C220 M3 System Status LED is Amber

Hello All,
I have a C220 M3 server that is running one of our CUCM subscribers and Unity Connection subscriber. I noticed today that it has an Amber light on the chassis. I have looked in VCenter, the ESX host screen, and even the Call Manager application for error statuses, but no errors are mentioned. For some reason, I cannot access the CIMC on that server and the IP address I have for the CIMC is not responding to Pings. Is there any other place I can look to discover what is causing this error light to be on?
Thanks.

  • SUN Fire V65 - System Status LED - non-critical condition

    Hi guys
We have a Checkpoint Cluster which is made up of 2 Sun Fire V65 servers.
The front panel of the servers are showing the System Status LED lights as Blinking Amber , which sun documenation has listed as
"Blinking amber: Indicates the system is in a non-critical condition" ref: http://dlc.sun.com/pdf/817-2024-12/817-2024-12.pdf
We have resetead the hardware, cleared ,logs, even change HW etc. The light goes away for some time and then returns.
Can anyone advise on what to do?
Sun has the following listed in their Troubleshooting pdf i ref before
    "Non-Critical Condition
A non-critical condition is indicated with a blinking amber status LED and signifies
that at least one of the following conditions is present:
¡ Temperature, voltage, or fan non-critical threshold crossing.
    ¡ Chassis intrusion.
¡ Satellite controller sends a non-critical state, via the Set Fault Indication
    command, to the BMC.
¡ A Set Fault Indication command from the system BIOS. The BIOS may use the Set
Fault Indication command to indicate additional, non-critical status such as
system memory or CPU configuration changes"
Is there any Unix / Linux / SPLAT logs I can look at or debugging we can look at.
    Thanks in advance

Your initial description mentions that you have swapped various pieces of hardware around. I presume that means you used current parts instead of new-never-used components. Are both of the clustered systems showing the same symptoms?
I can only think of a couple of additional things to try.
Firstly, those are old boxes. V65's went EOL in January 2005, so yours are at least that old if not older. They are x86 architecture. Have you replaced the CR2032 CMOS battery that's on the systemboard? Have you additionally checked for voltage fluctuations in the data center? A marginal power supply can "mostly work" but it can be effected by an AC mains issue.
If that doesn't change anything, then you may need to contact Checkpoint. They may be able to point you toward some sort of heartbeat function that is tripping a fault level when it flip-flops between the two systems.
That's a software investigation and would be outside the scope of this forum.

  • D400 - system status LED blinking, network LED blinking

Hi - Just recently started experiencing this problem with my D400.
The system status LED is blinking, which according to the user guide means that WHS is either booting or shutting down.  The Network LED shows activity.
Problem is that I can't get on the D400 via remote desktop.
Frustrating.  Talked with support already, said only option is to send in to depot or find a local resource to troubleshoot or fix.  Problem is that we have our music/photos on this thing.
Support also said that if we factory reset data on all drives will be erased.
Looking for help wherever I can get it.  Thanks!
    Scott

Hi scottdcm, and welcome to the Lenovo User Community!
To get your music/photos off the system before returning it for service, connect the hard drive(s) to another computer with a SATA connection. An external USB/SATA connector or drive enclosure will also do the job.
You can also remove any drives you have added before shipping it for service.
    Hope this helps!

  • CFP 2110 - Status led flashing continously

I'm running into problem with a cFP 2110.
During the debugging of my RT application on the cFP, I get an error message "Host IP address not in the access list". At this time, I was unable to download any application to the cFP. the VI server IP access list was configured with *. So all the IP address can access to the cFP.
I found a procedure on the ni web site to reset the system.
    -Set to safe mode
-ftp the cFP and delete all the file
    -Remove the safe mode.
It means that there is no more OS or LabVIEW RT on the system.
Now, When I restart the cFP, the Status led is flashing continously (1 flash / 1.5s) and I don't have access anymore to the cFP in MAX.. Can some one help me on this case ? .
    Thanks

    Hi Poussin,
I would recommend flipping the Reset IP dip switch (dip switch 7).  This
should get the controller to show up in Measurement and Automation
Explorer(MAX) as 0.0.0.0.  If you can't see the controller, you may want
to try turning off your firewall.  Often computer firewalls will prevent
customers from seeing unconfigured controllers in MAX.
Once you find your controller, you can flip the reset IP dip switch back to the
off position and reset the IP address.  For more information on this,
click on your FieldPoint controller in MAX that will be displayed as
0.0.0.0.  In the MAX help that appears on the right, click on the link
titled, "Configure Network Settings."  If you need assistance
choosing an IP address, please look at this KnowledgeBase.
Once you have assigned an IP address to the controller, the status light should
stop blinking once.   You will then need to install software.
    Here is a general
document that describes how to assign an IP address and install software.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

  • CFP status led - stays lit solid red!

    Hi,
I have a problem with a cFP-2120 RT controller where the red LED status light stays lit.  On the instruction manual it says that the unit was not powered up correctly and to contact NI.  The controller used to work fine until we had a short on the mains side of the power supply The AI, AO and thermocouple modules did not power up but the DI and DO modules seemed to be getting power.  Is there anything we can do or just send it back for repairs.  When I replaced the controller with another one, the system worked fine and the status LED turned off after a few seconds.

Sounds like you've proven that the controller is bad.  Next step is an RMA from NI.  Make sure NI tells you what failed in the controller and see if they will comment on what might have caused it.   The idea being to see if you can do anything to prevent this failure in the future.

  • Satellite L50-A-10Q: Win8.1 Pro Wi-Fi status LED is not working

    Hello,
I have an Toshiba L50-10-A-10Q Notebook running BIOS Version 1.30 and EC Version 1.10.
I recently updated from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 Pro.
I followed the update instructions found on the Driver Download page.
All function keys and modules (Wifi, Bluetooth, etc.) work fine.
However, the status LEDs do not work properly.
The status LED for Wifi is always off, even when Wifi is activated and connected.
The status LED for the Touch Pad is also always off, even when it is deactivated.
Power LED and charge indicator work fine.
All status LED were working properly before the update to WIN 8.1.
Is there a solution for this problem?
    Kind Regards
    Niko

Why you dont try to update or reinstall the Intel WLan driver and Toshiba System Driver again?
Since this procedure helped to solve the touchpad issue and I guess this would solve problem with the WLan indicator too.

  • FP2015 status led stay lit

While turning on the system the status led stay on. Doing this few time, now the Status led doesn’t stay on but it seems that the controller doesn’t make the booting procedure (the Leds doesn’t turn on and off at the begging)

This issue can generally be solved by formatting the internal Compact FLASH memory on the controller. There is a < a href="http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/6D0F9F74FD2DAD0186256EE5007198D4?OpenDocument">Knowledge Base that describes in detail how to format the controller. Sometimes you will first have to switch both the Safe Mode (switch 7) and Reset IP (switch 8) dip switches and cycle the power to first get the controller into a safe state.
The Compact FLASH corruption is generally due to losing power while writing to a sector on disk. This can cause that sector as well as other adjacent sectors to become corrupt.

  • Some 2950 switch ports led turn amber even without cable connection

Hello. Due to a likely NIC problem, after connecting my laptop to a port on the 2950 switch, the led turns amber even after disconnecting the cable.
2 ports on the switch are having this problems. Ideally the led should be off when nothing is connected.
Please, how can I correct this problem without restarting the switch because its in a production environment.
    Eddy

    Hello,
which two switchports are amber? Try toggling the port LED modes by pressing the mode button.
    Have a look at
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps628/products_installation_guide_chapter09186a008007e889.html#xtocid41699
for the different port modes meanings and their respective usage of port LEDs.
It would also be helpful to see the port status from the switch CLI in case the procedure above didn´t solve the problem.
    Hope this helps

  • STP blocking but status led green

    hallo
I have some cat2950 with ios 12.1.22EA7 connected toghether with 3 VLAN and STP (PVST) configured.
On redundant links the STP shows correctly the blocking state of the interfaces but the STATUS LEDs are GREEN not amber.
The configs and the tree seems ok, the only strange thing is green leds !!
Could it be an ios bug or a config problem ?
    francesco

I'm not sure this is normal as the earlier poster asserted. See http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/hw/switches/ps605/products_installation_guide_chapter09186a00800d9cfe.html#39834 for details on what the status LEDs mean. The relevant text is in Table 1-6:
    /quote
    Solid amber:
Port is not forwarding. Port was disabled by management or an address violation or was blocked by Spanning Tree Protocol (STP).
Note After a port is reconfigured, the port LED can remain amber for up to 30 seconds as STP checks the switch for possible loops.
    /end quote
An STP blocking port is still active and functional, just not passing trafic. It needs to have Ethernet link to communicate in the spanning tree process in the event that it needs to change state. BUT, as the manual says, if it is STP blocking, it should be amber
