Calendar invitation via email disappear?

Calendar invitation received via email just disappear without getting into the calendar?
- How can I change so they will stay in the inbox after I answered the invitation?
- Can I delete an invitation in the calendar without sending any information back to the person that invited me?

Actually, the recently released Comms Suite Update 5 (7.0.5.0.0) now has iMIP/iTIP support in Convergence 3 which allows users to accept or decline calendar invitations through email.

  • How do I send calendar invites via email or IM from (the new) iPad?

I do not have a mobileme account (and can not sign up for one, because subscriptions have been discontinued.)
So how do I send an invite out to an event that is on my iPad calendar? (I do not have an iPhone, yet...) Is it possible?
(Should I start using another calendar app? I'll take suggestions...)
    Thank you!

  • External invitation via email in Convergence

I often getting invitations from external contacts via email e.g. from Outlook with ics file appended. Is there any way that this invitations can be accepted and that the event will be written in my calendar. This would really help to cooperate with Outlook world in a much better way.

Thanks for responding. When I open the email and click on Subscribe to this Photo Stream, this is the message I get:
To subscribe to Pamela Mccormack’s “Baltimore Zoo” photo stream on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, open your invitation in the Mail app, and click the Subscribe button in the message.
To subscribe you need to be signed in to iCloud on:
an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 6 or later, or
a Mac with OS X 10.8.2 or later and iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later
So I have Mac OS X 10.8.5 and iPhoto 9.4.3 installed.

  • What happens when someone forwards photostream invite via email

What happens when someone forwards photostream invite via Email.
I would ultimately like to send directly to parents of my kid's sport team - however the manager says the distro changes alot and it would be best if I send her the invite and she forwards off.
I'm sure there are a mix of IOS and Android users but I'd like the IOS users to benefit from having it in their iPhoto programs, and the others can opt to go to the URL provided in the invite.  Are there any issues with the manager forwarding the Photostream invite?  Any experiences to share when sharing photos taken at a game?
    Thank you in advance.

You will need to create a Public Photo Stream since many of the parents will be on PCs. Here's how:
With that scenario the email will look like this:
The link at the bottom will take the user to the website.  Or you could go to the website yourself, copy its URL and incliude that in an email to the manager for forwarding on.

  • IOS sends Calendar invites via icloud to known icloud users

I am having a lot of difficulty with our company phones and tablets with regard to calendar invites.  Users are complaining that they are not getting calendar invites from other users, and when they do they don't end up on their exchange calendar.  I believe this is the issue:
    1.  iPhone user creates a calendar invitation to their default calendar (which is an exchange calendar) via their iOS device
    2.  The email addresses they specifiy match with Apple somehow as account email with iCloud
    3.  The invitation is sent via iCloud somehow to users that Apple has matched as having an email matching their iCloud account calendar email
This presents multiple problems: If a user isn't subscribed to their iCloud calendar on one of their devices (say it's on for a tablet and not their phone) they will never receive the invitation.  More of a problem is that when the calendar invite is sent (by apple's servers apparently) in that manner, it will come into their iOS device on their device's consolidated calendar (calendar overlay of numerous calendars) but can never of course be sync'd to their exchange calendar which is used on their desktop/laptop.
I'm hoping I'm missing something here as it's a disaster in a corporate environment; it isn't an issue where they can simply use an alternate email address to send the invitation as the majority of users have configured icloud (specifically for icloud backup ONLY, they don't give a darn about the iCloud calendar) with their company email addresses.  This results in calendar invites that are accepted from a user's iOS device from never showing up on their exchange calendar.
The preference would be to either be able to configure a device never to send invitation in that way, OR to configure a receiving device to only accept emailed calendar invitations/configure iCloud not to match and send invites to their iCloud calendar but instead to always deliver to the associated email address.  I'm not sure if this is solvable, I've got to believe with how widely deployed iOS is and the fact that for companies of any size Microsoft Exchange is the de facto standard...there must be a workaround.
    Suggestions?

You are not missing anything, you are referring to integration of Apple product - icloud and Microsoft product - exchange. They do not integrate, were never intended to do so by either of the companies - as far as I know.

  • Icloud calendar invite - default email??

How do you set which email calendar invites are sent from, I use the calendar for work appointments, yet my iCloud is a personal account.

I decided to open a real problem, so I went to Support.Apple.com and within a few short clicks, Apple called me.
I accidentally hung up on them, and they called back in 2 minutes.
I then waited in the queue for a few short minutes.  The person who answered, understood my problem and transferred me to the iCal department where I waited another 15 minutes.
The iCal department then did some research for 10 minutes, and came back to tell me that, unfortunately, iCal is working / not broken.  I disagreed, saying that this is my business computer and not being able to send meeting invites to anyone not using a MAC is insane.
The support guy suggested I tell the developers directly, via http://www.apple.com/feedback/ical.html.
    I already did that.
He suggested that you all do to.  The more people who feedback, the faster we'll get a fix!

  • How do i automatically import ics calendar invitations from email into apple calendar?

how do i automatically import ics calendar invitations (sent from Windows computer - Outlook) from email into apple calendar?

From Calendar Help. The only two ways listed are using the Import command or a drag and drop.
    Import events into a calendar
If you want, create a new calendar for the events.Add or delete a calendar
Choose File > Import > Import.
Locate and select the calendar file that contains the events, and then click Import.
Choose the calendar you created or another calendar to add the events to.
You can also drag a .ics file to Calendar. The events in the file are added to the calendar that’s highlighted in the Calendar list.
You might be able to set up and Automator action to do it for you.

  • When I add a *.ics calendar item via email on my iPhone it shows in my calendar on my iPhone but it does not show in my calendar on my iPad. Why?

I am using icloud and family share but when I receive an email with a *.ics calendar file and add it to my calendar on one of my devices it does not show on the calendar of the other devices. Same happens if I e.g. add my flight details to my calendar via the KLM app. The details show in the calendar of the device where I did it, but not in the others.
But if I add a new calendar entry on one of my devices it immediately shows on all my other devices.

If you are talking Photostream remember that Photostream does not transfer existing photos on your device it only transfers new photos added to the camera Roll by taking or saving them. Also note that photos aren't added to Photostream until after the Camera app is no longer in use. Furthermore Photostream is not a backup media. It only saves up to 1000 photos and only for 30 days.
If you are talking about camera roll photos saved in an iCloud backup then there is no way to view these. They are for backup purposes only.

  • Is there a way to send mass Outlook calendar invites?

Our business is a subscription based business that has multiple service lines that hold a client only webinar each month. One of our service lines has found great success in terms of response and attendance sending out calendar invitations via Outlook.
However, these invites can only be sent out to 20-30 email addresses at once without being marked by spam filters.
    1. Is there a way to do this in outlook or a product that allows us to do this?
    2. Is there a way to do a "mail merge" of sorts for outlook invitations?
    3. I know we are able to do a mail merge and attach an .ics file, but correct me if I'm wrong, we aren't able to verify who added that to their calendar because the sending email address won't receive an accepted or declined response. It would be
nice to see who accepts as well because then we are able to cross reference our registration list and manually register those who may have just added the calendar request, but didn't go into the link to register for the conference--this also gives us collateral
    for sponsors.
Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks!

  • Accepting calendar invites puts appointment at wrong time

When I get a calendar invite via Mail on my iPhone 3GS (iOS 6.1.3) and accept it,  it puts
the appointment in the calendar based on the invite time basis (eastern time) rather than converting it
to my iPhone time zone (mountain time).    If I pull that same email invite up on my iMac Mail program and click on the
link then accept it, iCal on the iMac places it at the right time.   And, when I sync the iPhone with the iMac,  the appointments transfer correctly.
I have time zone support on settings set to mountain time on the iPhone.   Is there some other setting I have to make to
have the iPhone "read" these invites correctly?  Any clues as to getting this corrected would be appreciated.

    Hello Bruce,
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.  You may need to turn off the Time Zone Support for the calendar entries to match your current time zone on your iPhone:
If you do not use Time Zone Support, your iOS device will default to the current clock setting. iOS devices that are location aware will automatically set their time zone, date, and time using Location Services. You can verify your current date and time settings in Settings > Date & Time.
To disable Time Zone Support for calendars
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Scroll down to Calendars.
    Tap Time Zone Support.
Slide the slider for Time Zone Support to OFF.
You can find the full article here:

I hope this helps get you back on track!

  • I don't receive calendar invites from google calendar on iphone

I use ical on my macbook as well as on my iphone.  I have them both logged into the same apple account.  When I receive an invite from someone using google calendars I receive this invite via email as well as a notification on the macbook ical.  I don't receive this on the iphone ical.  Even if I accept and it is showing up as an event on my macbook ical, it still does not show up on the iphone ical.  This is when it is sent to a specific email address which is not my primary icloud email address, but it is listed as one of the email addresses for my icloud account.  Any suggestions?

I should note that this is happening when someone sends me an invite from google calendar to a yahoo business hosted email account.

  • Send an iCal event via email ?

I would like to send an invite via email, so that the recipients can just click on the
link and add the event to their calendars.
I have created a ".ics" file and clicking on a link to that works, but: the iPhone
offers to subscribe to a calendar. Why can't it simply add the event? I can
see it getting messy if a user starts subscribing to too many calendars...
So the question is: is there a way to craft a link so that clicking on it
just adds that event to the existing (default) calendar?

    MAcy Lo,

  • [iOS 8] How to turn off vibrate notifications on new calendar invitations?

I don't want any notification when I receive a new calendar invitation via Exchange.  I had no problems disabling this in iOS 7 and earlier, but with iOS 8 I can't seem to turn off the vibrate notification.  In Settings...Notifications...Calendar...Invitations, I've turned off everything there.  Notification Sound is set to None, and Vibration is also set to None.
Yet whenever I receive a new calendar invitation, my phone does a short vibrate.  No alert shows up on the screen, just a short vibrate.
How do I silence this thing?
    Using iOS 8, iPhone 5S 64GB.

Here is what finally worked for me in ios8 (8.1.2)
Settings > Notifications > Calendar > Invitations > Notification Sound > Set *both the alert tone and vibration* to None (they are separate settings.)  The view from the Invitations form is a little misleading - the Notification sound will say "None" even if there is a vibration setting other than None.
Not sure when this changed but it was making me a LITTLE CRAZY.
