Publish to You Tube and choose the "unlisted" option.
This way it can only be videwed by people who have the link.
You get given the link once it is published.

We have 6 ipods and 1 iphone in our house. We have different itunes accounts. We use one computer. How can we share each others music? I moved everybodies itunes media folder to the public folder but when I open itunes I only see that accounts music.

Adding media directly to the media folder does not make it appear in the library. iTunes doesn't really 'look' at that folder except to go to specific files when you call upon them from a library. You have to drag new content to each user's library, that is assuming each user has their own library.

I am having a problem moving files from an imac in one location to an imac inanother location. I have tried using Dropbox which is installed in both locations but when i drad a file ino yhe app it becomes an alias. When I get to the other location it says I can't open the file because the " original application that created it is not present". This is despite the fact that the app that created both files is installed in both computers. If I use the Public folder in the idisc, when I get to the other location the file isn't there. Am I forgetting to turn something on or off? Should I manually sync the Public folder and if so how? Thanks

My itunes won't open, and the FAQ won't help

this problem may be familiar:
i downloaded and installed itunes 6 just the other day. after it finished updating i went to open itunes, and it wouldn't open, and it only gave me the error message. i went to the support center and it recognized the problem, telling me to uninstall quicktime and then repair itunes. however i didn't find quicktime in the "add or remove programs" list, despite the fact that it was open and displayed in my computer's toolbar. i exited quicktime and tried repairing itunes again, no luck. i tried opening quicktime again and it wouldn't open, and the uninstaller also doesn't work. i'm thinking my only option now is to uninstall itunes, but i'm really worried that i'd lose 35 gigs of music if i did. 1: is my problem fixable and how, and 2: if i have to uninstall itunes, will i lose all my music? should i back it up?

it didn't work! i uninstalled itunes and then reinstalled it, and the same problem persists! quicktime still isn't in the add or remove programs list, and it still won't open! this is immensely frustrating. what do i do?

There are several possible reasons why the new window opens in the background and not in the foreground by default.

What you can do is

I developed a Web Application, wich have some Crystal Reports. I am using VS2010, C#, Framework 4 and I installed the last version of CR.
The thing is that if I run the application with Visual Studio it works fine, it show the reportes without errors, but when I deploy it (in the same machine, just to try), I am getting the error:

Also, is it a 64 bit machine? check the target platform of the application and set it accordingly.
Few things to try
- Check if the reports exist and are accessible by the application (permissions, filepath,)
- Do not publish the report using the publish option, just as a test copy them manually.

How do I get new tabs to open at the end of the tab bar rather than next to the tab i am working on?

Im running firefox 3.6.12 on a pretty dated computer. Im using Windows XP Home Edition SP3
On previous FireFox editions, opening new tabs from pages Im working on, used to appear at the end of the list of tabs. Now when I open it, it appears right next to me.
Is there a way of altering this setting? I often open multiple tabs from the same page by clicking a link with the mouse wheel and I like to work through them in the order I clicked them. This is usualy for comparing things like holidays, car insurance etc

Finder shows no icons in any folder/drive opened from the desktop?

I noticed this whilst I was running the beta, but figured it would have been fixed in time for the public release.
When I open a folder or drive from it's icon on the desktop I have noticed something odd happens. Either the folder/drive's contents are displayed with slightly blocky text and sometimes overlapping each other, or the folder/drive shows no contents at all.
I have to open Finder from the dock and then navigate to the folder/drive I wish to access to see the contents correctly.
Has anyone else had a similar experience or know of a fix or correction I can apply?

I actually just noticed the "media" option is no longer listed along the left side of Finder. I think that is where I accessed iphoto and my other picture folder.
There is no media option in the Finder. That only turns up in Open... Dialogues like this:

Drop Box folder in the Public folder not showing on the network

Hi everyone,
I am running a MacBook Pro 2010 running OS X 10.8.3 Mountain Lion. We have an office and multiple mac computers connected to our network. For us to transfer files we use the Drop Box folder inside the Public folder (We do not use the dropbox website/service). We would use the finder and click on the computer on the sidebar, open the Drop Box folder and drag files in with no hassel. However my Drop Box folder is not showing up when other users are trying to access my computer via the network.
My file sharing is on and I have attached an image with the settings I am using. I have compared these settings to other macs in the office that have a working Drop Box folder and they match. Hope you guys can help me.

Having multiple environments open in the same thread.

I have a question about the concurrency model inside the bdbje. I read the documents and faqs and wrote some simple
programs using it.
Here is my question, from my understanding, one can open an environment in multiple processes assuming that only
one of the environments is opened for writing. I would like to know how can I open one read environment
and one write environment in the same process. Since in my application, reads and writes can be initiated from
multiple processes [assuming that always having at most one writer]. In my tests when a process receives
a read requests it creates an environment for reading, and if during the reading process the process receives
a write request, it create a new environment to handle the write request. This simple thing throws the following exception:
je.env.isReadOnly is set to false in the config parameter which is incompatible with the value of true in the underlying environment
It seems like I can't have multiple environments with different configurations open at the same time in the same process, i would like
to know if this is really the case, are there any option that I can tweak to fix this.

An immutable property of an Environment can not be changed
at runtime. The ReadOnly property for an environment is one of
the few immutable environment properties. Hence, the IllegalArgumentException
was thrown when your application tried to open an environment handle as
ReadWrite when a handle had already been opened ReadOnly. All environment
handles opened by a single process must have the same value for immutable
properties.

JFileChooser issue - open at the back of the browser

I have a strange issue using JFileChooser. I have implemented a WebApplication with a browse option to a folder(not files). For this JFileChooser has been used. Strangely when I click on "Browse" button, the controller calls the JAVA class, and the dialog opens behind the browser (only for the first time). and next time onwards it opens on the browser only. What PORTS to open in the Environment

I want to setup two nodes RAC plus a Physical Standby plus a Logical Standby and a Grid Control server. I need to tell network admins to OPEN ports in firewall so that each servers can talk to other. My question is what are the default ports used by these servers so that it can left OPEN.
Or let know the doc / url etc where I can find the info.

For the public interface port 1521 is the default. I do not recall, without looking it up, the default for the OEM Grid agents. My recommendation, for Data Guard, is that you choose a different port and set it up with a different listener ... 1522 comes to mind immediately.
But as to what other port ranges need to be open for the actual connection you need to read the docs. 1521 is used only for connecting to the listener. The actual database connection does not use that port and does not use any specific port rather it uses a range.

Are the JSRs working for the 'public'?

Part of the JCP/JSR review process is a 'public' draft, where anyone can comment on it. Comments on this are then supposed to lead to possible changes in the reference implementation followed up by a final draft and a final acceptance.
1.5 (tiger) is supposed to be released this summer. And JSR 201 which includes autoboxing and a lot of other stuff ( http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=201 ) is in that. There is a beta (or alpha) program right now for 1.5. Yet 201 is not in the review stage yet. That isn't too unexpected given that they have to work the kinks out. I suspect it just isn't done yet.
However, it does make me wonder what point the 'public review' serves. I doubt that by the time it is released that any comment, other than perhaps documentation changes, will be incorporated. It simply will be too late.
I have reason to believe that at least one other JSR will end up being handled in the same way.
Does anyone else have reason to believe that comments received during a public review of any JSR in 1.5 would result in either a major or even minor change?

To be honest, I am not sure. I considered joining the
JAI experts group (A long while back). It did not
appear to be free. At the very least it requires you
have funding available to attend meetings and work on
the proposals (which tends to limit contributors to
those working for supportive companies). That may
have just been JAI though.In the past it cost - I looked into joining as well.
What I looked at a couple of days ago says there is no cost to join.
I don't know if they have on-site meetings. I figured most of it was electronic.
