Camera profiles missing

I have CS3 and have been using camera raw 4.6 for awhile. I recently became aware of the fact that I have no camera profiles----that folder is empty and the drop down menu in camera raw just has ACR 4.6. I have a Canon 50D camera. When I downloaded the update for ACR4.6 there was only one file not a camera profile.exe.

Since upgrading to Win 7 and uninstalling CS2 my custom profiles do not appear in camera raw. Checking in the various possible locations they exist as *.dcpr files. Are these different from *.dcp files ? or does the "r" just signify they are not Adobe standard issue ? I could of course set to and recreare the profiles but having done all that and seeing files would prefer 5 minutes work to an hour or two (by the time I read the instructions - maybe a week or two if I want sunshine for a double profile). By the way I deleted CS2 as I had become confident CS5 was working well - may have removed a support file of some sort ?

Camera Profile Missing

I have been using LR3 almost non-stop since its launch, but today my Camera Profile in the Develop module have disappeared - I am only offered ACR 4.4 or ACR 3.6. When I press Alt and the Reset button, LR3 offers me my Canon 400D profile, but when I choose Update to current settings, absolutely nothing happens. I have tried exitinf LR3 and going back in, but it just stays the same.
Any ideas?

Thank you for resolving my problem. To help others, I will detail what I did (in addition to the steps detailed above), to get my EOS 400D profiles back.
After your reassurance that I would not lose any of my previous edit settings, I reinstalled LR3 from my original CD: the re-install just wrote over the original version of LR3, but I think that, crucially, it amended the Registry. That gave me my missing Camera Profiles back. I rebooted, ran LR3, and chose the upgrade to LR3.2. This time, it gave me an option to uninstall LR3.2 (which was what I was initially running when the problem started, or REPAIR the existing installation. I chose REPAIR, and so far, everything looks good.
Also, although I have not reinstalled any part of my Photoshop CS3, Adobe Bridge/ACR is also showing my Camera Profiles too.
I am sure that the installation and subsequent uninstall of Photoshop Elements triggered the problem.

Camera Profile missing in ACR 6.7 (PS CS5)

I have looked all over the place for a solution to this problem and so far can not find one.
I am running Windows 7 64bit, PS CS5.
I just noticed that my Nikon D90 camera profile is missing under the Camera Callibration area in Camera Raw (it had been there before). The only thing that shows up is ACR 4.6:
I have tried reinstalling the ACR 6.7 plug in...didn't work.
I really don't want to try to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop.
Oh, I have also looked on my computer in my C drive and found the list of camer profiles...the D90 is not listed (in fact, there are only 8 Nikon cameras listed in my Adobe Standard folder).
One more thing...I had CS4 installed originally. I have since uninstalled it. I'm not sure if the issue I am having has to do with that or a recent update.
Adobe should really have a seperate file that you can unstall just for camera profiles.
Like I said I have searched all over and have not found anything...I am really hoping there's someone on here that can tell me how to get my camera profile in there.

1. Can I get a ACR profiles for my Canon 1Ds Mk lll and my Sony RX 100?

3. Noel, where are the equivalent locations on a Windows 8 machine? ProgramData doesn't exist, as far as I can see.

Ok. I found another Adobe download that said Windows 8 is compatible, so I installed the DNG Converter.
However, no cameras are listed under Camera Profile in ACR.
This is the case whether I load a Canon RAW file or a DNG conversion of a Canon file.
Any idea how I can get the profiles to load?

ACR Camera Profiles - missing?

I'm new to ACR and would like to open a .nef file using a Nikon D3 camera profile. I'm running the last version of cs5 and ACR 6.2 (updated today). When I open the file in ACR, I see the Camera Calibration tab, and the Camera Profile pop up menu. I see profiles that look generic, like Camera D2X Model 1, Camera Vivid, etc. I looked in Adobe Application Support (Mac OS 10.6) and see a long list of camera profiles, including the D3..what am I doing wrong? I'm missing something for sure.

Since Lightroom will not read in-camera settings for raw images, those profiles have been designed and named to emulate those settings as closely as possible. I'm not enough of a Nikon historian to understand why they include profiles for the D2X, but they are there for every Nikon camera that I am aware of. Apparently there was something about the output of that camera that a lot of people look for.
When I first started using Lightroom and the profiles I was quite satisfied with the Camera Standard profile, which simulates standard output from the camera in JPEG mode. But it was a little too saturated and the shadows were a little harsh for my liking. I eventually changed to the Camera Neutral profile and made a couple of adjustments to saturation and vibrance. It comes a lot closer to what I want. I have found that the D2X mode 3 will sometimes soften the shadows and give me a better result. But basically, you just need to experiment with the different profiles to see what they do. Eventually you will come to know when to turn to them. It's a pretty simple concept.

Lightroom 3.6 / ACR 6.6 Camera Profiles Missing

Greetings.
I've read through so many threads about this, and still can't make camera profiles show up in either LR 3.6 or ACR 6.6.
I'm shooting RAW with a Nikon D7000. The only camera profiles available are Adobe Standard, Camera Standard, Neutral, etc. LR/AC recognizes the RAW file was produced by the D7000, or at least that's what shows up as Make & Model in the MetaData.
I've checked the path
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera\NikonD7000
and the 5 DCP files are present.
I've confirmed LR/ACR is reading from this path by exiting the software, and temporarily changing
...\CameraProfiles\...
to
..\FUBARCameraProfiles\...
and when I then launch LR/ACR, I get a message that camera profiles are missing.
I'm using Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit, logged in as the administrator to eliminate any security issue, and I installed LR/ACR as the admin as well.
Lens profiles work fine. On all my RAW file, the lens is correctly identified, and I can choose it from the dropdown for lens correction.
If anybody has any ideas on what else to try, I'd be grateful.

The camera profiles that you see in Lightroom don't specify which model they are for. They are automatically chosen for the camera that took the raw image. If you see Camera Standard, that is the Camera Standard for your D7000. When I see that one, it's for my D300.

Camera Profiles Missing from Lightroom and ACR since upgrade to Lightroom CC

I upgraded to the latest version of Lightroom yesterday. I have discovered since then that the only profile available in the Camera Calibration profiles pop-up menu is Adobe Standard. This applies to Lightroom CC, Lightroom 5 and ACR. Furthermore the folder where the profles were stored is missing. This is a problem as I have lost a custom profile for editing the white balance in infrared photographs. What is the likelycause of this situation and how can it be remedied?

That is what I find so puzzling - there are hundreds of profiles in that folder under a "1.0" subfolder...
And yes, I'm sure it's RAW I'm looking at (and the error message appears before I see Lightroom, so it's not about RAW/JPG).
While fiddling some more I found out, that if I start Lightroom as an Administrator, everything is back to normal, but I never had to do this before and I don't see why this should be the case. What would cause such a behaviour to appear suddenly?

The whole UAC idea - as Microsoft implemented it - is a major pain, but so far I was willing to bear the burden for the supposed raised security, but more and more I tend to think about switching it off as I did under Windows Vista. If it interferes with my ability to get anything useful done it's not worth it (and I have other software that doesn't like it, not just - suddenly - Lightroom).

Camera Profile options suddenly missing in Lightroom...

Okay... so I noticed yesterday that (for some reason) my camera calibration profile options have disappeared, and my only option is "Adobe Standard". I used to have all the others (camera standard, camera standard 2, adobe standard 2, ACR, etc), but they have vanished.
I'm running Windows 7 32bit.
I thought maybe it was just Lightroom 3.5, so I un-installed and re-installed... no luck.
I un-installed 3.5 and re-installed 3.4.1.. no luck.
The camera profiles are in the proper directory (based on other forum posts I've found)... no luck.
I've tried removing the camera profiles from the directory and re-installing... no luck.
Not sure where they went, or what happened, or how I can get them back. Colors just aren't the same without them
Any ideas? I searched for hours on different forums and support sites, with no avail... Am I missing something? Is there another software besides Lightroom that needs to be installed? I'm out of ideas.

The list of profiles displayed is dependent on the camera used to shoot the image. Typically, cameras from Nikon, Canon and some Pentax will have a range of profiles whereas others vendors (e.g. Sony, Panasonic and Olympus) will only have Adobe Standard. I suggest that you check which camera model is showing fewer profiles than you expect and report back. Someone will then be able to tell you whether it's got a a full or limited range of profiles.

CS5 ACR 6.1 Missing Camera Profiles

When I click on the Camera Profile pull-down in ACR 6.1, it doesn't offer Vivid as a choice. I think other choices are missing also.
The only choices it offers are: Adobe Standard, Faithful, Landscape, Neutral, Portrait, and Camera Standard.
At Adobe's direction, I downloaded and ran cameraprofiles_b2_win_102208.exe, but it didn't cause anything to change.
Any suggestions, please?

Show us a screenshot of the filename in LR that includes the extension of the file.
Right-click on one of these files and do Show in Explorer, then show us a screenshot of the files in the folder that includes the extensions--maybe a Details view.

Camera Profiles in LR 5.4 missing

When trying to use VSCO film presets today, I've decided to check Camera Profile inside Camera Calibration in Lightroom. To my surprise profile would never change whenever I applied a new preset. It consistently showed Adobe Standard profile. In the drop-down menu the only profiles that show are the default: Adobe Standard, Camera Faithful, Camera Landscape, Camera Neutral, Camera Portrait, Camera Standard.
I made sure I'm working on RAW files.
I remember that a moth ago I was still able to see the entire huge list of VSCO camera profiles in that drop-down menu.
The Presets menu continues to show presets correctly as before.
I've checked and all those Camera Profiles (.dcp files) are as before located in /Username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles
Also a few of my XRite Passport calibration profiles located in that folder do not show in LR.
I even tried moving them to the main /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles, but it didn't fix the problem.
In a couple of forums I've read that downloading and installing the newest Adobe DNG Converter 8.4 can reset some of the index files, but it didn't work for me.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions!
I'm using:
OSX 10.9.3
LR 5.4 CreativeCloud
Canon 5D Mark III

These profiles are in my main Library directory (non-user specific) inside Mac/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/Camera in individual camera specific folders. They appear to belong to the default selection of camera profile inside LR - I did not install those. They do not appear inside LR application though. LR metadata in the library module recognizes my camera as it should, but is not loading 5DmkIII specific profiles.
Here are troubleshooting steps I've performed on those profiles from the default folder (not the VSCO profiles!):
1 - Moved Canon 5DmkIII profiles from Mac/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/Camera/Canon EOS 5D Mark III folder to Mac/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles - didn't help
2 - Moved Canon 5DmkIII profiles from Mac/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles/Camera/Canon EOS 5D Mark III to rafaelswit/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles - didn't help either
This is how it looks in the default path. SamsungSSD is my main drive where OSX and all applications are installed.

Camera Profiles and Lens Profiles are missing in ACR 8.2.

Yesterday I tried to install a new update for CS CC, but it failed. Then I uninstalled the app completely, and installed it again.
When I opened ACR 8.2 I found out that there were no Camera profiles and LensProfiles (as it used to be before). Instead of usual Camera Profile was Matrix. There were no Lens Profiles in Photoshop Lens Corrections either.
The folder C/.../App Data/Roaming/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfilesDefault was also empty.
I reinstalled the application a couple times with the same result.
How can I fix the problem?

Well, C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Adobe Standard is also completely empty.

Missing Camera Profiles

When I tried to install the Camera Raw 5.6 update, I got the message Camera Raw not installed. I also have no camera profiles showing up within Lightroom. Can someone tell me what's going on and how to get Camera Raw installed on my Mac? Thanks.

Lightroom does not require ACR, which is a plugin for Photoshop. Photoshop CS4 is required for you to install the latest version of ACR 5.6
If you have LR 2 you can upgrade to the latest version 2.6 and you will have the equivalent processing engine and camera profiles as ACR 5.6 then its not necessary to have PS CS4.

Camera Profiles in CS3 Camera Raw 4.6

I've had a major computer failure and had to buy a new one.
I loaded PS CS3 again, did the upgarde which seems to have been sucessful and now have Camera Raw 4.6, but when I go to look at the camera profiles it only shows ACR 4.4, ACR 3.6, none of the camera profiles are visable nor is the option for Adobe standard which I had before.
I've gone to the Adobe web site to download the latest Camera Raw, which for CS3 is 4.6, which I already have.
I downloaded the Beta versions of the camera profiles from Adobe labs a few years back and everything worked fine. My new computer doesn't have the connections to enable me to run my old hard drive (yet) which has the camera profiles download on it otherwise I would have loaded them up again.
Am I doing something wrong?
Any suggestions gratefully received.

I mistyped. Bridge is telling me that it is failing to convert to DNG because the versions aren't compatible.
How do I tell it to select a certain ACR? Is that a Bridge option?
Right now, I don't get any thumbnail previews on my RAW files. When I try to open them in Photoshop from Bridge, it tells me that it cannot open the file. I downloaded the current DNG converter and now Bridge can't convert because the versions don't match.
I must be missing a simple step if this is working for other people...I've checked Photoshop several times and the Common files folder to make sure the 4.6 version is in there and it is. So it must be the DNG part?

Lightroom 2.5 Upgrade fails to install Camera Profiles

Having just upgraded from LR 2.4 to LR 3.5 as Administrator, I am unable to select any camera profile except one listed as "Beta" when logged on as a User. The Adobe provided camera profiles that I've come to expect are ALL missing.
It appears that Adobe provided camera profiles have been installed at C;\Documents and Settings\All Users\... and NONE are located at C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\...
Is this expected installation behaviour?
Shouldn't the camera profiles be located at some other location that allows anyone logging on to my computer to see ALL Adobe provided camera profiles?
How do I fix this problem so that ALL that log on can see the Adobe provided camera profiles?
Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated!

The LR installer should install all the profiles for all supported cameras.
Profiles are selectable in Develop module from the camera calibration tab while working with RAW files.
The only profiles that will be displayed will be the ones specific to the camera model for the file selected.
Profiles for other cameras and models will not be displayed.
No profiles are selectable or displayed while working with jpeg, psd or tiff files.

Camera Profiles gone in Camera Raw 6.2

I recently updated my camera raw in Photoshop CS5 (Win 7 64 bit) to 6.2. I noticed this evening that my camera profiles are missing. Even if I open a raw file that I had previously edited. The only option under camera profiles is "Matrix". I used to have portrait, landscape...etc. etc.
I would go back to 6.1 but am unable to go back...not sure how. It just fails. Any suggestions? Tried resetting to camera raw defaults...didn't change anything.

I am having a similar problem. Have Windows7, CS5 and LR3, even before this last update to Raw 6.3 I can not access any camera profiles. When opening an image in Camera Raw it has my camera name at the very top (Says Camera RAw 6.3 - Sony DSLR-A550, and under the image it has the file number .dng); but when I go to camera profiles the only option is 'Adobe Standard'. I am new to this so maybe that is all there is; I'd just think that if there is a drop down box offered, there would be something to choose from.
I want to eventually create a custom profile for my camera.
I have tried downloading the updater and re-running it.
Also if I go to the ProgramData>Adobe>CameraRaw>CameraProfiles My camera is in the Adobe Standard Folder, but not the Camera folder. Camera folder has only some Canons, Nikons and a few Pentax.
It could be that everything is as it should be, I don't know.
