Calendar portlet - bad zip file

Please replace the zip file for the calendar portlet. CRC error - premature end of file reached.
Thanks.

Sue,
I've downloaded the Calendar portlet - June PDK. I am using WinZip 8.0
The zip file opens, however when extracting the contents I get:
"Error in file #1: bad Zip file offset(Error local header signature not found): disk #1 offset:97."
"Error in file #2: bad Zip file offset(Error local header signature not found): disk #2 offset:567." ... and it shows missing header signatures for the rest of the files. I've just downloaded the calendar portlet again (12:45PM EST) and I get the same message. I have tried that on 5 different computers and I get the same message. The test shows that the archive is OK, but when you attempt to extract the files you get the error messages above.
--George
P.S. I've tried extracting the files with WinAce and WinRar and I get the same errors.

    - Server name download-east.oracle.com

Why can't you just make it a lot more small zips. Every time I download I get errors in different parts of the zip w/CRC errors. We could then download 50MB or 100MB pieces and unzip into the folder. Large zips are impractical

    Hi,
(CRC- Cyclic Redundancy check if you get CRC error it means your zip file is corrupt) I also download 6i from same location and it works fine are u using any download manager for downloads.

  • Bad Zip file

So, I got a new iBook a week ago and I started moving my files over, right? Well, I zipped all my different stuff (music.zip, pictures.zip, etc...) and when I got to my new iBook with those files, I had a problem. 2 zipfiles opend fine, but then pictures.zip turned out to be empty or something. It said "zero kb" no biggie, though. I didn't have many anyways.
The real problem is my music. I have a ton of music that I can't open. The filesize is big and i can see "opening SONGNAME ...." So there intact. But thatn it gives me an error message. If you need that mesage let me know but the gist of it is "not allowed" or something. (not giving you much to work with, eh?) So I thought its a permissions thing, ok?
I went into disk utility and verified all the permissions and everything. That didn't work. I moved the file onto the original iBook to try to open it. That didn't work.
Is there a program somewhere that can just crack this baby open for me?
    whew

You could try the free StuffIt Expander. But I'm not sure it's going to help you repair/expand a file if its really damaged in some way. Is there a reason you compressed everything to begin with? Pictures are usually JPEGs which are already compressed. MP3 files are also already compressed. You probably didn't really save very much room at all by compressing/zipping them. I suppose it might make it easier if they were all consolidated into a single big file, though.
If you have a previous iBook running Mac OS X 10.1 or later, you could have simply used the Migration Assistant (in your new iBook's /Applications/Utilities/ folder) to transfer all your files (pictures & music), applications and even network settings to the new iBook with just a FireWire cable. please provide exact filesizes when you report such installation/unzip issues, also, you can compare the md5sum with the one posted on the website.
    sizes / name / md5sum:
    2055432139 RHEL3-DVD1-Oracle-v1.4.zip c571eec50edfd8c032e86cfacc7976cc
    812339260 RHEL3-DVD2-Linux-v1.4.zip 756444bc87871ed52eee9baeb1880390
for md5sum on windows you can use: http://www.md5summer.com/
on linux just type md5sum <filename>
99.99% it's the download, based on the size/md5sum you'll know which zip you'll need to redownload.

  • Not able to unarchive .zip files

I can't unzip .zip archives after the last updates. seems strange when all worked well before the update and the updates only effected iTunes and Quicktime. I reintstalled the system and had the same problems.. unarchiving starts and locks up when using the finder and when using Stuffit expander.
    I'm using OSX 10.3.9
any ideas how to fix this?
    Geidden
    Power Mac G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hi Geidden
    Welcome to Discussions.
The file you are trying to unzip may be corrupted.
Can you unzip something else that has unzipped in the past?
It is a good idea to run Repair Permissions before and after an update. You could run Repair Permissions now.
Open Stuffit Expander , found in Applications/Utilities and in the menubar, iSupport, select Check for Updates. I am not sure what the latest version is for 10.3.9, but perhaps it needs to be newer to match your other updates.
But, it is likely a bad zip file that is causing this.
If you are familiar with Terminal you could create a zipfile and then see if Stuffit will unzip it. If you are not familiar with terminal, than I may rue that suggestion

  • Bad Link In download SubInACL for reset_fp10.zip file

Someone must have updated the page and pasted the wrong link into the 'download reset_fp10.zip file' link, because it just reloads the same page it's already in, instead of loading a .zip file.
    See http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/494/cpsid_49419.html

I'm still having a permissions problem on one of my user accounts on an xp
sp3 Home edition system.  Maybe you can give me some guidance.  The user
account is the original owner admin account, and plays flash content, has a
successful installation according to the Adobe sites, but won't play linked
flash windows or pop-up flash links.  This owner account was set as limited,
but is changed to admin sometimes for installations, etc.  The flash problem
dates back  more than a year, I believe, but I've only recently started
    wrestling with it.
(See this forum thread for details:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2173329#2173329 )  and also here
    (http://www.aumha.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=41587&start=0).
I tried using the script from this artilce:
ns-in-windows-xp/) to change all the registry permissions for all users, and
had to restore the system because Flash would no longer install.
Lately I've been using this article
(http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19148.html) to try to check the registry
permissions for that account, and noticed that whereas the Admin, System, &
Creator\Owner has full control to this key & subkeys for most keys listed in
the article, and users have read control to this key and subkeys, the
(renamed) owner has (special) full control only to this key, and not
subkeys.  Will that keep the pop-up flash links from running?  (I get a
white window, and rt. Click gives non-working flash settings.)
This is a poor description, I'm afraid, but I'm hesitant to alter the
registry permissions without knowing exactly what permissions to grant this
admin account, so I don't compromise the security of the system.  That was
the reason for running as a limited account in the first place.
Some keys simply don't have the renamed owner listed, and when I tried to
add it in, wouldn't allow it because the object name couldn't be found.
(for example, in swf key, where permissions list is Administrators, Creator
    Owner, System, Everyone, and Users).
Yet the symptoms indicate that this particular user account is not getting
permission to play linked flash content.
If someone could give me an indication of which keys control that, or an
understanding of whether this owner needs normal full & read permissions for
this key & subkeys, as well as special full permissions for this key only,
for whatever keys I need to check, I'd be relieved to experiment a bit and
see if I can turn the flash on for that account.  Two other admin user
accounts have no troubles playing any flash content at all.
Thanks for any attention you may be able to divert in my direction.
    Sincerely,

  • Unable to unarchive ZIP file Error - 1

Every time I try to archive a ZIP file, i get the message "Unable to archive (Error - 1)" How can I fix this?

I have to agree, the most likely scenario is a bad file. As I mentioned earlier, I don't think there are any Mac utilities for attempting a repair. "Repair" is somewhat vague. If a file is bad it is missing data, and likely this data is critical to the running of the file. If you could repair this file (say, on a PC) you still might end up with a corrupt movie file which might refuse to play. Even if the movie plays it might end early or something.
Could this possibly be part of a multi-part archive set? The file extension is totally wrong for that but the "05" suggest more than one of something.
I have also read there are some obscure utilities that do flavors of zip that can't be opened on Macs.

  • How do i include a calendar portlet from groupspace in my portal

    hi all
i have created a portal web project and create a portal,
the domain created for the portal is normal portal domain without the groupspace/collaboratio facets,
now i want to include a calendar portlet into my application where users of my portal can use that calendar to schedule their activities,
What do i need to do integrate calendar portlets into my portal?

    Biren,
If you want to use calendar portlet, your domain should support the groupspace Framework configuration.
    Here is steps(WLP9.2):
(1)Create a domain which support portal and groupspace(Check the groupspace checkbox).
    (2)In workshop:
Create a portal EAR project(Select Collaboration API and Collaboration portlets App from weblogic portal Collaboration facet)
Create a portal web project(Select Collaboration portlets Checkbox from weblogic portal Collaboration facet)
    Create a data project(if required)
(3)Now open the merged projects view in the workshop.
(4)From the portal webb project copy the portlets folder.
(5)Now create a .portal file and keep the calendar portlet on the portal file.
You can use all the Collaboration portlets(Email,Tasklist, calendar,Address Book,Discussion). It needs same configuration for every one.
In weblogic portal 8.1.4 you need to manually run the SQL scripts and update web.xml/weblogic.xml but in 9.2 while creating the domain configuarion it does all the necessary task.
    Thanks

  • How can i create a zip-file with multiple volumes

    Hi,
i've to zip a large file (250 MB and more). But the zip file shouldn't be greater than 5 MB, because i have to send the file via E-Mail. So i've thought, that the solution of this problem can be to zip the large file in smaller zip-files, which are multiple volumes of a zip-archive. I've searched very long in WWW, but didn't find something. Perhaps you can help.
Sorry, about the bad english. :-)
    Timo Bunger

    Hi
Who said your english is bad ?. OK, are you looking for compressing the 250 MB file in to multiple versions using a java program ?. If not, there is a shareware you can download and split the file into multiple parts by specifying size of each part. You can send these parts via email and the other person can combine these parts into a single file again.
    Find this @

  • SQLJ in Oracle 10.1.0.2 missing translator.zip file

    Hi Friends
I have installed Oracle 10.1.0.2 on my system and trying to use the SQLJ feature.
The Translator.zip file which contains the SQLJ library is missing after the installation.
The path where it is supposed to be present is as below
    F:\oracle\product\10.1.0\Db_1\sqlj\lib
Does the Oracle 10.1.0.2 supports SQLJ feature and why is the translator.zip file missing.
Can you please let me know if this feature is currently supported for this specific oracle version.
Is there any problem in the installation or some other issue.
Please let me know if anybody has faced this issue previously and any help would be very helpful.
    Thanks & Regards

Oracle Database 10.anything is in desupport mode. This is a really bad time to begin implementation and development with such an old version.
My recommendation would be to remove what you installed and install 11.2.0.1 which you can download from http://otn.oracle.com.

  • Allow Zip Files as Attachments in PDFs

As many of you are aware, newer versions of Acrobat have removed the ability to open or save zip files attached to a PDF (without a complex registry hack).
Notice that I've attached a zip file to this post. Adobe: If you've deemed zip files safe enough to be hosted and delivered in your own forums, maybe they're safe enough to be reinstated in PDFs?
I believe no product should force security on its users without providing them any practical way to override. Web browsers, email clients, and operating systems warn you of potentially dangerous files and then let the client make the choice. What if it's a zip file from a trusted source full of harmless text documents? Too bad - because Acrobat says so. Acrobat makes no attempt to examine the zip file to see if perhaps its contents are dangerous - it just sweepingly decides zips are far too dangerous to let the user have any voice in the matter. I fundamentally disagree.
I think Adobe got this one wrong - and I cast a vote that they loosen the noose on zip files on a future release. I'd like to hear other users' thoughts on this issue. Adobe is good at listening to their users - so tell them what you think.
    Cheers,
    Dan

This information is for Acrobat Professional users in Windows XP. I don't know if it
is valid for PCs using only Acrobat Reader.
Adobe is wrong but that doesn't mean we have to live with their problem.
Since when does anyone open attachments from unknown or unsolicited sources?
Some zip files can be or contain executables (.exe) but that is no excuse for not
knowing where your emails or files come from and not having up to date virus software.
Adobe did not disallow zip file attachments, they just buried the enable so deep
that the average user would never find it and using an editor (regedit) that most users
have never heard of. As far as I am concernced, without any word from the Adobe
    Tower, this is pure marketing.
I have inserted a jpeg photo that shows, for Windows XP, where to find the hidden enable
and how to edit to allow opening OR saving (recommended) zip files. This is the
file I have been passing to my Engineers and suppliers. The information comes from
a help call I put in to Adobe.
Editting the registry is not difficult, you just need to be sure that nothing unusual
happens while editting the text or saving after done. Have an IT person or other
superuser do the edit if you are unsure. After editting and saving, select  BuiltInPermList,
then pulldown  File   and click   Export. This produces a one-click edit that will fix the
problem on any Windows XP computer.
Adobe is also blocking rar, tar and tgz compressions.
This edit needs to repeated anytime Acrobat is reinstalled.

  • Setting the name of streamed zip file

    Hi,
I have a servlet which creates a zip file with documents retrieved from a database. To create the zip file I am using the ZipOutputStream class and adding the documents one at a time to this object. This is all working fine.
The problem I have is pretty simple, in that I can't seem to find a way in which to set the name of the zip file. This must be possible! At the moment it appears to be setting the name of the zip file to the name of the class that created it. In this case my class is called DocumentPacker and what comes back from the servlet is a zip file called DocumentPacker.zip. This wouldn't be so bad, but if you're creating the zip file for a user that does not have cookies enabled, it appends the session id to the end of the zip file name which i don't want.
I am creating my ZipOutputStream like this:
    ZipOutputStream out = new ZipOutputStream(new BufferedOutputStream(response.getOutputStream()));
and then adding the documents one at a time using a BufferedInputStream.).
Any help on how to set the name would be much appreciated
    Thanks
    Claire

Your servlet must set some headers on the HTTP response (Content-Type as "application/zip", Content-Disposition as "attachment; filename=yourfilename.zip")
    Read the RFC1806 document.
    Content-Type: application/zip
    Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=genome.jpeg

  • Cannot access Graphics - bad class file

    Hey.
When I try to compile my source I get an error saying...
    .\Man.java:146: cannot access Graphics
    bad class file: .\Graphics.java
file does not contain class Graphics
Please remove the files or make sure it appears in the correct subdirectory.
It's on a different computer so that's not exactly it, but it's close enough. Compiler was working fine until the other day when i found out that all the source files were zipped up in src.zip, I had to extract Graphics.java so I could open it in emacs, and after I did that it started giving me that error message. There's nothhing wrong with my source, and I didn't move Graphics, it's still in the correct place exactly as it was, and i looked at it, all the right stuff is still inside. I'm quite confused.
So do I have to reinstall? That would mean a massive download on my 56k and I kinda wanna carry on with my work.

You should not need to unzip src.zip to use the Graphics class or any class that comes with j2sdk. The compiled classes are in jar files that are installed in certain directories when you install the j2sdk.
You should only need to have a line "import java.awt.Graphics;" near the start of your source code.
The error most likely occurred when the compiler found a Graphics.class file but inside the file is java.awt.Graphics class, not a plain Graphics class.

  • Problems with CRC in some windows app's whit zip files generated with Java

    Hello,
That is very strange but, we have an app for compressing a folder into a zip. For making, we use the Java.Util.Zip API. Our zip file looks fine, we can unzip the files into another folder without problems, even we can open the file with Winzip or Winrar.
But, we had encountered problems with anothers win apps like "Recovery ToolBox", or another win app built with the "Dynazip.dll" library. This apps give us the next error.
    "Bad Crc".
But if we unzip this "corrupt" file and we zip the content again, all work without errors.
