Calendar recommendations

Looking for a calendar program that can integrate with either/both iCal and/or Google calendar.
Essentially I need a three dimensional calendar. I have several attributes that each project shares. For instance, we need to view/keep track of rehearsal space or rehearsal programming over all, but also would like to view/keep track of multiple projects that use the space. There are other attributes and individuals are usually in charge of a particular attribute across multiple projects.
Some of the project management software out there sounds interesting (Merlin for instance) but usually adds a level of complexity and other areas of concern that is currently undesirable or handled in a separate manner.
So basically I need to accomplish three things-
*Over all calendar--typical daily/weekly/monthly overview
*Attribute calendar--overview of rehearsal space scheduling, or how many days a particular person worked, etc.
*Project calendar--all things associated with a particular project--rehearsal space, rehearsal programming, personnel, additional activities.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

1) yes, 2) yes, 3) no, 4) no and 5) no.
Well y'now, old timer, it may have been just a bit helpful to include just a bit more background and detail in your original post, seein' as how nobody hereabouts knows you from Adam or what you've already got or what you've already llooked at and, for that matter, what you already know.
My searches have found applications that do some of these but not all. And the some that do work are not very highly rated.
Right, and yet ...... 2 of 3 "no" responses represent things that you could have looked into before posting, arguably should have looked into ... well, okay, right you're not going to agree on that, so let's just say that I would have looked into ... and, OBTW, represented examples of things that you should consider looking into if you already hadn't.
Beyond that, sorry, but your statement along the lines of "+Somebody told me about Google but will I need an account ......?+" represented something which you could have found out on your own in not much more time than it took you to type it here. I doubt that you're too much older than I am but, even if you are, you'll get no senior discounts and free passes for laziness and a preference for wasting the time of others rather than your own.
Thank you for your response.
Oh, you're welcome.

  • Need a calendar recommendation

I've had my iphone for about a week and love it but I'm not a fan of the calendar that came on it. So I'm looking for app recommendations. I need the ability to set a custom repeat (ie every 3rd day, Tue/Thur, MWF). Syncing with a web-based calendar would be nice but not totally necessary since I have my phone with me at all times. If you have recommendations of calendar apps that will do this please share. Thanks in advance.

    You're welcome!

  • I was told I need to download IE to be able to ener events onto an online tourism calendar site?

I am a tourism organization, and I need to enter events into an online calendar of another membership organization I am a member of. They said for some reason, people using firefox cannot do this, and I need to use Internet Explorer. I really do not want to download this, and have it along with firefox on my computer. Any suggestions?

If that online tourism calendar doesn't work in Firefox, it may use IE specific coding that prevents it from working in other browsers. Nothing you can do about a situation like that except to use what other users of that calendar recommend - IE.
Internet Explorer can't be removed from Windows, so it should still be installed. If you don't have a Desktop icon for IE, look for it in the Start menu or Start > Programs. If it isn't there, open '''Run''' from the Start Menu and type '''iexplore''' in the '''''Open''''' command line box and hit '''Ok'''.
Or you could install this extension, which will open IE in a Firefox tab. <br />

  • Looking for recommendations - iCal substitution (different calendar or task manager app)

    Hello everyone,
for some time I'm looking for iCal substitution/replacement. I'm looking for a multiplatform solution (idealy OS X / iOS / Win). I'm a head of small team (5 subordinates) and iCal no longer suits me.
I'm looking for a task manager or different calendar application where I would be able to manage all the tasks my team has. So far I have found application Wunderlist, which is very close to what I want (basic version is free, it works on OS X / iOS / Win and synces through their servers) but it misses some crucial options (monthly view for example).
Also I do not want to and will not use any Google service.
    Thanks for any recommendations!
    Davon

I've been very happy with 1Password, though I haven't used the iPhone component (not having an iPhone).

This article has a link for more information on finding your profile directory: [[Fix the "Could not initialize the application's security component" error message]]. On Windows 7, you can try this (either in a Windows Explorer window address bar or from the start menu search box):
    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
You may see one folder in there and that's the one you want. If you see more than one, look for the one with the most recently modified files.

  • Can anyone recommend a good Mac Calendar, Contact program for the iPhone

Can anyone recommend a good Mac Calendar, Contact program for the iPhone. The one intalled is hopelessly inadequate and inefficient. 2 Main problems- The current iCal + Contacts programs do not link to each other. And there is no To Do List!
Palm and MS Outlook had those features 6 years ago! Whats up with Apple?!!

ical does have a to do list in it. either click the little pin under the calendar, or click show to do list in the view menu.
i don't know much purpose behind needing to link ical and address book (not that i'm saying it isn't important at all - you obviously have some type of need for it). but it's got to be possible somehow, because you can set ical to make a calendar of birthdays from your address book contacts (in the main preference pane for the application).
plus, i doubt there'd be another mac calendar application you'd be able to sync with your iphone, unless whoever developed it developed an iphone app to sync it with. probably wouldn't sync with your contacts/calendar apps that come with the iphone.

  • Backup Contacts, SMS, Calendar, Notes - Recommendations & Attn 'wjosten'

    Dear all,
In December I was recommended a programme called 'Touch Copy' for backing up content from my existing iPhone. After multiple attempts to use it and contact with the software "help desk" (who were no help at all!), I've been given a refund as the software just doesn't work.
Can anyone recommend another utility for Windows that I can use to back up content from my iPhone, namely Contacts, SMS, Calendar, and Notes?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Edward

I don't know, on one hand, as long as the progress bar is moving there's hope that the backup will complete at some point. On the other hand, damaged data could be part of the backup made if it is ever completed. So, if you have a working backup of your phone as part of your computer backup or another one listed in iTunes/settings/devices, I would stop the process, copy your photos from your camera roll to your PC, delete them, reset the phone (press sleep and home button for 10 sec.) and try again.

  • TS3999 Since upgrading to IOS 7, my calendar no longer syncs with Outlook Express 2010 on my PC. I believe we have iCloud 3.0 on our PC. I have tried all of the recommended remedies but the calendar from my iPad and iPhone has totally disappeared from Out

Has anyone else had this problem since upgrading their iPhone and iPad to iOS 7?

    See Pierre-Yves 1 post: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23297197#23297197
This was driving me crazy. Sync between Outlook 2007 and my iphone was working perfectly on ios 6 - I primarily sync Calendar, contacts, and notes.
Then everything went bizerk with ios 7... All of a sudden nothing was getting  syncronized, but rather multiple Calendars and Contacts showed up in Outlook 2007. Disabling Calendar, contacts, and Notes in my iphone's icloud settings did the trick. Now I have ONE Calendar and ONE contact list in Outlook, fully in sync with my iphone.

  • Searching for best practice recommendations regarding connecting Exchange calendars to SP 2010

A user has requested assistancing setting up a web part on SP 2010 to display their "on call" calendar from Exchange.
When she attempted it, she got the error that says, in part, "[...]
This could be due to the
fact that the server certificate is not configured properly with HTTP.SYS in the HTTPS case. This could also be caused by a mismatch of the security binding between the client and the server"
I am a bit puzzled as to where to start. The admins for the Exchange server are in another group - it sounds to me like there is some sort of issue going on between SP 2010 and Exchange 2010, but I am not clear on how to proceed so that we can fix it.
I do know that I have noticed in the event logs an Application error event that says that "an operation failed because the following certificate has validation errors" and later "SSL policy errors have been encountered. Error code '0x2'".
In asking around, I was told that the site mentioned elsewhere in the error is a verisign signed site which has chained certificates. I have no idea what specific action triggered the error - the message says
    Source: Microsoft-SharePoint Products-SharePoint Foundation
    Task Category: Topology
These may be two totally separate situations. I don't understand the certificate concept well enough to be able to determine that.
Does this ring any bells with anyone?

    Hi,
Thank you for your question. I am trying to involve someone familiar with this topic to further look at this issue. There might be some time delay. Appreciate your patience. Thank you for your understanding and support.

  • Recommend project management calendar tools that integrate with SharePoint

    Hi All,
Has anyone integrated SharePoint with project management tools like Trello or DivvyHQ.  We built out a task management system in SharePoint, and would like to integrate it with an out-of-the-box project planning tool so marketers can take advantage

  • Can you recommend calendar app w/ fine-tuned alerts?

I desparately need to find a calendar app where you can fine-tune the alerts, e.g., 15 hours, 7 minutes, etc.. --& where the alert lasts longer than the blip that's on the iPhone 4S. Ideally, once it alerts you, I'd like it to go off again in a few minutes (my Palm would alert me every 10 minutes, 3 times, until I dismissed it. This was a life-saver.). I have severe memory problems and am in a panic over the loss of my Palm program on previous  phone.
This was the only reason I purchased a smart phone, and I'm finding it's not as smart as it thinks it is. My Palm program was much, much better.
    Many thanks.

Take a look at CalAlarm on the App Store, you can snooze an event indefinitely and repeatedly, and for any duration. Been using it now for a while, works well.
I have no need for such an app. Perhaps, even though it's been almost since this post was active, the OP is still looking for such an app.
    Best of luck.

Hoping for some help with a very frustrating issue!
I have been syncing calendar and contacts on my iPhone 5 and Outlook 2007 using iCloud  2.1.3 (my PC is running Vista). All was well until the events I entered on the phone were showing up in Outlook, but not the other way around. I’ve tried the usual recommended steps: deselecting calendar and contacts in the iCloud control panel and then re-selecting, signing out of the panel and back in, and repairing the Outlook installation in control panel.  I even uninstalled iCloud on the PC and downloaded it again (same version).
The furthest I’ve gotten is step 2 (and once, step 3) of 7 while performing “Outlook Setup For iCloud.” At that point I get, “Your setup couldn’t be started because of an unexpected error.”  After the first attempt at all this, all my calendar events disappeared from Outlook, although they are still in iCloud calendar and on my phone.
Sound familiar?  Any ideas on how to solve this iCloud/Outlook issue?  Thanks much in advance!

  • Scroll is broken on month view in Calendar

i can no longer scroll to next or previous month with trackpad in Calendar's month view. when i swipe two fingers up or down (or left/right) just nothing happens. is it intentional stupidity to force me to click left/right arrow buttons on top-right?

    Hello there, konkere.
The following Knowledge Base article offers some great recommendations for issues with erratic behavior with the Trackpad on our MacBook Pro:
Trackpad or Magic Trackpad is jumpy or erratic
Follow these steps and recommendations to resolve the issue.
Be sure only one part of your finger is touching the trackpad and that you are not resting your wrist on or very close to the pad. The trackpad may interpret this as your finger touching it and make the cursor move in that direction.
If you're using the Magic Trackpad, be sure the batteries are fully charged.
Moisture collecting on the trackpad can also cause this issue. Wiping off the trackpad with a cloth or tissue usually fixes this. If the issue goes away when a piece of paper is put between the finger and trackpad you may want to consider purchasing a Teflon applique to fit over the pad to prevent the moisture from having direct contact with the trackpad. Before installing the Teflon applique, confirm the trackpad is clean and dry. You can use a mild glass cleaner sprayed onto the cloth (not onto the trackpad itself)  to clean the trackpad. Note that oil or lotion can also cause the same issue.
Jewelry may also cause interference. Try removing rings or bracelets and see whether the jumpy or erratic behavior disappears.
Apple has had some reports of this behavior on Mac notebooks being used with power supplies made by a third-party company. If you are using one of these power adapters, unplug it and try running from the Apple battery to see how the trackpad behaves correctly. Also, try using the Apple AC adapter instead of the third-party AC adapter. If the trackpad behaves normally while running from the battery, there is most likely an issue with your adapter or outlet.
If none of the above resolve the issue, try to rule-out software not created by Apple as a cause. To do so, start in Safe Mode.
Magic Trackpad can act erratically when there is interference. See Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Potential sources of wireless interference for more information.
