Camera Zoom and Saving email

How do you save emails on the Samsung Galaxy 10.1? I was hoping this would work similar to my droid 2 phone as I use it primarily for business and wanted a bigger screen for emails/internet. Also, this tablet doesn't appear to auto correct spelling and grammer like my phone. I also can't find the camera or video zoom feature. Do any of these features plan to be added soon? Thanks!

I'd love Apple to approve Snapture Labs "Snapture 2.0" and Dreamcather "iPhone Video Recorder" for the App Store. I'd rather not feel pressured into jailbreaking my iPhone 3G thus voiding Apple's warranty just to have apps that add functionality which are missing from the Smartphone. Apple should keep in mind such features are found in other competitor Smartphones such as the Samsung Instinct, Blackberry 9000 (Bold), etc.

Reading and saving emails when not in WIFI

Hi,
Are email drafts "saveable" without a current wifi connection in Ipod touch (32g)?
Are emails (already downloaded and read previously with WIFI) readable without a current wifi connection?
Basically this is what I would want to do: Check/download my emails from home (with WIFI), then (in the bus for example), read them and reply to them by saving in draft so when I come back home I can send my replies through WIFI.
Can I read (already downloaed email) and save emails (draft) without WIFI?
Also, can I save/send my Notes to emails?

Hi Macfisto, this depends on your mail account, wether it's POP or IMAP.
With IMAP your Ipod will sync with the mailserver (includes moving mails to different folders, deleting them, etc.) and you can read your emails offline, too.
With POP the Ipod client will download just the mails from the inbox on the server and because of a wierd bug in the Ipods' mail client you won't be able to read your larger emails (e.g. with attachments or html mails with lots of pics) offline. So I fear, with a hotmail POP account you won't become happy. Watch out for several posts about this issue at this board.

Tried toadd new subaccount, instead I lost all my existing subaccounts and saved emails. Help!

I tried to add an additional sub-account under local folders; instead all my existing local folders disappeared with all my saved emails including valuable information.
I cannot find any information on where to find these missing sub folders.
As far as I can understand it, doing a system restore will NOT restore them. They are not in the delete box.
Any thoughts on where they have disappeared to?

I have since realized that the missing files ARE still on my computer but now I can't find the trail to get to them.

The quick way is when you imprort them to an app on your computer, usually there is the option to delete everything on the phone that was imported. If you declined that option, then you have to do it one by one or manualy select in edit mode.

Apple Mail isn't going to change the format of any of your attachments. it isn't going to corrupt them either.
Exchange is a transport protocol and server. The issue you describe is not related to Exchange.
There are many different versions of Microsoft Outlook in use and they all have e-mail bugs. Different versions have different bugs. Some Apple Mail hack to get around a bug in Outlook 2003 may cause the same message to be problematic in Outlook 2000. Fix them both and another issue will cause trouble in Outlook 2007. You can't fix this. Apple can't fix this. Microsoft can and has but that is irrelevant if your recipients are using older versions.
One specific problem is that Apple Mail always sends image attachments inline, as images, not as iconized files. You can change this with Attachment Tamer. Just be aware that use of this software will break other things such as Stationery. E-mail is just a disaster. To date, no one outside of Apple has ever implemented the e-mail standards from 1993. Apple has continually changed its e-mail software to be more compatible with the de-facto standards that Netscape and Microsoft have unilaterally defined and people documented as "standards" after the fact. The e-mail messages that Apple Mail sends are 100% correct and do not violate any of the original standards from 1993 or the Microsoft/Netscape modifications. The problem is entirely bugs and limitations in various versions of Outlook.

for the moment you can Forcequit, as Eustace said.
Really quit a program you do by clicking the menu bar of the program where its name is, on the bottom you see "Quit (appname)"; when it is in the Dock, rightclick it in the Dock and choose "Quit".
Now about yout attachment: it does not matter what you did to it and where you moved it, as long as Preview is still open it doesn't let it go.

I am not sure if this is an issue but Windows does not recognize the .xmp file and give it an icon with the photo's picture. On a related note, when I edited some .nef files and Windows saved it as .dng file, it too, like the .xmp file, Windows does not recognize the .dng file and give it an icon with the photo's picture.
Do I need to download something to create this icon?

PSE didn't save your file as an .xmp file. The .xmp file is not the image--that's still the .nef. The xmp file is what adobe calls a 'sidecar' file, just a record of the settings you used in the raw converter. As long as it's in the same place as the image, when you open the nef in ACR again, it will open where you left off, with the settings you chose.
If you want to save as, you have two choices:
1. Click the Open button in the raw converter window and save in the image format of your choice.
2. Use the Save button in the raw converter to create a separate DNG file, which still must be opened in the raw converter and converted to an image format for use in other programs.

Two Simultaneous USB Camera Image Acquisition and Saving

Hello everyone,
Recently my friends and I have begun a project which requires the simultaneous acquisition of images from two independent USB cameras. Throughout our project research we have encountered many difficulties. The major problem appears to be how to successfully interface two USB cameras and properly save the image to a median for further processing down the road.
Our first attempted at this was with the USB IMAQ drivers. Unfortunately, to our surprise, it does not support two independent and simultaneous camera acquisitions. To combat this problem we implemented a crude loop of closing a camera reference, then opening the other, acquiring an image, then closing, etc... This did provide us with functionality but was very inefficient, resulting insufficient acquisition speeds.
Afterwards we began looking at other ways of capturing and writing the image, which are listed below.
Various Acquisition Interfaces / Strategies
USB IMAQ Driver - USB interfacing kit available for public download, (not officially supported by NI) zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/5030
Status - Abandoned because of the lack of dual web camera support
Avicap32.dll - Windows 32 DLL responsible for all web camera communication, and other media devices.
Status - Currently acquired two streams of video on the front panel but with no way of saving the images
Directx - The core Windows technology that drives high-speed multimedia on a PC.
Status - Currently researching.
.NET - Microsoft .NET framework, possibly a valid interface to a video stream.
Status - No development until further progress.
We are still currently developing the Avicap32.dll code but the major bottleneck is the learning curve on the property nodes, library calling nodes, .NET and other references. So far it’s been a tedious effort of trying to understand example code and piece them together. As a former programmer of C I know this is not the proper way of writing code web I can’t seem to grasp how these functions work. (Property nodes, library calling nodes, .NET and other references). Learning this may allow us the knowledge to code a proper system. Does anyone know any good tutorials or learning material for such functions? So far my research has come up empty handed.
We are currently working with these interfaces and other reference examples on the NI site. Unfortunately we cannot seem to properly integrate the code for our system. Does anyone know if this setup is even possible? Also, if anyone has any experience with similar systems and can offer advice, code snippets, or any other assistance it would be greatly appreciated.
Our current projects will be posted below if you have any suggestions. (More will be added when I get to my desktop tomorrow)

Thanks for the information but that's not exactly what I'm looking for. I've been to that URL and read the information before. I don't mean to disparage you help but I'm looking for ways that I can successfully implement a functional system, not information on an unfunctional method. Maybe I was unclear before, I'm looking for any advice, knowledge or help on how to make this system properly work.
