Burned DVD DOESNT WORK!!!???? Help Please
This is my first time attempting to burn a dvd using DVD Studio Pro. I made a very simple DVD using a template and only two videos TRT: 65sec each. Both clips are in HD and one with surround sound audio (AC-3). I tried tweaking little things in the preferences to try and print a usable DVD, but still no success. I have watched the tutorial(included with FCS2 package) and read the parts of the manual concerning the exporting or burning process and still no luck.
In the log, about mid way through the burn process there was an error :
Warning: The file 'EX_DVD.layout' found in the VIDEO_TS or HVDVD_TS folder will not be included in the dinal disc. (listed 2X)
Now i dont understand why when i play the DVD on my iMac it plays, yet none of my 4 (fairly new) DVD players will play it. I never had this problem with iDVD.
If anyone can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully someone out there knows exactly whats going on with my project.
Please respond either with solutions to my problem or your step by step burning process.

Ok - the error about the layout file is normal... it is a warning and not an error, and perfectly OK.
Have a look on the disc using the finder - what folders do you see?
As Darren said, you can't switch from HD to SD, you have to re-author. You can switch the other way, mind you...
Let us know what folders are on the disc, and what you find inside them. Also, what did you set as 'first play' on your project?

Hello. My PE3 works just fine, except for one problem, that has plagued me for some time. When I finish editing, then complete the menu (title) page, I click "burn dvd". Invariably, PE closes. When I re-open the project and redo the menu- the forced closure didn't save the menu- it works fine, every time. I tried saving the project and re-opening before burning, but it doesn't seem to help. I'm running XP, Service Pack 3, with 2.80 GHz and 1 Gig of ram. Any help would be appreciated.

I just purchased a MacBook Pro Retina. Checked my OSX and it is version 10.8.1... trying to find a way to upgrade to a higher version. In the app store it doesnt show the update nor downloading the new Mountain Lion OXS doesnt work. Please help

Not yet. There was an upgrade page to 10.8.2 for the late 2012 models but it's down now. I have to assume that Apple pulled it because of some bugs. I would look for something next week, more likely than not. In the meantime, the OP should be good with 10.8.1 until the update shows up again.

At this point I would recommeng resetting the device if if will not turn on.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Ok. You don't have to select your number. Just check your email under your "grey" number and then at the bottom of this page you will see the option "Start new conversations from". Select your number.

1. Right click speaker icon (right hand corner)
2. Select Microphone devices
3. Right click Microphone
4. Enable it
5. Click Apply/Ok

Unless you're trying to tether your phone to your computer or create a personal hotspot, it won't pair with your computer by bluetooth. File transfer by bluetooth is not supported. So, you can quit trying unless you're trying to tether.

lately I have realised that my CD/DVD drive doesnt work? I tried to burn a CD the other day but the program I use said it cannot see any availible burners. I checked the decive manager but I couldnt see it anywhere? The CD/DVD tray still ejects like normal and the LED still lights up but doesnt boot any type of disc. Any help is greatly appreciatedi am having this same issue. i tried to delete the registry for it and re install the drivers and all but keep telling me bad registry entry for it. even before i tried to delete it. HP wants 60$ to remotely fix it for me. some how when i bought this laptop i only got a 90 day warranty? i dont know how that could be. but i can put a cd/dvd in the player and it SOUNDS like its winding up to play it but then nothing is happpening. i cant find the drive in MY COMPUTER, with or with out a disc in the drive. please someone help us on this. ive seen posts all over the internet for this but not a single reply or any insight that might help.

Hi, I edited a 60i NTSC video from a canon XL2, and it looks fine on the external monitor (TV), the FCP preview and everything. It even looks good when I export a QT mov with no compression.
But as soon as I burn it on iDVD and play it on a DVD player, the whole interlacing business goes terribly, terribly wrong.
I've tried all possible exporting settings, but it doesn't work. Should I de-interlace the clips? I've gathered from reading the forums that it might help, but it sounds like a desperate solution, since the text should be interlaced but not the video?
I mean... what did I do wrong? Isn't ot supposed to just work straight-through with the NTSC DV Easy Setup and changing only to "None" on the compressing settings at export?

For exporting, I used the Export>Quicktime movie, just like you said, using the current setting (i.e. Compression:None)
The DVD player was connected to a PAL TV, but it's OK because the DVD player can read anything. I know because I've watched NTSC as well as PAL dvd movies before.
The Canon XL2 the Mac is connected to, via Firewire, is NTSC, connected via RCA to the PAL TV. Which means the signal I'm watching is Black & White... (I know this sounds WEIRD)... but it's O.K. because what I'm really checking as I edit is the interlacing problem that I got when playing the DVD on the dvd player.... : the BAD problem.
How bad? Really bad. Any sudden movement, or panning of objects with vertical lines, like a painting or a building looks all wobbly and curvey and blurry and wrong, which is unnacceptable for the project I'm doing, as it is a professional work (Meaning that I'm charging money for it, despite the crazy assemble of different products and formats I'm using).
I've gotten things that look good before, but never on Final Cut Pro.. I'm new to the program, and to Mac, and this is the first video I'm exporting to a DVD on this platform. -
My iPhone is frozen. It was working find about a hour ago and then for no reason the screen went to the apple logo. I have tried to reset it and that doesnt work. When I press the power/lock button and the center key it turns off but then it comes right back to the apple logo screen and wont go any further. Please help I dont have my stuff saved and would like to keep the stuff i do have on it!!! Every once in awhile the screen will go black for a few seconds then the apple logo pops right back up! I dont know what to do.....

If it works after that, use the backup to restore from. -
Mega 865 DVD RW drive - HELP PLEASE
Hello again been a long time since i have been here. Anyway the reason im back is that my DVD RW (NEC 2500A) is getting "Power callibration" errors when burning .. tried all the new firmwares etc so looks like the drive is dead..
Now my question is .. what drive can i get to replace is .. i.e is the NEC 3550A good etc... or is there better onces...
I remember about a year or so ago there was a list on here but couldnt find it ( i did try and search)

Thanks"Power calibration" errors can be caused by a failing drive, or by using bad media. also, have you tried using a DVD head cleaning disc, in case the lens is dirty?

My dress up game is not working HELP PLEASE!!!
Hi I have created a dress up game for my A2 (last year of college) everything is working perfectly except for two things. I have some idea of how the functions and script work however I just started using flash about a month ago and I have had no solid helo from my teacher which is very annoying.
1) The first problem is in navigation when I go back to my homepage using the button provided on frames 2 to 6 the button doesnt work again. Basically, on my homepage i click on the womens section and navigate through the different clothing however when i go back to my homepage and click on the womens section again the button doesnt work. In the output section this is the message that shows up:

everything is working perfectly as in the drag and drop and everything but I am confused as to how to make the same mannequin stay on all the pages, so that if the user dresses the mannequin with a top they can click on trousers and dress them up with trousers as well.

I droped my z10 in the water screen touch doesnt work HELP!
I accedently dropped my z10 in the toilet. I put it in rice for 3 days. the screen turns on and you can see everything on there but when i try swiping to unlocking it or answering calls where the calling swipe appears the touch swipe doesnt work on that part so it wont allow me to answer calls of unlock? what should i do? Please help I love my z10!

1. Remove the battery immediately!! Do not attempt to turn on your BlackBerry.
2. Let the device dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days* (see below)
