Camera raw 6.6 and 7.0 preview problem  after done "click" in bridge

Hi,
when i update camera raw from 6.5 to 6.6 the preview can`t give me right preview after 1 adjustment in camera raw.Image apears like when we open it in camera raw and the first few seconds with the yellow exclamation mark.
Months ago the only solution i found after several reinstals of phoshop, was to turn back to camera raw 6.5.
Now im trying beta bridge cs6 and problem come back for me again.
I use Nikon D3x with 14 bits ~49MB .nef files with Windows 7 64 bits .
Is any one have same problem? And why only in 6.6 (and new camera raw 7.0) and not in 6.5?
Thanks

I don't know what they did, but I assume they rewrote some of the code which deals with some of the new process calculations and previewing, to be more processor-efficient.
Lightroom doesn't use the plug-in, as far as I know. I'd guess that would need a separate update. I haven't got it. You could tell us if it's any faster.

  • Difference in displaying RAW files, between Camera RAW 5.3 and default preview...

Weird problem: when I import new RAW pics from my Canon (EOS 450D), they are previewed by the catalog viewer in very vivid and live colors. However when I try to edit them using Camera RAW 5.3, the INITIAL image that pops up is very dull... How come there is a difference in the algorithm when doing the "default" preview and the one used by the initial view of Camera RAW ?
I want to have the same "start" image in Camera RAW as shown by the default preview...
(I hope this is a clear enough exposition of the problem...)
    Thanks!
    Misha.

The initial image that pops up is a low resolution .jpg preview that is embedded in the RAW file.
The duller version is indeed your unprocessed RAW photograph. Processing should make it look just as good, or better, than that .jpg preview.

  • How do I stop camera raw adjusting contrast and brightness automatically when I open any image

Every time I open in image in camera raw or Photoshop it is applying an automatic contrast and brightness setting. I have tried resetting to defaults with cntrl shft del but it doesn't make a difference. It also when I just flick through thumbnails on bridge. The pics look almost like they have a cartoon like filter on them!!any ideas on how I get it all back to normal it's been great in the past . I use cs3

Short answer, learn how to use the tool...
As for the "auto" adjustments, are you sure that's what's happening or are the images changing based on the differences between what the camera preview and the Camera Raw preview look like? If you have indeed somehow turned on the "Auto" adjustment and saved that out as a Camera Raw default, you can go into the Camera Raw flyout menu and choose the option to Reset Camera Raw Defaults. If however you are talking about the inherent differences between the way your camera renders raw and the way Camera Raw renders it, that's an entirely different discussion...
As for your other question, try rephrasing it as it doesn't mean a thing to me so I have no idea how to answer...

  • Camera Raw 6.0 (and Lightroom 3) extra slow, what's happening ?

    Hi,
I'm having a very annoying issue with both CR 6.0 and LR 3 which is a very slow responsiveness in the photo previews.
A month ago, I was using Windows XP SP3 32bit on my machine (Intel Core Duo Q6600 (4x2.57Ghz cores) - 4Gb RAM). I had Photoshop CS4 with Camera Raw 5.x and Lightroom 2. Everything was very smooth.
Then, I moved to Windows Seven 64bit and CS5 with CR 6 and LR 3.
Now, I have exacly the same issue I had before bying my current 4 core PC, which is :
in Camera Raw, even scrolling the left thumbnails part is extremely slow (rendeing of image thumbnails), and appying the slightest change of a slider (even basic ones) takes about a second and sometimes two seconds to be applied to the image preview. Quite painful to use !
Same applies to adjustments and thumbnails in LR 3.
The thing is, the behaviour occurs even with  Canon EOS 300D RAW files which are only 6 Megapixels !
I didn't try to go back to LR2 and CS4 to check yet, but well, looks quite surprising since LR3 was supposed to be a lot faster and responsive.
As it is a clean install, I have the latest set of video drivers (it's a ATI Radeon X4800).
Do you have any suggestions as to what I could do to fix this ?
    Thanks !

  • Camera Raw 8.4 куда делась кнопка Preview?

    Hello!
In Camera Raw 8.3 I used the Preview button on each tab of correction (Basic, Curve, Effect, Lens Correction.... and others) very often it is important for me.
I could look at result of concrete correction on each separate tab (Basic, Curve, Effect, Lens Correction.... and others). How I can return this function in Camera Raw 8.4?
I don't accept the new Preview function in Camera Raw 8.4. She doesn't allow to see change of settings on concrete correction (to Basic, Curve, Effect.... and others), I can see only the general changes.

    > I don't accept the new
    resistance is futile, bro...

I've just installed CS6 creative suite mainly for photoshop CS6. It comes with camera raw 7.0.something, but need something newer to use my canon 6d. When I download camera raw 8.5 and install the raw converter doesnt work anymore, wont even open or isnt available anymore in the plugin list. Tried to reinstall everything for a few times, but nothing helps.

I have Photoshop CS5.1 (bought in 2011). The photoshop Camera Raw plug-in is not recognizing the format of my new Nikon D610. I updated the version of my Camera Raw plug in and am still getting this message when trying to open images in photoshop. Please help.

This link shows that ACR 8.3 supports the Nikon D610 and 6.7.1 was the final version for CS5.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
So you can upgrade to CS6 and ACR 8.7.1
or using the DNG converter, convert your Nikon raw files to dng format to open in CS5.
Here is the download link: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Macintosh : Adobe DNG Converter 8.7.1
or Windows: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows : Adobe DNG Converter 8.7.1
And here is a great video tutorial on how to use the converter.

  • Downloaded camera Raw 8.7 and photoshop CS5 still won't run it

I'm going to cry if CS5 keeps stuffing me around...Can't update programs for any of the CS5 suite won't explain why, just bought a nikon D750 and had to download camera raw 8.7 and photoshop still won't recognise it, so far I have uninstalled and reinstalled it and it still fails to update.  Any solutions out there

Also I should add the updater does not work on CS5, so you must manually download and install them.

  • Adobe Camera Raw 6.2 and Olympus E-510 camera profile

    Hi all!
When I open a raw file captured from my Olympus E-510 with Adobe Camera Raw 6.2 and go to Camera Calibration tab, ACR doesn't display any profile for my camera, althouth Adobe (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html) says it supports my model. The same happens at the Lens Correction tab, it doesn't display any profile for Olympus. If I open a raw file from other Camera (Nikon for example) everything is ok. Does anyone know how I'm going to fix this???
    Thanks for your time!

You should see an Adobe Standard profile and perhaps an ACR x.x profile for your camera, but Adobe does not make Camera-centric profiles (landscape, portrait, camera neutral, etc) for most cameras unless they are Canon DSLRs, Nikon DSLRs, one Leica and a few Pentax cameras.
On a Vista/Win7 system you can verify what models of cameras are supported by Adobe by looking for profiles in:
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles
    The lens profiles are in:
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles
There are comparable directories on Win XP.

  • Is codec 1.18 compatibile with Camera Raw 6.7 and Photoshop CS5.1?

I'm planning my purchase of a D7100, and would like to understand the software updates that would be required to process raw files in Photoshop. My current software is: Photoshop CS5.1, Camera Raw is 6.7, Codec 1.12, and Windows 7.  The Adobe website indicates that I need to upgrade the codec to 1.18. I'm OK with that. But, will that codec work with the versions of camera raw and Photoshop that I currently have?

I'm pretty sure that's not required for adobe camera raw to work and yes i agree with your post 5, as the nikon d7100 camera raw files require camera raw 7.4 and
since photoshop cs5 only is compatible to camera raw 6.7, photoshop cs5 won't open those d7100 files unless you use the 7.4 dng converter to convert your raw
    files to dng copies.
supported cameras and required versions of camera raw:

Or your could update to photoshop cs6 or try lightroom 4.

  • Camera Raw 3.7 And DNG 3.7

    Hi.
I use Photoshop Cs2 on my PC using Windows XP.
Yesterday I down loaded Adobe camera raw 3.7 and DNG 3.7.
Now I cannot open my raw files,I get a message saying it is not the right kind of file, also when I convert my raw files to DNG they come into the bridge as icons not thumb nails.
I wondered whether anyone can help me with this problem.
    Many thanks.
    John

    > So I downloaded them all.
    > I removed the unzipped file from the common folder plug-ins and put it in my documents folder on the desk top.
    > I put the camera raw and dng plug-ins into the Adobe bridge plug-ins folder.
Hmmm ... my WinXP CS2 installation behaves differently. An update via the 'Help' menu does everything automatically ... no intermediate zip file, and no quessing where the ACR plug-in goes. That is, there's a specific location for it, and the Bridge plugins folder is
not it. But who am I to argue with ...
    > After that everything worked.
    cheerios :)

  • Camera Raw 5.2 and DNG Converter Available - Note from Adobe

Camera Raw 5.2 and the DNG Converter is now available:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2008/11/camera_raw_52_and_dng_converte.html
Lightroom will be updated to version 2.2 with equivalent camera support in December.
    Regards,

Lightroom, Camera Raw and DNG Product Manager

Well, I managed to locate and download both the ACR 5.2 and the DNG 5.2, but it was a bit of a challenge. I have a couple of comments regarding the DNG installation.
As a sometime OS beta tester, I have developed a habit of keeping C:\ for the operating system only. When a new OS or beta is issued, I just format C: and install the new OS. I try to keep applications off C:. It is hard, though, with all the default installations. It would be nice to have the option to install DNG.exe in my applications partition.
My workflow involves importing NEF's from the memory card to a folder, and at the same time converting those NEF's to DNG's and putting them in a different folder in a different partition. Both these NEF's and DNG's are archived. A copy of the DNG's are used as working images. The virtue of DNG's is that there are no sidecar files to keep track of when exporting images. Unless I really mess up, I never go back to the NEF's again. I guess that I am an "outlier" too. I guess that this is essentially the 5 - A "double DNG-only" workflow, using type 2, the native-DNG-DNG system. This is discussed in detail by Barry Pearson at http://www.barrypearson.co.uk/articles/dng/safety.htm#personal
I do like the camera profiles. I previously have used the Fors script. My Nikon D200 lacked red and the Fors script fixed that. Not surprisingly, different profiles are appropriate for different image types. Is there any way of determining the methodology and reasoning between the different profiles, and what specific problems each one is designed to correct. This might permit better matching profiles to image types, with less trial and error.

  • Camera RAW Lens Correction and Chromatic Aboration

Looking in the Camera RAW Lens Correction table I can't find a profile for my lens - Nikon AF VR NIKKOR 80-400mm 1:4.5-5.6D. The nearest in the table is Nikon AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 200-400mm f4G IF-ED. Is this near enough or is there any manual data I can enter.
When shooting at f5.7 400mm 1/800sec ISO3200 with my D3S it is showing some Chromatic Aboration can this be corrected by entering data manually? and what are the figures I should use?
    Kind regards,
                        Alan

The first thing you should do is update photoshop cs6 by going to Help>Updates from within photoshop cs6.
I don't know if camera raw 7.4 has a profile for that lens or not, so you might have to install the 8.1 beta i linked to in post #2.
