C3-01 Touch screen malfunction

I bought c3-01 in march 2011.... I got impressed with its stylish and compact design, touch function also very better compared to many other models of nokia which is very sensitive and cool touch eventhough its resistive type...
But after one month of usage, the touch gets malfunction. When i touch a place on the screen, it selected the other region, even the touch calibration didnt help... After being repaired with help of nokia care, again only made use of it for 45days and now im facing the same problem
Cant recognise whether its a software issue/hardware... What is the cause, can you let me know??
Eventhough i liked the design and feature, frequent repair or approacing care points is not helping nokia to sustain its trademark as it is new model
What is going on nokia, the most trusted band fails to prove its ability!!!
Im really worrying now for purchaed it,

I bought Nokia C3-01 Mobile in march 2011... My IMEI Number is 356268045534750... I have applied 2 times for repair for the same touch problem, now this is third time in 6th month(SEP 2011) i face the same touch problem....
For both the initial two service requests, i visited the same nokia care centre (Chola technologies-Saligramam-Chennai), they have shipped my mobile to DELHI and i received after 10days everytime...
This time when i again requested for repair at the same center, they have told me that my mobile is in liquid lock (I cant recognize the liquid lock identity, they showed slight form of dust on keypad inside), and hence they cant take warranty for this service and in-turn they asked me to pay Rs.1800 for servicing this touch problem...
My question is: I cover one year warranty, at the sixth month i am facing third time this touch issue, even if i service the touch problem by paying exactly 25% of the mobile cost, how will u assure that the problem wont repeat
Why nokia care centre is not providing greatful service as they intended to discard the warranty to provide pay service
I spent my time to reach another care centre @Ashok nagar chennai.. They told that they cant service it since they dont have stock material, im really confused of clearing this issue
Initially they told that they will again send to DELHI for service, but i refused to again wait for 10days, is it my fault to ask for local repair... they are not ready to provide warranty service, by showing cheap reasons they don't understand my problem as it is the third time fault on the same touch issue with the mobile, how can i commit to their service...

  • Iphone touch screen malfunction

I have taken my iphone to an apple store 2 times for the same problem, the touch screen only wants to work half the time. Sometimes only certain portions of the screen will work it is like there are dead spots. Alll they do is reboot/restore my iphone at the store and say "There it works better now". well a little better for about an hour or two. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem. The bottom strip of my screen stopped working. According to Apple technical support and these user forums, there doesn’t seem to be an end user solution for this. I called technical support, they promptly sent me a prepaid box to ship my unit back and a new one arrived within two days. I synchronized and was back up and running in a few minutes.
Here's a very helpful "secret" that nobody else seemed to know about (even the Apple technician)... When you synchronize the iPhone, all information on the phone gets placed on your hard drive in a recovery file. So, when you receive your unit (or an alternate replacement unit) from the repair center, the first synchronization should restore the phone to the exact state it was in at the time of the synchronization. This includes settings and even little details like how far down in your notes had you scrolled. So, the replacement phone that I received became identical to how mine was. Had I known this, I probably wouldn't have struggled to manually type my notes from the iPhone screen onto another computer prior to shipping it off for repair.
Your experience may be different than mine, but I hope the above works for everyone out there as it did for me.
Something else I did was after synchronizing my phone, I then performed a Reset of the phone using iTunes which erased everything on the phone and returned it to the original factory settings. I did this just to avoid sending off a phone with confidential information on it. This didn't seem to interfere with the backup image of my phone already on my desktop computer.
I hope this helps. For my complete iPhone review, do a Google search on iphone review resourcesforlife and click on the top link.

  • Touch screen malfunctions

I have a Palm Tungsten E2 and the touch screen pen doesn't respond where I actually place the pen point. I've tried the sync program that is on the device but it doesn't work after doing that.
    does anyone have suggestions?
    Thank you
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

If you can get a response from the screen when you tap it, try and re-calibrate the touchscreen. Go to prefs on your device and use the touchscreen app to re-calibrate.
You can try this process to see if there is any debris that is stuck under the screen edge.
Take a business card or folded piece of paper. Stick it in the gap between the edge of the screen and the case. Move around the perimeter of the screen and see if you can get out any debris.
If that doesn't work, the digitizer on the device is probably defective and needs replaced.
You can contact Palm for repair or find replacement parts at pdaparts.com or usedpdaparts.com

  • Touch screen malfunction

I have the original iPhone. Ever since I upgraded to the new software, my phone starting acting weird. Shutting off at random times, freezing up, ect... Now my touch screen has stopped working at all. It was working fine then all of a sudden in the middle of a text, it stopped working. I sent it in for repair but they denied it even though it still well under warranty. They say it was caused by accidental damage. Is there anything else I can do?

The nearest Apple store to me is 4 hours away. I just got off the phone with someone else at the iPhone help, and she tried to help but the repairman said they wouldn't do it because the phone is scratched. It had been scratched for months before it stopped working.

  • IPhone 5 touch screen malfunction

I dropped my iPhone 5 nd the screen did not crack but these white, vertical bars appeared on the right side of the screen.  Now, that side is unresponsive when I touch it.  This is a problem because my password contains a 3 in it and I cannot access anything on that side.  Please help.  Is there an easy way to fix this without going to the Apple store or paying a lot?  Is there any way to fix this at all?

No. If it is physically damaged it needs to be repaired.

  • Brand New Carbon X1 loses Touch Screen function!!!!

    Hi there
I just purchased Carbon X1 touch screen version for less than a week and all of a sudden I found out the touch screen was not working any more.
I checked the system property and it shows "No pen or touch input is available for this display". That's totally wierd because when the time I received this product it worked very well.
I also checked the device manager. It shows "
Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer.
I tried almost every method mentioned about touch screen malfunction and none of them worked. I even refresh this laptop and this issue still exists.
Could some one here help me figure out this problem? I don't want send my laptop back to lenovo because I just purchased for less than one week and I'm really need it now.

Can someone tell me if this is not under warranty?

  • N97 mini Hang-up, sudden reboots, touch screen non...

Malfunctioning started 5-6 months after purchase.
At first few times no any possibility to answer a call - sliding on screen when keys locked or touching answer screen button, or green button after display/key unlock did not worked.
Only possibility to talk with caller - call back immediately (it works) an excuse for that problem.
Lately phone started to reboot after ending calls or after (or while) using as internet connection modem. Or sometimes rebooted by itself just standing by on table...
Sometimes keyboard does not work, working only screen.
Then become next problem - or touch-screen does not respond or respond awkward or totally different as should.
Then touch-screen malfunction together with keyboard not functioning.
After a month spent at sellers repair first 3 days - everything worked as should. I started to believe - problems gone, but that happiness was only for three days..
Question - is this model is most buggy faulty or so? Nearly 400 EUR for top series N class disaster is quite a big money... How nokia thinks to solve this problem? As I understood I'm not the one and only with that big list of problems for 400 EUR...
    Nokia 1611, 2210, 3110, 5110, 6210, 6310, 6310i (up to these models totally satisfied)
Then don't remember model, then E50 (mostly happy), then N97 mini - phone with briliant keyboard, but poor touchscreen, then business phone E07, phone that can not make a photo of contract, invoice or business card. poor design of usb port and 5 months at service did it - my nowadays phone is Apple. Company gave me Asha 300, so frustrating, that I use my old E50 instead...

Yesterday evening I gave back my faulty item to repair center. They said that, previously service center most likely couldn't find the cause of problem and just renewed the firmware.
Strangely - Yesterday morning talk with Nokia Customer care center figured out, that there were NO ANY registered repair or update action made by authorized service (and must be  registered). May be nothing was done or service center is not so "official".
Thank Good, yesterday the phone showed up the malfunction and guy said - most likely it is resistive touch sensor problem that should be replaced, because it after some time wears out or is tended to bend or so - so it becomes malfunctioning and should be replaced...
Strange - if the phone costs ~400 EUR the touch-screen sensor should be more wear-tear, bend or any problem resistant to average phone use conditions. To face this problem every 3 to 9 months - doesn't seams to be fair offer for that price...
Today I was promised to have a call from service - within what time phone will be back to me at working order... Still waiting.

  • DROID Eris Touch Screen HUGE Malfunction!

My Eris is completely {word filter avoidance} up. The screen freezes ALL the time and not only that but it drags the screen to the left by itself. In texting it always pulls the cursor towards the left of the type box, and on the main screen it drags the screen to the left, then when its all the way to the left it freezes, and when it doesn't freeze it won't let me pull it back right. I'm REALLY getting ticked off about this crap, does ANYONE have any suggestions?

Obviously there is a real issue with the touch screen /software /cursor or whatever regarding the Eris. I’m on my 5th Eris and I am so angry that Verizon keeps giving me refurbished garbage to replace a device I purchased less than a year ago. Shouldn’t we be entitled to a new device right off their shelf? I’m so tired of being inconvenienced and jerked around by Verizon and their service/ devices, my time is continuously wasted listing to technicians and customer service reps spew caned responses to my problems, and I’m tired!
I just want a device that works as advertised –
Something needs to be done about the way corporations are allowed to conduct business in this country. I constantly feel like I’m not getting what I pay for anymore, whether it be a service or a product. We are being robbed, and its legal.

  • HP Spectre 13 touch screen malfunction

The touchscreen on my Ultrabook malfunctions in a seemingly random fashion.
It appears to randomly and independently trigger the touchscreen in a clearly visible vertical line about two thirds of the way across the screen.
The screen reacts as if it has been touched with a finger - but it has not.
Because these 'ghost' touches are so rapid, it completely trashes whatever I am trying to do at the time as the cursor moves to these random locations and it triggers the opening of mutliple additional webpages, changes to font sizes and screen resolution and prevents me from useing the mouse to try and close down webpages etc.  The touchscreen malfunction is visible in all applications.
The only way to stop it is to press the power button until the laptop switches off.
I am not aware of a definite trigger, although at times I may have been trying to click on something with the mouse in the area where this 'flaw' appears to be located.
When I first got the laptop I thought it was some really grim virus and spent ages running and re-running scans,until I made the connection with the touch screen.
Then I wondered if it was something to do with particles or dust and spent ages cleaning the screen - but it happens when there is no visible contamination on the screen at all.
    Has anyone else experience this?

    Hi @Abby501
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are having some trouble with your touchscreen. I am happy to assist.
It is hard to know, as yet, what the actual problem is: sensitivity, drivers, hardware, other software, etc. Please post the full product number. See the following, if you need help in finding that.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
For now, you can see if you can try to adjust the touchscreen settings and see if it helps:
Press the Windows key which brings up the Start Screen
    type "touch screen"
    Click Settings
Select  "Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input"
    Select and configure as desired
Let me know if that helped.

    Hi uvijay,
    Welcome to the forum.
Have you done calibrating the touchscreens of the two devices? Also, check if soft reset will fix your problem. You can do a soft reset by dialing *#7780#. After that you'll be asked to enter a lock code. Just enter 12345 if have not changed it. You can also do the steps advised by @ng85 (message no. 4) above.

  • Touch screen issues after win 10 upgrade

Hello! I upgraded my Touchsmart 600 (http://support.hp.com/id-en/document/c02507415) to Windows 10. Everything works fine besides touch screen. It actually worked right after I installed new drivers for Graphic card, it worked really fine. After Shutdown or Restart, so after rebooting it stopped working. Now only works on login screen, strange. Whwn I log in, stops. I tried reinstalling Graphic drivers, just to see what happens, and my touch screen worked again. When I restart, again only on login screen. Awkward. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Hrvoje.

Similar issues here with a Pavilion TS11. Touch screen works intermittently.  Works fine immediately after booting, then randomly quits working. I started to think it was just a coincidence and a wire was loose or something was malfunction in the screen itself. It does randomly start to work again though. I hate it because so far I really like Win10.

  • Problem push and hold on a Surface Pro tablet's touch screen

    Hi,
I tried posting this before, but I can't find my origional post so I hope I'm not spamming accidentally.
I have a problem with my program on a Windows 8.1 Surface Pro tablet. I programmed a button to be 'push-and-hold', but when I touch the tablet nothing happens until I release my finger. This briefly controls the button. When I connect a USB mouse to the tablet, it responds normally; when I press the left mouse button: the button in my program goes down until I release the mouse button. I tried about every setting in the Touch section of the Windows control panel without any succes.
    Does anyone have a suggestion?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Why did my brand new Ipod 5g 32gb touch screen stop working?

So I got this ipod from the Genius Shop for about a month. A few days ago when IOS 7.1 came out, I updated it. However, the ipod seems to lag a little. Today, I was charging my ipod and for some reason, when I turn it on, the touch screen stop working (the ipod is in perfect condition). The home button, volume button and the on/off button all works fine except for the touch screen. I want to restore everything on my computer, but I can't get pass the lock screen (the touch screen seems to stop working). I just can't do anything on this ipod anymore beside turning it on and off. I can't even power it off because the touch screen is no longer touchable. So how can I restore everything, or do something about this ipod to work again. Can I still take this back to the Genius Shop and get another one without additonal charge?

If the reset does not work try the remaining items of:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
