Cache-control on IPlanet 6.0 SP5 doesn't work

Hi.
I am desperately trying to set cache-control max-age=0/no-cache to every file that is sent by the IPlanet from a special directory. I used the web console to set /dir/* to no-cache or max-age=0 but althoug the settings are applied and the server is restarted the HTTP header is still not touched in any way.
I read to changes of SP6 and SP7 but couldn't find anything regarding this problem so I haven't upgraded yet.
obj.conf says:

This is placed directly after the default object.

There's a big difference between the set-cache-control SAF and the HttpServletResponse.addHeader API. set-cache-control understands the HTTP protocol version in use and, if that version supports Cache-control header fields, adds a Cache-control header. HttpServletResponse.addResponse blindly adds any header you specify.
If you want to use HttpServletResponse.addHeader to add a Cache-control header to a response in Web Server, you can do so. The meaning of that header isn't defined by the HTTP/1.0 protocol, however.

The first thing to do would probably be to update your profile and/or signature so people will know what OS, language, and development system you are using, then perhaps include some additional information such as what "it doesn't work" means, and possibly a few other things like some error logs, what you have done so far, maybe a code snippet or two, etc.

Multiple Cache-Control Directives- iPlanet

Quick question: I'm running iPlanet 4 and want to add 2 cache control directives to the same directory. I want to add a max-age of 1 and a must-revalidate directive. Is this possible? The behavior I was seeing is that only 1 directive was being sent along with the request/response to the client. The end result I want is that the client will check (almost) every request for a file and if it is new pull that file, if not allow the cache'd version to be used.

HT5957 Controlling music apps in lock screen doesn't work in ios7.02?

After applying the second update to ios7, none if my music apps function in the lock screen. No stopping music from any app including the Apple music app in the lock screen. This means that Bluetooth controllers such as car stereo systems can't control next track, pause or stop on any music app being accessed since the screen is generally locked while driving. This is dangerous because the only way to control these apps - while driving - is to unlock the phone. Apparently my phone is now more secure, but I guess that means it securely doesn't work in lock screen.

Try A and B
(A) Restart iPad
1. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
2. Drag the slider to turn off iPad.
3. Turn iPad back on, hold down the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears
(B) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

You can access the repeat options if you right-click on the shuffle icon or if menus are enabled you can use
Controls > Repeat > Off | All | One.
Once the control is visible you can click it to switch between states as before. If the control is turned to off it disappears on the next track change. In contrast the shuffle control remains visible whenever it is appropriate. Hopefully the next release will fix this.
The bottom one should do it.

Turned on my iMac and looks like a negative, try using the control, alt command 8 trick but doesn't work.. can someone please help?

It is ⌃⌥⌘ 8 if your Keyboard Shortcut are set to default.
The System Preference location depends on what OS X you are running..?
For Snow Leopard and earlier, use or go to System Preferences > Universal Access and select Black on white.
For Mountain Lion and later, go to System Preferences > Accessibility > Display and uncheck Invert colors.

Proxy upgrade from SP1 to SP5 doesn't work anymore for virus scanning.

Upgraded from SP1 to SP5 and the virus scanning updates no longer work. No changes have been made it is a complete carbon copy using the migrate button. No ip addresses have been altered nor has the ports been changed. I've tried SP2, 3 & 4 and they too fail with a 504 error log. I turned SP1 back on and it works first time.
If you can solve this I'll be so impressed because its driving me crazy. I've checked all config files and everything is as it should be.

This thread was interesting as I have many customer sites using virus scanning without any problems together with this proxy.. Some sites are really huge as well.
Can the author of this thread explain how the scanning that now refuse to work is done with the proxyserver... Through an API or as forwarded requests to another scanning proxy (trend micro etc.) or what ? Maybe this is done in some way I am not aware of. Then I am really interested in your problem.
We mostly use it "user->proxy->vscanner->site" where the proxy and the scanner often run at the same host. This in huge installations together with load balancers infront and behind.

FireSIGHT FirePOWER controlling traffic based on AD users doesn't work

FirePOWER doesn't seam to be working for rules based on users from Active Directory.
I was able to import users from AD, and I can see the users being matched with an IP (Analysis->Users->Users).
I can say that the rule does work because if I build it to be IP based, traffic is blocked. But as soon as I add users to the rule, traffic stops being blocked.
Can someone a bit more experient with FireSIGHT and/or FirePOWER help me out with this...

MacPro eSata Port/Card doesn't work with new Hard Disk

I just bought 4 x 3TB Hard Disc http://tinyurl.com/d2rglvn (specs of disc)
Which I put in Macally Enclosures to work on my Barracuda internal Hard Drive externally http://tinyurl.com/clg8yjo
I already have like 5 x 1,5 TB that works perfectly well with eSata connections (with exact same enclosures)
**My problem is that my 4 new Hard Discs works really fine with my Mac Pro but only with the USB connections but won't work with the eSata Connection. I tried it on a MacBook Pro with an ATA to eSata adaptor and it works perfectly fine (So my discs are not the problem) **

There is nothing wrong with the cards. I enter .jpg files from them into I-Photo by connecting my camera to the IMac via USB cable.
What I'm trying to do is to is to get the SD card reader to work. I understand from a conversation with an Apple tech this afternoon that the card reader is, in fact, a two way device, so I could use it to write on the SD card with pix files downloaded from my desktop. I want to do this in order to get my .jpeg files to a local lab for printing instead of using CDs that have much less capacity (700MB vs 8.0GB).

Reader X doesn't display Pdf stream if response contains header "Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache"

Hi all,
I work on a web application that, among others, generates Pdf documents. It renders them directly within the IE window by "streaming" the content of the Pdf in the response output stream. Note that we also add the header "Cache-Control", "no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate,post-check=0, pre-check=0" to the response.
Everything was fine with previous version of reader but since I installed Adobe reader X the content of the Pdf is not showing any more in my browser.
Here is what I already investigated:
- if I use another machine with an "older" Reader version, it works. If I save the displayed Pdf and try to open it on the machine where X is installed it works
- if I remove the the Cache-Control header, then it works with reader X installation
Do you have any idea what changed between version 9 and X that could lead to this issue ?
To ease diagnostic I created a sandbox environment to reproduce the problem, you can go to the following address to see what's happening (or not in case you have version X installed)

We have semiliar problems in sweden with Adobe Reader X 10.1 Swe and Internet Explorer 8.0 with streamed PDF files.
We had some issues and got them resolved by the following
Upgraded to Adobe Reader 10.1.2.45 Eng
- Print Issue:http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-wont-print-reader-10.html
- Grey box in Internet explorer: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-opens-grey-screen-browser.html
- Add site as trusted: Edit-> Preferences, unbox Enable Enhanced Security + add the host/url to site that is whitelisted to send pdf files
(the Automaticly trust sites from mu Win OS security zones doesnt work for us)
The thing is we run MUI pack on our Citrix servers and want Adobe Reader in Swe but it havent been translated yet...
So we have to wait for the swedish release on Adobe Reader X 10.1.2

Cache control directives in iPlanet 4.1 (SunOS 5.7)

Using the admin gui (Content Mgmt->Cache Control Directives), I set the cache control to "No Cache" for the entire server; however, clients still seem to cache pages from the server (IE6 on winxp does not go to the server for pages it has seen before). I looked at the response headers using wget on solaris (as well as wfetch on winxp), and I don't see the Cache-Control header. Here is what I get back after requesting a page from the server:
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Server: Netscape-Enterprise/4.1
Date: Wed, 31 Dec 2003 14:01:13 GMT
Content-type: text/html
Content-length: 120
Connection: keep-alive
I restarted the server, and the admin gui shows the correct ("No Cache") setting for the server.

Spanish characters on Iplanet 6.0 SP5

Hi, a couple of days ago I installed Iplanet 6.0 SP5 on a solaris platform but spanish characters like � � � � � � are not recognize it when I tried to get a web page with those characters.
I already made a research on this forums for a solution, but there is not anough information.
Any ideas to solve this problem?
