C5.5 Issue with color/colour in matching question drop down list

Hi is there a way to change the colour of the letters that appear in the drop down lists for a matching question in 5.5?
I'm using white text on a grey background for my quiz slides, which is nice and easy to read, but then in the preview the letters in the drop down appear as white text on a white background. I can't see a way to change the font in the drop down back to black (as it is on my editing view), without also changing the colour of the answer text.
Is there a way to change this?
I've just tried covering the lists over with a chunk of background image - so that the user doesn't even know they're there, but the quiz slide has ordered the image behind the lists.
Failing there being a way to change the colour, is there a way to have a matching slide without a drop down list at all?

Thanks for the extra info - I'd tried changing the properties and using the object style manager before, but hadn't considered using them together.
This time, I followed your advice and:
I set the colour for 'Matching entries' to black in the object style manager
Then went into each column 1 entry and set the text to white
The result was white text in the column, with black in the list. Much better than before!
However, when I changed the text in column 2 to white, the list entries became white as well.
After a lot of experimentation, I've discovered that if you just select the text object and change the colour, you change all the text including the lettering and numbering of the answer - this changes the list colour.
If you change the text in the answer by highlighting it, this doesn't affect the lettering/numbering, however it still changes the drop down
To leave the drop down the right colour you need to change the answer colour by highlighting first, but, and the order is vital, you need to insert a space between the letter/number and the answer text first.
So, the end result I have is that the column 1 text is the right colour, the column 2 text is the right colour and the text in the drop down is the right colour. Unfortunately the lettering for the column 2 answers has to stay the same as the letters in the drop down list, so they don't show up brilliantly (black on a dark grey background), but it's a massive improvement on the invisible list I had before!

Issue with Color Fills and Multiply?

I use Photoshop 7.0, and yesterday I started having an issue with Color Fills.
(You may actually have to Say I have a black-and white lineart on the background layer, such as
this. I double-click on the background layer to make it edit-able.
I click on the Color Fill button, choose solid color, then pick any color (say we use bright red). I go back to the lineart, move the Color Fill layer to underneath the lineart layer, and fill the Color Fill with black. Normally, it would just create white, however for me it has pink/light red. The same thing also happens for patterns and gradients; it leaves a very faded version of the color on the picture.
I didn't change any options or settings, however my little brother was playing around with Photoshop, and he may have changed something. Can anyone tell me how to get it so that there is no pink or faded color there?

One quick way to fix this is to hold down crtl-alt-shift while Photoshop
starts up, and reset your prefs to their factory defaults. This will not
lose any of your work.
The other way is to look through your various settings. Top of the list is
whether your new files are being created in RGB or CMYK mode. It should be
RGB.

The drop down list fonts are small. We want to use bigger font in the drop down list, but cant find a way.

Hello,
Formatting Question slides in CP is sometimes a pain. I cannot give you a proper answer, but it would be great if you filed a feature request to the team to have more control over the styles used in this dropdown list (link is in the main page of this forum). If we are many to ask for such enhancements, it will get higher on the priority list.
As you probably discovered, in the Properties of the dropdown lists in the Matching Question slide you can only change font and color, not font size. My proper workaround is choosing a font that gives the best result, some fonts really look bigger than others. This is not always consistent with the styles in the rest of the movie, but I adapt all the Text in Question slides to this choosen font.
Sorry not to be able to help you. Question slides are in the folder, but in SWC-format, and I cannot open those files, even though I have Flash CS4 installed. Perhaps a Flash-wise guy will pop in to help you.

Populate a drop down list with data from Excel and fill in a text field, based on drop down selectio

I have a problem with a PDF form: There's a drop down list that I populate with Excel data that I've put in an XML file through an XSD file -- no problem here. The drop down list has a data binding to the XML file, so that a choice in the drop down list can be associated with an object in the XML file. So, when I make a choice in the drop down list, a corresponding object value is fetched from the XML file and put in a text field on the form.

There's a snag, though, and to describe it more clearly:
The XML file contains three types of objects: role, role number, and role cost center. Of these I use the first and the third, i.e. the role and the role cost center. The drop down list contains the roles, and when I select a role, the corresponding cost center is filled out in the text field. So far, so good!
But -- if the cost center has the same value for two or more roles, all of these roles "bounce back" into the drop down list, that is, they are all selected in the drop down list. How many of these you can see depend on the height of the drop down list -- if it's low you'll only see the first one.
If I modify Stefan Cameron's data in his example I get the same behavior, so the problem seems to have to do with how XML data are fetched.
I'm sure there's a workaround, but I can't find it! I've spent many hours browsing the web without finding anyone with a similar problem.

Firefox tab to fields and drop down lists with Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Has any one else noticed some problems after upgrading to OS X 10.5? It seems I can't tab to every field, such as the "Keep me signed in for today" checkbox on ebay's login page. I used to tab to it before upgrading. I'm also tabbing past some drop down lists where you select the state where you live in sign up pages. And before you suggest it, I have already turned on "All Controls" in System Preferences->Keyboard & Mouse. I don't think that affects Firefox anyway since it is a system controls option and doesn't affect the actions in a browser window.
Also, some drop down lists no longer drop down. I can focus on the list and even change the value using the up and down arrows, but the full list is no longer displayed. Again, this changed with the upgrade to Leopard.
If any one has experienced these specific issues or something similar please share your thoughts and solutions.

I am also having the drop down problem on my macbook, it's getting really annoying. On top of that, twice today (i just got the macbook three days ago) my keyboard will just stop working- i cannot type in firefox nor in finder or word.

PO drop down list populates with "Delivery Completed" POs

I have seen the following issue: When the supplier creates an ASN manually and is requested to populate the Purchase Order field, the drop down list displays "Open" Purchase Orders as well as "Delivery Completed" ones, which is very confusing. Do you happen to know how I can ensure that the supplier only has the choice to select from "Open" Purchase Orders when creating a new ASN?

If a particular email address will only be associated with a single office, then one thing you can do is set the export value of the items in the combo box to the corresponding email addresses. The email address will be the value of the field when you retrive it with JavaScript.
To submit to a particular email address, it would be best to use the mailDoc method, which is documented here: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.505.html
This is best because it allows you to reliably customize all the the email properties like recipients, subject, body, etc.
The code for getting the value of the comob box would look something like this:
// Get the email address from the combo box named "combo1"
var sTo = getField("combo1").value;
If more than one office will have the same email address associated with it, post again and I can refer you to other posts that discuss this situation. You would have to use a similar approach if you do not want to set the export values of the items to the email addresses for some reason.
The alternative is to use the submitForm JavaScript method, but specifying the subject and body text is less reliable and more complicated.

Drop Down list in table with data from database table

I have created an interactive form in WD ABAP.
In Context tab I have created the nodes as follows:
ZSOHEADER node with cardinality 1..1
|-> MATERIAL node with cardinality 0..n. Under MATERIAL node there are 2 attrib. MAKTX and MATNR.
I am fetching data from MARA table into an internal table IT_MARA.
The node MATERIAL is bound to internal table IT_MARA.
I have created a table with property ' Body rows vary depending on data ' .
I have only one row in table. The first cell of the row is a drop down field.
I have bind the field to the node MATERIAL->DATA->MAKTX.
Now the issue is even though I have created only one row in my table, in preview it is creating as many rows in the table as the no.of records in the internal table.
I want only one row with the drop down list containing all values of the internal table.
Kindly suggest what to do.

In the WebDynpro Context, in the main node create another node like A1 with cardinality 0..n and in this node create attributes TEXT and VALUE.
Now goto method and in that method using code wizard read the node A1.
And use the below code snippet sample in your program, i.e. code this under respective method of the webdynpro.
*Declare the TYPES
TYPES : BEGIN OF TY_TABLE,
TEXT TYPE SOMETYPE,
VALUE TYPE SOMETYPE,
END OF TY_UOM.
*Define Internal Table and work area.
DATA : IT_TABLE TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF TY_TABLE INITIAL SIZE 0,
WA_TABLE TYPE TY_TABLE.
SELECT TEXT VALUE FROM TABLENAME INTO TABLE IT_TABLE.
lr_node_info->bind_table( IT_TABLE ).
And in the Adobe Form Layout
Go to Menu of the Adobe LiveCycle Designer:
Tools>Options..>DataBinding
In that window you just check the Show Dynamic properties Check Box.
Now for the Drop Down go the binding tab in object palette and click on the list items and there specify the Internal Table and specify the text as the internal table text field and value as internal table value field.
OR
From the WebDynpro Native Library Palette use the Value Help Drop Down and in object pallette goto binding tab and provide the form interface binding. Before this in the WebDynpro goto Context and for the particular field under the properties provide the search help as dictionary search help and specify the name of the dictionary search help.
OR
We have another method of setting the Text and Value to the DDL directly in the WebDynpro by coding in the methods, I dont have much knowledge on this.

New Adobe DC works not with fillable Documents (Drop Down Lists) in iOS

Hi, the new Adobe DC for iOS (iPad) has a big Problem. When you have a fillable Form with some Drop Down Fields it only works with the first Drop Down. Any other Drop Down will not work since you manualy restart the Adobe in the Task Manager. Please Fix that quick! It's not usable for my Company anymore!!!

Help with Hidden Drop Down Lists in RBList subforms

I have created a form that contains 3 isolated Radio Button lists, each with hidden subforms that are unique per each button.
Two of my RBLists and subforms work perfectly, showing hidden Drop Down List options and other fields as they should when a button is selected.
However, RBList3 presents the Drop Down lists as user entry fields only. Each hidden subform in RBList3 contains one drop down menu and one text box for instructions.
I've used the same javascript to hide/show hidden fields when buttons are selected. All settings seem to match up. Here is a sample of my code:

I see that the code works for radio button G selection in the change event. However, what I really need to happen...is for the RBList options to be present on the screen without any subform data until the user clicks button E, F or G. If either E or F is selected, then the drop list and the text box would pop up as you currently have them placed on screen.
My original problem was that the EdgeDropDown2 list loses its functionality when wrapped in a hidden subform (i.e. SubformE or SubformF).
Can I add code to the change event to make EdgeDropDown2 and PanzDrawTxt appear only if either E or F are chosen. The code you wrote below works only for G selection.

Drop Down list issues in jsp

Hi,
I am facing an issue with drop down list in jsp pages on page postback. Let me explain in detail. I have a client.jsp page which has a drop down list and a text box. The drop down list is populated from an Action class (lets say testAction.java). In the client action form class there is a validation which requires the user to enter some value in the text box.
So here is the problem, when the client.jsp page loads, the drop down list is populated perfectly, but then the user clicks submit button without entering anything in the textbox, the page loads again with an error message ("Please enter some value in the textbox"). At this point the drop down list does not contain any value. Any ideas what could I do?

Here is the process/page flow.
index.jsp is the first page which is loaded.
Link on index.jsp calls action="/client"
This pulls mapping from struts-config and calls testAction.java
This populates the arraylist and returns to the createClient.jsp page (mapping from struts-config.xml)
Now createClient.jsp page has two fields (dropdown list and textfield=clientName) and a submit button
if user clicks submit, clientActionForm is called and does not enter anything into clientName text field, error message is returned.
At this point, the drop down list in createClient.jsp is not populated and is returned as empty, even though the scope=session in struts-config.xml
Please provide some inputs on how can I handle this issue.

I think one solution would be instead of putting the list in the request, but it in your ActionForm.
Add a field to the ClientActionForm with getters and setters.
Then change your action.

ISR drop-down lists with ZCI layout

Hi,
We are developing a custom ISR scenario on Netweaver 2004s SP11 and Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7.1. Our Interactive form has a drop-down list which is supposed to get prefilled. When we use the ZCI layout, the drop-down is not showing any values. If we simply change the layout type to Standard, it is working fine. While using ZCI layout, we inserted the webdynpro script and used ISR native controls.
Why the drop-down is not working with ZCI layout? Are we missing any thing?

Drop down list issue

Hi I am working on form which has a drop down box with 3 different values.
Different textfield Item have to appear on the page according to the value selected in dropdown list.
Problem is that I have to select each value from the dropdown list TWICE to make the corresponding textfield Item appear on the page.
Can you please help me with this?

OK, I'm trying to make the above code work, but it's not. I have adapted it as posted below. By default I have my text field set to "invisible." My drop-down list and my text field are in the same subform as I want them to be side-by-side. Could this be my issue or am I just missing something really basic?

Drop Down List functionailty changes with EHP4 / NW EP1

Since applying ERP Enhancement Pack 4 and NW EP1 we are having a number of issues with the rendering of our Web Dynpro ABAP Applications. The main problem that users are complaining about is the drop down functionality. Previously users could tab into a drop down list and start typing and the list would display starting at the letter they had first typed in. This no longer happens. You have to have either mouse clicked into the field and then start typing or you can tab and press f4 and then start typing. The users are finding this very annoying. Does anyone know how this can be fixed or do we just have to live with it now??

Unfortunately these notes did not fix our problem with the drop downs and it still remains. Unless there is another patch, I am probably going to have to raise an OSS note with SAP or wait until Enhancement Pack 2!
