Camera N8 doesn't work

Hi, I bought a Nokia N8 in London in August 2010 and I live in Argentina now...one day, i don`t know why, the camara didn't work anymore... when i turn on the camara, it gets black and stop working the phone... i need to turn off the phone so it can work again... I have already updated software, but the problen persists. Can anybody help me??

Welcome to the forum!
To switch off N8 in such circumstances, hold down power button for 8 seconds until three vibrations felt; you can then start device normally again.

HT5815 Got the OS X 10.8.5 supplemental update but my camera still doesn't work :(

Hi,
Before I even got the OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5 update, my video for skype was not working. Facetime was not working as well, but photobooth did. After the update however, I get the message "There is no connected camera" for every application. I even got the supplemental update which was supposed to fix the camera problem but it still persists. Help, please!
Also, I'm not tech-savvy at all, so if you do have a solution, please try to explain in layman's terms, if possible

There is a known issue with mid-2013 MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5). If your Mac is NOT a mid-2013 model, this issue does not apply.
According to Apple's technical support article entitled "MacBook Air (Mid 2013): FaceTime HD Camera might not work after OS X 10.8.5 update", Apple is investigating this issue.

Before you applied the 10.8.5 update, (or if your MBA is NOT a mid-2013 model) you could have used the built-in iSight suggestions from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090 to troubleshoot your FaceTime HD camera problem(s). After getting the camera working in OS X 10.8.4, if you use a mid-2013 MBA, applying the 10.8.5 update and the workaround should have given proper camera functions.
However, at this point, try resetting the PMU/SMC using the directions for
"Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own"
from the HT2090 page reset instructions for MacBook and MacBook Pro before applying the workaround.
If your MBA is NOT a mid 2013 model, consider the other HT2090 suggestions, too.
If your camera still doesn't work, or if the above suggestions seem more complicated than you want to attempt, contact Apple, your Apple retailer, or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.

IPod to TV using digital camera cable, doesn't work. Help

I've got the iPod 5th Generation 30Gb video. I ripped one of my DVDs onto my computer and then used videora to convert the DVD for use on the ipod. I used iTunes to stick the movie on my iPod.
The movie plays fine on the ipod, but when I go to connect the iPod to my LG Flatron TV it doesn't work. I am using a cable that came with my digital camera, it only has one black and one yellow rca plug. If I use it with the camera, the black is for video, and the yellow for audio. But on the ipod, I don't get anything. I have checked that the send to TV settings are On.
I've tried changing the format on the output from PAL to NTSC, nothing.
One thing I am not sure about is why my cable has got a little box thingy surrounding part of the wire, inside the box thingy are magnets, anyone know why these are here? Could this be what is causing it not to work. What should I do?

You need to find the pinout of the camera cable you have.
Probably be easier to get get an AV cable with a 3.5mm plug to (whatever fits into your TV) cable.
Usually, you simply have to swap the Red and the Yellow for it to work properly.

The famous Pudding Camera App doesn't work on my iPod Touch with iOS 4!!!!

yup just tried.... and no it still doesn't work...
weird that when i check with my friends, they all say it works on their iPhone 4... just not my ipod Touch... !@#$%
and when i check forums for the past few days.. i don't see anyone complaining that this app doesn't work... and alot of reviews saying that it works on iPhone, ipod Touch, and iPad if i didn't recall wrongly...
this is terribly frustrating!!

Camera raw doesn't work on my new CS 6 ( offline computer )!

I have two weeks new, original Photoshop CS6 and today my Camera Raw has stopped working. I have a computer offline and it showed me a message to install a new plugin for Camera Raw. How do I get it? I paid about 3000 PLN and my program does not work! What's going on? why so making it difficult for people to live? is that I do not have access to the internet and not install stupid plugins means that I gave money away, and my job is to be in place by your policy? THIS IS NOT OKAY.

I am not sure why you were blocked from using ACR when you were online and didn’t update. You should be able to just close any updates message and continue on with your work, but I am not predominantly offline to know what happens.
However, there is a Preferences button in the Adobe Application Manager, the thing that starts up when you use PS / Help / Updates… and perhaps automatically if you’ve been offline for an extended period, to indicate which things to check for updates for. Just uncheck the ones you don’t want to have automatically check for.
It usually takes a few moments for the Updates… menu item to become active in the Help menu after starting up PS, so wait a minute to give it time. I don’t know what it does if you are offline, though, it may never become active.
If not, then try starting the AAM manually by running the PDApp.exe program on a 64-bit Windows, from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\core\pdapp.exe
This is what I have after installing PS-CC on my computer, so maybe your app name is different since you don't have CC, but at least try running this if the Help / Updates... never becomes active when you're offline.
If Updates… doesn’t become active when you’re offline, then you might want to create a shortcut to this program somewhere to more easily get to it and tweak things as needed. It’d think you’d want to enable updates when you planned to be online and have time to do them so disabling the PDApp, entirely, probably isn’t a good idea.

Touch thinks it is a camera and doesn't work - please help!!

I've looked at the other threads posted here but nothing seems to work. My Touch is still recognised in the Device Manager as a camera and the screen on the Touch itself still thinks that I need to connect the USB cable to my Touch, even though it is already connected. I've tried updating the drivers with the driver in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\ folder, but that doesn't work either. Any other tips please?

lol you guys must be macking around with those cracks on the Internet...try to put your iPod to recovery mode and it should be fine, follow this:
- Make sure the phone/touch is on. The phone/touch must also be docked or plugged in to your USB cable.
- Press and hold the Power and Home buttons on the phone until the screen shuts off.
- Release the Power button immediately. Keep pressing the Home button.
- You should see a number of horizontal lines invade the now-off screen, and it will be slightly disturbing. If you just see just flat blackness turn your phone back on and try again.
- Your computer will recognize an "Apple Restore (DFU) Device". Open iTunes and it will complain about needing to restore.
- Now just restore and everything will be back to normal.

Helix rear camera update doesn't work correctly

The update gfc214ww.txt for the helix camera has only a correct update for the front camera - the update for the rear camera doesn't work.
There isn't any inf-file for the 5M-rear-camera.
After the update the version 1.0.0.78 should appear in the devicemanager, but it's the old driver from 2006 from microsoft.
I think there is something missing in the installationfile:
.../CAMERA/5M_Drv
With the old driver the rear camera is very slow, like a old webcam, which show's the pictures through internet - especially it's very slow, if you change resolution to 5M.
Is there any solution?

In Windows go to the control panel/system/device manager & select each of the affected devices (one at a time) and use the 'rollback to previous driver' option.

Camera N96 doesn´t work

When I press the camera button to take a picture the phone says. "Camera: the function doesn´t exits" in swedish "Kamera: Funktionen stöds inte."
And I can´t send mms either but the phone is set up properly. It´s like it missing softwear to work, i have no usb cable and the Nokia softwear updater seems to only work with the usb cable instead of bluetooth. I have reasently format the harddrive and there is a 64 mb memorycard in the phone.
any ideas?

you can update ota try using the setting wizzard for settings for mms or contact operator
also delete unwanted items such as text images /video from phone ank keep the one you want on memo card
try this as last resort you will loose all data
perform a hard reset to clear all the data off your phone. this is achieved by: with the phone turned off, press and hold the green call key, 3 key and the * key, then press and hold the power button (keeping all four buttons pressed). then the country selection screen should appear. if the country selection screen does not show, then repeat the process but instead of the 3 key use the silver multimedia key.
if the problem still persists, then try taking your phone battery out for ten minutes then replacing it. if this still does not work, then you will have to take your phone to your local Nokia Care Centre for them to inspect.

Camera button doesn't work

Hi everyone,
Recently I've noticed that my camera button on the phone is not working.
It doesn't launch camera app and it doesn't take any pictures while in cam app, however I can focus with it.
I'm on 4.4.2 and it doesn't have too many outside apps installed, what I have tried so far:
1) Pressing the button hard,
2) Tried entering safe mode,
3) Tried to change settings inside cam app, quick launch particularly,
4) Cleared the app data/cache of *Camera*, *Camera common*,*Camera extension*,*Cameras*.
Nothing seems to work for me.
Please help Don't want to repair my phone via update service...plus there is never a guarantee it will help.

Ok, good news, I actually got it.
I have previously used Xperia Active and the experience on the Z1 compact is quite different in terms of this camera button.
So, as you said Alexdone, it has two phases.
First, you slightly press it down to focus, similar to trigger buttons on PlayStation/Xbox controllers.
Second, you have to press it down further and it goes down with a click, have to overcome that fear.
I’ve also done a factory reset, that could have helped as well..maybe

Camera app doesn't work after installing a new screen

I have been fixing broken iPhone screens for quite some time now but have never come across something like this. After installing a new screen the camera app won't show the camera and the shutter never opens. I thought I didn't put one of the cables in right so I double checked and sure enough they were in good. I restored the phone and tried it again with no luck. I then switched out to another screen I found and the camera worked perfectly. This is so bizzarre to me but can anyone explain to me what is wrong? Or what has happened? I have never seen anything like this.

What's the problem when the camera function doesnt work and lags? Can my iPod touch be returned because of this? I have done nothing to damage the product.

My file association for jpg files is correct, if i click on a
jpg, ACDSee starts immediately.Although I am a long time Windoze non-user, I vaguely remember that there's a difference between correct file-type association being set and some application starting at a mouse click on a file icon. I also vaguely remember Windoze file-type association mechanism uses a few action-types. Java Desktop should expect a specific action-type for the association.

Camera App doesn't work

After a month working normally, when I open the "camera App" in mi Ipad2 the screen goles black (screen is uncovered...). The camera works with other apps.
Can I update or reinstall tris App to fax it?

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

A big problem: camera roll doesn't work

I cannot use the default "camera" to take photo. When I press the "taking photo" button or "volume + " button, the "camera" app would turn off and as a result return to the background.
I cannot really delete the photos in the camera roll as well. When I delete a photo in camera roll, it temporarily can. But when I close the "camera roll" and open again, the deleted photo appears again.
I cannot use ("power button" + "home button") to capture the screen as the screen picture captured will not appear in the camera roll.
I tried to turn the phone off and turn it on again, but the problem is still there.
In the "setting" --> "General" --> "About my phone", under "video" and "photo" categories, Normally, they would display the numbers which states respectively how many videos and photos that I have in my camera roll. But now they both display "2,147,483,647".
Before, I have connected the phone to the computer using USB wire in order to import the photos from the phone to the computer. I don't know whether this caused the problem.
How can I fix it? Please help.
Can restoration help? I used iCould to backup. Can I restore all the data and setting, including all the data in all the apps ?

Your Camera Roll is corrupted. I don't know why or how, but if you can't delete any photos from it and it doesn't import photos via the cable about the only thing you can do is restore the phone.

After reseting smc the camera still doesn't work

in every camera application it says "no connected camera" i tried resetting the smc and it still isnt working. any suggestions?

Although you may have tried other suggestions from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090, you do not mention that you have checked more than one user account. You could check your user account before responding to Klaus for more specific help suggestions.
(Over time, Apple has changed the built-in camera's name on newer Macs from "iSight" to "FaceTime" and then to "FaceTime HD." Regardless of the name of your Mac's built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)
Do not use the "Guest" account for user account testing. If you don't already have multiple accounts, create a new account for this testing. If you need help creating a new user account, see http://support.apple.com/kb/VI32
