Calling a Web Service from R/3 4.7 (Web AS 6.20)

Hello,
I would need to call a SOAP Web Service from an R/3 ABAP Transaction. In particular, by clicking on a button a should get a set of data coming from an external Java application exposing a web service for that. I also have XI 3.0 in the middle. What is the best scenario I could implement? Thanks a lot. Luigi

Hi!!!
I would do this scenario as a synchronous one:
[SAP R/3][ABAP proxy objects] <-> [XI]<->[SOAP Adapter]<--->[external java app]
In your ABAP transaction you will have to execute ABAP proxy method to send a message to XI. If it's not your transaction, you can use user-exit.
BTW, I have an experience with XI 2.0, not with 3.0, so I used a XI 2.0 terminology.

    Can anyone give me some hints on the necessary steps in order to accomplish this task?
    Thanks
    Diz

    Hi Diz,
    I tried doing the same thing by following the steps as mentioned by you. Just to re iterate,
    1. Created a DC "Portal Application Standalone" project by the name myservice.
    2. Created a portal service inside myservice by the ame AmitsService.
    3. Exposed IAmitsService.class in the public part.
    4 Build and deployed the DC on server and tested it through an abstract portal component and it worked FINE !!
    Now..
    5. Created anoter DC of type WebDynPro
    6. Added SAP_JTECHS -> epbc.prtapi._api as a "Used DC" with dependency build time and runtime
    7. Specified the sharing reference in the properties as PORTAL:sap.com/myservice
    8. Tried to reference the service using the following code..
    IAmitsService portalservice=(IAmitsService)WDPortalUtils.getServiceReference(IAmitsService.KEY);
    9.Build and deployed the DC.
    10. When I run the application I am getting the following error

  • Setup needed to call a tuxedo service from a different machine

    Hi,
    I tried to search for the subject but I couldn't find a clear indication on the subject.
    I have a scenario where I need to call a Tuxedo Service from a different server (machine) than the one where Tuxedo is installed.
    What I need to know if it's possible and what exactly is the setup needed on this machine?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks :)

    Edited by: 986270 on Feb 5, 2013 8:21 AM

    Hi Wassim,
    Can you give a little more background and what you are trying to accomplish?
    If the machine that is making the call doesn't have Tuxedo installed on it (either full Tuxedo install or the client-only install), then you would have to use something like a web service client. If you want to use standard Tuxedo APIs instead, then you would need at a minimum the Tuxedo client install on the machine. If you have just the Tuxedo client installed, then you would be using the workstation protocol and would need to configure a WSL on the machine hosting the service.
    If full Tuxedo is installed on both machines, you can either configure the two machines as separate single machine domains (SHM mode), or configure them as a cluster (MP mode). In the former case, i.e., two separate domains, you would configure the Tuxedo domain gateway on each system to allow services to be shared between the domains. In the second case where the machines are clustered by Tuxedo, then there is nothing to do as Tuxedo will be able to route the request to the machine where the server offering the service is located.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi i have followed the following steps which is specified in this thread
    You need to follow below steps...
    add a java parameter to the OSB server. Go to domains\osb_domain\bin folder and edit the setDomainEnv file and add this line to this file. set JAVA_PROPERTIES=-Dplatform.home=%WL_HOME% -Dwls.home=%WLS_HOME% -Dweblogic.home=%WLS_HOME% -Dcom.sun.xml.namespace.QName.useCompatibleSerialVersionUID=1.0
    Step 2 is to replace the bpel jars in the bpel transport ear. Go folder osb_10.3\lib\transports and open bpel10gtransport.ear and replace the following jar files orabpel.jar, orabpel-common.jar , xmlparserv2.jar and oc4jclient.jar with the ones you can find in the soa suite 10.1.3 home.
    But still i am getting the error.
    I am using WLS (10.0).Is it compatible with bpel-10g protocol, because i have already called a sync BPEL process with http protocol and it worked?This thread talks about WLS(9.2)

  • OSB proxy service Calling OSB proxy service from BPEL

    Dear team,
    Wehave a requirement to call a Wsdl based OSB proxy service with sb protocol from SOA Composite from BPEL process.
    We created a wsdl based OSB proxyservice with sb protocol and deployed to OSB development server.
    We tried to export the wsdl and corresponding xsd files. sbconfig.jar got created.
    When we extracted the sbconfig file and placed the wsdl and xsd into the SOA composite.
    When we are trying to create a partnerlink, that OSB proxy service wsdl is not showing up.
    Please suggest.
    How to call OSB proxy service from BPEL..

    Hi,
    Here either you need to change the protocol from 'sb' to http or use the Direct Binding in soa-composite.
    please refer this links:

  • [OSB1031] how to call a RESTful service from OSB

    Hi all,
    I need to call a RESTful service from OSB.
    The RESTful URL service is http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/api/ordertracer and has been implemented in IIS.
    The service accepts a xml string message as input and returns an HttpStatusCode.
    So I started defining a business service (named OrderTracer):
    Service Type: Any XML Service
    Endpoint URI: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/api/ordertracer
    HTTP Request Method:POST
    Or should I define instead a business service (named OrderTracer2) as following ?
    Service Type = Messaging Service
    Request Message Type = None
    Response Message Type = Text
    Endpoint URI: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/api/ordertracer
    HTTP Request Method:POST
    When I try to test the business service (the first one named OrderTracer) from OSB test console I got an error:

    Hello,
    Can you call the same WS from ODI (through a data server test)?
    I think you should post the WSDL file generated by the data service to the BPEL Forum.
    There must be something BPEL does not like in the WSDL.

  • Calling another ITS service from existing ITS service

    Hi to Everyone,
    I would like your advice on calling another ITS service from existing ITS service.
    From my current ITS service eg. "Z_TESTA", i wish to call another ITS service "Z_TESTB". The problem is that it always prompt for userid and password when i called the 2nd ITS service. However, user already enter the password & id when they login to the 1st ITS service. Is there a way to call this new ITS service w/o the userid & password prompt again?
    Below is the codes that we used to call the new ITS service:
    (a) "http://.../scripts/wgate/webgui/!?~transaction=z_testb"
    OR
    (b) "http://.../scripts/wgate/z_testb/!"
    We used both method (a) and (b) but same outcome. Thank you in advance!
    YanaJ

    Hi YanaJ,
    in order to skip a manual login you have to have the credentials somewhere. If you disabled cookies, what I told you will not work. Another possibility would the usage of X509 client certificates. But this requires that you have a setup that distributes the certificates of all of your users. I personally nether setup such scenario. Maybe someone other can explain what you have to do.
    Best regards,
    Klaus

  • Call operating system services from Jdeveloper

    How can i call operating system services from Jdeveloper ?

    We do not use JDeveloper but use external procedures/routines called from the database. Then you can call a database procedure to an operating system task.

  • How to call a SAP service from adobe flex

    Hi experts,
    I need to call a webservice create from SAP BAPI  my URL is: http://xxxxxxxxx:8000/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/bndg_DD90E166ACE1B1F18AD8001B789FF0AD/wsdl11/allinone/ws_policy/document?sap-client=200, with this URL I can test the webservice from WsNavigator.
    The operation is ZimrfcVerifOtUbica and the input structure is:
    ZimrfcVerifOtUbica
    > PiNumeroAlmacen (input parameter)
    > PiOTransporte (input parameter)
    The output structure is:
    ZimrfcVerifOtUbicaResponse

    I've created a view with two inputfield (one to PiNumeroAlmacen, one to PiOTransporte), one button and one label (to put the result value).
    but I don't know how to call the WS, I tried with this code:
    <mx:WebService id="ZCCONVERTERService"

    and I get this error: [RPC Fault faultString="Could not load WSDL" faultCode="Server.NoServicesInWSDL" faultDetail="No <wsdl:service> elements found in WSDL at ."].
    I tried with actionscript and runtime library but I get this error: java.lang.Exception: Unsupported element in WSDL file: UnknownExtensibilityElement
    I tried put in Data--> Import Web Service and I put the URL and I get Unable to load the WSDL.  Specify another URI.
    Other thing is for this webservice I've created a logic destination, and this webservice is used in a webdynpro aplication and works correctly. But now I need to use the same webservice in flex.
    Could you help me to call to this webservice?
    Thanks in advance.

    I have could do it, but now I'm trying to do the same with a SAP standard service.
    Any idea?

    Read time out when accessing .NET Web service from OSB 10.3 proxy
    But there He mentioned like this : I had installed the x64 version of JRockit, but had not installed all the 64 bit components for WebLogic 10.3g.I was able to find the 64 bit IO dlls, and once installed, the errors no longer occurred.I am not sure about the mentioned *64Bit IO dlls*.
    Any one Please help me to resolve the issue.
    thanks in advance,
    chandra

    You need to download the 64bit version of weblogic installer and use a 64 bit jdk when installing weblogic. This will make sure the 64 bit ddl's are generated for you..The generated native libraries will be in Oracle_HOME/wls_103/server/native/<OS> folder.. You can check this directory whether 64 bit ddl's are available after you fix the problem.

  • How to call a  portal service from a servlet

    Hello all.
    I have a functioning portal service that I would like to call from a servlet.
    When I try to do so, I get a ClassCastException when I do this (on line two):
    IPortalRuntimeResources runtimeResources = PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources();
    IDocumentPersistence docPer = (IDocumentPersistence) runtimeResources.getService(IDocumentPersistence.KEY);
    However if I do the following I can get a generic IService and use reflection to invoke the method (in the IDocumentPersistence interface) that I want to invoke:
    IPortalRuntimeResources runtimeResources = PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources();
    com.sapportals.portal.prt.service.IService aService = (com.sapportals.portal.prt.service.IService) runtimeResources.getService(IDocumentPersistence.KEY);
    There must be a better way to use portal services (hopefully like scenario one above) in servlets. In web dynpro you can use portal services and cast them to the correct type. What am I missing?

    Hi Kim,
    how did you integrate the references to your Portal Service Interface into your web application?
    You should do this using the references in your application-j2ee-engine.xml, did you do this? It might be a problem with the classloader otherwise.
    The way you are calling portal services does work normally, however it is not the recommended way as it is documented in the SAP documentation.
    Please check the SAP documentation on how to access a portal service from a j2ee app:

  • OSB: Calling MTOM business service from non-MTOM proxy

    Hi,
    it is very easy to call non-MTOM business service from MTOM enabled proxy service, but I don't know how to do it in an opposite way. I have web service proxy (http) with binary data in Base64 in a soap body element and I'd like to call a business service (web service over http again) using MTOM format to send binary data in binary format (and not in Base64 as it is in proxy). Is it possible to somehow decode binary data from Base64 in a proxy service and send them from this proxy to a business service using MTOM?

    I understand the flow you propose, but I don't know how to pass decoded data from Java callout back to message flow. As far as I know I can only return primitives, String and XmlObject, because anything else can't be processed in message flow.Yes you are correct.But you can also return DataSource in java callout. Please http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/userguide/pojo.html
    Now the working solution/POC --Tested on my local linux box
    package manoj.javacallout.binary;
    import java.io.BufferedReader;
    import java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream;
    import java.io.InputStream;
    import java.io.InputStreamReader;
    import java.io.OutputStream;
    import javax.activation.DataSource;
    import javax.mail.util.ByteArrayDataSource;
    import com.sun.org.apache.xml.internal.security.utils.Base64;
    * TODO: I have use sun internal API for decoding for simplicity. You should modify this code with any base64 decoding library
    * Ideally should be using using http://commons.apache.org/downloads/download_codec.cgi
    * @author mneelapu
    public class Util {
         public static DataSource decodeBase64(DataSource ds) throws Exception {
         InputStream in=ds.getInputStream();
         BufferedReader bin = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(in));
         byte[] decodedB64=Base64.decode(bin);
         ByteArrayDataSource decodedDS= new ByteArrayDataSource(decodedB64,"binary/octet-stream");
         return(decodedDS);
    Java Callout to decodeBase64
    Parameters
    javax.activation.DataSource=[ $body/* ]
    Result
    javax.activation.DataSource=response
    Now replace the $body with the decoded base64 response from java callout
    Replace [ node contents ] of [  undefined XPath  ]
    in [ body ] with [ $response ]
    Use $BEA_HOME/modules/javax.mail_1.4.jar for compiling.
    Let me know if this solves your problem.

  • How Can I call a UCM service from SOAP request

    Hi,
    I have created one custom service and I would like to call that service from 3rd Party system via SOAP call. The 3rd Party system does not have the capability to call through RIDC.
    Now I have exposed my service and tried to call but authentication exception was coming status code 401.
    So I created one sample ADF application and tried to call the DocInfo service for testing (I thought let's try DocInfo then I will check my custom service). I downloaded the DocInfo service from UCM and  uploaded the WSDL into the project and got the client DocInfoSoapClient.java file.
    public class DocInfoSoapClient
      @WebServiceRef
      private static DocInfo docInfo;
      public static void main(String [] args)
        docInfo = new DocInfo();
        DocInfoSoap docInfoSoap = docInfo.getDocInfoSoap();
        DocInfoByNameResult res = docInfoSoap.docInfoByName("TEST_001603", null);
        System.out.println(res.getContentInfo());
        // Add your code to call the desired methods.
    The error is coming like:
    Exception in thread "main" com.sun.xml.ws.client.ClientTransportAccessException: The server sent HTTP status code 401: Unauthorized: http://xxxxxxxx:16200/_dav/cs/idcplg
      at com.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.client.HttpTransportPipe.getClientTransportException(HttpTransportPipe.java:340)
    I tried a lot but same error. There should be some process by which I can send the userid and password but failed. Even I tried to send the properties as key value pair in IdcPropertyList but I know that is wrong.
    I checked the Issue: https://community.oracle.com/thread/2424460
    But there was no answer.
    Can anyone help on it?

    Hi Santanu,
    You need to write SoapHandler in order to pass username and pwd. You will need 2 classes namely HeaderHandlerResolver & SoapHandler. This is how i do in in my JAX-WS clients. I generate stubs and then attach handler to webserviceinterface
    PFA HeaderHandlerResolver.java and SoapHandler.java you would attach soap handler something like this in your code i have never done this via ADF so not sure.
    HeaderHandlerResolver soapHandlerResolver = new HeaderHandlerResolver();
    docInfo.setHandlerResolver(soapHandlerResolver);
    In SoapHandler class you will mention username and pwd like this
    soapMessageContext.put(BindingProvider.USERNAME_PROPERTY,"username");
    soapMessageContext.put(BindingProvider.PASSWORD_PROPERTY,"pwd");

  • Calling one WTC service from another WTC service

    Hi,
    We have a service called COLLECT defined in our WTC server.
    Recently we've added a second service called SUM in the same WTC server.
    We were wondering if it's possible to call SUM from COLLECT, and if it is, what configuration changes should be made in order to do it?
    Currently both services are exported by the WTC server (and imported by our Tuxedo).
    Thanks,
    Shy

    Hi Shy,
    Although I haven't tried it, I'm fairly certain you cannot call a Tuxedo EJB using tpcall() within a WTC based application. What I normally advise customers to do when writing a Tuxedo EJB is to implement two separate interfaces. One is obviously the TuxedoService interface that all Tuxedo EJBs must implement. In particular you must implement the service() method that accepts a TPServiceInformation instance that provides access to the typed buffer passed to the EJB. Normally one then extracts the necessary fields or information from the typed buffer, performs whatever necessary business logic needs to be performed, and then constructs a reply typed buffer.
    What I recommend is that you separate out the business logic into a separate interface and have your class implement both interfaces. The service() method would only deal with the marshalling/unmarshalling of the information contained in the typed buffers, and leave all business processing to methods on the second interface. Then if you need to access another "service", you would use the second interface, thus saving you from all the typed buffer manipulation.
    So in your case, the business logic in the second interface of the COLLECT implementation would simply call the SUM implementations second interface (the EJB's business logic) instead of trying to call a Tuxedo service. While this helps in reuse of the business logic, it doesn't address the issue of trying to transparently move a service implementation from say Tuxedo to WLS. If that's what you are trying to do, you might try exporting the SUM service from WTC to the Tuxedo domain gateway, and then importing the SUM service from that gateway. This would likely cause a network round trip if it works, but it's something to consider.
    Another alternative is to use something like the Apache Tuscany/Java project and build your Java applications using SCA. Tuxedo SALT includes a Tuscany/Java binding extension that allows Tuscany/Java applications to transparently call Tuxedo services. The choice of whether to actually call a Tuxedo service or call a Tuscany/Java based SCA service is determine by the binding selection and not changes in your code. Just a thought...
