BW Query on Segment Builder

Hi gurus,
I am working with a bw query in the segment builder. My query has customer and country as a characteristics and some key figures as a results. My problem is that I want to filter in the segment builder by the country and I am not able to do this and I don't know if there is some special way to build the query or if I have to filter as a datasource.
The query schema is:
customer  country  KF1  KF2   KF3.
I haven't problems to filter by the key figures but I am not able to filter by country.
Thanks in advace.

Hi Alec,
I can suggest that you prepare a attribute list that has datasources from BW query (use your required key figures) and also create a infoset based on the business partner master data (this will have the country).
Now you use these two data sources in your attribute list and create filters.
See if this works as iam suggesting as per my understanding of your posting.
thanks

  • Wrong number of members in a TG. Infoset query vs Segment Builder.

    Hi gurus,
I've discovered an issue in our CRM System (BBPCRM 600) and I have no idea of how to solve.
For our marketing segmentation, we've created a Infoset (SQ02) with a link between standard (BUT000, CRMD_ORDERADM_H, CRMD_OPPORT_H) and custom tables. Over this infoset, I've created an infoset query (SQ01).
During our test, we've noticed the following: Using the same filters in segment builder and in infoset query, results are not the same!! Segment builder adds more partners to our TG's and even these partner doesn´t met the filters!
    For Example:
Using POSTING DATE from CRMD_ORDERADM_H as filter: From 01/01/2014 to 01/312014.
Using infoset query, all partners I'm getting are correct, all of them have CRM operations for this date interval.
However, using this same filter in segment builder, the resulting list of partners has one more than query list...and this partner doesn´t have any operation for the chosen internval.
How is this possible? Why results are not the same? Any ideas? Is there any BADI for segment builder that must be checked?
    A lot of thanks!!

  • SQ02 Infoset returns different results in SQ01 Query vs. Segment Builder TG

I want to get Segment Builder to use the same InfoSet and return the same results so, that I can then make a Target Group...but, I'm sure I'm missing some step along the way.
My SQ01 query returns 79 contact persons, but my segment builder only finds 42, none of which appear to actually be the Contact Person, but are in fact the Business Partner the Contact Person has a Relationship to.
I started by copying the CRM_MKTTG_BP_ADDR InfoSet and added the BUT051 table to it, which is when the SQ01 began returning the needed results.
I suspect the problem may be in the Master Group where I am using the B2B/B2C Program, but I don't know if that's the answer or not.  I am not declaring an FM as I am using the BP-GUID in the data source, so I don't 'think' that's the issue...
Here's what I'm currently trying as my Data Source settings in case that will help:
    Origin Type              03 InfoSet
    RFC dest.
    Name of InfoSet          ZCRM_MKTTG_BP_ADDR
    Business Partner         BUT000-PARTNER_GUID
    Function Module
    Sampling InfoSet         ZCRM_MKTTG_BP_ADDR_SMP
    Sample                   BUT000-PARTNER_GUID
    Object
    Partner Function
    Description              Z BP Address
I already read every Segment Builder forum thread and the Sap Library on the subject, but either I missed something or there is a step not listed.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Segment builder with bw query

    Dear Guru´s
We are facing problems with segment builder transaction.
We created a segment with several filters, then select Count.
The system displays a short dump:
    Erro tempo execução CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR
SAP suggested us to : Additionally you may compress the InfoCube content, which will most likely lead to less entries in the fact table of the InfoCube.
Compress&agreegates via manage cube can be initiated in the BW side.
But this task did not solve our problems.
On further tests we detected the following behavior:
The short dump CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR,occurs when a TIME_OUT short dump occurs on BWP server.
At BWP the parameter rdisp/max_wprun_time "Maximum work process run time" is set to 600, so, when the query runtimes takes more than 600 seconds, a
TIME_OUT is raised and on CRP/400 the short dump CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR is also raised as consequence.
We did some tests, setting the rdisp/max_wprun_time parameter to 0,
which will make the TIME_OUT short dump not occur. The consequence is, the query runs for undetermined time, and any result is returned from BW server.
If we create a segmentation with only one filter, the count returns.
Does anybody have the same experience?
    Thanks in advance,
    Cristina Barbosa

    Cristina,
We encounter the same problems as you have / had. SAP did several suggestions on the query definition, but this all did not solve the issue. We still get time-outs because SQL statements take so long. We have upgraded our systems to CRM 5.0 and BW 7.0.
Did you solve this problem already?
    Kind regards,

  • Creation of a Marketing Profile Set based on the standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset thru the WebUI Segment Builder

Objective: Creation of a Marketing Profile Set based on the standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset thru the WebUI Segment Builder.
Problems: Standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset DOES NEVER RETURN ANY RESULTS on the segmentation builder of the WebUI client (no matter the filter you specify).
Other cases:  However if we create a new Data source with data "Extraction from Query" (transaction RS02) based on this standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset and we test the functionality using transaction RSA3, IT DOES RETURN RESULTS (using the same filters as in the segmentation builder)! Of course the segmentation builder works with other attribute lists.
NEW: IF WE DON’T ESPECIFY ANY SEGMENTATION BASE IN THE PROFILE GROUP, IT DOES RETURN RESULTS!!! (GO TO THE END OF THE DOCUMENT FOR DETAILS)
    Steps followed:

Creation of a Data source based on the standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset (Transaction CRMD_MKTDS).
Creation of an Attribute List based on that standard Data source and selection the Birth date as a filter in the Attribute list (Transaction CRMD_MKTDS).

But we need to create this Profile Set based on a particular Segmentation Basis called BS Usuarios Registrados. Why is not posible to select Category 02 Segmentation Basis in the creation of the Attribute List???

It seems that the standard Infoset doesn’t work by itself with Segmentation Basis. Two SAP notes have been applied and a new Field Group has been added to the Infoset (in order to distint the Segmentation Base).

  • Enhance output of Target Group opened in segment builder

    Hello Experts,
We are implementing SAP CRM Lean Marketing using CRM 7.0. Our business requirement is to do segmentation based on Company attributes and Relationship Category. The output of the target group should enlist the persons related to the Company based on the relationship category selected while doing the segmentation.
Using standard InfoSet CORM_MKTTG_BP_ORG_CDE and while creating data source selecting BUT000_PER-PARTNER_GUID in the field business partner, we are able to get the list of persons matching the segmentation query (based on the relationship category e.g. Has Supplier, Has Contact Person, etc) . But the issue is , the output of the target group (shown as an ALV grid , when the target group is opened in segment builder) only enlists matching Persons, it does not enlist the related company ID /name in front of the Person ID in the output of the target group. And this Company BP ID is not available if I try to modify the output layout. So business is unable to understand the Person enlisted in TG belongs to which Company. Can we enhance this ALV grid output of the target group displayed in segment builder ? if yes , how can it be achieved ? If this is possible and we are able to add related company BP ID/ name in front of every person enlisted in the target group then our issue gets resolved. Or is there any alternative solution to resolve this issue ?
Highly appreciate your early response in order to resolve this critical issue.

    Naresh,
    Thanks for the response.
As per your suggestion I made additions to my z Infoset , and added all the fields you suggested.
While creating the data source I selected following fields
Business Partner: BUT000_PER-PARTNER_GUID (as my requirement is to return Persons and this field works with only GUID)
    Reference Object: BUT051-RELNR
    Reference Object Type:  BUT051-RELTYP
Now when I create the target group with this data source unfortunately I am still not getting the the relationship number when I click in Show assigned Objects in the target group screen of web UI.
Please suggest where I am going wrong

    Hello Experts,
We tried implementing BADI CRM_MKTTG_SEG_MEM_EX in order to add Company ID/ Name , but the issue is the BADI gets Input as persons BP id, nothing else, due to this if a person is having relationships with multiple companies, the BADI is unable to identify which company to choose as Relationship Category is not available to the BADI. And further issue is if a Person is having same relationship category with 2 companies e.g. Supplier for company A and for Company B too , in this case too the BADI is unable identify correct Company to return to the target group output
Is there someting in the Infoset that can resolve our issue ? How can I make available the fields in the infoset to the ALV output of the target group. Using SQ02 I am able to add fields to the field groups for selection in segmentation, but can anyone guide, how to make the field available in the output list ?
    Please provide your technical assistance

  • Infosets in segment builder

    Hey forum guys/ girls,
I have learnt that we can have three sources for segments in Marketing. Marketing attributes, infoset query and bw infoset.
Would like to know more about the second one. any links in help.sap. com etc are welcome.
    thanks.
    Jon

    Jon,
Standard InfoSets queries are used in segmentation. Using this you can set any standard field of the BP as a filter criteria (just as you use marketing attributes). SAP provides a a way to use std data (stored in BP transaction) in segmentation via infoset query.
These InfoSets can be accessed by choosing the input help for the field InfoSet Query in the transaction for maintaining data sources.
To access this transaction, from the SAP Easy Access Menu, choose Marketing > Segmentation of Business Partners > Marketing Segments > Maintain Data Sources for Segment Builder.
To define these InfoSets (for example, to view which table joins are used as data sources), use the SAP menu and choose Architecture and Technology > ABAP Workbench > Utilities > SAP Query > InfoSets.
Double-click on the relevant InfoSet from the list and on the following screen choose for example Join Definition.
For information on creating you own InfoSets, see the SAP Library under mySAP Technology Components > SAP Web Application Server > ABAP Workbench > SAP Query.
Some of the std infoset available are:
    CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE           Birthday
    CRM_MKTTG_BP_ADDR          Business Partner Address
CRM_MKTTG_BP_CENTRAL          Business Partner Master: Central Data
CRM_MKTTG_BP_GRP           Business Partner Master: Relationships (Groups)
CRM_MKTTG_BP_PER           Business Partner Master: Relationships (Persons)
CRM_MKTTG_BP_BNK          Business Partner Master: Bank Data
CRM_MKTTG_BP_BNK_CARD          Business Partner Master: Payment Card Data
    CRM_MKTTG_BP_GEN           Business Partner Personal Data
CRM_MKTTG_BP_ORG           Business Partner: Contact Person Relations of Organizations
    CRM_MKTTG_BP_PRTFUNC           Business Partner: Partner Function

  • Segment Builder

    Hi All,
Can any one guide me the usage of below in the Segment Builder (CRM 5.0)
    "AND Within an Attribute",
    "OR Within an Attribute",
    "AND Across all Attributes" and
    "OR Across all Attributes" .
Thanks for your assistance in advance.
    Regards,
    Krish

    Hi Krish,
You can use the and/or functionality when selecting multiple attributes at once in the segment builder.  use the control key to select multiple filters at once.
    Here's the details.
<b>And Within and Attribute</b>:it will check to see if an filter is being met along with another filter across the single attribute for which you have selected the filters. (intersection)
Example: attribute is "Products owned".  Filters selected and dragged to the staging area of the segment builder are Product1  and product2.  So the result would be all business partners who have product1 and product2 in the query behind the attribute.
<b>Or within an Attribute</b>: Looks at all the business partners who meet either filter criteria within the filters selected.
So in our example above using OR within and attribute we'd get back every business partner who has product1 or product 2.  this was a lot more work in previous versions.
<b>And/OR Across all attributes </b>allows you the option to mix things up across attributes in your attribute list in the segment builder.
    So an example
And Across all attributes is set
Or within an attribute is set
If we had two attributes being used. Product being one and Industry being the other.
for product we select product1, product2 for industry we select mining.
we would get back the business parters who have (product1 or product2) and mining.
The "AND" functionality was present in previous versions by using the "Keep" option. the OR was a little bit trickier to do so this new option is a great feature. Using the AND or OR functions will change how the query on the back end is executed.  So in many cases you'll see a major performance increase because the query is being built at the data source level with all your criteria at once instead of running, bringing back the BPs and intersecting with another query that brought back BPs.
Be careful the and(keep) and the and(across/within attribute) will bring back different results in cases when your data source isn't always using the business partner as the root.  So in cases like infoset of  business transactions/ custom tables be careful.
I would also recommend implementing all available OSS notes for the segment builder as there are some current fixes available.
let me know if you have any more questions,
    Nima

  • Segment builder logic

    Hello all,
I need some information of segment builder and hope you can assist me:
if I combine different attributes with AND / OR does the segment builder set brackets?
So if I choose attribute A or C and drag it to the profile and afterwards I combine it with D and E, does it work like (A or C) and (D and E) or like (A or C and D and E)?
    Thanks for your help!
    Regards Anne

    Hi Anne,
To make the understanding more clear, let us take an example,
We have an attribute called Activity Channel which has two values FAX(A) and PHONE(C)
We have another attribute called Activity Priority which again has two values HIGH(D) and LOW(E)
    - First you decide to combine attribute values of an attribute with OR:
Attribute Activity Channel: Select FAX(A) OR PHONE(C) => You select all Business Partners who like to use the Activity Channel FAX(A) or PHONE(C)
    - Next you decide to combine attribute values of an attribute with AND
Attribute Activity Priority: Select HIGH(D) AND LOW(E) => You select all Business Partners with Activity Prioirty HIGH(D) and LOW(E)
    - Next you do AND select across all attribute (Multiple Attributes)
You can now decide to combine attribute values from different attributes with AND. You would like to select all BP who uses the Activity channel (FAX(A) or PHONE(C)) AND Activity priority (HIGH(D) and LOW(E))=> You select all business partners who Activity channel by FAX(A) or PHONE(C) AND Activity Priority HIGH(D) and LOW(E).
so finally, the answer for your question is it works like this,
    (FAX(A) OR PHONE(C)) AND (HIGH(D) AND LOW(E))
so it is (A OR C) AND (D AND E)
I hope this answers your query and makes it more clear.

  • Add subquery to main query in Report Builder 6i

Usually, when you add a subquery to an existing query in a report, you'll see the query in data model marked by a paper clip icon with a forward slash across it (means "Subquery Inside"). All current field names in current query (except CF and CS) will have a '1' appended after it (CF and CS fields are not affected), but in your sql, the column names stay the same. So there is an out-of-sync situation with the column names.
    To fix this:
    1) before change anything, back up old report somewhere else
    2) copy the original query somewhere else as backup
    3) open the query in Report Builder
    4) wipe out the query, replace it by "select 1 from dual" to reset it and press ok.
    5) replace "select 1 from dual" with your new query with an embedded subquery.
    6) All field names will be without the '1' appendix.
    7) check all the CS fields, the source should be reset to null. Redefine the CS fields using backed up report as reference. CF fields are not affected.
    8) move the fields and restore the break orders according to backed up report.
    9) Recompile whole report.
    10) save report again and you're done.
Maybe you don't need this in the latest version of Report Builder, but in 6i, this is what I do.

If you use aliases for your item names in your original query you avoid this problem....
    eg
    Select field1 item1, field2 item2 from table.....
item 1 and item2 will stay in your layout between query changes.

    Hi Karthik,
I am not sure if there is a standard infoset which has the value of Industry and responsible salesrep.
But to achieve your requriement i would advice you to create a custom Infoset using the table  CRMM_BUT_FRG0041 as it contains the information on industry sector and you will have to join this table with another table which contains the info on salesrep to create a custom infoset.
You can create custom infosets by joining multiple tables using tcode SQ02

  • Problem in Segment Builder

    Hello all,
I´m using a BW cube as a Datasource for segment builder. Everything goes well but when we try to create attribute list we only see the technical name of fields and we should see the description.

    hey kedar
what i suggested as alternative is actually the standard way to achieve the segmentation
and the another method which u havent tried was sort of alternative which u use when u have BW running with CRM
i would advise u to be clear with the concept of how to use BW queries for segmentation cause .tell me if u r aware of this then we can proceed.
in any case you are most welcome for any details u may want to know
    best regards
    ashish
    Hi Ashish,
Thanks a lot for the answers.
As of now in our system, we would be using only the standard way.
Currently, we would not go ahead with the concept of using BW queries for segmentation.
I will come back to you for support when we decide to change our approach.
    Thanks and Best Regards,

The solution for the problem is as follows,
When you upgrade to JRE 1.6 version 19 patch 4, in the graphical modeler, the filter drag and drop doesnot work. In this case,    add the following line in you JAVA POLICY file.
        permission java.awt.AWTPermission "accessClipboard","read,write";
you can find the POLICY file in the path:
           C:\Program Files\Java\<JAVA VERSION>\lib\security
Please note that I found this in note 1359890
