C7280 Printer no longer sees my network

I was printing just fine from my C7280 printer this morning - but as of this afternoon the printer no longer see's my router.  When I go to Network and do the Wireless Setup Wizard it will see routers in neighboring apartments, and even my iPhone, but doesn't see my main router that it's always been connected to.  I've rebooted the printer, re-started the router, upgraded the firmware in the router, made sure I was running the latest HP drivers on my laptop, and I even plugged on through USB and the printer worked fine.  I also reset the printer by holding down the #3, then #6, and finally #9 as I started it up.  In every case - the printer still can't see my router.  Any thoughts?
The router is an Airport Extreme running the latest firmware.  All of my other devices still see the router just fine.
Also - I printed a network report from the printer.  It states the Radio On - Passed, Radio Working - Passed, Network Name (SSID) Found - Fail.
Thanks,
Don

OK, on the front of the printer, in the Network menu, Restore Network Defaults.  Try again.
If that does not work, make sure that your Airport is:
1. Broadcasting its SSID.
2. Set to use WPA encryption.
3. Have 802.11g mode enabled (along with others is fine).

  • IPod Touch no longer sees home network

My iPod Touch has been successfully connecting to our home network for years and suddenly no longer even sees it. It can see other networks (neighbors, home office, etc.) but not our home network. Our MacBook Pro still connects just fine to the network, retrieves mail, surfs, downloads, etc., suggesting something is amiss with the Touch.
I've upgraded to Lion as of yesterday, and upgraded to iOS 4.2.1 for the Touch. I was hopping THAT would solve the problem, but nothing. Still no success connecting with the Touch and the MacBook Pro still connects perfectly.
Oh, I've also RESET the iPod Touch Network settings.
Any suggestions for other things to try? Again, NO changes have been made to network hardware, only to software. What do I need to tinker with or adjust on the Touch?

luvlabs elsewhere has answered this same problem with an amazingly simple fix: reboot Time Capsule. That is, unplug it, wait about 15 seconds and plug it back in. It will take 30 seconds or so to get up to speed, discoverable, etc., but then my iPod Touch had NO trouble connecting. I had to type in my password for use of the network, but now it's back to its normal operation. Thank  you luvlabs! [I love labs, too, BTW! Big shout out to Grimmy!]

  • Photosmart B 209 no longer sees WIFI network since I've moved from WEP to WPA

My HP Photosmart was working well until my ISP has asked me to change the name of my WIFI network (now includes underscore symbols) and the protection type has changed from WEP to WPA....Paswword has not changed, it's just the type of protection
Since then, the printer doesn't see anymore the WIFI network. I've printed a Network report and it says I need to check that SSID network & printers are the same....
My old network SSID was : Freebox and it has moved to : FREEBOX_BRUNO_DH.
Where can this be changed on the printer ???
    Thanks for your help

Why is your ISP dictating what your SSID name will be???   This is not right.   You can make the SSID name anything you want, but I would not use what your ISP has said.   It's YOUR network, do what you want.   Make the SSID and password for you.

  • IPod Touch No Longer Sees Home Network - Has Been Fine For The Past Year!

Tried to connect my ipod to the internet this morning and it connected fine, then the signal dropped out and back in again.
It did the hokey cokey for a while before dissconnecting all together, now it wont even see the SSID of my network.
Ive tried reseting the network settings, reseting the ipod, inputting the nework info manualy and deleting recently downloaded apps.
I went through all the info on the apple website and followed the instructions etc.
I havnt changed anything on my router or ipod and all my other devices connect fine (2nd ipod touch, laptop etc).
On a couple of occasions it has seen my network and ive managed to connect only for it to dissapear again seconds later!
Reset my router (Netgear DG834g) and disabled the security, it saw the network so I selected it and the 'tick' came up by its name but the iPod wasnt assigned an IP or DNS etc then it said 'cannot connect to network (network name)'.
Now on a couple of occasions the ipod has lost its mac address and had no wi-fi options what so ever!
    Any help would be appreciated.

Exactly the same issue for me, this is a replacement iPod I got 3 days ago due to a battery issue.. it has been working perfectly since I got the replacement iPod touch, but now, it picks up no networks at all even though there are at least 4 nearby which it used to pickup.. If I take my iPod right next to the router I get a single bar signal but get the "could not connect to the internet" error and the network is disconnected. I am taking my iPod to the nearest Apple store tomorrow. It's an iPod touch 1g 8GB by the way..
EDIT: And I have tried it on 3 different networks, at college and at home and doesn't pick up any of them, so I highly doubt it's a router issue..

  • Airport no longer sees any networks

    PowerBook G4
    OS X 10.4.11
This is my music jukebox, and it's been working great until connectivity to wireless networks disappeared.
There are dozens of wireless networks here, yet the "bars" are grayed out, unable to see any networks at all. Other laptops see mine and the others fine.
Is there a way to reinstall just the network software? My installer seems to want to reinstall 10.4 completely at which time I'd have to upgrade to 10.4.11 again, etc. Used to be that one could repair/install selected components.

Well, I took the Airport card out, disconnected the antenna, reattached and reseated the card...still no good.
Then I remembered having an old Lucent WaveLan Silver card. Downloaded the driver from http://www.ioxperts.com/products/80211b_X.html. This worked.
Also, here they suggest you can rip the antenna off a Lucent card and replace the Airport card with it: http://www.schwie.com/brad/?p=15. I think I'll leave it like this until I get a new MacBook and our current MacBook becomes the jukebox server.
Thanks for all your help! This process at least got it running again. I appreciate it.

  • RG No Longer "Sees" Second Network

I have been a Uverse customer since 2012. I have a Pace 3801HGV RG. At the time my service was installed, I had just bought a Linksys EA2700 router. The AT&T installer set up the Linksys router in an upstairs bedroom to serve as a second wireless network. It has worked fine for the past 3 years until a couple of weeks ago. Now none of my wireless devices can find the Linksys. When I log in to the RG, it shows the Linksys as an Active Ethernet connection. I've reset both devices numerous times, but don't know what else to try. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The Linksys is on an Ethernet cable correct?Unplu cable from device and plug a laptop or similar internet device in, can you connect to the internet? If yes no issues with cable or port on the 3801 RG, if no try changing to different port on RG, if good then bad port... If not good most likely your Ethernet cable. If internet device works but Linksys does not, then you need to replace the Linksys, three years for a wireless circuit before failure is not that uncommon.

  • HP 6840 no longer sees the wireless network.

I recently updated the firmware on my Airport Extreme and now my HP 6840 wireless printer nolonger sees the network. I have run and rerun setup, rebooted everything even tried using and older MAC to run the obsolete setup software to no avail. Printer works when plugged in to the ethernet, Airport works but the the printer will nolonger funstion wirelessly.
HP said it was obsolete, Apple said it was an HP firmware issue and I am frustrated.... Any suggestions?
    msm

I did have a very long discussion with HP Support but this printer is no longer supported by their phone support. The tech gave me a lot of ideas but none worked. I have determined that one of two things has happened:
    1. The recent firmware upgrade to the Airport Extreme has caused the problem, which you think could be resolved with a new driver, but nothing Apple or HP supplies with work, or
    2. The radio itself has failed. This I doubt, but every attempt to re-enable it does not work.
I have the printer plugged into the router and it is working but the location is not optimum for our home. No worries, as I mentioned before, I have ordered an inexpensive wireless printer server and should have it back in line by this afternoon and back in my home office where it belongs.
    Thanks for the converstaion!

  • My iPhone 5S no longer sees my wireless printer via bluetooth

my iPhone 5S no longer sees my wireless printer via bluetooth.  All it does in Settings is continually search for devices.  I've rebooted the phone, as well as the printer.  I even sat next to the printer with no luck.  It did find the printer when I initially set it up.

Did this work for you in the past?
ios does not support bluetooth printers without extra software.
    Helper app -- /print n share
Print directly to the widest range of network or WiFi printers available in any app. Alternatively print via your computer to ALL printers including USB & Bluetooth printers. View read and display large PDF, Office & iWork files. Easily transfer & store files from the Cloud or your computer.
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/print-n-share/id301656026?mt=8
You need to buy the right printer.
The iPad uses a print technology called AirPrint. Airprint is a particular communication protocol that flows over WiFi.  So, having a WiiFi printer isn't sufficient. The printer needs to be of an Airprint variety of WiFi.

  • After the Airport update today, Airport Utility no longer sees my new Extreme or my 2 new Airport Express relay stations (same network); however, my internet is working and all Airports are green?

After the Airport update today, Airport Utility 6.0 no longer sees my new Extreme or my 2 new Airport Express relay stations (same network); however, my internet is working and all Airports are green?  I'm running Lion on my iMac and updated when Airport Utility prompted me to do so a few hours ago.  After applying the updates is when Airport Utility stopped seeing my routers.  But they are working?  Thoughts?

Did you remember to completely power cycle the entire network?
You would want to do this after any update or change to the network.
If you did not do this yet......things are out of sequence.
Power off everything on the network.....all devices.....power down order is not important
    Wait a few minutes
Start the modem first and let it run a minute or two by itself
Start the next device connected to the modem the same way
Work your way out on the network starting each device about a minute apart
    Check the network

  • Solaris 11 host no longer sees a ZyXEL wifi network router

This issue is on a Toshiba Tecra M10 running Oracle Solaris 11.1 SRU 0.5.11-0.175.1.0.0.24.2
The once functional wifi network iwh0 (net1) no longer sees a ZyXEL NBG-416N wifi network router.
The e1000g (net0) can connect to the router when direct connected via TP ethernet cable from the laptop wired ethernet port.
There are other wifi networks visible from iwh0 (net1) when the command 'dladm scan-wifi' is run.
When attempting to connect with the 'dladm connect-wifi' command (I know the command is good I recall it from the shell command history) .. I get "no wifi networks with the specified criteria are available"
The laptop is able to connect to one of the other wifi routers over this interface however not my own router (which appears to no longer be visible from Solaris 11.1).
I am able to connect to it from an HTC mobile phone and a Windows 7 laptop.
Removed wifi cache file /system/volatile/dladm/network-datalink-management:default.cache.0 and rebooted. No joy.
If I boot from the Solaris 11 DVD, I can still not see the expected wifi router.
At this point I am suspecting the ethernet address of the M10 iwh0 (net1) interface.
'dladm show-phys -m' lists the interface ethernet mac addresses (even if not plumbed).
Connected to the router (from alternative system, over wifi) and looked around. Noted the logs had a messages "possible DNS-rebind attack detected: a-0.19-*8d9zff4tq7njzcj.avts.mcafee.com" that seemed to start about the time I lost sight of the network? Can no longer say for sure as I restarted the router and it seems to have lost those log entries.
Contacted the ISP who provided the ADSL/router for use with their FTTC service offering - they are not aware of any 'protection mechanism' on the router that might mask a misbehaving mac-address.
Tried changing the mac-address on the iwh interface with 'dladm set-linkprop -p mac-address=06:05:04:03:02 net1' and ran 'dladm scan-wifi' without success (then reboot with 'init 5') resets to original but after reconfiguring again -still not available.
If anyone can help .. perhaps having seen something like this and solved it .. or even simply help with better troubleshooting, please advise.

Okay .. I changed the routers 'channel selection' from 13 to 7 and this wifi router network ESSID is again visible to the Solaris 11 instance. I expect the other OS's cater for this a little more elegantly?
    ~ # dladm show-linkprop net1 | grep -i channel
    net1     channel             r-   7            --           --
    ~ #
It seems the channel property wont be visible unless there is a connection (I suppose obviously).
I expect another router has moved into the radius close enough to interfere?

  • My old PowerPC G4 no longer sees any wireless networks

My old PowerPC G4 no longer sees any wireless networks. The PowerPC and my new iMac was powered off for a week. When I powered them on, the iMac found the usual wireless networks that are seen around here but the PowerPC did not see ANY! Even though they sit next to each other!! The G4 worked fine before and was connected to the internet.
The G4 has an AirPort card in it and IS enabled. Is the problem with the card (how do I verify?) or did something get turned off on the re-boot?
BTW the AirPort card does shows up in the system info and has firmware version 9.52 but states that "wireless network not available" under the Current Wireless Network.
    How do I fix this?
    Please Help!

As this is an old G4, I presume you have a PCI network card.
I had a similar problem on my son's old G4. After a lot of messing around thinking it was a software problem, I discovered that the antenna was damaged and did not make a good connection to the card. I could get it to work intermittently by pushing it on. The solution was to buy a new card.
So try manipulating the antenna connection at the back of your mac to see if you can get a signal.

  • Printer no longer connecting to wireless network

I updated my wifi password so I had to reconnect all my wifi enabled devices. I decided to just go back to the original password b/c I had too many devices to update then all of a sudden my wireless printer stopped working. It kept telling me the printer is not connected. I have tried uninstalling and reinstallign the software. I have tried re-establishing the network connection on teh printer screen using the WPS button on eth erouter and the pin and they both just time out. When I run the diagnostics, it says FAIL next to Network Name (SSID) Found. It is no longer picking up my wireless signal from my router. Is there a way to manually enter the network information? I have tried to manually add the printer and it only comes up if I connect using the USB but not wirelessly anymore. When I called support they said it is becasue my printer is from 2010 and its not recognized anymore??? It was working fine a week ago, all I want to do is re-connect to my wireless network. HELP please! I have spent hours upon hours tryign to fix/figure out
I am working on a Macbook with OS Mavericks 10.9 Also I am not seeing all of the utilities in my HP folder that used to be there under my applications, after I ran the uninstall they are all gone.

    Hey @tlpatlen,
Welcome to the HP Support Forum.
I understand you're having an issue with getting your HP Photosmart Plus All-in-One Printer connected to your wireless network.  I would like to assist you with this and may have the steps you need to restore your connection.
Thank you for including the list of steps that you have already tried.  While you have essentially tried all of what I would normally recommend and all of what's recommended here, there is another alternative.
Do you happen to own or have access to a Windows PC (XP to Windows 8.1 are supported for your printer)?
Even if it would mean borrowing a laptop from a friend to use in your home or office, there are more setup options available to you in this instance with PC access.
Assuming you have PC access, you could click here to download and install the Printer Install WIzard for Windows. When you run the Printer Install Wizard on a PC, you have the option of installing the printer via usb, and then converting the setup to wireless.  The difference here is that if the PC doesn't automatically detect your SSID, you can enter it manually, along with the wireless password.  As you have already discovered, with your current printer and Mac combination, there is no other way to manually input your SSID and WPA/WEP.
If you were able to gain PC access and complete the basic steps I have presented, the benefit to this setup, is that your printer will be connected to your wireless network and will hopefully retain this connection when you re-connect it once again to your Mac.
I hope this helps or at the very least, gives you a sense of what options remain.  Please respond to this post with details if you have any further questions or concerns.
    Best of luck!

  • Network printer no longer printing double sided

I've recently set up my airport extreme (AE) base station in bridge mode with my Verizon fios wireless router. I also have an airport express connected to a Brother laser printer via USB. The AE is getting ip addresses from the Verizon router, and I have not yet turned off any wireless signals, so both routers are sending out a signal. In this configuration, I can still send print jobs to my laser printer fine, but the printer no longer prints double sided even when the print settings are set to do so. I've also noticed that I can no longer see the printer status when I open up the specific printer app. for that printer. All of this was possible over my wireless network when I was running a simple cable modem to the AE and the AE was the only router in the house. Could this problem be caused by having two wireless antennas running at the same time or does this sound like another problem?

To try... set a different printer as the default, and have the network printer as non-default selection

  • Printer no longer working after wireless network reset

OfficeJet Pro 8500A, MacBook Pro, running Mavericks.
Since 3 days ago, when we re-added a password and locked our wireless router (ATT modem, UVerse), our printer is "off-line"   Print jobs queue up, but do not print.  When I go in and check it says "printer off-line."  Or in the print queue, it is something like "looking for printer."
It worked briefly when we found a cord and plugged it in to the laptop, but will not work wirelessly, which it was doing before.    No changes except to re-do password for the network.
I have the manual and have turned everything off, then back on in the order recommened (router, then printer, then laptop).  Still off-line.   Can someone please help?   Thank you!
    This question was solved.

    Hello @LindaGrace,
Welcome tot he HP Support Forums!
I understand that since re-adding a password to your wireless router your HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-in-One Printer is not communicating wirelessly with your Mac OS X 10.9 computer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this wireless communication issue.
Now, making a change to your network, such as a adding a password or altering a password, results in having to reconfigure your printer on the wireless network. At this point your printer is being 'blocked' access to your wireless network due to the change that you made. To correct this issue you simply rerun the wireless setup for your printer to 'tell' the printer the network name and password. Once the wireless setup is run successfully everything will continue working for you as per normal.
To run the Wireless Setup Wizard on your printer please follow the steps below.
On the printer touch screen, touch the Right Arrow () to display the second navigation screen.
Touch Network () to open the Network Menu screen.
    Touch Wireless.
Touch Wireless Setup Wizard, and then touch Continue.
Wait while the printer searches for routers that are within range. The Select Network (SSID) menu displays.
Scroll down the list of network names until you find the name of your network.
Touch the name of your network.
If prompted, enter the WEP or WPA key. This is the password for your wireless. The password is case sensitive.
Wait for the printer to connect to the network
    - Source
Once your printer is connected to your network again, please try to print. If printing still fails you may need to re-add the printer to your Mac because of the printers new network connection. Please follow the steps below to add the printer back to the Mac.
    1. Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.
    2. Click Print & Scan, and then check if the name of your printer displays in the Printers list.
    3. If your printer is already listed, remove and re-add the printer to confirm communication with the Mac. Click the name of your printer, click the minus sign (), and then delete the printer
    4. Click the plus sign (), click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer
    5. Click Add to add the printer to the list.
Now that the printer is successfully configured on your network and added to the Mac please try wirelessly printing again.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!
