Camera Roll Photos does not sync to Ipad2 using icloud

Icloud camera roll photos will not download my camera roll to my ipad 2, only will download the phonestream photos. Can someone tell me how to get the camera roll photos to sync on ipad.

You don't see them in iTunes. In theory your computer should see the device as a camera and you should be able to transfer the photos in the same way as if you'd connected a 'proper' camera to your computer (this only applies to photos taken with the device or saved from emails/websites etc, it doesn't apply to photos that were synced from your computer). Not sure if you are referring to photos in the Camera Roll from before you turned Photo Stream on, but just in case you aren't aware, only new photos will go. Following quote is from: iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ

Key photo does not sync

I have a Mac Mini. My photos are stored on an external hard drive. I import them into iPhoto. When I sync to my iPad the key photo does not show anymore. This has only just started.

Upon further study the problem runs deeper. There is not much syncing going on at all. This mobile me sync business is confusing. I've turned syncing back on, reset contacts in mobile me (supposedly) with contacts from my computer, but the test contacts I made online in mobile me remain there. The photos and I believe other changes do not appear either. I don't think mobile me is updating. Something is broken that's for sure.

Try force-closing the calendar app on your phone: double-tap the home button, locate Calendar in the list, swipe up on the image above the app icon to close it, tap the home button again. Now reset the phone by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo and release. Test your calendar again. Any change?

Photostream does not sync with computer thru iCloud

I have an iPhone 4S. I use iCloud for calendars/contacts and photostream. For some unknown reason photostream sync does not work to my computer. It does sync to the iPad from the iPhone. Software has been updated on iPhone and in iCloud control center. I have deleted iCloud on computer and re-installed without any success. I absolutely love taking the photo with the iPhone and having it transfer to the computer. Any ideas .. would appreciate some help. Plenty of battery on the iPhone and maybe 100 photos total. Deleted all the old photos didn't help either. I am at a loss.

HT1296 Comcast does not allow me to use iCloud to sync my iPhone. An apple genius gave me a special DNS server to allow syncing. That did not work at home. So I used a secure proxy server outside the US, and then was able to sync.

Comcast claims that are not blocking ports. Technically from what I understand they are not. They just don't recongnize the iCloud server address on their DNS. An Apple Genius gave me a "free access DNS" which they use in the Oakrigde store to sync to iCloud. It works great in the store with my computer and iPhone but not at home. After a comversation with an IT person in Germany he explained that due to the limited number of ports available and the almost infitinite appetite for ports companies often choose to manage the number of ports avialable for use by their customers. What did work for me was to use a secure proxy server with secure encoding. It works great! However as the cloud does seem to go down from time to time I would prefer to also have the USB cable option for syncing.

This does not make sense. If comcast blocked iCloud.com there would be millions of posts here about it, as comcast is one of the largest ISPs in the US. Most likely you have DNS settings messed up in your router or your computer. Ports and DNS have nothing to do with each other. A "port" is just part of a complete URL. Using a port does not have any affect on the ISP, who doesn't even see the port in the packet.

Calendar does not sync from iPhone to iCloud

Calendar events that I create, update, or delete on my iPhone do not sync to iCloud, Mac, and iPad. I have deleted and added my calendar on my iPhone and reset my iPhone a few times but still calendar doesn't seem to sync to iCloud. Could you please help resolve this? Thanks.

How do i get my camera roll on my iphone onto my ipad (using icloud backup)

Hi, i no longer have a iphone but i have a new ipad. Before i got rid of my iphone i did a number of successful back ups over icloud for my camera roll. I didn't do any apps and i had 3gbs left on my icloud.
When i go to restore from icloud on my ipad, everything feels like its going to work, i see my backup from my phone, i see it contains 2gb of data. But after the restore my pictures are not there.
Im really disappointed by this because i trusted apples easy to use service would work straight forward.
Any help would be massive due to the important photos (mostly my god sons 1st birthday)

You might try restoring the backup again. Sometimes it's successful the second time. If not, you might also see if there are earlier backups you could restore to by tapping "Show older backups" if you see this option.

Photos will not open, stuck on "Use iCloud Photo Library Page"

I have had my photos app running for three days now and it still hasn't created a library. It is stuck on the Second screen after initializing the app for the first time which gives you the choice between use iCloud photo Library and not now. When I try to quit the app a dialog box pops up saying "Photos is creating or opening a library - cannot quit while it creating or opening a library"
Can Photos be re-installed?
Bit of background, I have a 3th fusion drive iMac from late 2013 and I am a photographer with about 1tb of photos on the local drive, is it overwhelming Photos?

Lets see if we can clear this up. When you turn on iCloud Photo Library beta, you are essentially switching from a collection of photos that is stored on your iPhone and moving the photos to iCloud. It does actually use iCloud storage when you do this. What this accomplishes is if you have multiple devices, then they will be in sync across all other iOS and your computer. Photostream does not sync when photo taking away from wifi.

iPhone 4s take a photo connected to wifi, photo uploads to photostream.
Photo taken while not on wifi, and then iPhone connects to wifi, photo does not sync.
The only way photos seam to sync consistently is if you are connected to wifi while you take the photo. If you upload the photo using an app like facebook it also seems to screw up photostream.
Turn off photostream, reboot, turn back on photostream, same thing nothing uploads.
The phone was a fresh setup.
Anyone else solve the missing photos taken while off the grid?

How do I add photos to the camera roll that were not taken on my iPad? I imported photos to my iPad from my camera, and now I want to add them to my camera roll which is sync'ed with Dropbox as a back up mechanism.

Consider using sshfs to mount your Pi from your Linux boxes. It's much easier to configure and manage than samba. It sounds like you already have your Windows machines mounting your Pi so Samba is doing its job in that respect.

To help get you off the dime, here's a modified line from my fstab that I use to mount my Pi with:
gav@PI:/mnt/backup /mnt/rpi/backup fuse.sshfs rw,relatime,user_id=0,group_id=0,allow_other 0 0
Subsitute my mount points with yours.
For a password-less mount:
ssh-copy-id gav@PI
after you've set up ssh and generated some keys on your client box.
Here are some relevant lines from the smb.conf file on my Pi that I use for my one Windows box in the house that might help you with your write permissions:

IPhone camera roll does not sync with iPhoto

Around 1/2 of my pictures in my camera roll folder on my iPhone 5S are missing in iPhoto. For example: I have photos until April 2014 that are sync'ed and then a gap until October 2014. How come iPhoto does not import all my photos as a standard? I cannot be related to dates as there are a mix of old and new.

Make sure that you are using a apple charger or transferring charger. Then unplug the charger from both things plug it back in. If that does not work then unplug again and restart.iPhone camera roll does not sync with iPhoto
