Debadatta

    Just a wild guess, treat the below as an example.
    Eg:
    assuming one field in the output is of length 2 type i.
    values: 20, 30, 60, 45.
    Totalling the values result as 155. but due to the length of the field as 2. We can encounter the overflow message.
      Considering the above example, manually total the values of your numerical columns and see if any of the column is execeeding the specified length.

  • With Reports 10G can you customize you message and stop formatting?

    Oracle, states to come here for answer. they said, OTN should be able to help.
    If any one knows how this can be done can you please help me out?
    thanks,
    We were told this was fixed with 10G so we upgraded to 10G. We have a
    report and we want it to execute if it's less than 10 records if not we want a
    message to come up that the report needs to be scheduled.
    Well we run the report and it displays exceeded record count but the format
    still runs so no time saved on the web.
    If the record count was exceeded we want to HALT the system and not go any
    farther.
    Now if we could modify the system message 1825 we would be o.k. But we don't
    know if that is going to work. If we could change the message we would be
    o.k. with that. that would mean changing the system codes though.
    ### How is the Report being called (Command line, URL or via Oracle Forms): ###
    If false comes back in the beginning then we don't want any report formatting
    to be done. Right now the format is done it seems but no data is displayed
    because criteria isn't met.
    So we dont wnat the formatting to be run when criteria isn't met. But for
    some
    reason it still runs and takes time.
    See we have some reports on the web that can only be ran by date range right
    now the clients can only run the reports for a 6 months range.. Well some
    clients have a lot smaller record count. So we want to change the way the
    reports are ran to a records count. If the count is large than said amount
    then a message comes up that states the report has to be scheduled. If the
    amount is under said amount then the report runs.
    So at this time in the report we do a count then we move onto will the report
    run or not if over the amount we want to abort the process but we don't want
    the client to see the abort. We definately don't want the client to sit and
    wait for the format to run when NO Data is to be returned.
    ### Error messages and error scenario: ###
    So what we want is too see a message "Schedule the report count exceeded" and
    NO formatting done. If under amount we want the report to run.
    ### Provide a detailed step-by-step description of your problem or question: ###
    Or is there a way to customize the messages the client / users will see. And
    no formatting time for no records returned.

    New info : Can I get detailed steps about how to customize the system message
    or hide the message when we abort the report?
    21-SEP-04 15:38:39 GMT
    Hi Darlene!!
    As talked to you on phone, here are the steps for you to try.
    The below has been run as a test case using emp table in scott schema of a database
    1) create a summary coloumn say cs_1 in the data model.
    2) point the function to count.
    3) Point the source to what ever's count you want it to be pointed to(say empno of emp table of
    scott schema)
    4) create a user parameter say NO_ROWS
    5) in its property palette make its data type number and initial value as 1
    6) I had teh following query for my report:
    select empno, ename from emp
    where rownum <= :no_rows
    This means that the report that will be generated will consist of a total no of NO_ROWS(that we
    shall be specifying at run time). The before report trigger(mentioned in 7 below) shall assure
    that whenever we specify NO_ROWS greater than 5 then the report will display a customized pop up
    message.
    7) create a before report trigger as:
    function BeforeReport return boolean is
    user_excp EXCEPTION;
    begin
    if :cs_1 >5 then
    raise user_excp;
    return (false);
    else
    return true;
    end if;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN user_excp then
    SRW.MESSAGE(30, 'Data is more please schedule this report:');
    raise SRW.PROGRAM_ABORT;
    return (false);
    end;
    This way when u run a report, an argument is asked whether how many rows do you want to be
    displayed as in the parameter NO_ROWS. then you specify the number. If that number is greater
    than 5(in this case, due to if :cs_1 > 5 then....) then it will pop up a message saying "Data is
    more please schedule this report:"
    In case you do not want to specify NO_ROWS..then you need not put that and modify the report
    query as "select empno, empname from emp;" i.e. without where clause.

    New info : Information from the person that did this suggestion step by step.
    I tried this step by step, but unfortunately, it doesn't work the way we want.
    First with this suggestion, the user needs to choose how many records they
    want
    to get, or we default a number of records, in order to run the report. The most
    important thing is, whenever you specify the statement return false or raise
    SRW.PROGRAM_ABORT in the before report trigger, the system message will pop up.
    I really hope that people from Oracle would let us know how to customize the
    system message or hide it.

    New info : I just thought that we have some sort of message, which I guess is
    from the database, when we do claim search on client inquiry. I am just
    wondering if we could try the same thing to the report.
    The some sort of message looks like this on dev box:
    Your search exceeded 5000 records and will surpass the capabilities of this
    connection. Please narrow the search criteria and resubmit.
    It's just a thought, not sure if it's going to work.
    When could we have the DBA Make this change. The servlet.properties???

    =======
    Hi Darlene,

    23-SEP-04 18:49:28 GMT
    Hi Darlene,
    I am sorry to say that but I don't think there is any any workaround to this because the system message is what is generated by the oracle reports i
    nternally. Still if you wish you may refer to the otn discussion forum which is
    maintained by teh product management group and post a new thread on it. the link
    to the forum is Reports
    Also since nothing can be done on our side I don't see any reason to keep this TAR open an
    d if you wish we can soft close this.

    New info : Shouldn't there always be a way to do something? I don't understand

  • Sending An Error Message as Status Message

    Hi,
    I have a selection screen which was (Object Oriented program ) defined through Function Group and calling via Function Module. when the transaction Starts with selection Screen and we have few buttons on the selection screen, when we enter data and we need to press F9 we are validating the data and we need to give an error message, i am doing same, but the error message was coming as pop-up, once i click on the pop-up it is getting out of the selection screen. but actual requirement was it has to stay

    Is there any way to give the error message as status message instead of

  • Display a message in status bar when error in a block based procedure

    Hi
    I have a block based on procedures.
    If I have an exception when I try to insert a record for example, how can I display a user friendly message in the status bar ?
    here is my insert procedure :
    PROCEDURE emp_insert2(t IN emptab) IS
      BEGIN
        FOR i IN t.first..t.last LOOP
        INSERT INTO emp (empno, ename, job, hiredate, sal)
        VALUES(t(i).empno, t(i).ename, t(i).job, t(i).hiredate, t(i).sal);
        END LOOP ;
      EXCEPTION
        When DUP_VAL_ON_INDEX then
            Raise_Application_Error( -20002, '^This identifier already exists^' ) ;
      END emp_insert2;When I use the ON-FORM trigger and ERROR_CODE and ERROR_TEXT variables, I get an FRM-XXXX message saying :
    40735--INSERT-PROCEDURE trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-00001.
    I want a message like :
    ORA-20002 This identifier already exists

    Hello,
    ORA-20500: ^This identifier already exists^ ORA-06512: à "SCOTT2.EMP_PKG", ligne 48
    I cannot figure out what is the problem described by the second part of the message.
    why numeric or value error in this case ? ( ligne 48 corresponds to the raise_applicaion_error instruction )There is no problem with the second part it is just for showing the line number it not the numeric or value error the code for numeric or value error is ORA-06502. See the below link for more information
    http://www.techonthenet.com/oracle/errors/ora06512.php
    So, now you can display your customized message in status bar using the error code which you defined in RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR like below...
    DECLARE
         errcode VARCHAR2(50) := DBMS_ERROR_CODE;
         errtxt VARCHAR2(1000) := DBMS_ERROR_TEXT;
    BEGIN
         IF vErrCode='-20500' THEN
            MESSAGE('Here display your customized message.');
         ELSE
            -- Handle the rest errors...
         END IF;

    Sergio,
    Even though your form is based on the Apps Template form, double-check to ensure it has all of the triggers it should have, like the Form level Key-Commit. The easiest way to make this comparison would be to open your custom form and then open one of the EBS forms like "ARXCUDCI". If your comparison shows no significant differences you might be dealing with a situation when the message is displaying in the Console (status bar) but something else is clearing the console. Check for any Clear_Message calls.
    Hope this helps.
