Calling Remote interface from client
Hi there!
I am working on a BMP (using weblogic 6.1)
My problem is - How do I contact remote interface from client. In my jndi tree I have mentioned only Home interface. Right now I am calling my remote interface like this:
//contact home interface
Object obj = ctx.lookup("APIHome");
APIHome home = (APIHome) javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow(obj, APIHome.class);
//creating remote somehow - I got this clue from a website
rem = home.findByPrimaryKey(new EntityPK("test1","test2"));
//calling getter & setter methods
rem.setWidth()
rem.getId();
This works...but doesn't make any sense to me. Why should we initialize remote interface as above. Or is there any other option. Can somebody please explain me more clearly about this concept.
Thanks very much
regards
-Manasvi
The HomeInterface contains two types of methods - create and find. The create methods create an instance of the entity bean(i.e., a record in the database) and the finder methods finds an existing record in the database, constructs an entity bean representing this row and returns the remote interface of this bean to the client for further manipulations.

How to call remote API from root SharePoint 2013 domain (not an app)
I'm trying to follow the article
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/fp179895%28v=office.15%29.aspx
For a SharePoint 2013 hosted under O365, do I need to create an app to use the SP.* methods in sp.js? I need to call a remote API from the root domain (https://mycompany.sharepoint.com). But the app, as mentioned in the article
above, deploys on a whole different URL (https://mycompany-a2d3f4t454.sharepoint.com).
I need to be able to call the API from pages like https://mycompany.sharepoint.com/pages/default.aspx. Is this not possible?Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to call remote API from the root domain site.
Yes, you can use SharePoint hosted app to achieve it. SharePoint hosted app has app web and host web, you can create an app to call the remote api in the host web from app web.
Here are some detailed articles for your reference:

Can I call an interface from java
Dear All,
Can I call an interface from java in ODI ?
Best Regards
ArcShort answer, Yes.
Long answer - you must create a scenario from the interface (the scenario is the "executable" code), right-mouse-button on the interface in the tree and "Generate Scenario". This can then be called using the invocation api this is documented in your <installationdirectry>/oracledi/doc/sdk/invocation. This points you at all the necessary classes etc to use. -
How call session bean from Client side
Hi
calling session bean from client side it gives Lookup erroe, it gives JNDI error
how we know session bean is working. in Admin tree bean statis is reb Flaf, and ID is "Down" how we activate it..
nullIf you can make a connection using sess_sh, then you know that you have configured your database and listener properly. If it is not working, read the manuals that you can download from technet. They are pretty good, and if you follow the directions, you should see success.
Good Luck!

Hi Guys,
Is it possible to remote logon from client 001 to other systems?
to be moer clear, I have a SCM system client 001 and create a RFC destination to R/3 say client 600. Will it be possible to remote logon from SM59 to R/3?
It is not happening for me. it is neither giving any error nor opening the logon screen. Or even logon. What am I missing?
Points guaranteed.
--RaguHi Ragu,
It is possible to remote login from client 001 to other system clients.
While you configuring make sure that the user must be having S_RFC autorisation object.
In SM59 specify IP Adress insted of host name and check authontication test.
If it is sucess user id password is correct and make sure that you have given Dialog/service user in SM59 logon& security tab.
Thanks,

Lookup Local Interface from client app
I have had an entity bean running using the remote interface.
When I convert over to using a local interface I have problems
with the jndi lookup. My environment is JDK 1.4, J2EE 1.3.1, Win 2k.
The deployment using the J2EE RI works fine.
I need to know what changes to the client code I need to make
to locate the bean using lookup().
I have tried two versions of the lookup:
// same as the version which workds for the remote interface
Properties p = new java.util.Properties();
Context ctx = null;
p.put (javax.naming.Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,
"com.sun.jndi.cosnaming.CNCtxFactory");
p.put(javax.naming.Context.PROVIDER_URL,
"iiop://localhost:1050");
ctx = new InitialContext(p);
Object objref = ctx.lookup("LocalSPIConnector");
cat.debug ("GOT THE OBJ REF");
spiHome = (ServiceProviderBeanLocalHome)
javax.rmi.PortableRemoteObject.narrow (objref,
ServiceProviderBeanLocalHome.class);
cat.debug ("AFTER NARROW");
I get the following exception;
javax.naming.NameNotFoundException. Root exception is org.omg.CosNaming.NamingContextPackage.NotFound: IDL:omg.org/CosN
aming/NamingContext/NotFound:1.0
In the J2EE RI I can see that this JNDI is associated with the bean.
Is there a different context factory to be used?
I have tried to use the initialContext and then lookup
various forms of the JNDi name:
a. LocalSPIConnector
b. java:comp/env/ejb/LocalSPIConnector
c. java:comp/env/LocalSPIConnector
d. the classpath to the home interface
All these fail as the name has not been boundThanks for the reply.
I have simpliefied the lookup to the following:
Context ctx = new InitialContext();
spiHome = (ServiceProviderBeanLocalHome) ctx.lookup ("ServiceProviderBeanEJB");
I still get the following exception:
javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: ServiceProviderBeanEJB not found
at com.sun.enterprise.naming.TransientContext.doLookup(TransientContext.java:174)
I looked up the deployment descriptor from J2EE RI and took the name
to lookup from the ejb-name:
<ejb-jar>
<display-name>localSPIJAR</display-name>
<enterprise-beans>
<entity>
<display-name>ServiceProviderBeanEJB</display-name>
<ejb-name>ServiceProviderBeanEJB</ejb-name>
I presume that this is the correct name to use. -

Anyone can solve this problem for me???
Thanks a lotWe don't recommend explicitly instantiating the CosNaming provider within a stand-alone java client when accessing beans within the Java EE SDK. We have a simpler approach that involves just instantiating the no-arg InitialContext. Details are in our EJB FAQ :

at com.ibm.ws.util.ThThe procedure apex_cdc.enable_table_capture i created myself with no authid mentioned explicitly, so it uses definer rights, by default.
BUt this procedure is simply a wrapper for sys.dbms_cdc_publish.create_change_table.
When I look on the security model for this sys.dbms_cdc_publish, i see it runs under invoker rights. (http://www.psoug.org/reference/dbms_cdc_publish.html).

Get a remote interface from a local instance
hi,
I want to construct a bean locally on a server and then I want to pass the remote interface for that constructed bean back to a client. Is this possible?
ThanksYes. Take a look at SessionContext class. You can't construct a bean yourself, as its life is managed by container.
* Obtain an object that can be used to invoke the current bean through
* the given business interface.
* @param businessInterface One of the local business interfaces
* or remote business interfaces for this session bean.
* @return The business object corresponding to the given business
* interface.
* @exception IllegalStateException Thrown if this method is invoked
* with an invalid business interface for the current bean.
<T> T getBusinessObject(Class<T> businessInterface) throws IllegalStateException; -
Calling Synchronous Interface from Asynchronous in BPM

I am getting "No Suitable Driver" exception from WebLogic 6.1 (sp1) at
the start up of the server.
My settings:
- WLS 6.1 on a solaris 8 machine and Oracle 8.1.6 on a WIN2K machine.
- I created the connection pool for oracle with the following
parameters:
connection name: OracleConnectionPool
url: jdbc.oracle.thin:@myOracleServer:1521:myDBName
driver class name: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
properties: user=scott
password=tiger
- I have also downloaded classes12.zip and nls_charset12.zip from
Oracle.com
and have placed under $WL_HOME/lib.
- I have added $WL_HOME/lib/classes12.zip:$WL_HOME/lib/nls_charset12.zip
in
front of the $CLASSPATH in the startWeblogic.sh script. The echoed
classpath
from the startup script is:
/opt/tools/bea/wlserver6.1/lib/classes12.zip:/opt/tools/bea/wlserver6.1/lib/nls_
charset12.zip:/opt/tools/bea/wlserver6.1:/opt/tools/bea/wlserver6.1/lib/weblogic
_sp.jar:/opt/tools/bea/wlserver6.1/lib/weblogic.jar
- Still I get the error:
<Jan 16, 2002 1:38:45 PM EST> <Error> <JDBC> <Cannot startup
connection pool "Or
acleConnectionPool" No suitable driver>
Can somebody point me out if i am doing anything wrong here.
Thanks.
RamanandHi,
Sure. Your URL should be "jdbc:oracle:thin:@myOracleServer:1521:myDBName"
not "jdbc.oracle.thin:@myOracleServer:1521:myDBName"

Error calling remote oc4j from within oc4j
I'm running a session bean inside one instance of oc4j, and trying to make a remote rmi call to another oc4j instance, but running into a problem.
When both the "client" side oc4j and server side oc4j are 10.1.3.0.0, everything proceeds smoothly. When the "client" side oc4j is upgraded to 10.1.3.3.0, I get the following error when doing the lookup:
'TestBean' remote object not found during name lookup
Caused by: javax.naming.NamingException: Disconnected: oracle.classloader.util.AnnotatedClassNotFoundException:
Missing class: oracle.oc4j.rmi.interceptors.PropagatedIdentity
Dependent class: com.evermind.io.ClassLoaderObjectInputStream
Loader: oc4j:10.1.3
Code-Source: /C:/java/oc4j/j2ee/home/lib/oc4j-internal.jar
Configuration: <code-source> in META-INF/boot.xml in C:\java\oc4j\j2ee\home\oc4j.jar
This load was initiated at testbean.root:0.0.0 using the Class.forName() method.
The missing class is not available from any code-source or loader in the system.
at com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIClientContext.lookup(RMIClientContext.java:64)
Poking around, I found that the 10.1.3 oc4j doesn't contain any "PropagatedIdentity" class, but 10.1.3.3 does contain that class in the oc4j-internal.jar.
Has anybody been seen this error or know what causes it? I assume that it should be possible to make a remote call from within one oc4j to another oc4j running a different version, but perhaps there's a conflict with the client classloading that prevents this.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
-- DaveHi Stephen,
Using a registry, for example UDDI [1], would be one solution. WLS has
a complete UDDI implementation builtin [2] for this purpose.
You are correct, you need to pass the service address location found in
the <service> section of the WSDL.
Hope this helps,
Bruce

I am not sure what I need to do to be able to call a remote webservice (runs on
another weblogic server instance running on another machine in the same network)
from within a webservice. I have 2 wsdl files and I have created webservice controls
from them. I have successfully written code in the first webservice to instantiate
the parms to the 2nd webservice and invoked the 2nd webservice when both webservices
are deployed to the same weblogic server instance. So i can see the params being
marshalled and unmarshalled in the test browser.
Now how do I install the 2nd webservice on another weblogic server instance and
instruct the 1st web service to call the 2nd webservice residing on another weblogic
server instance? I presume some kind of lookup (url?) is needed and is it via
what is contained in the wsdl file?
Thanks in advance,

Calling Web Form from Client-Server Form
Hi. I have an existing Client-Server Form (6i) still in production that needs to call a Web Form and pass it a parameter. Obviously I can't use Call Form or New Form from the client-server version, but can I somehow issue a command line (including a parameter) that opens the Web Form? Any suggestions for accomplishing this?
I can create a command line like this, but have no idea how to pass a parameter to my Web Form. The Web Form named participants which has a Parameter defined named 'p_participant'.
*"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://9.35.32.206:7777/forms/frmservlet?form=participants*
I can also create a command line to open a web form like this to:
*"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://9.35.32.205:7777/forms/html/sas2.htm*
Where the sas2.htm looks like this:
*<html>*
*<body onload="document.menulaunch.submit();">*
Launching File Generation...
If the application does not load in 30 seconds then click the button below:
*<form name=menulaunch action=http://9.35.32.205:7777/forms/frmservlet?config=FileGeneration method=post>*
*<script>*
var wshshell=new ActiveXObject("wscript.shell");
var username=wshshell.ExpandEnvironmentStrings("%orauser%");
var pw=wshshell.ExpandEnvironmentStrings("%orapass%");
document.write("<input type=hidden name=userid value="+username+"/"+pw+"@sparc20*>")*
*</script>*
*<input type=submit value=Launch>*
*</form>*
*</body>*
*</html>*
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

http://9.35.32.206:7777/forms/frmservlet?form=participants&otherparams=p_participant=<SOME VALUE>I assume you plan to use HOST to make this call. I would recommend something like this:
HOST ('cmd /c start iexplore.exe "http://9.35.32.206:7777/forms/frmservlet?form=participants&otherparams=p_participant=<SOME VALUE>"');
