Calendar on an iPod Touch 5G

I just got a new iPod Touch 5th Gen. Is there any way to make it look like my calendar on my iPod Touch 4th gen. I hate the way it looks and acts on the 5G. I hate red. My 4G had a grey block and was easier to view and looked more like a calendar . 5G is smaller and lighter and harder to read and I hate the way it operates/looks....so is there a way to make it act/look/like the 4G. Personally like the way my 4G looked compared to the 5G and I thought I was upgrading to better. So disapointed.

If the calendar still exists in iCal, delete it there and then sync your iPod. That should eliminate the extra calendar(s).
If that doesn't do it, make sure iCal is setup the way you want it and then do the following:
1. With your iPod recognized by iTunes, click on the Info tab in iTunes.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page
3. Check the box on the application that you want to overwrite data on the iPod
4. Sync your iPod
That box will not stay checked so you don't need to worry about accidently doing it again.

New calendar and older iPod Touch

Since the "old" calendar will be de-activated next month, I will no longer be able to sync my first generation iPod Touch to the new calendar. I use the old calendar now on my intel iMacs, MacBook Pro, iPad 2 and my old iPod Touch. Everything works well, but there is no software download available to upgrade the older iPod Touch to sync with my newer stuff after May 5. Basically my iPod Touch becomes a music player; I need the calendar function and do not feel the justification of buying a new iPod Touch when I already have one that works well and cost a lot of money when I bought it three years ago. Why can't Apple just leave things as they are? We have the choice of which calendar we want to use, and they are taking that option away with utter disregard for those of us who have already spent our $$$$ for an iPod Touch and still need to be able to use it. I urge Apple to either offer a software upgrade or to just leave the old calendar turned on. Have a little respect for your customers.

You might be able to do it if you can generate/sync you calendar with a Google calender and set up the iPod to use an exchange account for Google. Google exchange account syncs via wifi and is supported by iOS 3 and later. See:

Syncing contacts/calendars on multiple iPod Touch using 1 Apple ID

My wife and I each have an iPod Touch (5th gen) connected to a single Apple ID.
We each have our own calendars and contacts and do not want to mix them together. Unfortunately, I had already upgraded our iMac to 10.9. Contacts and calendars now go through iCloud (grumph!) instead of the local computer.
Is there anyway to keep our calendars and contacts separate without adding another Apple ID? That would make managing our music collection impossible.

Create a NEW account/ID using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

Use the new ID on one deviceiPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
and Settings>iCloud to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Settings>GameCenter
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

Calendar data in iPod Touch zapped

I went to work and synced with Outlook calendar, all my business appointments went into my iPod Touch, then I went home to my Mac (where there was no data in Calendar) and synced, being careful to choose "the info in the computer will be overridden by the info in the iPod" (or whatever it said to that effect) and the opposite happened apparently...now there is no calendar data on either the Mac or the iPod. Is there any logical reason this could have happened, something I'm missing? Eric

Why can't I hot sync my outlook calendar with my ipod touch?

Since I bought my ipod touch I have used Outlook calendar, notes & contacts. I have never had a problem syncing those programs. After the first of this 1 1/2 years of using my ipod touch, it started not syncing the outlook calendar but my outlook notes & contacts still sync. I have tried resetting it, restoring it, deleting outlook and reinstalling it, unmarking to sync with outlook and explorer in itunes and then checking it to sync with outlook again. I have an extended warranty with Walmart where I bought it, and I sent it to them. They sent it back saying nothing is wrong with the ipod (which I told them on the phone) because everything else works. I have searched Microsoft & Apple for answers to this but I have found nothing. It seemed to stop syncing the calendar after the 1st of the year and I have been trying to fix this problem since then. Does anyone have a clue as to why or how to fix this problem?

In this case you would have to add this account in "Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > iCloud" for email, calendars, contacts, reminders etc. After you have finished checking emails, etc. you can delete your account in the same way.

For those of us stuck in the Windows environment that do not use Outlook, there is a BIG problem synchronizing Calendars with an iPhone (or iPod Touch). It would be so helpful for Apple to open the API so programs like Sync-In-A-Blink could be written for the Calendar. I do not understand why the API is not available

Calendar syncing woes--ipod touch

My ipod touch 4th gen syncs some of my google calendars but not all of them. Is there now a limit to the number of calendars which can be synced? They all used to sync, I have not added any more calendars.
And I have removed, re-started and all the other nifty tricks I could think of.
I also use an ipad and all the calendars show up there.

Today I did the same thing I did many times before (logging in to google from the ipod touch) and authorizing the missing calendars. This time it worked!
I did also learn today that there is a limit of 25 calendars which can be synched to the ipod touch.

I have an ipod touch and a macbook. I have been trying to sync my calendars, and there is no way for me to sync them over iTunes. There is no box to check. The message I'm getting says my calendars are being sync'ed over the air, and they aren't. I do not have a mobile me account, and I will not get one. I have too much information on my ipod and my mac for me to delete and re-start either one. What can I do? Is there any way I can return to an older version of iTunes until you get this sorted out? How do I change the over-the-air settings? I go to settings--> calendars --> sync all events, and it doesn't sync. I've got to get this sorted out. What do I do?

Help on restoring calendars data in iPod touch

I got frustrated with the iffy quality of mobile me sync and calendars. I turned it off for a while. Now I just downloaded BusyCal and was hoping to get it working again. However, it erased my mobil data with the wrong info from my computer.
I have tried using Time Machine to restore my iPod data. The iPod was connected to iTunes. Then I went into Time Machine and got an older backup and replaced it. But then "restore from backup" won't show once I do that.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm actually kinda confused, I know that on for example, the iPhone 3GS, it should ask for you to download an older version. As seen in the following screenshot:
Did you see this at all? This should of happened in the proccess in the install. Try to install it again, see what happens.

I use Microsoft Works on my PC and iTunes does not recognize the Works calendar. Therefore I use the iPod's Apps calendar. I recently purchased an identical iPod for my wife and can't find a way to sync the calendars between the two iPods.
