  • GATP in APO and Free Goods Pricing Records in R/3

We have set up Free Goods in SAP R/3. These free goods are granted based upon a series of access sequences in pricing.
We also have our Order Entry system using GATP on our APO box. In that APO instance, we have set up a large number of product substitutions to occur at order time.
When an item is ordered that is NOT subbed to different item by APO and that item has Free Goods associated with it, the Free Goods are granted by R/3 and placed onto the sales order.
When an item is ordered that IS subbed to different item by APO and that item has Free Goods associated with it, the Free Goods are NOT granted by R/3.
Why are the Free Goods being ignored after the substitution? We have Free Goods records in pricing for BOTH items, and neither one is granting the Free Goods.
Is this a bug, a feature, or an oversight ?
Any help in this area will be GREATLY appreciated!!!

    Hi John,
GATP in APO does not supports Free Goods.

We have a requirement for the Sales forecast for the production and procurement planning. More over its like demand planning but sales needs to have a 6 months or yearly sales forecast in the system.
Is there any option or functionality available for the same.in  SAP-SD

  • SNP planned order availability date difference between APO and ECC

    Hi,
I have observed that SNP Planned order availability date is not matching between APO and ECC. Details are as follows.
I ran SNP Optimizer with bucket offset of 0.5. After publishing the optimizer created planned orders to ECC, only start date is matching.
    Example:
I am using PDS as a source of supply.
Fixed production activity in SNP PDS is 1 day.
    GR processing time: 3 day
After running optimizer planned order is created with dates explained below.
    Start date/time: 09.05.2011 00:00:00
    End date/time: 12.05.2011 23:59:59
    Availability date: 16.05.2011 00:00:00
Because of bucket offset defined as 0.5 optimizer planned order availability is start of next monday.
After publishing this planned order to ECC dates on the planned order is as follows.
    Start date: 09.05.2011
    End date: 09.05.2011
    Availability date: 12.05.2011
I have not maintained any scheduling margin key in ECC. Also if I dont define the GR processing time, planned dates between APO and ECC always match. Can anyone explain the impact of GR time on the availability date.
    Regards,
    Venkat

    Hi Venkadesh,
What's "state stamp"? Do you mean different time zone?
note : 645597  mentioned by Nandha is very helpful:
In standard, CCR will use duedate - "the available date of the output product".
Nandha's words "In SAP APO, if the receipt date of the primary product deviates from the
end date of the last activity of the order, the receipt date
always identifies this as inconsistent. You cannot rectify
inconsistencies of this type by using CCR."
I guess in your PDS or PPM, the output product is not assigned to the End of the last activity. Someone changed it?
Please CIF the PDS or PPM again.
If you really want to apply a note, please use note 815509 as you're using planned order,
and system will use order end  date in CCR instead.
GR time is always considered. BR/Tiemin

  • Problem with call-offs between APO and R/3 system

    Hi, gurus.
    We have following problem:
APO system receives DELINS idocs. They are processed correctly (status 53). But sometimes the call-offs in R/3 system are not updated. I do not know much about the underlaying process but how can I check where the problem is?
I suppose it can be caused by blocking of particular material or order or whatever in R/3 system when the call-off is being processed. But then the system should give some warning. I need to know where it could be found.
The only workaround at the moment we do is to create copies of DELINS in APO system and let them be processed.by APO and consequently by R/3 system.
    Thank you.
    Stano Letko

    Hi Stano,
When ever IDOC fail you can trigger a workflow to the respective person through Partner profile and message type setting .(we20) as Post processing permitted agent .
Get in touch with techincal person who have idea of  IDOC configuration.

  • PeopleSoft - Record to report and procure to pay

    Hi all,
I've been working with Oracle EBS all my carear and know i've been required to change my skill to PeopleSoft so I'm a begginer at PeopleSoft. In one month I will be involved in a PeopleSoft project where "procure to pay" and "record to report" knowledge is required. I've been reviewing PeopleSoft documentation but I didn't find any specific document. I've read that PeopleSoft procure-to-pay is an integrated enterprise solution that links purchasing and payables to maximize return on invested capital. I would like to know if procure to pay is a specific module or is a group of modules. In this month I must study in order to be able to work with "procure to pay".
Apart from that, i have a similar question with PeopleSoft "Record to report". I've found that Record to Report is the management process for providing strategic, financial, and operational feedback to understand how a business is performing. This process involves collecting, transforming and delivering relevant, timely, and accurate information to all stakeholders inside and outside the organization, to provideinsight into how their expectations have been met. I would like to know what modules are involves in "Record to report". I mean, I would like to know what i should study.
Probably these questions may be sound stupid but I have no idea about PeopleSoft. Please, i would like to know where to find documentation about Record to report and procure to pay in order to be able to work with this in aproximately a month.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Rachan:
as said by vishwanath, we cant give you particular info. If you can be specific on the report then we can throw light...
to let you start, you can visit the below link for P2P(procure to pay):
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/index_srmaddon.htm
In P2P, basically you get the data from SRM and R/3. you can get reports like  vendor evalualtions/shopping cart status/ Contracts/PO's etc. It more of a "how much you spend", where are you spending and who are the top vendors. Information like this can be obtained from P2P area (SRM).
    Hope it helps

  • Dangerous APO and BI Transaction codes

    Hi experts,
I have question Dangerous APO and  Transaction codes
    Background :
We are in the process of implementing SOX controls for the new APO and BI Systems
    Questions :
What are the Dangerous APO Transaction codes which should not be assigned to any one in Production system
What are the Dangerous BI Transaction codes which should not be assigned to any one in Production system
    Additional Notes
    System which we are having
    APO
    Version  : SCM 5.0
    BI
    Version : BI 7.0

    Praveen,
I am a puzzled that you would ask such a question.
Authorizations ALWAYS derive from requirements.  In this case, Sarbanes-Oxley speaks of control mechanisms.  Your SOX auditors should tell you what they consider to be critical, and they should advise the client company as to which transactions should be controlled, and how best to control them.
There is no transaction that should be disallowed to everyone.  That would eventually make the system unusable.  The question is, "how many people should have these critical transactions, and how should the execution of these transactions be monitored and controlled".
Generally, the APO portion of SCM should require less SOX controls than ERP, since APO is mostly a planning system, and not an execution system (there are some exceptions here though).  Likewise, the BI portion of SCM usually contains no financial reports, and therefore should have relaxed controls over, say, the main BI instance used by your company.
Don't make the mistake of strangling yourself to satisfy your perception of what you think an auditor may require.  Make them tell you the minimum requirements for compliance.  Anything beyond minimum compliance with SOX is costly.  This question is then a matter of your company's policies.  I usually vote for 'no additional restrictions' (but my poor vote doesn't usually count for much).

  • Data from R/3 to APO and vice versa

    Hi,
Does anyone know what data is usually sent from R/3 to APO and from APO to R/3?
    Thanks

    Hi Disha,
could you please let me know what is PPM and also what data is transferred back to R/3?

  • PPDS production order dates mismatch between APO and R3

    Hi Friends,
We are facing one problem regarding production order date mish match between R3 and APO systems specific to a product.
The product is planned in PPDS and the order automatically transfer to R3 through online CIF.
PPM has got two operations 0010 and 0020 and activity relationships are like this:
    P(0010) - P(0020) Start - Start relation ship
    S(0010) - P(0010) End - Start relationship.
In PPDS dates are shown as :
on operation 0010 the start/end  dates are shown as  08.15.09 to 08.22.09
on operation 0020 the start/end  dates are shown as 08.15.09 to 08.22.09
Overall order start date is  08.15.09
Overall order finish date is 08.22.09
and in R3 dates are shown as:
on operation 0010 the start/end  date are shown as  08.15.09 to 08.22.09
on operation 0020 the start/end dates are shown as 08.22.09 to 08.29.09
Overall order start date is  08.15.09
Overall order finish date is 08.29.09
The order is off one week (APO vs R3) with start and finish dates.
if we change DS Board settings to ignore internal relationships manually then the dates are matching exactly in APO and R3.
We want the production order dates to be matched without manual intervention.
Could some one please provide some hints on what is happening here and how to correct it.
    Thanks.
    Krish

    Hi Friends,
Thanks a lot for your valuable replies in this regard.
Actually this problem is in production environment and it took some time to test the problem with the master data modifications
    you suggested.
As DB and Siddhrath mentioned, the problem was with routing definition. There is no parallel sequence maintained in the routing but there is start-start relation maintained in APO PPM.
We corrected the routing definition and checked the order dates. Now the dates  are matching in R3 and APO.
I am awarding DB and Siddharth each five points in this regard.
Once again thank you all for your time and valuable replies.

    Krish.

  • APO and BW on separate systems

    Hi guys,
we are currently setting up a new landscape our company.
We'll have one APO (newest version, 7.0) with life-cache and one BW (7.0). I am just wondering, why we create two systems and not just one, because APO is based on the BW technology. I had already a look in the notes but didn't find any proposals.
Has someone an opinion or a link for me?
    Thx in advance
    Harald.

    Hi Harald,
you are right, APO has a built-in BW system. basically, it is possible to do reporting (APO related) on the same box. However, there are serval reasons that some customers would prefer to have APO and reporting platform separated:
    1. For performance reason (APO vs BW)
    2. Internal BW system is not recommended for other reporting (R/3, or legacy reporting) also for performance reason, because to load and report additional data means additional overhead for the system.
    3. in the past (prior to SCM 5.0), APO has had only current BW release - 1 ->> with limited reporting capability.
    Hope it helps.

  • APO and BW

    Hi Group
We have BW 2.1 installed at the moment just for reporting purposes. We are in the process of migrating the reporting to another software. In 3 months we will fully complete the migration to the new reporting software. Thus we will not be using BW anymore.
At the same time, we are going to implement APO. I understand APO comes with BW also.
    1) My question is, can we expire the existing BW and not use the BW that comes with APO?
    2) I also hearing that APO needs BW engine? Is this true?
Our intention is to expire the BW completely and use the new reporting software. Also want to use APO for VMI.
    Kindly advice.
    Thanks
    Yuva

    Hi,
You get BW along with SAP SCM-APO system and cannot be separated. The SAP BW system is fully integrated in APO and can be installed on the same server. The version of BW depends on version of SCM. It can be used to store data but cannot be so performance effective for reporting. You may use the external BW system to report but not needed. You can use BW in APO system to use for all purposes such as storing history from other systems, get the data from APO and store etc. If you dont want an independent SAP BW system, you can still workout. You can store the required data in APO-BW and using reporting tools such as cognos and report on them. SAP BW has a technology named OPEN HUB that lets it send the data from cubes to other systems.
    Finally:
    1) My question is, can we expire the existing BW and not use the BW that comes with APO?
A: Yes you can expire your independent BW system but cannot live without APO_BW as BW in APO is not separately. You have to use BW atleast the one that comes with APO.
    2) I also hearing that APO needs BW engine? Is this true?
A: Not completely true. As I said, if you don't want to report using BW, leave the independent BW system and use an external reporting tool to report in BW in APO.
In V5.0, there is more flexibility. You can load data to planning area from flat file directly bypassing BW. But if you want to avoid BW all together, you life could be miserable!
