The webcam on my HP Probook 4540s (Windows 8.1)  work when i go to my camera it says connect camera. i updated the driver and it was working for about 30 seconds and then it went back to a black screen saying connect camera again. How do I fix this?

Hello Shawna_Kae,
I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial product. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/ .
I hope this helps!
Best regards,

  • My built-in webcam is not working. Macbook not recognizing it?

Ive had no problems with my built in webcam before but for some reason today and yesterday my Built in Macbook camera is not showing.. No Green light and no camera? Skype, photobooth, Imovie, online sites, Ichat, Nothing Works with my camera, it says No camera Connected? Please help. Macbook 10.5.8  Version.

    HI,
Go to the Apple icon menu and hold the ALT key down whilst doing so.
Select System Profiler (it changes when and if you hold the ALT key down)
IN the System Profiler open up the Hardware > USB option
Does this list the camera ?
If not then do a SMC/PMU reset (the model Specific bits are at the bottom)
If it does appear then Log in a different Mac User Account (You may need to create one in System Preferences > Accounts)
Do those same Apps "see" the camera now ?

  • Spectre XT 13-2308TU Built-in Webcam is not working

    Hi,
I recently bought a HP Spectre XT 13-2308TU, and I was able to use my webcam (HP Truevision HD Camera) for a few seconds before it blanks out and I was never able to recover usage of the webcam..
In the device manager, it displays the correct driver whenever I start up, which is the HP Truevision HD Camera, but after attempts to use the webcam, say from Skype, Google+ or even Cyberlink YouCam, it immediately switches to this spca2082 PC Camera.
There were previous posts with different models and I've tried the steps given but to no avail.
Any proven methods to solve this issue?? I need to use my webcam urgently..
    Thanks!

There is a thread that discusses this issue and in most cases in the thread it is not solved.  You should read it.
The best solution in the thread, that sometimes works, appears to be reinstallation of the operating system.
I would use the recovery media to execute a factory image recovery before contacting HP, if the issue still exists.   Save all important data before you do this. You might also consider trying Windows Refresh to see if that does the trick.
Have you created usb recovery media or a recovery disk set?

  • My built-in webcam is not being detected by CyberLink Youcam on Windows 7 (HP Pavilion dv2660se)

Hi, I bought this laptop from someone I know, and Windows 7 came with it. I must say I don't know much about electronics. The built-in webcam won't work, either on CyberLink YouCam or on MSN Messenger. On CyberLink Youcam, it says no webcam is detected. In the control panel it doesn't even say there's a webcam, but there's an 'unknown peripheric' though. What can I do? P.S.: Please forgive english mistakes if there's any.

Hi I have exactly the same problem. My webcam was working for months but I recently had the laptop sent for repairs for something else, and I've just noticed since having it back that the webcam isn't detected. When going into the webcam program it says there is no webcam detected and for integrated cameras, make sure it is switched on. I've also had an unknown USB device notification flashing up but when I investigate in Device Manager I have in 'Sound, video and game controllers' Cyberlink Youcam virtual driver installed and 'functioning properly' Also in USB devices there is a usb not functioning properly "Universal Serial Bus Controllers / (Standard USB Host controller) / Port_#0002.Hub_#0003" and 'no drivers have been loaded for this device'. It's unknown but when I choose to search  manually for driver updates the path it directs me to is C:\Program Files (x86)\Realtek\NICDRV_8169\win7    'Windows has stopped this device as it has reported problems (Code 43)' Does anyone know what I might be able to do? I've tried reinstalling the Webcam driver but apparent from that I don't really know where to go.... Thanks

    Hello,
I see that you're having an issue with the webcam in the notebook. If you could, please check and see if the webcam is listed in the device manager. If you don't know how to check for that, you can follow step 1.
Now, if you can't seem to find it listed in the device manager it could be that the webcam may have become unplugged internally and requires service. It could be a faulty webcam module which is not been recognized. I suspect you might have to send the Notebook in for a warranty repair to get it fixed. Now, if that's the case after following the steps below you will need to call HP@8004746836 and see what options they have to replace or repair the notebook.
Also, you can follow these steps to try and resolve the issue.
    Steps:
Please follow this document which will guide you through a couple of steps on how to resolve this issue you're having.
The document should something like this:
First, try this steps that's circled.
If the first steps doesn't seem to resolve the issue go ahead and follow the next step below.
The first section "Video does not appear in your webcam software (such as YouCam, Skype, Messenger, etc.)" will guide you through a couple of trouble shooting steps to get the webcam to work within these programs.
If the first step doesn't resolve the issue please go to step #2 "Reinstalling the original webcam program that came with your computer”. This section will guide you through recovering the webcam software and drivers. This is the most important steps in the document if nothing before this resolves the issue.
It should look something like this:
Once you have finished both steps please let me know the outcome. If you have any more questions please ask.

  • Satellite M645-S4050: built in camera does not work correctly

My built in camera does not work correctly.
It does not have any kind of effect on and it captures pictures and videos as if some kind of thermal camera was on.
Also some videos I load up on youtube look like this.
I have been researching for an answer but can't find it, please help me.

All you can do is to test it with latest webcam driver.
Remove preinstalled camera software and install latest version offered on Toshiba download page.
If the same happen again visit nearest Toshiba service and show them how it looks like. Maybe the cam must be exchanged.
In the past I have used several Toshiba laptops with built in cam but I have never saw something lke this.

  • USB webcam microphone not working with Starcraft 2 voice chat

=USB webcam microphone not working with Starcraft 2 voice chat?Windows 7, X-fi Fatalty Pro
I have a webcam with ?a built in microphone (Ps3 eye). ?It is connected by USB. ?The drivers are the CL-Eye drivers; a third party driver set since Sony does not directly support the eye for PC.
in the windows audio device management, the microphone appears as normal and is set as the default device. ?I can use the windows sound recorder to record me speaking just fine. ?However if I use any other applications it doesn't seem to work at all. ?I can select the device as the default recording device in Starcraft 2 as well as Teamspeak 3 but no sound is detected. ?The USB microphone does not show up as a selectable device in recording options in my Creative Control Panel. ?Disabling the default creative microphone does nothing.
I think the problem is in that windows can directly detect the microphone and so software that uses the windows audio device manager works fine, but anything that talks directly with my sound card software does not properly detect the microphone. ?Basically, I can select the device as a default device but it does not work.
Any thoughts on this or am I SOL and have to find myself a shiny new headset?

I had the same problem. You need to check the device index of your USB mic.
In my case. I'm on a Mac OSX 10.6 system. I had four devices cataloged. With the last one being the USB mic.
    Then set like so in your AS code audioPub.microphoneManager.micIndex = 3;
Remember, that the indexing is 0 based.
The sound framework make the assumption that the index is 0.
    Hope that helps.

  • Built-in webcam isn't working.

I have HP 2000 Notebook PC with Windows 8. Built-in webcam isn't working. it's not detected by apps e.g. Cyberlink Youcam . even there isn't Imaging Devices in Device Manager.

It is an issue with the hardware. Mine came like that and they want me to ship it to them to be fixed for God knows how long. I'll just go buy an external webcam and next month when I have to replace my pc's at work I will shop for anything OTHER than HP. Not nice to sell crap to a person that works for an ISP and can warn her customers of the crap you sell.

  • Satellite U400 - the webcam does not work anymore

Hello guys here is my sudden probloema!
About a year ago I purchased a laptop
    TOSHIBA - Satellite U400
with s.o. WinVista 32bit and with integrated webcam chicony etc. ....
For a year, everything worked correctly, but for some days now, the webcam does not work anymore.
As soon as I try to open it, a message of management software cam that says "Webcam driver open fail, please restart or computer room"
I tried to do it all: aggioronato and downloaded the drivers from toshiba, uninstalled the program and re installed the webcam ....! updated bios notebook ....! useless!
the strange thing .. well that going into device manager ... the webcam is not there ....! but if the launch seems to open just then check quell caz ... Warning!!
    Gan you help me?
    Graziee

Are you familiar and comfortable with LINUX LIVE bootable discs to load an alternative operating system with unobtrusive but extensive Toshiba device support so you can determine if your webcam hardware is ruined or if the problem is software and possibly solved reinstalling Windows ?
At this point, you're pondering less time consuming but more expensive choices such as buying another web cam, or another computer and you might be temporarily borrowing someone else's web cam / using a non preferred spare web cam that isn't optimal for your needs.
Continuously downloading software, registry cleaners, and repeatedly reinstalling drivers will eventually ruin your Windows installation and consume more time than you've wasted so far and still doesn't guarantee to fix your malfunction.

  • Satellite Pro M30 Win 7 - webcam does not work on msn messenger

    Hi all
I have a Satellite Pro M30 Modell Nr.: PSM35E and have just changed to Windows 7. But the Nvidia Card NVIDIA GeForceTM FX Go5200 Grafik mit 64 MB RAM does not work properly.
I could find a driver from Vista and installed it, have Aero pics on the desktop, but my webcam does not work on msn messenger and this is the only way for me to see my family.
    Can someone help me?
    Thanks for your help

    Hi
Im a little bit confused; do you have some problems with the graphic card or with the webcam?
I assume you are speaking about external webcam connected to the USB port? Right?
What happens if you connect the webcam to the notebook? Can Win 7 recognize the connected device? Did you install additional drivers for this webcam?
In most cases its necessary to do that because I think its not plug & play device.

  • Microsof VX 3000 or 6000 Webcam does not work with Lync 2013 under Windows 8.1

    Hi,
The problem is that i cannot use the Microsoft VX-3000 or VX-6000 with Lync 2013 under Windows 8.1.
If i go in settings under Video i can see the preview from the webcam just fine, so it works there no problem.
Wenn i try to enable my camera in a conference it does not work, i get an error: Your video cannot be started.
Now, there are no Windows 8.1 drivers for the Webcam so i installed the latest Windows 7 drivers. Because of that this webcam does not work with apps, that is fine i understand the driver problem and the way the new apps work.
But this Webcam works with skype under Windows 8.1 and it works with Lync 2010 client.
The same Webcam works just fine with Lync 2013 under Windows 7.
Is there anything i could do so that i get this Webcam to work with Lync 2013 desktop client under Windows 8.1?
    Thanks

    Hi,
According to your description, it may be caused by driver.
You can try to install the latest version of Display Driver to fix the display issue.
Since there is no driver for Windows 8.1, I suggest you wait for updating.
You can also post a case on Windows 8 forum, thank you for your understanding:

  • Built in webcam doesn't work in Ubuntu

    Hi everyone
I've just installed a clean Ubuntu 14.04 on my MSI CR620 notebook. So, my built-in webcam is not recognized by Skype (in it's video settings it says "device not found"). Hitting Fn+F6 doesn't affect anything. Any helpful advice would be highly appreciated

Try to google for the webcam driver on Ubuntu since there isn't any supported linux driver from MSI.
    It has an AzureWave webcam.
Found some information about the skype webcam of ubuntu may be helpful.
