Call of Duty 4 for OS X

Has anyone bought and played this since it came out a couple weeks ago for mac? I am intersted in buying it if it will play well on my 24" 2.4 GHz iMac w/ Radeon 2600. I had it when i used windows on my custom pc w/ an Athlon 64 FX CPU and Radeon X1900XTX 512 graphics card and i could play all full detail. will i come close to that on mac? thanks in advance.

Call of Duty & G5 1.6 Install Issue

I just purchased for my dad a used G5 iMac 1.6 Ghz with the nVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (64 MB) and he bought Call of Duty for Mac. It installed fine but when you try to play single player, it starts up and displays an orange box in a window and then goes through the promo videos, etc and then ends up at the Main Menu - the thing is, the close, expand and minimize buttons for the window are not available and the options are not selectable at all - the mose doesn't select.
Going into Multiplayer mode works fine and smooth full screen and does not have this issue.
Does anyone have an answer as to why this is happening and a possible work around? Any help would be very appreciated...

Contact the software maker, there was changes in Quicktime in the last OS update that they may have to provide a update for their software.
Sometimes a game gets old and companies just stop providing updates because nobody asks for them.

Call Of Duty performance with rosetta

Has anybody tried Call Of Duty or any other games under Rosetta on the MBP.. im wondering if i should buy call of duty now or wait for the universal versions of these games to come out.

I dont have a MBP, but I do have a Intel iMac- see stats in my info.
I have Call of Duty and it plays fine under Rosetta. It runs a little bit slower than the G5 2.1GHZ in some points, but in others it matchs the G5.
Now is a good time to buy Call of Duty, for they will not release another game, just a patch to add onto the game to mac it run natively on Intel, without Rosetta.

I'm going to guess videos buffer for a while also...
Two possibilities, one is you should close apps on the iPad, the other is your internet speed is not able to handle the demands of a high speed device.
To close apps: Double click home button, swipe up to close the apps.
To solve internet problem, contact your provider. Basic internet is not enough for video games and movies. Your router may be old and slow.

24" iMac + Call of Duty 4 (MW): Setting up graphics for multiplayer

Any savvy iMac Call of Duty 4 (Modern Warfare) players out there? I'm having a hard time finding posts at Aspyr or online that directly related to the ideal graphic settings for the game, using an imac 24". The manual that came with the game also doesn't explain any of the settings. Could any good players who have the game running smoothly on an imac 24" please share.
I have heard some guys dummy down all their settings to try and get the best fps possible, but when I do that, it never changes my fps.
So far this is how I have mine set for multiplay, but I know I'm missing things:

Video mode: 1024X768(lots of screen sizes available)
Refresh: 60HZ (the only setting available)
Aspect Ratio: Auto
Sync Every time: No
Specular Map: No (What is this?)

I have just got this game thinking it would run great on my mac. But on mine the frames really dip when there is lots going on. I`ve tried lowering the settings, but from what I can tell this doesn't help. There seems to we very little information on the net about the Mac version of this game. If you have found some good settings please let me know as I`m a little disappointed with it.

Gamecenter error: connecting to online services on call of duty black ops zombies for iOS.

So I got this new app 3 months ago called Black ops call of duty : zombies. And I LOVE it!! But every time I try to join an online game, wether it be map vote, single map, 2-4 players, restarting my phone... What happens is it takes me to the gamecenter connect page, where it connects me with another player, but after a few seconds, it takes me into the multiplayer lobby, and then pulls up a message saying "connecting to online services" and it does that for a minute before saying "error joining room" and makes me quit the online game, leaving the other person kicked off the server because the other person (me) left or was kicked, I do NOT want to jailbreak my iPhone for this problem, and I am very experienced with iPhones and other electronics, both apple and Microsoft, if there is anyone who knows how I can fix this problem WITHOUT jail breaking my phone or paying money.. (Maybe ill pay money, it depends...) then Please tell me! It has done this to me EVERYTIME for the past 3 months, and still does... So please help!

I don't think it's an issue on the phone. you may need to contact the app developer. Make sure that the app you are using is not associated on your game center account.

Call of duty 1.5 patch on intel working for anyone?

If anyone has seen my past posts you would know i have been having some problems with my 24" intel iMac and call f duty and call of duty United Offensive. Well to save you all the past posts..i have finally gotten the disks installed on my computer and running. the problem is if i try to install the 1.5 patch for COD. the installation doesn't happen. it stops installing at the start and looks like it will continue but never does. I called Aspyr and they said that the patch is not intel compatible and that it won't install. bummer. however they also told me that COD in general would not run on an intel or with my graphics card and it runs 100% better than COD 2 does....which runs like atari. has anyone installed the 1.5 patch successfully? if so how? thanks

ok guys...here is the NEW news. you may like this but lets not get our hopes up. don't bother trying to install the patch from your friends computer,i have talked to aspyr a few times over the phone about this the past couple of days and they said it can only be updated from the installer. no other way. I tried doing that too with no success. but i will now copy the email that i sent them and their responses. tell me how i did:)

Xbox controller for Call of Duty 4

Hello Guys, I have been playing call of duty 4 on my mac for a while. I am considering buying a xbox controller to play with. While I have played xbox before I definatly need practice to become good at it. On the other hand I do quite well with mouse and keys. Is the xbox controller going to give me better performance than mouse and keys? Or is it even worth my time. Thanks!

Does anyone know how i can play this in a windowed mode so i can still do other things on my desktop at the same time.

I bought Call of Duty Advance Warfare today but did not get the free DLC, the rep asked my email for the DLC but when it rang up it showed 4.99 for the DLC . I was not sure what the 4.99 charge was but appears that it was for the free DLC.

No call of duty zombies for Indian app store?

Hey, i was searching for games on my ipad 3 and i was not able to find any call of duty games in the Indian app store , while the US app store has it for $6.99.
Why would apple do this? no support for the Indian call of duty fans ?

If content is different it's because it either hasn't been licensed for that country or perhaps it's not allowed in that country. Every country has different rules of what is/isn't allowed to be sold and this could be the cause.
Your best bet for an answer is to ask the game developers why they are not in the app store. I doubt Apple cares. With Apple getting a cut of every sale in the app store, I would imagine their preference would be for everything to be available everywhere, so any limits are likely the responsibility of a third party.. Perhaps the talent in a movie were not paid for international distribution, perhaps a country does not like or approve of a game.
(for example, facetime is not allowed in UAE countries and Apple has to respect that prohibition)

Is it possible to use a playstation 3 controller with call of duty black ops bought from the app store running on mountain lion 10.8.3 (without 3rd party software)

I think Call of Duty doesn't support controllers due to the balance implications in multiplayer.
