Bug in OVI calendar (web)

 Hello
I've found bug in OVI calendar (web).
When I change date of events (Edit all event occurrences), or name of events, the date of changed event is not a valid date
Ex.
I have event: EXAMLE, 22-10-2009 (How often will it happen? - WEEKLY). Next, I changing date 21-10-2009 and... The date of events it is finally 23-10-2009.
BTW: In google calendar it is OK.

Both bugs still exist.
When I create an all day event, initially it shows as a full day event for the correct day. When I check back later, the event is shown as full day for two days. Synced to the phone (N8) the events are displayed correctly.
I am also unable to edit e.g. birthdays that started in 1980's. I get a message saying I need to edit the first instance.

  • New OVI Calendar web application syncronization is...

    Hi @ll,
    I don't know about you, but I can't sync calendar events back & forth since last week (when Ovi Calendar 1.6 went from beta to live).
    No errors reported by the phone ovi sync app. It's just no calendar appointments being sent (contacts is working though).
    I've even master-resetted my X6.. no way.
    Are you experiencing the same? As a long-time Nokia supporter, I MUST think this is not a general issue in such an essential feature.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Just for the record, I have the exact same issue on my phone. Syncing from server to phone fails without any error message. (Phone to server is ok.) At least good to see that it's a server issue and not a problem with my phone...
    What is it with these seemingly trivial calendar bugs that service providers aren't able to fix??? I wanted to use Google calendar's web interface on my previous phone, but it has a bug which prevents users from setting up reminders of any kind (I was hoping to have e-mail reminders mailed to my phone). This bug, which basically renders the interface totally unusable, has been around for a long time now, but Google apparently doesn't want to fix it.
    I seriously don't hope we have to wait that long for a fix from Nokia. Without proper calendar synchronization I basically don't have any good reason to continue to use the phone.

  • Bug: Ovi Calendar and pre-1975 events

    I was quite puzzled to discover the hard way that OVI Calendar does not support events dated before 1/1/1975. Apparently not  all developers learned from the Y2K bug.
    Why do I need events in the past, you may ask. Well, to store birthdays/years.I have stored birthdays of my contacts as yearly repeated events in Outlook, starting from the day of birth. That's handy to remember their age. I first synchronised them with my phone (Nokia 5800) and everything went right. When I synchronised them with OVI, all events scheduled before 1975 got moved to December 2010 or January 2011 (day of month was preserved, though).
    This is a bug and users should be warned/informed.

    If I set MD-Soft Birthdays to create memo events rather than anniversary events for my contacts' birthdays, one-time-only memos are created for the current and next year and at least they are not moved to december.
    However, another strange behaviour/bug happens when syncing: the synced memo events appear in the online OVI calendar one day earlier, i.e. a memo scheduled in the device's calendar on 25 August (because that's the birthday date) will appear on OVI calendar on the 24 August. The memo is then not further synced with the calendar, i.e. if I delete the 25 Aug memo from the device's calendar, the corresponding (wrong) 24 Aug memo is not deleted from OVI and, vice versa, the 24 Aug memo is not synced back to device's calendar even if it appears in OVI.  Further, the wrong 24 Aug memo is then treated as an independent entry and synced back to the device.
    That's annoying, because besides not working, now I have to remove all those wrong events! Luckily, Birthdays allows to search and remove all events starting with '[B]' (not only those it created itself), which also takes care of the wrong memos that got synced back. Otherwise, since OVI Calendar does not allow to search for strings shorter than 4 characters [DOH!], I would have needed to delete them manually!

  • Ovi Calendar CSV import bug

    Hi
    I've got problems importing a .csv file to the calendar. I have a calendar exported from Outlook with ~200 entries. I can import them with ease, no errors here. However when I look at the imported entries, they all show up on the same day. All 200 of them. And the time on them is the same as the time I tried to import them.
    I also tried with some less entries with same results.
    Anyone know a solution?

    Seems like I have to live in US to use it - it was date format that caused this issue.
    Fixing it was easy. Change your location information from Windows Control panel to English (US), export your calendar from outlook - and change back your settings. Now import the csv to Ovi calendar. Oh btw, you might have to adjust the times also, it somehow imagined I live in GMT-time zone, so I had to adjust all my appointments by two hours.
    Easy to use...

  • Ovi Calendar server back end lost shared calendar ...

    Setup a shared calendar between the Ovi web suite, and two devices, a C5 and an N8
    Day 1 - Syncing fine between web and phones
    Day 2 - Go into web page, now the calendar is shared with 0 others! Each phone also has a separate calendar. No configuration changes were made between days 1 and 2
    It seems this to be a major bug in the Ovi Calendar suite? Is the Calendar service now deprecated and shutting down? The Calendar web page looks and feels like it's not being actively updated and supported

    Thanks so much for your comment ~morgen.
    Sorry, I should have mentioned, that it what my first thought so I tested by ensuring the email address associated with the user account (not hosted on the server but by Google Apps) is recieving all other mail.
    I have also tried:
    - Setting all accounts (calendar, email and contact card with associated email address) in another local user on a defferent Mac. So it's not a local user or Mail app issue.
    - Sending invites from different Calendar apps and email accounts - iCloud, Gmail (both using Apple Calendar and the web interface).
    That's why I came back around to thinking it must be calendar server related. However is there is absolutly no conntact with the server with incoming email invites I must be looking in the wrong place (and the wrong forum - sorry!).
    Does anyone have any ideas where I should be focusing my efforts?
    Many thanks in advance.

  • Ovi Calendar dates off

    When I Sync my phone with Ovi, calendar items show one day ahead on the Ovi website. (Ex: An event on 2nd Apr is shown as 1st Apr, and an event on 1st Apr is shown as 30th Apr) It's very annoying. The events show perfectly on the phone. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
    I have the same timezone and 12hr format both on PC and phone.
    5800XM + N70
    Nokia Forever!

    I have same problem. I have identified it as following: Create a new "anniversary" entry on calendar on N97. Sync to OVI calendar online. Entry in OVI calendar is created as an "all-day-event" box ticked for the correct day but also wrongly has a "start time" of 01:00 (which is greyed out)!! This makes it roll-over onto the following day. Sync then sometimes seems to shufflye this "Anniversary" forward by one day. Is is all to do with the incorrect creation of the Calendar entry on OVI calendar when the item is first sync'ed. The solution it to either create an "all-day" entry on OVI calendar and THEN sync to phone OR untick and then tick the "all-day" check box which blanks the "at" time box for the event.

  • Ovi calendar annoyance

    I've noticed that some calendar entries i've entered and saved for a specific day will then stretch over on to the next day. If i fix it by setting each entry to that day when i sync with my phone it goes back to stretching in to the next day but the entries are correct on the phone and it's the website that's the problem. Anyone any ideas on how to deal with this annoyance? You can see the problem in this picture

    I'm having a similar problem.  Except my memos seem to be stretching back a day when made on my E71, sync-ed over the air, and viewed on the web version of Ovi Calendar.
    As per /t5/Eseries-and-Communicators/Nokia-E71-Calendar-Memos-across-multiple-days/m-p/880415

  • Ovi Calendar not syncing

    I tried to sync Ovi Calendar between my mobile and the Web version. While the Web version got entries from the mobile, the mobile did not get calendar entries from the Web version. I checked the sync settings and it has been correctly set to sync both ways.
    Can anyone help?

    What type of phone do you have and what types of calendar entries are not being sent? Are they birthday / anniversary reminders?

  • Ovi Calendar login succeeded but not on Contacts

    I can login in the Ovi Calendar (http://calendar.ovi.com/) web application, but not on Ovi Contacts (http://contactsui.ovi.com/). It always force me to login - and of cause the login data is correct.
    Any hints?

    Not possible.

  • Ovi Calendar issues

    Anyone else having these problems (on an N8) and found resolutions?:
    When clocks went forward several of my appointments were duplicated and I''m struggling to delete some of these.
    Items created on web interface don't sync to phone
    Still can't delete items via web interface that have areminder in the past - need to remove reminder then delete - painfull.
    Notes created / edited on web interface don't syn'c till some time later like on the second sync, and then gets duplicated and again hard to delete.
    These seem to be recurring issues that go away and return
    i've been a long term fan of Ovi calendars and note sync, but I need to consider replacement capability as this getting ridiculous.

    And another problems:
    When refreshing page:
    Sorry, we couldn't retrieve your devices information. Please try again.
    When trying to send device configuration via email:
    Sorry, we couldn't provision your device. Please try again.
    Guys, quality of OVI is extremely low. Is it alpha or beta version ?

  • Application-to-application authentication using Calendar Web Services

    Calendar Web Services
    Application-to-application authentication
    (Proxy authentication)
    Abstract:
    Application-to-application authentication allows services to trust other services without having to authenticate the end-user making use of these services. The Calendar Web Services offers an application-to-application authentication mechanism called “Proxy Authentication”.
    What is Proxy Authentication?
    The Calendar Web Services Proxy Authentication is a solution that was developed by the Oracle Calendar team and is similar to what SSO would be to the web. Proxy Authentication allows any application developed using the Calendar Web Services Toolkit to establish a trusted authentication link to the Calendar Server via the Calendar Web Services.
    What do I need to get Proxy Authentication going?
    -     The Calendar Web Services Toolkit 9.0.4.2.X (Calendarlet.jar)
    -     The Calendar Web Services 9.0.4.2.X (OCAS)
    -     The Calendar Server 9.0.4.2.X (Calserv)
    -     Oracle Internet Directory 9.0.4.X (OID)
    Your collaboration suite deployment MUST be configured in a way where the Calendar Server is connected to the OID (done by default). This is fundamental given that Proxy Auth is designed to extensively use the OID security schemes.
    How to configure Proxy Authentication?
    You must have:
    1.     Access to the OID administrator account.
    2.     Access to the ldap tools ($ORACLE_HOME/ldap/bin).
    3.     Access to the Oracle Calendar Server administrator password.
    OID Configuration
    Create an entry for your application product in OID
    The following entry needs to be created:
    - cn=OracleContext
    - cn=Products
    - cn=MyApplicationProduct
    The MyApplicationProduct.ldif will look like:
    dn: cn= MyApplicationProduct, cn=Products, cn=OracleContext
    objectClass: orclContainer
    objectClass: top
    The command to add the entry is
    ./ldapadd -h HOSTNAME.COM -p OIDPORT -D "cn=orcladmin" -w PASSWROD -f ./MyApplicationProduct.ldif
    Where [HOSTNAME.COM] is the OID server hostname, [PASSWROD] is the password for the OID directory and [OIDPORT] is the OID port.
    Create an application entity for MyAppName in OID
    The following entry needs to be added to the OID:
    - cn=OracleContext
    - cn=Products
    - cn= MyApplicationProduct
    - orclApplicationCommonName=MyAppName
    The MyAppName.ldif will look like:
    dn: orclApplicationCommonName= MyAppName,
    cn= MyApplicationProduct, cn=Products,
    cn=OracleContext
    objectClass: orclApplicationEntity
    objectClass: top
    orclApplicationCommonName: MyAppName
    userpassword: test1
    The command to add the entry is
    ./ldapadd -h HOSTNAME.COM -p OIDPORT -D "cn=orcladmin" -w PASSWORD -f ./MyAppName.ldif
    Ensure the entry is properly configured
    Perform an LDAP search to locate the entry's distinguished name:
    "orclApplicationCommonName= MyAppName,
    cn= MyApplicationProduct, cn=Products,
    cn=OracleContext"
    ./ldapsearch -h HOSTNAME.COM -p OIDPORT -D "cn=orcladmin" -w PASSWROD
    -b "cn= MyApplicationProduct,cn=Products,cn=OracleContext"
    "objectclass=orclApplicationEntity" "c"
    Grant proxy privileges to the new application entity
    This creates an entry in OID:
    - dc=com
    - dc=oracle
    - dc=us
    - cn=OracleContext
    - cn=Products
    - cn=Calendar
    - cn=UserProxyPrivilege
    - uniquemember:
    orclApplicationCommonName= MyAppName,
    cn= MyApplicationProduct, cn=Products,
    cn=OracleContext
    From the $ORACLE_HOME/ocal/bin
    ./unioidconf -grantproxyprivilege \
    "orclApplicationCommonName= MyAppName,
    cn= MyApplicationProduct, cn=Products,
    cn=OracleContext"
    NOTE: you need the calendar server admin password.
    How to use Proxy Authentication?
    Once successfully done configuring your OID and Calendar Server, you must start the real work; coding. It is actually simple to implement.
    In your Java application, you will simply change the BasicAuth class with the ProxyAuth class. You then set the end-user identity, along with the proxy application name and proxy application password, you registered a moment ago.
    Ex:
    ProxyAuth auth = new ProxyAuth();
    auth.setApplicationName("orclApplicationCommonName=MyAppName, cn=MyApplicationProduct, cn=Products, cn=OracleContext");
    auth.setApplicationPassword(“test1”);
    auth.setName(myUserId);
    Your application will no longer need to pass the end-user’s password to the Calendar Web Services. From now on, it is your application’s responsibility to authenticate the end-user.

    I found the solution:
    Using the CalendaringResponse.getReceiveBuffer() and getSendBuffer() methods, the soap request looks something like this:
    Sendbuffer: <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">

    <auth:ProxyAuth xmlns:auth="http://www.oracle.com/WebServices/Calendaring/Authentication/1.0/"><ApplicationName>orclApplicationCommonName=MyAppName,cn=MyApplicationProduct, cn=Products, cn=OracleContext</ApplicationName><ApplicationPassword>testpw1</ApplicationPassword><Name>king</Name></auth:ProxyAuth>
    </SOAP-ENV:Header>
    <SOAP-ENV:Body>
    <cwsl:Search xmlns:cwsl="http://www.oracle.com/WebServices/Calendaring/1.0/"><CmdId>MySearchCommandID-1</CmdId><vQuery><From>VEVENT</From><Where>DTEND &gt;= '20061007T220000Z' AND DTSTART &lt;= '20061014T215900Z'</Where></vQuery></cwsl:Search>

  • How to get "Calendar in the View" displayed on the page where Calendar web part is displayed?

    I have a calendar with overlay set up for 5 views. When the calendar list is open in full page, the "Calendars in View" is displayed on the left pane with all 5 views listed by colors.
    1) I want to display the calendar right on the home page, so I added the calendar web part to the page. But the problem is the "Calendars in the View" does  not show up on the quick launch on home page, it only shows up in calendar list view.
    How can I get "Calendars in View" displayed on left pane when calendar web part is displayed? so that users can select different views?
    2) Also it will be better if the "Calendars in View" can display all components of the overlay when not in the default view, so user can toggle thru different views to see each one on the main pane.
    Currently, only the default view has all colored views displayed under "Calendars in Views", once you click another view on the list, it just displays the current view, and you have to click the "Calendar" to see all and select another
    one.
    Really appreciated if someone can give a solution for at least the #1 problem. great if you have a solution for #2 as well!

    The sample shows siteid (all lower case)
