Button URL Windows

I would like to use a Flash CS4 button to navigate to another page on my web site that doesn't open a 2nd window. As an example, when the Action Script 3.0 (below) is embedded as an SWF file within the html, a new window opens in addtion to the parent window that contains the embedded SWF file button. Is there way to use a button as part of an embedded Flash SWF file within the html that will close the existing window and replace it with the new target window?  I would like the button to work the same way an html hyperlink link with the _self property. I do not want 2 windows to be open at the same time.
Thanks,
K
// basic button  navigation timeline control
GoogleBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, clickHandler, false, 0, true);
function clickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void
  navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://www.google.com/"))

Look up the navigateToURL() function for a summary of all the window options...

  • TARGET="_blank" in button URL?

    I have a printing servlet I want to call from a button. This works fine, but I need the link to open in new browser window, where the pdf can be shown. I have tried this for button URL:
    http://wmsi001494/rapportServlet/rapport?skemaId=&P71_SKEMA_ID. TARGET="_blank"
    But this does not work. Does anybody know how to get it working?
    Regards Pete

    I tried popupURL, popUp2, and window.open javascripts to open a window using a button. They work fine with HTML pages but fail when I try to open a PDF file.
    The URL I'm using to open the PDF references a function I created following the HOW TOs (e.g. download_my_file?p_file=#ID#). The only alteration I made to the HOW TO download function was to open the file instead of downloading (Content-Disposition: inline instead of attachment).
    Has anyone else had this problem or found a way to open a PDF file that is stored in the database into a new window using a button instead of a link? I should also mention that if I use a link (e.g. href="...download_my_file?p=file#ID#') it works, it just doesn't work if I have to use Javascript to open the file in a window.
    I really need to use a button instead of a link, but can't figure out how to make it work!
    Forgot to mention, the error message reads:
    "There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be found." It's an Adobe Acrobat error, but it opens fine when opened with a standard link.
    Thanks,
    ~Dan

  • The url window will not take me to web address when I type it in. Has always worked before, I have not changed any settings.

    Suddenly today, the url window will not work. I checked Internet Explorer and it works fine on that. I type in www.ups.com and hit enter....nothing....what do I do to make this work again?

    This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
    *Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • In Firefox 4.0.1 (Mac), where is the arrow in the url window that shows the last few visiting sites in a given tab?

    Previous editions of Firefox had an arrow at the right side of the url window of a tab so you could see where you'd been in that tab before--where is it now?

    You can get the drop down list by either right-clicking (or control-clicking) on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.
    If you want the drop-down arrow you can add it with the Back/forward dropmarker add-on - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker (I believe the add-on works on the Mac, but as I do not have a Mac I can not test it)

  • How do I unhide the URL window/field that allows me to directly enter a different URL without using the Search Window/field?

    I need to unhide the window or field that allows me to DIRECTLY enter a different URL. I do not want to use the search engine. I want to manually enter the URL of my choice and go DIRECTLY there.
    So, how do I unhide the URL window?

    It is still there at the left most part part of the address bar, but you have to press and hold the trackpad to use it.
    Click the Share (arrow out of the box) button  to add  bookmark.

  • How do I install a URL window

    I have turned off the addons, gone back to the default Firefox,& Looked at some of the other solutions that relate to URL windows. Nothing seems to work. I get search windows that take me to the wrong places but no simple URL window that takes me to the URL I ask for with out a diversion.

    Do you mean that the location bar (address bar) where you type the URL (address) of a website is missing?
    Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).

    If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key to make the menu bar appear.
    Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
    *Open the Customize window to set which toolbar items to display

  • Portlet minimise/maximise button url code

    Hi,
    I need to change the minimise and maximise button url for the portlet.
    I need to include the page label to the url. Right now it takes only the window label which causes problems when I click the browser back button and then minimise/maximise a portlet on that page.
    Could anyone let me know where I can locate this code.
    Thanks,
    RK

    To change minimize/maximize button images navigate to
    framework\skins\path\to\images( if using default navigate framework\skins\default\images) and replace the image files with the images required.
    The following is the kind of url when I run sample portals:
    http://localhost:7001/samplePortal/*.portal?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=page_1
    I see that the url has pageLabel. I dont understand your context. Can you elaborate??

  • No url window. How can i restore.

    I downloaded coupon printing and decided I didn't want or need the site. Removed it. After removing the program, Firefox was missing the url window. Tried reloading Firefox. Still no url window. Tried Refresh Tool Bar, Edit Tool Bar. No help.
    Please, help.
    Thanks

    Plugins are usually installed and added by other programs installed on the computer, so you may want to check that in the Control Panel > Programs.
    If it happens again:
    Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Command+Shift+F).

    *Firefox menu button > Options
    *View > Toolbars (press F10 to display the menu bar)
    *Right-click empty toolbar area
    Use Toolbar Layout (Customize) to open the Customize window and set which toolbar items to display.
    *if missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
    *if you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar setup

  • URL window has disappeared

    I am using firefox. The URL window where I type in addresses is no longer there. I can still use bookmarks and also google and find websites that way. However, I want to type in addresses also. How do I get it back?
    Also, I have safari on my dock. I try to delete it by putting it in the trash but it refuses. Any ideas? I don't use it at all.

    In firefox, have you tried clicking on the view menu. under the view menu there is a sub menu called toolbars. Under toolbars there is an option the navigation toolbar. It should be checked. if it's not, it would explain why you have no address bar.
    if navigation toolbar is checked, chose "customize.." a new box will drop down from the firefox window called "you can add and remove items by dragging to or from the toolbars." click the "restore default set" button. then click the done button.

  • Button URL With Variables widget that works with HTML5

    Hello,
    I'm currently using the "Button URL With Variables widget 6.x" developed by CaptivateDev. com. Unfortunatley it is not compatible with HTML5 projects in Captivate 7. Do you know where I can find one?
    Thanks,
    Stewart

    I don't know yet about any widget available for HTML5 output, with the exception of the interactions included with Captivate.

  • What word do I type in the URL window to access certain options?

    Help! My personal memory has been blanked. I recall there was something I used to type in the URL window to get Firefox into a rather advanced prefs /options page, but I cannot remember what it was.

    Yes! That was it. I remembered it was a word or two with a colon, but I just blanked out. Thanks very much.

  • Hide/Disable Start Button in Windows 7

    We are migrating from Windows XP to Windows 7. In Windows XP, we can able to find the "Start" button handler and hide it from the user. But this functionality seems to be broken in Windows 7. i am using below code to disable start button, its not
    disabling... its completely visible when i try to show the task bar.
    Code Snippet:
     IntPtr nShellTray = FindWindow("Shell_TrayWnd", "");
                IntPtr nStartButton = FindWindowEx(nShellTray, IntPtr.Zero, "Button", "Start");
                //Windows 7 - No Text "Start" on Button
                if (nStartButton.Equals(IntPtr.Zero))
                    nStartButton = FindWindow("Button", null);
                if (nShellTray != IntPtr.Zero && nStartButton != IntPtr.Zero)
                    ShowWindow(nStartButton, SW_HIDE);
                    ShowWindow(nShellTray, SW_HIDE);
                }

    Hi,
    Based on my knowledge, there is no official way to hide/disable start button. But we can use 3rd party software to remove start button.
    You can refer to
