Camera Carl Zeiss 12MP Nokia N8 doesn´t work

Hi Guys!!! I have a Problem with Nokia N8, the camera doesn´t work, I can open the camera software and runs fine, but does not display picture (black screen), it doesn´t displays imagen in video rec mode too, if I select second camera it works well. I've seen that Carl Zeiss camera lens does not open when I take a picture or rec video, can this be a problem in the firmware?
I bought Nokia N8 two weeks ago, and I didn´t do any test of camera until today, My big mistake!!!

Well two weeks isn't long so you may be able to return it to wherever you got it from. Alternatively its a trip to a Nokia CAre Point.

You cannot roll back. Only a Nokia care point can do that for you. If you have tried the hard reset and format of the memorycard with no luck - I would take it to a Nokia care point anyway to get it sorted.

Nokia Messaging doesn't work with vanity domains

Nokia Messaging's "simplified" setup means I can't get it to work with my vanity domain. I can't get it to ask me what server it should use, it just complains that it can't connect - which isn't very surprising when it doesn't give me any opportunity to tell it which server to use.
I have emails from my domian forwarded to my Gmail account. The Gmail account itself works fine with Nokia Messaging, because the automatic setup works. The problem is that I want the reply address to be [email protected], not [email protected] Entering [email protected] as the address means Nokia Messaging insists on trying for some non-existent mail server for mydomain.com and doesn't give me the opportunity to enter the details for Gmail.
Does anybody know of a way to enter the details manually?
Assuming it's not possible to enter the details directly, not only is this a major problem for people who forward mail from their vanity domians, but it's potentially a serious security problem too. In its attempts to find the right server, Nokia Messaging must be connecting to some mail server somewhere and trying to log in with my username and password. Who knows what server it decided to try? Who knows who now has my login information? It's bad enough that Nokia store your login credentials, but it's just plain dangerous that they think it's OK to send them to random servers on the internet as they try to find the right one.
Why isn't there an "advanced" option so I can just set it up myself? Why, even after it has failed to connect, can't I just enter the required details myself?
Seriously Nokia, it doesn't take a genius to work out that if you never ask for the right server to connect to, your service is not going to work for anything but the most straightforward cases. You can't guess it right every time and when you try and guess you leak people's login credentialsto who-knows-who.

"Reply-to" address should be a feature of Nokia Messaging. I too have my work email forwarded to gmail to be able to use it with Nokia Messaging.
I have requested this feature since the app was on beta. and i'm doing it now again.
Maybe if we all request it they will take it seriously, but here is the wrong place to do it.

Last time I wrote to that email they replied asking for more details about what i was requesting. I'm not sure if they will do it or not, but at least their questions made me feel they would.

Nokia 5800 doesn't work after software update

couple of hours ago i downloaded ovi suite to update my phone's software. then my phone restarted as it was supposed to ,at first it didn't accept my lock code,and now it doesn't work AT ALL. i tried everything,all i see is the blue "nokia" thing then it freezes. it would be awesome if anyone could help. Adobe reader for Nokia 6680 doesn't work on my Nokia 6670

I downoladed adobe reader for Nokia6680. I installed it on my Nokia6670, it prompted no error meesage, but it is not visible on my phone menu. Why, given that same OS and same screen, the reader for 6680 doesn't work on 6670?

Use the Nokia 6670 bundled NetFront web browser to enable you browse pdf document, but the speed is very slow and the character rendering is not good.

Nokia Chat doesn't work with Belle in N8

Hello.
I upgraded to Belle this weekend but now the chat app doesn't work. I got it again from the store, and now it only shows as a widget, not as an app, but it simply doesn't work.
I click on the widget, there's an update on the screen so the touch seems to have been recognized, but that's it, nothing happens after that.
Is anyone else had the same problem?

Odd thing, we have N8 and 701 both running same / stock Belle version. The new Chat in N8 work fine but not on 701. On 701, won't accept my valid login to GTalk!
BTW, the new Chat found on Store actually havs improved widgets; one per service. Too bad it is still not fully ready for prime time...

I live in China as well and my iPhone5s is the model A1530 I bougth outside China. I have the same problem as Nikatnight with the iPhone while the iPad Air (wifi only) is working like a charm. It must be definitely something related to the carrier since I was abroad few days ago and everything worked well.
If you pay attention at the source of your maps, you'll discover they are provided by AutoNavi instead of TomTom and make them appear in chinese with their own border interpretation. Queries are only acceppted in Chinese (p.e. if I type in english "Los Angeles International Airport" it replies it cannot locate it)
I suppose everything will be fine when you'll be out of censorship....
Perhaps iOS Apple Maps are absolutely useless for expatriate in China.
Use Google Maps instead
BTW, I'm surprised how much Apple might prostrate towards hard power Governments.... No matter what, money are always on top!

Front camera on my iPod 5 gen doesn't work!! Help?

Pretty much ever since I updated to iOS 7.0.3, it stopped working one day. When I try to use the Camera app, the back camera works but when I want to switch it so I can see myself, it freezes and stays black. If I use other photo apps like Instagram or Snapchat and try to take a pic using the front camera the switching option to switch between them just isn't there, it doesn't display as if the front camera doesn't exist.
I doubt it's a hardware problem as there's NOTHING wrong with the cam itself but it is in fact the software. What can I do? I tried resetting all settings but that didn't help. I don't want to erase all content though as I don't know how to use the backup programs like icloud or time machine or whatever.. and it might not even work, would make me even more angry.

Nokia Link doesn't work with PR1.1 (EDP_FAILED)

I was having a great time with Nokia Link syncing my photo's and video's to my pc. But after installing PR1.1 on my N9, Nokia Link fails: EDP_FAILED
Reconnecting the phone, restarting the phone and even doing a hard rest on the phone din't bet my N9 to love Nokia Link again.
Connecting my phone still works fine and I can browse the phone as well, so that doesn't seem to be the issue.
Any other suggestions?
People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.

If download of Nokia Maps doesn't work...

...then you can try the following.
When I tried to download Nokia Maps from "nokia.mobi/maps" via "Web" with my E61i, once I clicked on "Accept Terms Service", the browser always took me back to the starting page with the red text "You must select your phone model". I tried this several times and it failed every time.
Solution: use the "Services" icon instead (which is the phone's WAP browser), and then the download should work.
Pretty weak of you Nokia to fail at this point...

Here and Now for Nokia N8 doesn't work!

I have had this problem ever since I received my phone during Christmas. I have contacted Nokia Support through the phone and email. Of course, sadly, no response and supposedly they escalated the issue.
Whenever I run the application and run a search of a city, it states "This service is temporarily unavailable due to technical difficulties." For how long is "temporary?" Forever?
I tried uninstalling the application in the hope that I would be able to reinstall it. Unfortunately, it cannot be done.
I am stuck with a useless application on my phone that is made by Nokia... Sad...

Nokia Maps doesn't work anymore

Good morning.
Since the last update of maps for Nokia Maps, if I want to use my Nokia 500 as a GPS, I get the message: Car navigation can't start at this location (Autonavigatie kan niet op deze locatie beginnen.) I reinstalled the maps I needed. I even reinstalled the Phone firmware. Software version: 111.021.0028.
Are there others who have the same problem? Is this failure known, or am I the only one, and what would be the solution? The phone is still in it's warranty period.

Yes its a known issue that is being faced by may users as in THIS an a couple of more threads. Hope to get the fix soon ..

Nokia 1110i doesn't work in USA

I bought a Nokia 1110i mobile phone in Australia...the salesman said that it would work in the states...but when I got home it shows No Network Coverage.....Never had this problem with other phones I have purchased overseas....HELP!!!!

An 1110i purchased in Australia would only be dualband GSM 900/1800MHz so it will not work in the states as a handset that uses GSM 850/1900MHz is required.
Nothing you can do expect sell it on or return it for refund.
