Calling custom screen inside a function module

This is regarding calling a screen as a pop up from a function module.How do I capture the values that would be entered in the fields of that pop up screen?Do I use ABAP memory or SAP memory or is there any other alternative?Please suggest.

Hi savitha,
When you create the Custom Screen, you can attach that custom screen to the main program of the function module itslef.
The TOP Include variables can be used as screen fields and hence you don't need to store the data entered in the screen, anywhere else.
The data will be readily available in the global variables itself in the whole function group..

    Since i don't know your exact requirements (standard SAP selection screen? your own selection screen?) the onl;y thing i can come up with is:
    1. in your function pool create your own screen with a subscreen area
    2. create your own selection screen as a subscreen.
    3. include the selection subscreen in the first screen
    4. call the first screen in your function.

    while clicking on the records of the alv it should open the secondary list of another table.
    My problem is it is not fetching the records of the internal table of the primary list since it is created inside the function module(FUNCTION...ENDFUNCTION).

    READ TABLE sel_sheet INTO wa_sheet INDEX rs_selfield-tabindex.
    here sel_sheet is the internal table for the primary list..
    i called the function module "reuse_lav_grid_display" inside Function...Endfunction.
    so when i am using  READ TABLE sel_sheet INTO wa_sheet INDEX rs_selfield-tabindex.
    inside the user command perform therecords in this internal table is not populating..
    pls help me on this.

    Hi,
    I guess you have changed the properties of screen only.
    I assume you have made a Ztransaction Code.
    When you define a transaction code, you need to specify a screen number for radio option program and screen and you need to specify a screen and not subscreen.( I think so!!)
    You changed only the code without changing the transaction code properties.
    Therefore, i think u r getting a dump.
    If you want to call your subscreen, call it in some screen and then call that screen using your transaction code properties.
    To include a subscreen screen in the subscreen area of the main screen and call its PBO flow logic, use the following statement in the PBO event of the main screen:
    PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
      CALL SUBSCREEN <area> INCLUDING <prog> <dynp>.
    To call the PAI flow logic of the subscreen screen, use the following statement in the PAI flow logic of the main screen:
    PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
    CALL SUBSCREEN <area>.

  • Call WDA from ABAP via function module

    Hi WDA experts,
    is there any possibility to call a WDA within a ABAP report AND include it in the process.
    The best would be to call a WDA via a function module - make some inputs on the WDA side - press submit and the function module gives me the data from the webdynpro back to my application.
    I know that I can call a WDA via the function CALL_BROWSER, but in this case the WDA application is fully independent from the report and I am not able to post any data back to the report.
    I also know FM WDY_EXECUTE_IN_PLACE, but in this case I need a HTML container to display the WDA and there it seems that I also never get back any data back to the report.
    Any hints are appreciated.

    Not too hard:
    CALL WDA passing in a KEY on start plug.
    write the data to a shared memory object using the key passed as the
    key to a shared memort object on the submit.
    (see blogs on writing Shared maemory objects in ABAP)
    Then simply exit APP.
    On return read the data from the Shared memory Object.
    The shared memory object lives across the 2 sessions.

    Hi Naina,
    Normally RFC are synchronous, they do have return parameter as export parameter.
    If return parameter is missing then , you can create Wrapper RFC.
    Wrapper RFC:
    It is nothing but you just  create BAPI in SE37 transaction with Return parameter as export parameter and make it remote enabled by clicking on Radio button.
    Under source code, CALL BAPI which XI has to call.
    Thats it!

    Please check the account group assignment to the partner functions in   
    transaction VOPA click on partner function button then environment      
    then Account group assignment. Please ensure that this is all configured
    correctly for the partners.

    The error message is generated because of a program error that

    sold-to party'.                                                                               
    The partner roles in the customer master are incorrectly set, see

    Recommendation: Assign the customer an account group which              
    already fulfills these criteria. (In the standard system, this is       
    Account group '0001).

    i am trying to generate the pdf data source inside a custom function module,
    the function module will call the FUNCTION 'FP_JOB_OPEN' , then call the function module of the pdf interface. then get the pdf data back and return.
    but at run time i got the error message:
    FPRUNX101, the job already started.
    then the program stopped.
    i checked the service market place, there is a note for that:858325 Message "Job already started" when you display PDF forms .
    according to the notes,it seems that it's only possible to call the pdf generated function module in a program.
    my question is , is there a way to call that in a funciton module?

    At runtime, a PDF-based form is called using a generated function module. If you use the new interface, it is necessary to set the function modules FP_JOB_OPEN and FP_JOB_CLOSE as control structures with one or several generated function modules. In order for the single test from Transaction SFP to work simultaneously, however, the system checks for the test environment of Transaction SE37 (in which the test ultimately runs) in the single test. In this case, the function modules FP_JOB_OPEN or FP_JOB_CLOSE are called automatically.
    If you then test a function module that calls a PDF based form and therefore calls the function module FP_JOB_OPEN itself, this leads to the error message mentioned above.
    Solution
    The test should be carried out using a program that in turn calls the function module to be tested.

    sorry, i found out the reason.
    the fm can not test direct in se37, it should be wrapped by a program.

  • How to call Custom screen in standard transaction on same session

    Hi ,
    I am getting this Problem.
      After one of the screen in standard Transaction (CV01N) I need to call one custom screen. for this I created one program type M with screen. in Stan. transaction I am calling like Call transaction 'XXXX'(for above M program).here I am geeting all my required functionality .but I am getting this custom screen in separate session. I want to call this custom screen on same session of std transaction ( means background custom screen is std.screen).
    Can any one guide me to achive this functionality;

    POPUP_WITH_TABLE_DISPLAY  - No. of lines you can display.

       Check in TVKO and TVTA  master tables, for Sales Area (Sales OrganizationDistribution ChannelDivision) is vaild or not..
       If no entreis availble , it will raise the exception SALES_AREA_NOT_VALID.

    Hi Experts,
       I have a scenarion like this:
      XI -
    > Function Module -
    > ABAP Report
      From XI I am callingf a function module in another R/3 system. This function module inturn calls a ABAP report using SUBMIT statement. The function module and the report reside in the same R/3 system.
      I am calling the report like this:
    SUBMIT yseg_save_bp_data WITH SELECTION-TABLE rspar
                                 AND RETURN.
    The problem is when I run the function module directly in the R/3 system then it calls the report without any problem.
    On the other hand, when I call the function module from XI then the report is not called. On debug mode I found that the program exits just at the Submit statement. Why is this strange problem?
    What mistake am I doing? Is there any limitations or restrictions with SUBMIT statement.
    What is the correct way of using submit statement in this scenario?

    Hi Rao,
       I have created the FM as remote RFC. Infact XI is able to call the FM. Only problem is when it reaches the point where the report is called via SUBMIT it exits.

    If the report is just based out of a table than create a Generic Extractor using View.
    If its an InfoSet query than create a Generic Extractor on that InfoSet.
    If its an ABAP report than create a Generic Extractor using FM
