  • How to use the calendar to add events and reminders?

Since updating to the most current software, I am unable to add events or reminders to my iphone calendar.  Does anyone know how to use it now?  I really miss my calendar!
    Thanks in advance

randers4, you saved my life!!  At least my social calendar life, including all my appointments and important dates.  After the last update, my + sign went away, but turning it on in the iCloud settings did the trick.  Thanks for your help!!

  • After ios5.0 update, my calendar's add event function is unavailable

After I downloaded the 5.0 update, the add event function in the phone's calendar is not there.  Anyone else experiencing this?  How do I fix this problem?

Just figured out how to solve this problem. You have to go to Settings, then tap on iCloud. Then find Calendars and click ON. That should make the "+" come back to screen. After I tried Calendars and seen it was back, I then went back to iCloud and turned off Calander again. It will ask you what you want to do with Calendar, so I just clicked on "keep on iPad'. That was just my opinion in turning of my Calendar on iCloud as I don't know much about it and don't want all my bussiness out there for who ever to see??? Not familar with it yet to have it on. Hope this helps!!

Its likely there but he pop up page isn't resizing properly.
Try a reset: Simulaneously hold down the On and Home buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it should appear. When shut down is complete, turn the iPad back on.

  • Unable to add events to my calendar

After updating to ios5, I can't add events to my calendar.  The + sign is missing from the top of the screen.  Any ideas?

I have the same problem, but none of the answers worked for me. When I enable the iCloud calendar, the settings app crashes. I have restarted the iPhone a lot of times but it doesn't work. Probably I will reinstall the IOS to see if it works.

  • I can't add events to calendar on ios 7

I recently updated to iOS 7, and am unable to add events to my calendar. I looked up the directions, tap the plus sign, but it is grayed out and doesn't allow me to do so. Is anyone else having this issue or know of a fix? Thanks!

Create your event as you have been doing but do not exit the event screen. Scroll down the screen and reveal a number of additional options, including 1st and 2nd reminders and one called "calendar". Choose calendar and you will see 3 further choices: Home, Work and Calendar. Choose Home. Bingo...  it will work.
What lamebrain thought these options were needed beats me...... its the classic case of tekkies with too much time on their hands dreaming up solutions to problems that don't exist. Sigh..!
For the record, the new format is irritating.  I downloaded a Calendar app ( Calendars by Readdle from the App Store)  which works much closer to the ios6 version and auto syncs with Apples version - after which I only use the downloaded one. Once again, you have to ask: "if it aint broke, why fix it?"

  • How do I add events to my calendar on iPad mini

The + sign on my calendar is greyed out so I can't add an event. I've tried asking Siri to add an event but when I get to the end and press confirm he says he can't do this but can't tell me why. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you resolve it?  I have the iPad mini

    Hi TinyTemper,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you're not able to add events to Calendar, try these troubleshooting steps first:
If you're using iOS 7, quit and restart the Calendar app:
Press the Home button twice to see preview screens of the apps you have open.
Find the Calendar preview screen and swipe it up and out of preview to quit the application.
Tap the Home button to return to your Home screen.
Wait a minute before reopening the Calendar app.
Restart your iOS device: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears, then drag the slider. After the device turns off, turn it back on by pressing the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

  • How can I add a contact on the calendar for an event

How can I add a contact on the calendar for an event

It is between Repeat and Alert on my iPhone 5 with iOS 6.0.1
I used the + on the top right to add the event and when you look vertically starting with the name, followed by location and then time the rest of the default things includ Invitees, among other items.

  • Unable to edit "calendar" field of events with invitees

I am having a couple problems with the "calendar" drop-down field on calendar events.
This is on a 4S, iOS5, syncing calendars with iCloud.
If I create an event with an "invitee" (or add an invitee to an existing event), I can no longer change the "calendar" field of that event.  In fact, the "calendar" drop-down doesn't even appear on the iPhone calendar app's "Edit" dialog for events that have an invitee.  I can still change it via the web interface at www.icloud.com, and the change is even pushed to the iPhone.  But on the iPhone itself, I cannot find a way to change the "calendar" field on an event that contains one or more "invitees".
Second, if I receive an "invitation" from someone else, I cannot find a way specify which of my calendars I want the event on when accepting it.  I would expect it to go to the calendar I have defined as "default" in Settings, but it seems instead to go to the last calendar I created.  And after accepting it, I cannot change it because the "Edit" dialog doesn't display the "calendar" field, as mentioned above.  Again, I can change it via the web interface at www.icloud.com, but cannot find a way to change it directly on the iPhone.
Am I missing some way to edit/change the "calendar" field of an event with invitees?  Or to select which calendar I want events to be on when I "accept" invitations from others?

I have the same problem.  I recently updated to iOS5 and set up syncing through iCloud.
I was able to add one event into my iphone calendar app, but for the next event that I tried to add, there was no longer the option to choose a calendar and when I tried to add it by tapping "Done," an error message came up: "No calendar is set". and there was no way to select a calendar.
I was able to add the event on my Google Calendar on my laptop (PC), and it synced automatically, but I wasn't able to add any events from the iphone itself because "no calendar is set".
I tried turning off and on the phone and syncing back to my laptop, but the problem persisted.
I deleted the iCloud account on my iphone, and that seemed to fix the problem; I'm able to add events again from the iphone and it's syncing to my Google Calendar.
I then signed on to iCloud and setup syncing again, but turned off syncing everything except photostream, documents&data, and find my iphone since everything else would sync to outlook or internet explorer, neither of which I use.
That might have been the problem.  For PC, iCloud will only sync to Outlook and Internet Explorer, and I don't have Outlook setup (can't connect to my work's email server with my account and the IT guys don't know how to fix it or they're too lazy to troubleshoot) and I only use Firefox and Chrome.  Since iCloud isn't syncing to any calendars on Outlook, there aren't any calendars set...
I just did this a minute ago and everything seems to be back to normal, including the ability to choose a calendar when adding events.
I'll have to see if it the problem comes back

I updated my iphone to OS 5.0.1 and i can not add events to my iphone calendar- does anyone know how to fix this issue?

I updated today to the 5.0.1 and now when I try to sync to ITunes, it doesn't recognize my phone and an error message comes up saying that "This iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started.'  What does this mean?  Never mind - I found an article in the Support about this very thing!  Thanks!

  • After syncing and updating my iphone my iCalendar on my computer lost most of my information. Including wiping out an entire calendar group.  When trying to readd the calendar group it won't let me add events to my calendar under that category.

After syncing and updating my iphone my iCalendar on my computer lost most of my information. Including wiping out an entire calendar group.  When trying to readd the calendar group it won't let me add events to my calendar under that category. A message pops up that says: "You can't add events or to do items to a calendar group. Select an individual calendar in the calendar list, then create your events or to do items." Any help here would be greatly appreciated! I would like to either retrieve the old information or find a way to add the category back in to start over. Thanks in advance!

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music'  then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo
