Button to 'Print This Page Only to a printer of your choosing'

I need to create a button to allow my user to print their current page to a printer of their choosing.
Having them go to file print, etc etc is not an option as it will be used by hundreds of people, and the pdf is hundreds of pages long. (if they just select 'Print' that would be a lot of wasted paper)
Ive been able to locate a Javascript that prints to the Default Printer, but my users change computers several times per day, and the default printer might located on the other side of town!
Here is the script for 'Print this page to default printer' if anyone can assist by altering it to choose which printer, that would be amazing..
Javascript:
this.print(false, this.pageNum,this.pageNum);
Even creating a button to open the print dialog box with 'Current Page' pre-selected would be ok.

You need to use the PrintParams properties to get/set the print UI:
var pp = this.getPrintParams();
pp.firstPage = this.pageNum;
pp.lastPage = pp.firstPage;
pp.interactive = pp.constants.interactionLevel.full;
this.print(pp);

  • Acrobat X - Read this Page Only not working

    Hello,
    I have Acrobat Pro X, and need to make accessible PDFs from InDesign. Before I upgraded to Acrobat X, I used to have Acrobat read the text to me to help check the reading order. But in Acrobat X, the "Read this page only" selection does not work. If I click on some text, it will read that line, but that doesn't help me to see what order it will actually read since it doesn't read the next line to the end of the page unless I manually click on it.
    My problem is that we tag things in InDesign and set up the proper reading order (we've tried using the structure and using the Articles panel...), but in the Reading Order panel, it often shows a different order. Even two text frames that are threaded, it will show the 2nd text frame as being 1st in the reading order rather than the 1st text frame where the text originated. That makes no sense. The tag structure in the PDF looks correct but the reading order does not (if viewing from the TouchUp Reading Order view.
    So we want to make sure we check the reading order, and having it read the page to us is one of the easiest ways to do this.
    Anyone have this kind of problem? Any suggestions to get it to actually read the entire page?

    It is often a good idea use a screen reader to check the accessibility of  files -- even if you check the Tag Structure, content and order panels. Sometimes a file can be corrupt and will not read, even though the tags are perfect and the file passes the Accessibility checker.  This does not happen very often, but I have had it happen several times.
    And many people recommend using a screen reader to check pages with figures or tables.  Read Aloud will NOT do a very good job of checking tables. I don't think it can identify row and column headers or identify cells associated with them.  There are a number of screen readers available for download that are more sophisticated and much better suited for checking file accessibility.  For exampe, Freedom Scientific's Jaws runs in demo mode. You may want to try that.
    Regardless, while the Read Outloud feature was not designed to validate and is not the best tool for the job, it should be working for you.
    You could try using Read Outloud on different files, or on a different machine and see if that makes any difference.  Sometimes system updates and/or software conflicts may effect things. Check and see if the shortcuts below have any effect --
    Ctrl Shift
    B
    Read out loud from the current page to the end of the document
    Ctrl Shift
    C
    Pause reading out loud
    Ctrl Shift
    E
    Stop reading out loud
    Ctrl Shift
    V
    Read only the current page out loud
    Ctrl Shift
    Y
    Activate and deactivate read out loud
    Good luck and let us know if you have resolved the issue.

  • This page can't be displayed because your computer is currently offline - Wifi is connected, but cannot connect to the internet! :/

    "This page can't be displayed because your computer is currently offline" - what exactly does that mean? I've gone through and repaired by hard drive, and there didn't seem to be a problem there. I've manually entered in an IP address several times...and I've checked that there are no proxies selected. Any suggestions or thoughts on what I could do?

    Here's a little background info:
         Connection is to school wifi. I traveled out of the U.S. and connected to a university wifi - authenticated the 802.1x there...so - i've corrected that problem so far.
         I've rebooted my computer several times, checked the hard drive for "damages."
         I've made sure to have the correct username/password combinations.
         As of right now, the 802.1x won't authenticate, but I don't think that's what's causing me to have an "offline connection"

  • What happened to the bookmarks? next to the star which is bookmark this page is not a list of your bookmarks but the bookmark menu....

    with the latest update. Next to the star where you can bookmark a page used to be the bookmarks drop down. Now it opens up your bookmarks menu. How do you get it back to being a drop down of your bookmarks??

    You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some features that got lost with the change to Australis.

  • The security validation for this page is invalid – Infopath 2010

    Hello Experts,
    I have created browser enabled Infopath form and written a custom code (infopath 2010). I have a “Save” button on a form that submits the data into multiple relational sharepoint list. While debugging through VSTA everything goes well and successfully submits
    the data, but after publishing a form(browser enabled) I am not able to save a data to sharepoint list. When I Clicked on save button, it just refreshing a page, even the same was getting after
     made it to full trust and approved by Admin.
    Before this I was using “Submit” button to submit a form, that time I was getting a popup with the message “There has been an error while processing the form”. And in log files it was showing error message as “The security validation
    for this page is invalid”.
    I referred many blogs regarding validation error and tried almost everything in every way, some of shortly mentioned below,
    Formdigest (It not works for me)
    Security Validation (It works perfectly)
    The second option is working for me.  (But this is not a good practice and also not recommended)
    Just want to know “Without making Security Validation Off” how can I resolved this validation issue from infopath 2010 form.
    Please share your thoughts on this. Any help is appreciated.
    Regards,
    Uday

    Hi Uday,
    Have you tried SPWebapplication.FormDigestSettings.Enabled = false to turn off the digest setting property for the web application? See this blog for the details.

    For APA formatting the running head needs to run throughout a paper, but only on the title page is it preceeded by "Running Head:". How can I change the running head on this page only?

    Menu > Insert > Section Break
    Click your cursor in the new (2nd) section.
    Menu > View > Show Inspector
    Inspector > Layout > Section > Page Numbers > uncheck Continue from previous section
    Menu is the menu at the top of your screen when you are in Pages, or anywhere else on the Mac. very hard to miss.
    Yes that is kind of a dumb question.

  • How do i Restrict the users up to the self service pag only in IDM 11g

    Hi all,
    can any one please help me out to restrict the users to self service page only in 11g.
    thanks for your time and support
    Regards

    Your user will have the Administration page if they have an Authorization Policy configured to allow the user any of the User Management or Role Management Functions. Also, if you login as a user that has those tabs, and logout while on the Administration tab, sometimes i've noticed the new user logging in with the same browser session will be in the Administration tab but with no items available.

  • What happened to "bookmark this page" selection in the "show your bookmarks" menu on the right?

    Now I have to:
    1) click again on the stupid blue star to get the menu to place my new bookmark where I choose to instead of have it go to unsorted bookmarks...
    OR
    2) bring up or have up the menu bar and click on the "bookmarks" menu choice of "bookmark this page" which brings up what I'd call the choice or sort menu that lets me access my bookmarks menu...
    ...where I wanted to go to create a bookmark AND I get to select "choose", which is what I used to do when adding ANY bookmark.
    I want the "bookmark this page" selection back on the "show your bookmarks" list on the right...where it belongs. Why does everyone want to keep hiding the useful tools?
    Firefox 29 stinks and I've had nothing but problems from the beginning...and since making the mistake of resetting.
    I now have a folder of stuff that I have no clue what to do with as, upon resetting, I got "Oooops this is embarrassing, we're having a problem" or something. Any clues about what to do with all that "junk" (now, to me) might also be helpful.

    I was used to being able to select the folder to place my bookmark without going into an edit session. This is as useless now as windows "libraries"

  • Print button that prints only certain pages

    I am using Acrobat Pro, and have a large document, the first four page section of which can be a stand alone document.
    I have set up one print button which uses Execute a menu item > File > Print, for users who want to print the whole document.
    I would like to create another button that prints only the first four pages - is this possible?
    Thanks in advance

    You need the Acrobat Pro forum

    This was only 1 page, not a large amount of printing?

  • How do I add a "Print this page" button (not just a "Print" button) to a PDF?

    I am creating a multipage PDF in Acrobat Pro 8 for a client and it includes a linked table of contents with several sections and also several forms sprinkled throughout. I need to be able to add buttons that allow the user to print specific page numbers. Is it possible to add a "print this page" button to a page ... or even a "print this form" in case the form within the larger document is multiple pages? I would appreciate any help, thanks!

    I was just coming back to here to say I've figured it out and am using an invisible button (over text that was created to look like a link) on each page... tested and working (when combined with the code). Thank you for your replies!

  • Print this page button

    Hi,
    I found this very handy liittle script for adding a print
    this page button to my pages. See below. I'd like to change the
    button though to a small image of a printer. Does anyone know how I
    can modify this script to achieve that.

  • Print Comments and Page Only

    Hi all
    I used to be able to print my comments on the same page with lines showing where those comments on the page, but only have those pages with comments be the ones that printed.
    Now when I try that feature, it prints out not only the pages with the comments, but all other pages as well which say "there are no comments on this page"
    I've tried all of the various options (print on separate pages, print comments only, etc.).
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks
    Gordo

    Hi oldstrings,
    You can change the print setting to print in grayscale(using black ink only).
    I have extracted out the printer setting tips for both windows and mac.
    Alternatively, you may refer to the below user guide reference link.
