BSOD video driver crashing in PPro ONLY

I'm getting a BSOD crash everytime I create a new seq or try to change seq settings. It has something to do with the seq setting dialog box. I can select any settings but as soon as I click OK, pow BSOD. minidumps point to the nvidia driver (nvlddmkm.sys). I'm using dell m6400, win 7 pro (fully updated), quadro 3700m (1 gig), 12gig mem, CS5.5 PPro 5.5.2 - Master collection (fully updated). I'm mostly the AE and 3dmax person in our shop and not a PPro regular but we use PPro as our main editor. I have a project I need to do some stuff on in PPro and can't setup a SEQ cause it keeps crashing. I'm not having any issues like this with any of the other adobe software or any other software I'm using and I haven't had this problem in the past with PPro so I assume that there is a problem between PPro 5.5.2 the newer video drivers I'm now using (nvidia 310.90).
Any Ideas, suggestions? I've tried just about everything I can think of. I thought about rolling the drivers back to CS5.5 era drivers (I guess around 285.xx ? ) but I really need the newer drivers for some features in the lastest 3Dmax/directX. Anyone else here had problems with PPro 5.5.2 and nvidia 310.xx?

Have you gone to nVidia to see if there is a newer driver?
I'm not 100% sure, but I think I've seen mention of a 314.?? driver

Spotify only displays black screen after video driver crashes

Using Windows 8.1 64x, AMD 7800 series card with the latest AMD 15.4 beta drivers. This driver release is prone to crashing. Spotify, though, doesn't recover after the driver crashes and only displays a black screen. Restarting the program fixes the problem, but it shouldn't have to be restarted in the first place.

H8-1040 Video Driver Crashing, System Restore then no longer boots properly

I previously had some issues with my graphics card driver crashing. After moving, I took the card out and cleaned out all the dust. The issue somehow got worse. (As you would imagine, the issue never presented itself in Safe Mode). Regardless, I decided to do a system restore. After completing the system recovery, the computer never went to the OS setup screen. In fact, it simply shows a blank screen now when it boots. There are no error beeps and the system diagnostic checks out. I'm not entirely sure what to do. I've tried booting in safe mode, but the computer says it can not complete the installation in safe mode.
So has my card died?

If this card had to be replaced, anyone have any suggestions?

Hi,
Manufacturers will tweak their cards differently. This EVGA 660 is rated for a 450 watt power supply. The 460 watt PSU in your PC has sufficient amperage on the two 12v rails.

Skype BSOD/AMD Driver crashing.

Hi, I have an isse with skype causing problems. When I start skype, the AMD display driver crashes. The screen goes black for a few seconds. Now, after that there are no issues until someone tries to call me or I try to call someone else. Upon making a call, the PC gets a blue screen of death and restarts. Any ideas what it might be? Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool. Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post. Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

Why does watching YouTube videos in Firefox cause my video driver to crash, but I can watch the same video in IE8 without a problem?

For the past few days, I suddenly can't watch any YouTube videos in Firefox without having the video driver crash every few seconds. The screen freezes too, and I have a hard time getting my cursor to the "X" to close the tab. One time it was so bad my computer crashed and rebooted.
I am able to watch the same videos in Internet Explorer 8 without any problems. I am also able, as far as I know, to watch videos in Firefox on other sites like CNN.com without any problems.
My computer information below looks correct. It's a Gateway Model#MX6453, my video driver is an ATI Radeon Xpress 1150.

I fixed this by disabling hardware acceleration. YouTube videos seem to work fine now.

I had to go to a site other than YouTube that had flash content (like a video on CNN.com), right-clicked on the flash video, selected "Settings" on the menu, then unchecked "Enable hardware acceleration" on the display tab. For good measure I closed Firefox and opened it again. Since then no more driver errors. (crosses fingers)

Not able to install/update HP dc7600 video driver - getting blurry/shadowy/ghosting display

Dear HP Windows XP Specialists, I am having difficulty fixing a blurry/shadowy/ghosting display screen (HP 19inch monitor) on a HP dc7600 SFF (2.99 GHz, 1.0 GB RAM) Desktop PC, which runs Windows XP Professional. It has been working fine for many years until yesterday, where I have replaced the monitor with another working one that works for half a day.I have updated the Chipset SP38488 and Video driver SP37615 but ended up with the following error which I don’t believe it is correct: “This computer does not meet minimum requirements for installing the software. Setup will exit” The problem is Windows XP kept prompting to install video driver after every reboot, and the driver it is looking for is SP37615. Allow it search through a Windows XP installation disk did not work either. It doesn’t or allows me to use standard video driver either. The only idea left is to add more RAM, but find it hard to believe since the display driver (not clear which one that was), has been working without the need to add more RAM. The part and serial numbers for this PC are PU700AV and AUD6110155 respectively. Any advice to assist would be very much appreciated.Thanks in advance,Jack

Hi: According to the specs I found online for the product number for your PC, it has the onboard Intel graphics. Premiere pro cc and nvidia driver crash... why?

Hi guys
Since my new PC configuration, I've been having difficulties making my graphics card (Gygabyte Geforce GTX 650 Ti) enable the mercury playback engine cuda on premiere pro cc. it works for a few moments or it renders 2 3 minutes of my video and vith video hardware acceleration, but after that the video driver crashes and the rendering process and premiere as well. i have the latest driver from nvidia, but also have tried with drivers as old as 310.70 (released december 2012). i use wi 7 sp1, my cpu is intel's [email protected] and intel z77 chipset with 16GB of ram if this is of any relevance. Any ideas on what's the cause of the problem or how i may fix it? (the same thing also happened with premiere pro cs6)

What about the amount of VRAM?
As a rough guide, how much VRAM should be installed on the video card, think along these lines:
For SD material, 1 GB is enough
For HD material, go for 1 - 2 GB
For 3K or 4K, go for 2 - 4 GB
For 5K+, go for 4 - 6 GB
Keep in mind that the requirements can vary significantly, depending on the complexity of the timeline. If it happens that the VRAM is depleted (not enough memory), hardware MPE is automatically turned off rather ungracefully and stays off for the rest of the encoding. If you use two video cards in CC, each card uses its own memory and cannot use the memory on the second card. The encoding process works like this: Frame 1 rendered on card 1, frame 2 rendered on card 2, frame 3 rendered on card 1, etc. If either card runs out of memory, again hardware MPE is turned off. Simply put, two video cards with 1 GB each can not be treated as a single card with 2 GB, so the risk of turning off hardware MPE automatically is bigger with these two cards than with a single card.

Firefox 23 Beta has crashed 5 times in the last hour since updating, twice with a BSOD failure of the video driver. I can't figure out another way to post this.

FF was running fast and stable until the Beta update tonight. Afterward it crashed repeatedly, sometimes with a total system lockup, other times with an unresponsive system, occasionally with a Video Driver failure leading to a BSOD.
I had to DL 22 release and roll back. I'm now on the release channel, not the beta channel.
System config: Dell Latitude 6410, Win 7 x64, 128 GB SSD, 4GB RAM, Intel video hardware. Everything is up to date.
Trying to get this out before it crashes again then switching to 22.
Java plugin is usually disabled.
Toolbars are ABP, download status bar and Disconnect.

If you are still getting blue screen crashes, make sure you've disabled Firefox's use of hardware graphics acceleration. With that feature off, it would be rare that Firefox would touch any privileged parts of Windows.
You might test in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
Any difference?
Oddly, that last crash report shows the Flash plugin still loading, even though you disabled it.
This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues with the Flash player. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
(1) Make sure all recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
(2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
(A) ''As described above...'' In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"

(3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)

Yes, so what's confusing... Did you not restore the backup of your data, contacts, pics, apps, music, etc. to the new hard drive after you replaced it or reformatted it or whatever you did? If so, then you can just sync your data back.
If not, please try searching the forum. This has been addressed hundreds of times here.

ITunes crashes while accessing iTunes Store with a intel video driver

I have a DELL laptop running Windows 8.1 with i7 4500U at 1.8G, 8G ram, 1TB hard disk, NVidia GT750M, iTunes is working fine at downloading or updating apps but crashes while I trying to accessing iTunes Store, no matter I choose run with intel integrated video card or Nvidia video card.
I wonder if this is happened because of Win 8.1 incompatibility or intel video driver, the driver is up to date and if I try an older driver, iTunes won't start at all.
The same thing happens with Adobe Photoshop CC 64bit, it just get freezed but get an error message said intel driver is crashed and auto recovered.

I don't know if this happens at Win8 since I updated to Win 8.1 right after I purchased my laptop, all Win patches are up to date and also iTunes, I am running Win 8.1 64bit Pro version.

I seem to have tried everything to fix the issue but PPro CC14 won't stop crashing and freezing only minutes after editing commences. I am working on a Mac and have just updated to Mavericks as a final attempt to help solve the problem. I have tried calling Adobe but their phone support in Australia is shocking. Its it possibly related to your graphics drivers? Seems similar to something I was experiencing that was resolved by updating my nvida cuda drivers (see thread link). I also started running activity monitor to keep track of the memory and processor use. That said after solving the problem by updating my drivers and switching to the CUDA acceleration, on occasion I get into ruts where it opens and freezes all the time. It does seem helpful to try and reduce project size if possible - I normal keep a track record of sequence revisions and such, but when possible it seems that clearing out as much as possible by deleting or project managing into a new project can help things run better.

Your video card driver may be fine for something, but just not compatible with Premiere Elements 13/13.1.
For those with the display card error, the answers include
a. assure your video card/graphics card driver version is up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card -
if necessary consider a driver roll back.
b. determine in Device Manager/Display Adapters if the computer is using 2 cards instead of 1
c. delete the BadDrivers.txt file
the rationale for that deletion is found in post 10 of the following older post...principle applies to 13 as well as 9.

Have you looked for computer ATI card settings that might be more compatible with Premiere Elements 13/13.1?
When is the program crashing - just opening a new project or rather crashing if editing a particular video format at the Timeline level?
