Bug in work flow jsps
Hi,
i have a element in xsd which has maxoccurs = unbounded.
When i use this as a parameter for one of the human tasks ,auto generate the form and deploy it on PM, i dont see any text box appearing for the unbounded element, The jsp has a method to generate the input tags which looks like this:
private String getTableField(Element payload, Form form,
String displayName, String xpath,
String inloopXPath, String datatype) throws Exception
Field thisField = null;
thisField = form.getField(xpath);
String thisDisabled = "";
if (thisField == null || thisField.isEditable())
thisDisabled = "";
else
thisDisabled = "disabled";
return "<td align=\"left\"><input name=\""
+ PayloadFormGenerator.constructName(inloopXPath)
+ "\" value=\""
+ PayloadFormGenerator.selectNodeValue(payload, inloopXPath, form.getNamespaceMap())
+ "\" dataType=\""
+ datatype + "\"" + thisDisabled
+ "></input></td>";
The above method does not have a type attribute for input tag.
I just want to know if there is any patch available for the bug that i see,
Regards
Ashish
btw, i am using jdev 10.1.3.3

Regarding work flow in the organisation
Hello,
I am new to SAP XI. I want to join as a SAP XI developer. So I want to know about the work flow in the organisation. Means who will raise issues and who will take care of it first. and how it will reach to SAP XI developer.
What are the human roles in the SAP XI Work flow in the organization and what are their responsibilities. Who will responsible to write the Java mapping coding or ABAP mapping coding or XSLT mapping coding.
Thank you
Edited by: jyotsna dm on Apr 12, 2008 6:54 AMHi,
In XI: It is separated in two parts
1) XI basis (Administration)
Activites are:
1) XI installation
2) Configuration activitie
3) Post installation checks
4) SLD configuration
5) Create Users,
6) Role assignments.
And many more
2) XI Implementation and development.
Under the development you have two parts Integration repository which is desing part which involves small amount of Java knowledge whenever your requirement is not fulfilled by standard SAP XI function.
and integration Configuration:
This is very simple stpes once your design is over.Based on your requirement you have to use the standard adapter provided by SAP for example if file is coming then u will go for File adapter,if IDOC is psoted to R3 then you go for IDOC adapter,communication with remote client u go for SOAP adapter.
XI Project lifecycle:
1) Blue printing phase (Design phase).
2) Build phase (Development)
3) Integration testing
4) Project go live
5) Support.
Now coming to ur question.
XI Developers role and responsibilities are:
Analysis of the Functional Specifications which is received from Function people.
Understanding the processes related to the third party non SAP and SAP systems.
Raise issue log for the business requirement which is not understood from functional spec.
Prepare Technical Specification Document,
Do the development: now developer has to do the coding which either involved java,XSLT,abap mapping.
Prepare the UTC
Reviewing Interface Technical Specifications and Unit Test Document, Interface build and Unit Test, Self and peer review of the deliverables, develop Interface Object via Design and Configuration.
Project golive and give support and do bug fixing,change request n all.
hopw u got the prefect workflow.

Hi Experts,
I have a Workflow which triggers on record update.
After the start step i have 3 assignment Fields and then Some validations etc.
I can see that this workflow is stopped at First assignment step Some times with Error.
And when i Open the workflow and close it again, then the next time there is a Update to a Record this workflow works fine...
This is strange..
the Workflow entry which is in ERROR will remain the same, Even if i press 'Perform' ..
DId anyone face this issue earlier!!!
It works fine for 2 days and suddenly i can see in Workflow table there is a entry with Error at First Assignment step of Workflow.
when i Open work flow, Edit some description and save it back and the rest of the workflows from then are executing without error.
But the one with Error in WF table still remains the same even after selecting 'Perform' on it.

JohnHi John,
Please find details of a SAP Note 1553992 on this issue:
Symptom
- Data Manager crashes when trying to click on workflow job line (only in MDM 5.5).
- Workflow jobs are in error state due to executing next step such as syndication step after a job was in error state due to bad assignment.
Other terms
- Workflow crash Data Manager, O28627 2011
Reason and Prerequisites
o Description of the root cause of the bug and ways to reproduce and/or diagnose the issue:
Reproducing the scenario can be done by creating a workflow with the following steps:
1. Start
2. Bad Assignment (e.g. assignment created unique constraint violation)
3. Syndication
4. Stop
After executing the workflow job, the job is shown in error state in MDM Data Manager.
Clicking on next -> Syndication step changes the workflow job to a job that only the owner can see. The job is shown in MDM Data Manager in error state, its step description is empty and no user specified in user column.
Clicking on the workflow job will lead to a crash in Data Manager.
MDM Data Manager crashes since the workflow job is is in error state but none of his steps is in error state.
In this mode(unlisted), MDS prepares the workflow list to be send to Data Manager with user name with value NULL.
Data Manager crashes when it tries to access the user name of the workflow.
The issue was introduce with MDM 5.5.
Issue is not relating to a specific platform/DBMS.
Solution
o The workaround is:
Delete workflow job in error state using Java API.
o The description of the fix is:
The fix handles two scenarios:
1. Existing workflow jobs in error state that caused a crash
in MDM Data Manager. A fix was made in MDS to add the owner as user
name to the workflow jobs in such scenario.
As a result users are able to delete the workflow job or show its
history.
2. New workflow job will not stay in Error state and the next step will
be correctly performed.
o The issue was fixed in the following code lines and versions:
- MDM 5.5 SP06 Patch05 Hotfix 45 (Build 5.5.65.125) -
change list #94328
- MDM 7.1 SP07 (Build 7.1.07.113) - change list #94340
- MDM 7.11 (Build 7.11.0.146) - change list #94339
o What areas of the code were fixed?
Workflow Run Time
o What areas of the code were affected by the fix?
Workflow Run Time
o The following component(s) need to be replaced to correct the specific flaw addressed by this note:
In 5.5 Version:
Master Data Server
MDM SERVER 5.5
In 7.1 Version:
Master Data Server
o Additional component(s), if any, that were impacted and should be regression-tested by the code change:
In 5.5 Version:
GUI Clients
JAVA API
In 7.1 Version:
Data Management Clients
JAVA API
Hope this helps.

DW CS3 Mac - delayed work-flow
Our office has three Macs running DW CS3; Two Intel Macs and
one G5... When working with files from ANY remote server (and with
any file type) on the Intel Macs the work flow is very sluggish /
delayed (i.e. any action takes about 3-5 seconds to respond). This
issue is not present when reverting to version DW 8. The Mac with
the G5 does not have these issues.
We had a Mac certified technician come out to see what the
issue is. He could find NO hardware/ network problems. He said that
this is an issue that will probably be resolved in Adobe updates to
come...
Can anyone shed light on this issue? I can't understand why
CS2 works fine, but not CS3 which is supposed to be more Intel Mac
friendly.
Thanks - BobThere is an issue that sounds very familiar to this but it is
closely related to Leopard as opposed to Tiger. Are these newer
Intel Macs running Leopard? If so there are updates planned for
this.
There is also another bug, I would have to check the kb
article again to be sure, but it dealt with a slow load time to
freezes when putting remote image locations in the documents (ie:
when you make an HTML email file). I don't remember whether this
issue was a Leopard issue or it could have been an Intel issue
which could be indirectly related to what you are experiencing.
If workflow is an issue right now I would say for your
business stick with 8 especially if there is not a specific reason
for using CS3 (ie: new feature). Then I would wait until about the
end of the year, early next year when the first wave of updates is
supposed to be released (mostly for those Leopard updates).
BTW, in case you were wondering, you can keep both
installations on there on the Mac because there are 2 separate
preference files in the library so this way you don't have to go
through re-installing again. -

Regards,
SatyabratHi Satyabrat,
Which patch level you are on? Although seems not related to your issue, but there is a bug in Patch 11 -
1. It doesn't update Approver from ERM-Workflow-Approver criteria
2. it doesn't update criticality level ( if you didnt upgrade from Patch 8 to 9 and went on directly to patch 11).
If you have any of above issues, then old roles and copy of old roles will not work properly.
Check if you have criticality level defined and also try to change approver in ERM Role modification screen.
it seems the configuration is correct as new roles are working fine but to make sure also check in CUP whether the first stage of Role creation is defined as webservice.
Let us know if it helps.

Work flow for Change Request not reliably sending emails.
I created a work flow that sends an email to a changers Manager whenever a routine Change Request is created. Sometimes the email does not go and I narrowed it down to a possible race condition between the workflow running and Service Manager adding the
Manager in as a Reviewer on the Review Activity.
When I hard code a recipient into the Reviewer list, the email works every time. When I leave the Reviewers list blank and check the box "Line Manager should review", Service Manager properly adds the changers Manager in as a Reviewer but the email
sometimes does not work.
What I am thinking is the workflow is running before Service Manager can add the Manager in as a Reviewer and therefore no email. If this is the case, is this a possible bug or how do I delay the workflow and give Service Manager enough time to populate
the Reviewer list on the Review Activity."Updated" is not going to work. Now the Manager gets two emails identical to each other and when the Approve the RA, they get a third. Basically every time the RA is touched, it fires an email. Can't have this.
So, back to "Created". It is still unreliable. I did not think getting an email sent would be this much trouble. Basically all I am trying to do is when a user creates a Change Request, their Manager gets an email notifying them that a Review
Activity needs attention.
If anyone has any idea on how to do this, let me know. Is there any way I can do this with a notification subscription instead of a workflow? I tried to use a subscription but I could not figure out what criteria to use to send an email to the changers Manager. -
Hi Every1,
I have attached to my user the responsibility called "Work Flow Administrator Web Applications" also i attached a Function called Lauch Process function.Now i am getting the following Error:-
You do not have "Run Workflow" access because you do not have Workflow System Administrator privileges.
Please contact your System Administrator if you require the ability to run workflows manually.
Ok when i loged in as SYSADMIN it gives me another error and not the one mentioned above.
I am getting the following error currently:-
"You have encountered an unexpected error. Please contact the System Administrator for assistance.
Click here for exception details."
When i click the link the following error appears :

A Good Work Flow For FCP 5.0 using Canon's HV20
I am using FCP 5.0 on an intel iMac, 1.8ghz, 1gig of RAM, running FCP 5.0
I'd like advice on a good work flow in terms of the proper project settings,
capture settings, and compressor settings for a good burn to DVD.
I use the 24p element on the HV20, but I am not really interested in editing native
as I won't be going back to film, just DVD.
Pointers anyone?There's this:
http://creativemac.digitalmedianet.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=188809
And this:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306389
But yeah, you have to get FCP 6. 5.1 was only released to those who shipped off their 5.0 disks, so finding copies for sale will be tough. And FCP 5 was BARELY into HDV editing...forget 24p. You need to get a later version of the software.

Servlet filters on Tomcat 6. Not working on JSPs?
Hi there:
First of all I want to apologize because I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask a question like this, as it may have more to do with the treatment which Tomcat gives to JSPs more than the servlet filter standard. Anyway, here I go...
I'm new into the servlet filter's world (well, nor an expert in Java). To start from a point, I decided to try an example from Sing Li, on the IBM website. The code can be watched and downloaded here (the second one): [http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-tomcat/] .
This filter basically replaces a certain string in the response output (if found) by the dessired one. I've tested this code "as is" (well, changing the package only) and works great for pure servlets. However, testing this with JSPs outputs a simple and plain blank. Doing some research, I've realized that the problem could be in the class which inherits from HttpServletResponseWrapper. Instead of building a new ServletOutputStream I decided to re-utilize exactly the same which comes from the original "request" object but the problem persisted.
Another user, Giampaolo Tomassoni, faced a similar a problem. A message from him can be found here . He solved this overriding the "flushBuffer ()" method on the class which inherits from HttpServletResponseWrapper. I've tryed to the same, forcing the flush of the ServletOutputStream and the PrintWritter without any luck.
By the way, I've made sure that filters work on JSPs. Indeed, I've tested others and have done ok. This seems to be related to HttpServletResponseWrapper.
Do you have any idea about what could be the reason? Many thanks in advance :) .I have the same issue. My 3-month-old Iphone 6 128 GB model (60 GB free) was working fine yesterday. I did not install any new apps, although typically 5-10 apps update automatically every night. Today, out of the blue, about 80% of my apps will not load -- the app window opens then immediately crashes to home page (a double press shows the app is still in memory, but when I select it, it pops up for an instant, then goes back to home icon screen. Example apps (CNN, CBS News, ABC News, NBC News, Scrabble, many others). I tried turning phone off and back on (three times) - no change. Then tried a hard reset (hold power button and home button down simultaneously for 10 seconds) - on reboot still no change. Then I tried a Restore from backup on my PC - after restarting and clicking through all the welcome to ios 8 screeens - no change; most apps still crash immediately after starting.
I took my phone to the Verizon store where I bought it. The agent tried the power off - power on routine again with no success. I informed him that I also tried the restore from backup at home with no success. He authorized a warranty replacement and my new replacement iPhone will be FEDEXed to my home Tuesday. Hope this one works after a restore from backup and this isn't some colossal bug with the latest software update (IOS 8.1.3), which I installed about a week ago. Internet searches reveal that a number of folks are having problems with their 128gb iphone6 devices - something about bad NAND memory.
Stats on my iPhone 6, in case others have similar problems, so we can possibly identify a trend: 4,831 songs; 1 video, 3,912 photos, 392 applications, 114 gb capacity, 59.8 gb free, version 8.1.3, carrier Verizon 18.1, Model MG602LL/A.
Has anyone else started having problems with apps suddenly refusing to work on their 128 gb iPhone6? -
Suggest work flow Engine !!
I need to develop a web portal that uses Jsp - struts - Ajax .. I need a work flow engine written in java so that i can prepare work flow through that and use it in my web site . Suggest solution
Yes, Ant is written in Java. It's not designed as a workflow engine, it's a build tool. But I've heard of a fair few people using it as a workflow engine. You'd have to write custom tasks for it, obviously. I don't know the details, but I bet Google does

Sharepoint Foundation Can not update External List by Work Flow
Hi
I try to update External List by other list Work Flow, in Sharepoint 2010 Foundation.
Here is the manual:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ff394479(v=office.14).aspx
But it fails , and the error message is “The
workflow could not update the item in the external data source. Make sure the user has permissions to access the external data source and update items.”
Is there some limited in Foundation?http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/0bb9ef28-3614-4db2-b19f-dd81e8cc2d42/the-workflow-could-not-update-the-item-in-the-external-data-source?forum=sharepointgeneralprevious
With no Secure Store in Sharepoint what we ended up doing was creating a new external content type, adding a new connection and picking a connection type of .net type instead of sql. This means we needed to create a .net app as the go between but within
.net we had all the usual tools for connecting to sql without permission issues.
Also check

Filter does not work with *.jsp URL pattern???
Hi All,
I am, by no means, very good at JSF or Java. I have looked at various forum posts on here for ways to implement a security filter to intercept requests to pages that first require one to be logged in, and if not, redirect them to the login page. Yes, I know a lot of you have heard this many times before, and I'm sorry to bring it up again.
BUT, from the guidance of other posts, I have got a filter that works fine when the url pattern is set to "/faces/*" or "/<anything>/*", however it won't work for "*.jsp" or "*.<anything>"
My filter is as follows:
package test.security;
import javax.faces.context.FacesContext;
import javax.servlet.Filter;
import javax.servlet.FilterChain;
import javax.servlet.FilterConfig;
import javax.servlet.http.HttpSession;
import javax.servlet.ServletRequest;
import javax.servlet.ServletResponse;
import javax.servlet.ServletException;
import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest;
import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse;
public class SecurityFilter implements Filter{
/** Creates a new instance of SecurityFilter */
private final static String FILTER_APPLIED = "_security_filter_applied";
public SecurityFilter() {
public void init(FilterConfig filterConfig) {
public void doFilter(ServletRequest request, ServletResponse response, FilterChain chain) throws java.io.IOException, ServletException{
HttpServletRequest req = (HttpServletRequest)request;
HttpServletResponse res = (HttpServletResponse)response;
HttpSession session = req.getSession();
String requestedPage = req.getPathTranslated();
String user=null;
if(request.getAttribute(FILTER_APPLIED) == null) {
//check if the page requested is the login page or register page
if((!requestedPage.endsWith("Page1.jsp")) /* This is the login page */
//set the FILTER_APPLIED attribute to true
request.setAttribute(FILTER_APPLIED, Boolean.TRUE);
//Check that the session bean is not null and get the session bean property username.
if(((test.SessionBean1)session.getAttribute("SessionBean1"))!=null) {
user = ((test.SessionBean1)session.getAttribute("SessionBean1")).getUsername();
if((user==null)||(user.equals(""))) {
// try {
// FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().redirect("Page1.jsp");
// } catch (ServletException ex) {
// log("Error Description", ex);
res.sendRedirect("../Page1.jsp");
return;
//deliver request to next filter
chain.doFilter(request, response);
public void destroy(){
}My web.xml declaration for the filter is:
<filter>
<description>Filter to check whether user is logged in.</description>
<filter-name>SecurityFilter</filter-name>
<filter-class>test.security</filter-class>
</filter>
<filter-mapping>
<filter-name>SecurityFilter</filter-name>
<servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
</filter-mapping>
Note: I have also tried this with <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern> for the filter mapping in place of the Faces Servlet
My web.xml declaration for the url pattern is:
<servlet-mapping>
<servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
</servlet-mapping>Which JSC/NetbeansVWP automatically creates a "JSCreator_index.jsp" which has:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<jsp:root version="1.2" xmlns:jsp="http://java.sun.com/JSP/Page">
<jsp:forward page="Page1.jsp"/>
</jsp:root>When run, this causes an Error 500 in the browser and a NullPointerException in SecurityFilter.java on the line:
if((!requestedPage.endsWith("Page1.jsp")) /* This is the login page */I think I'm missing something that would be obvious to anyone who knows better than me. Any ideas?Dear Ginger and Boris,
thanks for the information - the problem seems to ocur in EP7 as well, Boris told me it is fixed in SP15. We are on SP14 now, so there is hope !
actually the information in the oss note stated above is also true, as we have an Oracle DB. On a similar demo system (only difference is SQL DB) the hyphen search works !
best regards, thank you !
