Camera Shake

Well hi there,I edit AMV's (Anime music videos) im not a biginner but not a pro as well.
Most of people use sony vegas to create smooth and gentle shakes but since im addicted to after effects i cant use sony vegas,The video im about to show has a really gentle shake and i wanted to achieve something similar to that in after effects,I tried to use Wiggle but turning the value of wiggle to 0 to stop the shake will cause really unpleasing shake before it stops(by that i mean keyframing wiggle using slider control). Some one told me to use position/rotation keyframes but you see when i use them they happen way too fast and its not as gentle as that video.
in this video at 0:2 when camera goes down and shake starts   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpQKcFwO04w
If you guys could help me out on this i would really appreciate it.
i'm always keen to learn more and more and expand my imagination.

I don't know of any available filter in FCE to reduce shakiness.  Motion has a decent image stabilizer/motion tracking feature though.
For a mount, wrap a section of  the handlebar with a dense foam such as used for pipe insulation.  Clamp the camera mount around the foam to cushion the mount.  The foam should help absorb some of the vibration.

when I upload videos from iphone 4 to PC they skip frames. It isn't camera shake or anything like that.  Any solutions?

Wow that was really quick, thank you so much.  Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it.  I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names.  isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)
either way, ill do what you suggested to the best of my abilities and thank you so much for answering my questions, i can't even open the program as its incompatible and find out the info from that) so I'm in a bit of a pickle and your response was so thorough and it didn't seem to be posted long enough to even write a well researched response, thanks, all the best,

  • Stablizing camera shake

Hi, I'm a bit of a newbie to FCP...
Is there a way to help stabilize camera shake in FCP 5?
FP iMac   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Welcome to the family,
We get posts like this many times each day and you can choose to accept this response as advice or in some other way. Up to you.
Open the index to the manual or open the online help system. Look for stabilizer online. The index isn't very well constructed so it isn't always easy to use, so look for image or effects in the index instead of stabilizer. The online system is copy of the manuals that Preview or Acrobat will parse instantly.

    Dear Noel,
Many thanks for your information, I saw your reply to my question on the forum but being a newby to forums et al I do not know how to put my thanks on the page yet but I will get my head round it sooner or later. It all seems rather complicated when one gets old and decrepit, I had quite a job to get the question on there in the first place.

  • Using camera shake on animated projects in AE CS6 -  Problems

    Hi,
I have AE CS6 version 11.0.4.2 running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit 12 GB RAM, Nvidia 3 GB on a Toshiba Qosmio laptop.  Its not a technical support question, its a problem I am having with camera shake preset I have, also the Wiggle effect doesn't work anymore with my animated projects.  My first project used camera shake on an animated balloon here is the video, notice the trees moving (shaking) and the balloon is perfectly stable and appears to be moving slowly in the sky:
    Balloon - YouTube
The above video was a tripod shot of the sky, and a photo of a hot air balloon animated to appear its moving in the sky.  Camera shake was added to give the illusion that it was a hand held shot.   It worked perfect.  Now all my other animated projects can not use the camera shake preset anymore, the balloon now shakes along with the original footage.  Please see this YouTube video that explains it in more detail and you will see what I mean:
HELP with camera shake problem - YouTube
What am I doing wrong or what did I do right the first time?  I spent about 3 hours on this and can NOT figure out whats going on. Why did the first animated project work and the other now won't work?  I am at a loss, no idea whats going on.  Can anyone please help?
    Thank you,
    Ron

I must not be understanding something here. In your first video there are no clouds in the sky so the balloon looks like it is stable and it is stable. In the second example HELP with camera shake problem - YouTube there are clouds in the sky so there are features around the balloon. The balloon is still moving smoothly across the sky (drag a guide line in your comp and check for yourself) but the moving clouds give you a very odd appearance to the video because the motion does not match. The balloon is smoothly moving across a shaking background, which it would not do if the camera was shaking. Your problem isn't that the shake preset added shake to the balloon, it is that it didn't. There would be a little parallax shift between the balloon and the clouds, but it probably wouldn't be enough to notice. If you simply make the video a parent of the balloon then the shot will look more realistic. It seems to me like you are asking to produce something that would not exist in real live visually, and your brain knows it is not right, so you are interpreting things incorrectly. Go buy a toy balloon, take it outside on a cloudy day and let it go and shoot it with your smart phone and look at the movement.

  • How can I reduce (or remove) camera shakes in a video with AE???

I want to reduce (or remove) camera shakes in a video with AE or Premiere Pro. Is there an build-in plugin I can use, or do I have to download / buy one? Thanks.

Here's an overview of motion tracking and stabilization.
    Step-by-step instructions are here.
The basic idea is that you track a point that shouldn't be moving, and then you apply the motion tracking data to the tracked layer to compensate for the motion. It's pretty easy, actually.

  • Camera Shake corrections in Premiere Elements 11

I have an interview that has several camera shakes in it.  I have tried to add the video stabilizer to the clip, but that freezes all movement and continues with the audio.  Everything I have researched says there should be a video warp, but I am not seeing this on PE11.  Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am new at this!!  Thanks

    mallorykpoe
The Warp Stabilizer is a feature of Premiere Pro, not Premiere Elements (any version).
Apparently you have found the Premiere Elements 11 Video Stabilizer/Stabilizer under fx Effects in your Premiere Elements 11. (By the way, on what computer operating system are you running Premiere Elements 11?)
I would give another look at the Premiere Elements 11 Stabilizer effect, going a lot less on the settings. Often here you gain more by less than by more.
The results also will depend on the nature of your footage. And, note that a file to which Stabilizer is applied has a markedly increase Timeline render time.
There are alternative products. If you are a Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit users, the Movie Maker will present with a Video Stabilizer that you might want to explore.
Please review and consider and then let us know the results obtained.
    Thank you.

  • Where is the camera shake reduction filter on Photoshop Elements?

I downloaded Photoshop Elements for the sole purpose of using this camera shake reduction filter all over the website, but now cannot find it in the list of available filters.  Help!

Unfortunately, the Camera Shake Reduction filter is only available in photoshop cc and cc 2014, which is part of the creative cloud, not in any version of photoshop elements.

I have recently downloaded Photoshop CC, which I think is very good, but I can't find the much vaunted ' Camera shake filter', has it been released yet or do I need to reinstall Photoshop?

It's a case of "when", not "where". June 17th is the expected date of the CC update.
