Calling the Adobe form in a workflow step for Approval

Hi All,
We are creating a PCR scenario using Adobe forms for "Employee seperation". This form will require 7 subsequent approvals from various agents which is to be handled using a workflow.
I had gone through the ISR cookbook and managed to create a scenario. I have also assigned it to a PDF form and a dummy workflow. Now from my PCR iview i am able to submit the form for my scenario which also triggers the dummy workflow(through the BUS7051-CREATED event).
Right now this dummy workflow just sends a mail(by sendmail step) to the first approver. Now i want this workflow to send a workitem to the first approver for approval of this form which will have to appear in his UWL. When the approver double clicks on the workitem in UWL he should be able to view the form along with Approve/Reject/Cancel buttons. I am not aware how to do this. My questions are,
Is this handled by a decision step or an activity?
If it is an activity step which Task/Business object method is used to handle this?
If it is a decision step how do we make the Adobe form also to be displayed along with approve/Reject buttons?
We are using ECC5.0 and EP6.0.

The UWL issue has been resolved now and i am receiving the workitems in my UWL. But i am getting the following error when i am trying to execute the workitem from my UWL.
Service cannot be reached
What has happened?

There are some ISR forms and workflows in MSS which use Workflow tasks configured as JavaWebDynpro to call Adobe form from the Workflow Step.
Is it possible to achieve the same using ABAP Web Dynpro and creating a new task and configuring to use it as an ABAP Web Dynpro (which can in turn call the Adobe form from the WD)?

1)You can develop an RFC that collects required basic data from R/3 and display them in ABAP WD - Adobe Form. The End user can change/fill the remaining contents of the Adobe Form and submits it for approval. The RFC again handles the triggering part of the Workflow and passes the form data to the workflow containers.And for approvals, you can use the SWFVISU to call a ABAP WD application from Workflow. And in turn the control again goes back to RFC and so...
2)I dont have much idea in ECC 60 if there is a similar ABAP WD application like Standard Java WD IsrFormApprove.
3)No idea.

Problem using RFC to call an adobe form to create pdf file........

 I have an RFC that calls an adobe form to display the pdf output back in a bsp page...the RFC fails at the call to the adobe form (next call after after getting the form name) ...while debugging it looks like within this call it is trying to call fpcomp_job_open and failing on the call check_job_open ...

what is the solution for this problem? I have the same problem. I get sy-subrc = 1 after CALL FUNCTION 'FPCOMP_JOB_OPEN'.
If I look more in detail I see that "Perform check_job_open" is creating the problem:

How does Time Statment Web Dynpro calls an Adobe Form of R3?

I want to know how works the Web Dynpro of Time Statement. The cause of my dude is that this dynpro shows an Adobe Form that is into R3, not in NWDS and Adobe. I want to calls some Adobe Forms since a Web Dynpro for Java. Some body knows how to do this.

Hi,
If you go for TC HRFORMS, there you can find some HRFORMS global. we need to activate that form and configure the feature called "HRFOR". This works once implemented time evalution.

Calling Interactive Adobe Form from workflow work-item

Hi Experts,
Here is the requirement.
WE have Interactive Adobe Form developed and now the requirement is to call this form in our workflow as work-item.
When the work-item agent double-click on the work-item he must call the adboe form.
Please provide your inputs/suggestions/Solution/Tips.

Access the adobe form data in the workflow container for further processin

HI,
I am using HCM processes and Forms. I need to access the form data in the workflow container once the workflow kicks off.
I need to access these data as would need it for further processing in the workflow.
I know that TS17900110 allows to import form conatiner to
-> WF Container in the field name and value pair. But I need to access a lot more fields than what is in the task. Is there a standard task which allow to retrieve all the fields in the form in one task or do I need to develope a custom class to do that. If so could you please provide some clue as in how to code this specific requirement as i am somewhat new to OO ABAP.

in the livecycle designer under libary tab u have webdynpro tab--->choose submit to sap button and place it in the adobe form ur designing. u can use this button to trigger the code that u have written in webdynpro java.
for eg if u have
a value node details
and under that two value attr fname,lname
import the model (Insertdata---it has two import param fname and lname)u need for updating the data to r3 system.
in the ctrller have a method submit.Here write the code to insert fname and lname into the db.

Handling Submit Button on the ADOBE form called from Web Dynpro

I have placed a Button on the ADOBE Form. How to Handle the event on this button. When i click this button, i want to save the details of the form into a Custom table.

Hi Majunath.
Create an event say, SUB_EVTin the view in WD where you have the Interactive Form UI element.
Bind this event to the onSubmit of the Form.
Now check the display type of the form. It will be either ActiveX or Native.
Now go to the form designer and open Library palette. Navigate to Webdynpro ActiveX or Native Library(Depending on the form display Type in WD).
Drag and Drop Submit button.
On click of the button, the event handler in WD view namely, onActionsub_evt will be invoked. You can write your code in this handler.
Now in order to read data from the form. Go to the form and go to Properties tab. Check the form layout type. If it is not ZCI, run transaction SFP_ZCI_UPDATE and convert the form to ZCI type.
Now back to the event handler.
as an example... I will use the following context node definitions
PDF_DATA 1..1
ACTUAL_DATA 0..n
    ATTRIB01
    ATTRIB02
Assume the the node PDF_DATA is bound to the data source of your form.
Now in the event handler write the foll code
data: lo_node type ref to if_wd_context_node,
        lt_data   type wd_this->elements_actual_data.
lo_node = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this-.wdctx_pdf_data ).
lo_node = lo_node->get_child_node( name = wd_this-.wdctx_actual_data ).
lo_node->get_static_attributes_table(
importing
    table = lt_data ).
This will get all the form data in the internal table lt_data.
Now you can process the data the way you want and save it in your custom tables.

I have designed the Adobe form which fills the form with table details. Do i need to convert this form into PDF to attach in my workflow work item and the receiver get has an attachment. How to do attach this form.

Error "Job already started" when calling a adobe form in Z function module

Hi All,
I have a error when calling a adobe form in a custom function module.
I am using FP_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME to get the adobe form function module and then i am using FP_JOB_OPEN function module to control the printing parameters such as no print preview or no dialog ..etc.. I dont have any exceptions during the call of FP_JOB_OPEN function module ..
Later I am calling my function module which was generated for the adobe form and i am getting the error called " JOB ALREADY STARTED".
I tried executing the same function module in se37 and the PDF form output was generated, and also by commenting FP_JOB_OPEN function module the PDF form output was generated.
But i need the FP_JOB_OPEN function module to control the output based on the output type which triggers the form output such as the medium from nast record which says print or email or fax.. etc
Please let me know how to handling this error.

Just as a followup note. If you are testing a function module from SE37 and the test button you will get a value in SY-CPROG. You must override this value for everything to work.
If you override the value of SY-CPROG with the main program that will be calling the function module you have no problem.

How to use the separate symbol in the text field in the adobe form.

I dont know how to use the separate symbol to make a paragraph separate into several lines correctly in the text field in the adobe form.
Action:
1. config the ADS successfully.
2. create the adobe form with a mult-line textfield(binding the 'remark' context in the interface of the form) using sfp.
3. create a WDA for invoke the form and transfer the 'remark' context data.
I use the following codes to display the paragraph in the PDF document:

If it is just a one word value then you could use this in the exist event;
this.rawValue
= util.printx(">?<*",this.rawValue);
This changes the first character (represented by the ?) to uppercase (represented by the >) and all trailing characters (represented by the *) to lowercase (represented by the <).
If you wanted something more general ... if they could also enter a middle name then you could call a function like;
function toTitleCase(textValue)
return textValue.toLowerCase().replace(/\b[a-z]/g, function replacer(match) { return match.toUpperCase(); });
This uses a regex to change all lowercase letters following a word boundary to uppercase.

Use of ADOBE form with SAP workflow for R/3 4.6C

We are thinking of usage of ADOBE form feature as one of options to design workflow for creation and maintenance of Info record like Material Master creation. BTW the existing systems are EP 7.0 with the back end SAP ERP system 4.6 C
We would like to just check the feasibility of usage of ADOBE interactive form for above scenario. Would it be possible to go ahead with the above concept or what would be pre-requisites or risks involved?
1. How would system identify the role to direct the Adobe form for approval in case the form is raised by multi department?
2. How can the data validations in ADOBE form happen with reference to SAP std. tables?

Object Referenced Error When calling the Windows Form during Runtime

I am getting Object reference errors when running windows form during runtime. In debugging mode in MS Visual studio 2005, I am not getting this error. I'm calling the window form from menu and called the window in a thread as suggested in one of forums . I don't see anyone in the forum mentioned this problem I have. Fetching a image in the adobe form from sap server/appliaction layer

i want to fetch a logo/image from the application layer/ sap server, so that everyone can use it in adobe form. i have already upload the image using SE78.
I try to add the image into library, it works. But the problem is that, only from my login i can access that image, other can't. I want that image to be shared by everybudy like we use in smartform.
But i want to fetch that image from SAP server/application layer.
plzz help me out...

Displaying the roles in the adobe form for the corresponding system

I have two fields in my WDP Abap interactive form. In first filed, 2 radio buttons are there (1. SAP R/3 system, 2. BW System) As per this selection, I need to bring the existing roles and display them in the Adobe form. I know the technical system names for R/3 and BW as well. Please suggest me how can I achieve this. I know there should be a RFC call ... Please give me the detailed explaination.

Check the format (in the object pallete) of the date field in Adobe liveCycle Designer, If it is not set already set it according to your requirement. then see if it works

Status inside the adobe form in HCM Forms and Process

Hi,
We have developed a custom HCM Process with 2 level approval. Is there a way to get the status of the previous step onto the form. I mean the 2nd approver should be able to see whether the form is approved or rejected by 1st approver.
We are trying to add this in new comments so that it will reflect in previous comments when the form is sent to 2nd approver. But unable to find the correct place to add the logic.
If anyone worked on this solution, please suggest.

Hi Swamy,
You can get this from the table T5ASRSTEPS and field is PROC_STATUS. This table T5ASRSTEPS is linked to T5ASRPROCESSES and you need to use the PROCESS REFERENCE NUMBER for this.
You can bind this information to a FIELD in the ADOBE FORM and based on the FORM SCENARIO STAGE you can make this field visible / hidden.
