C++ Exception and restart upon importing .mp4 videos

I've exported an .mp4 video from After Effects into Edge Animate. But upon import I get a C++ exception error and a request to restart. The .mp4 video does not import. What's the issue? At this point, I cannot import videos into edge Animate

Can you please share that video for us to reproduce this issue at our end?

  • Can I maintain wider aspect ratios when I import mp4 video to a slide?

When I import mp4 video to a slide the aspect ratio changes.  It seems to go from 16:9 to 4:3. Everything looks squished.

MP4 video always seems to have some quirk when using it with Presenter/Connect. Try converting the video to FLV and then importing it to Presenter.

iphone 6/6P do not support AC 1.0 HD video calling at this time.  It does support HD voice, but there is no HD indicator, but you can immediately hear the difference.

I use a mac ios and shoot raw in a cannon 5d mark ii and shortly upon import of my images lightroom darkens and changes my images. This has happened before but not every time. The strange part is my last shoot had the same camera setting but this did not happen. The images i have now i can not use after lightroom has automatically altered them even if i try editing back to how they looked upon import

First thing to do is to change the default camera profile applied in Lightroom to camera standard (assuming that you shoot Canon or Nikon). Also make sure that your camera is NOT set up to use any of the HDR modes. Nikon calls those Active Dynamic Lighting. On Canons you often see things like highlight priority mode or "Auto Lighting Optimizer". Make sure that the picture style is set to standard and that for newer Canons the HDR mode is turned off. Most of the HDR modes simply underexpose the image and then add an instruction in the raw file to compensate for this to prevent highlights from being blown out. This causes more noise in the shadows and if you know what you are doing there is no point to this as you should simply expose correctly and get the highest quality raw.
Lastly, make sure that in Lightroom you have not checked "Apply Auto Tone Adjustments" in Preferences->Presets. This should make the default rendering of the raw files the same as the in-camera jpeg (what the camera shows on the back even if you shoot raw) but still give you all the latitude of raw files.

  • How can I properly import .mp4 videos? (LR4 won't import some of them)

    Here's the issue:
I have originals .mp4s that were made either with my GoPro (1st gen) or with a video camera (I forget which kind) and these seem to import just fine But the .mp4s I really want to import are the edited versions that were edited in Corel Photostudio in the 1080p or 720p .mp4 also windows says they are .mp4 the file extensions says its .mp4 also but when I go to properties the edited videos look as if they are audio files but they play just fine in windows media player (and I can see the video content) as for the originals unedited; same thing I can see/play them just fine.
I don't understand why LR4 can't import it? I have tried doing a conversion; but the conversion won't keep it in the same resolution, it tends to want to upscale making the video bigger and more grainy converted/upscaled versions ARE importable too.
Is there a specific .mp4 format/codec LR4 will only accept? If so what is it?

well I was talking about two different things here; but mainly LR4 won't import something that is supposed to be .MP4 yet its playable by windows media player but when going to properties on said file it looks as if its only an audio file.  This file was edited from a series of .mp4 videos I had compiled together in Corel VideoStudio X4 which won't import into LR4.
I was also talking about converting the existing .mp4s that I had already made in Corel videostudio X4; I thought I had left them in their native format of 720p but the only option is to do 1080p which means that I'd have to upscale thus creating the larger frames and grainy ones too.
All I want to do is to have native import capabilities so I can see them in LR4 so that I can publish to my photo gallery on my Synology NAS and likewise LR4 DOES have support for .mp4 importation but its not doing it so I'd like to know what I need to find out about the file and what to do with it to convince LR4 to import it

  • How do I import mp4 video files into Premiere Pro Cs4

For sometime now, I've been finding it practically impossible to import video files into premiere Pro cs4 especially mp4 files which happens to be the commonest to me now, as I currently shoot with a Nokia Lumia 920 phone with Windows phone 8 OS. I have tried severally to convert the videos into various other formats using Xilisoft video converter version 7.7.2 and each time I do this, they would either not play fine in cs4 or not import at all.
Please what can I do to be able to import these mp4 files into Cs4 or what format or how do I convert them into a format that would play seamlessly for better editing?
Funny enough, I had once imported video files that were shot with the same phone and they worked well, just wondering why they aren't now.
Please any assistance would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    NKC

I'm happy to announce to you all that my "mp4 importing" issues has been sorted out. Now I import mp4 shot with the same Windows Phone 8 Device into Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. Only that for the moment, it doesn't play as fast as with ordinary player.
    But how did I get it to work, you may wonder;
I simply installed Itunes on the system, I also installed an app called media monkey. I can't say which of the apps did the magic but the next time I tried to import mp4 files into Premiere Pro after these installations, it imported seamlessly.
Obviously there's a link between the required codecs and the itunes itself.
You may want to try it and hope it works for you.
Kindly inform us if it works.
    Thank you all.
    Cheers.

  • FIXED: How Can I Import .MP4 Video? Used to work...

EDIT: Okay, figured it out!  Had to run Adobe updater, now I can import .mp4s from YouTube!  wooot.
Hi, I was working on some mashups using videos I downloaded from YouTube (.mp4 format) in premiere and everything was going good, but had to reinstall my operating system for other reasons.  I re-installed Premiere Pro CS4 too but when I opened up the project I was previously working on, it said I could not re-link to the .mp4 files.  It said they were not supported and were different than the ones in the project - they are not.
I noticed that I could no longer properly import .MP4s downloaded from YouTube, only the audio track is imported.
I have had success converting the .mp4s to .movs using QuickTime pro, those .movs work, but if possible I'd like to do away with this step.
    Any help is appreciated.
I remember back in the day using Premiere 5.0 in 2003 I could import any format I wanted to do mashups, ahh those were the good old days
Thanks in advanced for any help

    >had to reinstall my operating system
The program I use to make a full system backup image is mentioned here http://www.pacifier.com/~jtsmith/ADOBE.HTM#SmartOwn
Make an image while everything is "perfect" and simply restore that image if needed

  • GoPro and 5D clips importing without video

I have several GoPro .mp4s and a few 5D .movs, and I cannot get them to import into Premiere CS6 Mac 6.0.2 with the video included in the clip. Only the audio imports in whether I cmd+I, drag and drop or use Media Browser.
The clips play fine in VLC and Quicktime, and FCP7 can import them just fine, so this is a real head scratcher for me. I'm used to .MTS and .MXF issues, but not my reliable 5D stuff!
I've never seen this kind of error before and I'd like to avoid transcoding. I have started fresh projects and tried importing and the same issue occurs. Is this an issue with my preferences, a bug in my install or something else?
    Thanks

    hi tati,
    welcome to the  board
you probably try to import mpegs (iMovie is meant for import from miniDV camcorders....)
mpegs need conversion, get for free Streamclip and convert your "clips" into something usefull - WITH audio...
    hope, that helps.........

  • Import mp4 video?

Captivate is designed to work with flv and f4v video, but the HTML5 export will fire up Media Encoder to convert these videos to mp4 during publishing. If you're intending on only using HTML5 publishing settings is there a way to have Captivate just import the mp4 video? I already have videos saved as mp4 and it seems silly to have to convert it to flv when bringing it into Captivate to have it re-encode it to mp4 when publishing.

That's what I'm saying.  Adobe's apps are expecting a very special flavour of MP4 encoding.  So where ever you got your MP4 from in the first place doesn't seem to be supplying the right video encoding.  If you know you're going to need to work with Adobe applications, it's usually wiser to keep all the eggs in the same basket and let Adobe do the video encoding as well.
Where did you get your MP4 videos?

  • Importing MP4 videos with odd results

Hello, so I just got a new notebook, installed all my new software and started transfering data. I managed to get my music library back to exactly what it was, ratings, play counts, everything. I thought ok awesome, I imported my videos no problem too. Then I moved on to tv shows. On my previous notebook I had the entire x-men animated series on it, and it is still on my ipod and external hdd. so I transfered the collection my videos folder on my computer, but when I attempt to import them, it will only import maybe 1/5 of my collection. When I add the folder, I can see the titles of all the episodes on the status bar, but then it doesn't add them. Clicking on the file in windows only opens iTunes and nothing else. If I try to add the individual file, nothing happens. They are all the same file type and this was never a problem before. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but to no avail. Any help would of course be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, even trying to add the file individually doesn't work. It only works for the same 1/5 of the files that would originally import when adding the folder. I appreciate the try though, anyone else?

  • IMovie deletes my projects and event when importing another video!!!

I was working on an iMovie project and was just importing a file and it did not import, but then iMovie deleted all my projects and events. I then found the projects and events saved in Finder but they will not open. When I clicked on them it opened iMoviebut will not open the projects. How do I fix this and get my projects and events back on iMovie?

I would try trashing your Preferences files. For full instructions, see this link.

  • Imovie - how to import MP4 video clip for editing ? Wont drag and Drop ; using OSX on macbook

the Video just flies back onto desktop.

It should only have to do the full search the first time. From then on it should be quick.
Since yours is not, I would suspect that iMovie is not able to write the results of the search, so the next time it has to start from scratch. This could be a permissions issue.
Go to Disk Utility and try to repair permissions on your main hard disk.
You might also try trashing preferences. (Details here - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4061 )

  • Importing MP4 video PROBLEM

The probvlem is I can't the itunes says there is an error and must shut down and do I want to send a report....
why can't I import a short video to my ipod video?

File formats in video are deceptive. Not all mp4 are the same, neither are all movs or avis etc. Really they're containers for a wide variety of Codecs. So, it;s quite possible that the two different devices produce their mp4s with different Codecs.
    Try install Perian
