Button to Load New Content on Same Page

I'm not new but I don't design enough websites in a year to keep up with all the new technology & I'm afraid I've missed some of the basics along the way.
I design my sites with DIVs within Dreamweaver CS5 & I want to have a button within a DIV that when clicked will change out the entire content of another DIV, including pictures & text, etc...
Basically I want to load a new page within a DIV on the same page.
Very similar to what I used to do with frames back in the old days.
I'm guessing there's a simple solution but I don't even know where to start with this.
Any suggestions or help here will be greatly appreciated.

Hi John,
I hope you don't plan to build your entire site around this model. If you do, your home page is going to take forever to load. And people on dial-ups and mobile devices won't appreciate all that excess bandwidth.
A well-conceived web site should have separate pages to deal with each topic. Also, search engines will treat you better if your site has pages with unique <titles> on them. To make a consistent looking site (with same menu, header & footer on all pages), consider using DW Templates or Server-Side Includes.

How do i create a button which will show new content on same page?

Hello,
I hope someone can help.
I have an image; it's a circle with different parts and different colors for each part. I inserted an image in this post.
I want to be able to make a button out of each part (will do this with Photoshop), BUT i want to have a text shown on the right from the wheel if you click on a particle of the circle. So i don't want it to go to a new page, but i want to have a textframe to pop-up when you click. And when you click on a different part of the circle a new text will occur (and the old one won't show).
Hope i made my question clear, english is not my motherlanguage so i'm sorry if my sentences are a bit weird.
Thanks a lot, i hope it can be done with Muse! (This is a big part of the website.)

Hello,
You can achieve this using a blank compostion widget ot a tooltip widget.
You would need to use "no fill" for the trigger containers so that they are transparent and then place them onto each portion of the image.
Now when user clicks on that portion of the image, the trigger above it gets clicked and in a target container you can have the text displayed.
The only issue here would be that the trigger containers would be of square/rectangular shape so you might not be able place them peroperly to cover all the sections of the image.

Load different content in same page

Hello,
I am putting together a css site and have my css file working
and an html file that sets up my page how I would like. however I
don't have the nav bar working in an ideal fashion. Is it possible
to have different content load into the content area of my one html
file based on user nav menu selection? If it is not already clear,
I am new to this and any help is truly appreciated. Thank you,

New details on same page won't insert

Hi,
I am not able to get a master-detail-on-same-page to work properly.
It is created with a wizard.
After adding the first row and entering data, the row is lost when clicking Apply Changes of the master.
The row is not inserted in the database.
When I first add a second row without entering data, the first row is inserted when clicking Apply Changes of the master.
Also when adding the second row, an extra Apply Changes button appears for the details.
I am using theme '14. Modern' in APEX 3.0.1 on 10g XE.
Any help will be welcome,

Hi again,
The same problem can be seen when following the Advanced Tutorial topic 'How to Create a Master Detail PDF Report'.
After following the instructions you get a report with master detail form.
When all detail rows are deleted, the Apply Changes button of the details table disappears.
You now can add a fill in a new row. However the Apply Changes button won't save your new detail row. Though adding a next row without entering data will save the first row, and the Apply Changes button reappears.
So, after all the job is done. However it is not the way of working we will instruct end users.
Is their a way to get the Apply Changes reappear just after adding the first row?

How do you link a button to a image on the same page?

I created a photoshop button and pulled it into my Muse website, and I want to link it to an image on the same page. I have a slide show set up, and this way I could have a secondary menu with buttons corresponding to each image in the slideshow. I can only find the option to link the button to another page, or link it to an external website. Help!

So in this case, In slideshows, the links are actually get applied on Hero image or on the slideshow containers.

Here's a little bit more information about what I am trying to do because the idea with the HTML portlet isn't going to work due the application I am developing.
The idea is this:
I have about 100 or so images that report server statistics in png format that are already automatically updated every 10 minuets. What I would like to have is a situation where you have region 1 and region 2 right next to each other. In region 1 are all of the links to the locations of the images (which like I said are already automatically updated with PERL). When you click on the link in region 1, I would like it to show up in region 2. similar to old html frames or iFrames.
Any Suggestions? I am having a hard time with trying to figure out (despite all the "official" oracle books at my disposal) how to have one region display into a different one to suit this need.

I was wondering if i could make my buttons link to other places on the same page, so you'll automaticcaly scroll down to the right part of the site.
I know how to link to other pages but not likes this.

Triggering new window in same page

Hi,
can Any one tell me how to trigger a new window in the same page..... I mean how to display the data in news paper format
ie; when the data is completed in 1st column it should continue in the 2nd column of the same page.........

well,
The businees requirement is .... the data should be displayed in newspaper format (column wise). ie; the windows are side by side in a page .... after finishing to print the data in 1st window it should continue in second(side) window of the same page rather than proceeding to a new page window.... I think this expalins my requirement...

Everytime I click on a link, instead of loading it on the same page it opens a new tab.

Suddenly every time I click on a link, it opens it in a new tab i.e.; if I search yahoo from my home page, it opens yahoo in a new tab, then when I click on yahoo mail, it opens yahoo mail in a new tab, and then when I sign in, it opens yet another new tab, etc etc. I must have pressed something, but I don't know how to undo it.

Adding New Data To Same Page - HELP

I am trying to put together a invoice on the fly, the products are added to the invoice by selecting the disired product from a drop down menu and hitting the add button. You SHOULD then be able to select more products from the same drop down menu and htting add again will include it in the invoice.... simple?? Well the problem i have is that when i hit the add button to add another item it just replaces the one i have already added.... this is very annoying... i cannot think of a way to take the product data through the form submission ready for adding too.
Any Ideas this is really bugging me, and the more time i spend on it, the worse its getting. Code Below

I have created a custom command and returned the following parameters in getLinkAttributes method but the content still opens in a window. How can I display the content in the same window/

Running Firefox 11.0 on WinXP about:config value browser.newtab.url is missing and no way to load new tabs with home page. How do I fix this ?

Every tab opened from new tab box opens blank. there is no value in about:config to change. Can browser.newtab.url be added ?

Displaying dynamic news content on all pages

I want to display content edited on one webpage on multiple
pages on the site instantly. How may I do this with Dreamweaver
8?

Your question is somewhat confusing?
When you say the content is edited on one page, do you mean
that you are editing it in dreamweaver or it is being dynamically
edited on the page itself?
Possible solutions are:
Put your content in a DB and kick it out to all pages
Use SSI

How to open a link from search engine in the same page

I just noticed that my links are opening in new windows instead of on the same page on Safari. Is there anyway I can change it back to where if I click on a link in the Yahoo search engine that it would just open within the same page without opening a new tab or window, where I can go back and forth between pages? For example, say I type in "wikipedia" on Yahoo home page and click search. Then it takes me to the Yahoo! Search Results page with a link to the Wikipedia website. When I click on that link, the Wikipedia home page loads right within the same page instead of opening a new tab or window and loading into that new tab or window. If I wanted to go back to the search results, I can just click the back button. I remember Safari doing that before, is there anyway to get back to that? Thanks.

You can set the Integer pref <b>browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external</b> to "<i>1</i>" on the <b>about:config</b> page.
