BSI Tax Factory Upgrade 8.0 to 9.0

Hi BSI,
We are upgrading our BSI tax Factory from 8.0 to 9.0. We are running:
Windows 2008 R2
SQL Server version 10.50.1777
I'm able to connect to the database using login TF90 through SQL Server Management Studio, the ODBC Data Source Administrator and the TaxFactory Client is connecting fine too.
But when running report RPUBTCU0 from the SAP system , its caught under ABAP dump-> SYSTEM FAILURE.
Looking at the error.txt.

We managed to solve this by changing tf90server.bat file.
from - I:
CD I:\BSI\Server9.0
tf90server.exe %*
To - I:\BSI\Server9.0\tf90server.exe %*
Now we could run report RPUBTCU0 without error.
Thanks.

  • BSI Tax Factory Upgrade

We are upgrading BSI Tax Factory from 8.0 to 9.0. Starting with BSI Tax Factory version 9.0 the standard schema no longer reads this parameter of the UPAR1 function. We have to  define the BSI Tax Factory version in two Customizing activities,
Specify BSI Tax Factory version for customizing settings and Specify BSI Tax Factory version for master data and tax calculation. The second one is feature 10BSI and it looks like we have to maintain this feature when we use two versions of
SAP.We are planning to use only 9.0 after our upgrade and still we have to maintain this feature? In the first step specify tax factory version has start date and which date we have to enter ? start of the new payroll period and if we specify start of the
new payroll period when it retroes will it have a problem. Please explain whoever has done the upgrade.
    Thanks for your help.

You should be fine leaving feature '10BSI' as is (return ' ' )  as it will then use BSI version defined in new config table. Retro back to period prior to BSI 90 upgrade should be OK as it will also uses BSI 90 engine (i.e. date in config  table is compared with system current date, not payroll start / end date .

  • BSI Tax Factory upgrade from 9.0 to BSI 10D directly??

    Hi Experts,
I know most of the BSI customers have upgraded from Tax Factory 9.0 to BSI Tax Factory 10.0 as BSI 9.0 support is going to be end of this November 30(2014)..We understand that there is new feature came up BSI 10.0 which is Browser based login to the BSI 10 which runs based Tomcat XML services which needs to be installed on the central windows server server and should be up and running for 24/7..which became a little budget issue for our cllient..
Client dont want go for buying new windows servers for installation of Tom cat services exclusively..Because of all these constraints we have decided to go to BSI 10D which is having GUI logon feature like BSI 9.0 intead of Tom cat xml services for browser based which is released on 26th July 2014..
So here My question is ..Is there a possibility to upgrade from 9.0 to 10d directly?? If yes what is the procedure to upgrade from BSI  9.0 to 10d..
Your inputs in this Upgrade can be really highly appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi Naresh Gollapelly,
This is also helpful for you
SAP has released SAP Note 1875218, which contains the roadmap for BSI TaxFactory 10.0.
SAP has released the following Notes to allow for the integration of the Payroll U.S. solution with BSI TaxFactory 10.0:
SAP Note 1903607 (Phase 1 delivery)
SAP Note 1909014 (Phase 2 delivery)
SAP Note 1934840 (Phase 3 delivery)
SAP Note 1937142 (Nonresident Worked Days parameters)
    Installation and Upgrade Notes
IMPORTANT: For customers with business in Puerto Rico we recommend to wait with an upgrade from BSI TaxFactory 9.0 to BSI TaxFactory 10.0 until cyclic 10.c is available. BSI is planning to release cyclic 10.c (Christmas Bonus) by end of February for certification. The certification will take around 15 days. After the successful certification, BSI will make the executables of BS TF 10.c available.

  • BSI Tax Factory Upgrade:HR Support packs

    Hi All,
We are starting with upgrade of BSI tax Factory from 8.0 to 9.0. And as per SAP main note '1469858' for upgrade, the support
pack required is 'HRSP61' but we currently have 'HRSP59'. Also, CLC 61 was applied for 2010 year end activities.
So, with CLC 61 present, would it be possible to upgrade to 9.0 without upgrading to HRSP 61 ?
In other words I want to confirm if CLC 61 includes the Tax Factory 9.0 updates.
    Thanks,
    Avinash

    Hi Avinash,
I just updated relevant information for your query in the following thread:

  • BSI Tax Factory 10.0 upgrade

    Hi Gurus,
We are in the process of upgrading BSI tax factory 10.0. Could you please let me know what should be the start date of changes in table  VV_T5F99K2_US_BSITF for parameter BSITF

    Hi Arun,
I would say you use same date already there and just replace V90 under value by V10 in your development system.
Run few tests for regular, retros, off-cycles with deductions/payments changes in past, generate claims, etc for different states, locals and compare same scenarios test results for V90 in your quality against V10 in development to see if functionality does not vary.
You can switch functionality from V10 to V90 in case there are too many differences in tax calculation at any time although there should not be issues as both would use check date to calculate taxes.
I would recommend you can look at discussion below for any queries on BSI TF10.

  • BSI Tax Factory  8.0 with 4.6C

    Hi all,
Our client is in the process of implementing net payroll.  We are on 4.6C  During the process of implementation, BSI has released the new Tax Factory 8.0.  BSI has announced that, they will stop support to Tax Factory 7.0 by the end of this year.
My question is does 4.6C supports Tax Factory 8.0.  I am unable to get any clear information through OSS notes too.  The OSS notes released in this regard is too vague and don't specifically mention the compatability.
If it's an upgrade from Tax Factory 7.0 to 8.0, SAP has given some pre-requisites to apply as patches, but if its a new installation of Tax Factory 8.0, SAP OSS note is silent on any service packs and applying patches to 4.6C.  They have given information only for Enterprise versions 4.7 and above.
Does any one has any idea about this situation or any information of compatability of BSI Tax Factory 8.0 with 4.6C as a new installation.
I appreciate your time and look forward to get some help in this regard.
    Thanks

Yes, BSI 8.0 is compatible with 4.6C
There is a note out there - 1022656.
You either go to HR SP C6 or implement the attachment within the note.

  • BSI Tax Factory on ECC 6.0 Unicode

I'm looking for some help with using BSI Tax Factory on an ECC 6.0 Unicode System.  Does anyone have any experience with using BSI Tax Factory on the Unicode version of ECC 6.0? Were there any special steps that were taken in order to make it work? I spoke with someone at BSI and they told me that Tax Factory was not Unicode compliant and that I should talk to someone at SAP to find out what steps needed to be done to make the system work.  While I inquire further with both SAP and BSI I thought I would post something here as well to see if anyone could offer any assistance.
    Thanks in Advance!
    -Nick

    Hi Nick,
BSI TaxFactory is not unicode complaint. But in the past we have had customers who converted from non-unicode to unicode and had no problems with BSI TaxFactory.
Export the BSI related data from the DB and import it back after the unicode conversion. And everything works fine!

  • BSI Tax Factory 10.0 - SP level

    Hi All,
Is it a recommendation or requirement to be at SP 65 (6.04) to apply the notes for phases I, II, and III?
What is the difference between 'Base HR SP' and 'Synch. HR SP' ?
What SP is required for the new tool (sync payroll tax data)? We would rather not update to SP65, then a month later need to update to SP8x?.
    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • BSI Tax Factory 10.0

I have completely installed BSI TF10.0.d and have begun testing in my development system attempting to use the 'Switch Concept' as outlined in SAP note 1519016. Up until this version, it has always worked fine. Now, the only version referenced in the log from my payroll simulation is TF9.0.j update level 146. Has there been any change that disabled this functionality? Am I  missing something?
    Best regards,
    Michael

Where did you install Tf10? Stand alone server? Work station?

  • BSI Message - 4101 Can not process duplicate resident state FED

    Dear experts,
I'm facing this issue when I run payroll. Its happening with all tax authorities. PCL of WTs are same and have not been touched.  There is no duplicate records in IT0207 and IT0208. When I look at 'Tax Data' in payroll log under USTAX->Processing, I see duplicate records of tax code FED.  I looked at tax model (T5UTE, T5UTM,T5UTY), I do not see any duplicate tax type.  I'm not really sure where to look for this FED duplicate records. Please help to resolve this issue.
    Thanks,
    Anita

    Hi Anita,
Even my client has the same problem. It has occured after upgrading HRSP Pack A3 and BSI Tax Factory 10.0.c update level 19.
I was going through the similar communication on sdn and it was resolved after applying SAP Note 905988.
I am not sure it would be resolved for me as well after applying to this note. I am still researching on it, if I get anything I will post here.
Request you also to do the same. Thanks!

  • Employer Unemployment Tax Not Being calculated in US Payroll

    Hi Experts,
Employer Unemployment Tax (Tax Type 10) for Tax Authority Alabama is not being calculated in US Payroll in my SAP system.
The taxable amt is showing up, but the tax is not being calculated in the payroll log.
No error/warning mssg is provided by BSI in the payroll log.
I have already checked for the following:
1)We are using the standard tax model 002 provided by SAP for Alabama
The tax model settings are fine.
    2) Table T5UTX is being maintained.
    3) Tax Type 10 is setup against tax auth Alabama in BSI Tax Factory.
For tax auth Federal too, though the taxable for tax type 10 shows up, tax is not being calculated.
    Can you please help.
    Regards,
    Somdeb.

    Hello Somdeb,
Please be aware that this is no standard SAP tax model only an example which must be customized as every customer is different.
First check the payroll log to see if the information is being sent to BSI TaxFactory. If not then the issue is mostly the tax model. Different tax models can be used based on the employee.
If the values are being sent to BSI and not being calculated, then there is an issue wil BSI. Send BSI the script and they will tell you what the issue is.

  • Withholding tax for Kentucky locals

    Hi,
Requirement: Need to calculate withholding tax for Kentucky locals.
I have done the config accordingly, /301 and /601 displays the amount but /401 and /701 are not appearing/calculating for Kentucky locals. Could the reason be because of a support pack.
FYI, we are using version 6.0.
    Thanks
    Karthick.

    Hi Karthick,
The first thing I would check for whichever Kentucky Local if the tax code is mapped in BSI tax factory application.
I would also check what taxes are applicable for Kentucky locals. Once I check the applicable taxes then I would review my configuration.
Infact about few weeks ago, I did configure the warren county for Kentucky state and it works as desired.
Please let me know what tax authority (Kentucky Locals) you are trying to configure and I can at my end what taxes are applicable
    thanks

  • BSI Rates Effective Date for Unemployment Insurance

    Hi SAP Payroll Gurus,
This is question regarding SAP BSI for US Payroll.
My question is regarding BTXRate table : BSI Company Experience Rate  in which a new record exist for each new rate specific to a Authority and there is a effective date on it example 2007/01/01 .
Now if we have put it the new rates very late i.e. let say in the middle of year 2007, then the system will run into retro in next pay and calculate the new rate effective from 2007/01/01 .
However if I dont want the system to calculate the new rate from 2007/01/01 ( because of the manual adjustments already made) , can i change the effective date of the new rate from the date of next payperiod i want and avoid the retro i.e. calculating the new rate for previous payperiods.
    Please advise.
    Thanks
    Jay Gandhi

The experience rates kept in BTXRATE are only used by US Tax Reporter.  The rates used in the calculation are maintained in BSI (Tax Factory Client).
If you already adjusted the taxes, then you can keep the old rate in BSI, so that retrocalculations don't change your taxes.  Adjust the BTXRATE to the new one, and when you run your reports, Tax Reporter will tell you how much you paid (based on the employee´s payroll results wagetype /410), and how much you should have paid (the base amount for unemployment wagetype /710 multiplied by the rate in BTXRATE).
    Hope this helps,
